Frank has the best bass face ever!
He sure looks like he's straining to squeeze out that perfect note.
Or he has an eaten enough fiber.
Frank is such a versatile bassist.
6.4 freedom kilos lmao
I need all measurements converted to football fields.
Fractional math IS difficult for the slow-witted.....
Americans will use any measurement system except the metric system.
@michaellorenz7177 Incorrect, we do use grams. Otherwise, no, the metric system lacks practicality so we generally don't bother. The rest of the world uses the metric system because fractional math is simply too difficult for the slow-witted.
I know we use the metric system, use it every day. The fact that other forms of measurement are very often used in our culture is low hanging fruit in the joke world. Get a step ladder if you can't reach...
DAMN! At 4:00 Frank does the most aggressive thing I have ever seen by a bass player 🤣 He is fantastic!!! 😍
To be Frank with you, when I grow up, I wanna be Frank
Frankly?
Wow I think I found the next bass to dream over. I recently had my right leg amputated and I had to switch to a Steinberger Spirit bass due to the weight. I would love to have somthing like this with the full body but still light as hell. Really nice demo !!!! As usual your videos are great.
holy shit sorry about the leg!
0:15 holy crap I'm stealing that bass line
That was awesome. Thanks to the doc for his input, very informative!
The Ibanez EMB series completely changed the way I see headless basses. I doubt I will ever go back to playing a full size bass live.
I hope they release a 37"MS someday
I really like this. A light ergonomic 5 string. Just need to think of i can get used to fanned frets.
I already own one of these. It has to be my absolute favourite bass. It is a 5 string that feels like a 4 string to play in all the right ways. I'm a big slapper and tapper and could not recommend it more. Just wish Strandberg would make more basses with 4,5 and 6 string variants
Thanks for the video! I would love to see more play time with the single coil set ups, in passive as well. Like how close can it get to a p bass, jazz bass, etc. The single coil sound in the video reminded me of a jazz bass! :)
Frank the Tank!!!!
This is one of the best episode ever.
From the host, the demo and the doctor, this is a great simple complete show full with great needed information.
Beautiful bass but the FRANK SHIRT. LEGENDARY.
You should talk about the upper horn not extending to the 12th fret, which affects where the bass sits when you're wearing it standing up.
Thank you guys. Modern, very nice sound indeed. It has its price though right
I’ve got the Strandberg Boden Bass and it’s absolutely wonderful. I own 12 basses and this one gets 90% of my playing time. Light, powerful low end, the neck is crazy good and it’s just super comfortable to play. Only minor downside is the gigbag isn’t very good.
What's your beef with the bag?
I have this bass too. When you play standing with a strap its not good. The pick ups dark glass are the best I have ever used. The gig bag is fine I tour with it...
@@soopahsoopah it’s very thin. The bottom has almost no real padding so if you put it down on hard ground you can hear a thunk from the strap pin. The neck isn’t well supported. The higher quality guitar bag (voyager bag) is much better but this one is terrible.
It’s ok I just chuck it in a mono but that then defeats the object of a smaller bass to carry.
@@bassmonk2920 have you tried the Basiner Strap made for strandberg? I find it very good and makes it much easier to play on the strap.
@@chrisjs6123 looks like it would fit in a regular guitar bag though?
That bass is a big WOW.
I love every single one of your videos sir. You are a brilliant presenter!
i got a Keisel Zeus 5 string for similar reasons. Long cover gigs with a heavy bass was KILLING my shoulder. did i get some funny looks for playing a headless? sure, but the beneffits were awesome. Headless is also really nice for playing on cramped stages.
Frank was definitely on form today.
Frank has had one too many espressos, I like it.
Frank’s bass face on a t-shirt 😂 amazing.
Hello.
I'm looking for a light bass that sounds good in good quality, that will last over time, and was wondering if you could do a comparison between the following basses:
Cort Artisan Space 5 bass guitar
Strandberg Boden Prog 5
Ibanez EHB1505MS
Meta Guitars Veil long scale 5string
BassLab STD-Bass and L-Bow-Bass all 5string
and then also get to hear you describe what you think of them and how it feels to play on the different basses.
I might have missed something, but the only difference between this model and the initially revealed models are the pickups and tops right? Loved Frank's playing regardless.
Do they come in four string?
I had one of these for a while. It didn't have the Fishman pickups. Sound wise, it wasn't getting it for me so I sold it. This one sounds pretty good.
yes, these are on a completely different level. I was surprised who good they sound despite their low weight. The pickups seem to make a huge difference
Thanks for having Dr. Kurtz on. I had some ulnar nerve issues last year due to playing with bad form and his videos were great for helping me get back on track with better habits.
Honestly I don't think I've ever heard a fluence bass demo I've liked until now. They really work in this bass.
My doctor might want me to play it but he better makes my Insurance cover it because my wallet has a stroke thinking about it.
Jokes aside it looks and sounds amazing.
How long is the neck? Standard 4 or 5 string scale?
Very interesting, especially the ergonomic body.
Thought the same, but the doctor still bends his right hand when playing.. so there goes one selling point 😂. I hope I get the opportunity to try one out though to learn otherwise! 😄
5 strings and slanted fret is a go to for me ❤
I have the 5 string Prog bass. Its way too perfect, very Swedish. All the string tension are the same, a big achievement but that's the problem, very Swedish again. It took me months to get use to it...perfect tension as oppose a P bass which has some funky character. You notice the doctor, when he is sitting, the upper part of the neck sits out about a 45 degree angle enabling him to easily reach the top part of the bass. When I use a strap playing out live the bass neck is perpendicular to the body making it very hard to reach the top part of the the bass compounded by the wider fret spacing. My model has the Dark Glass pre-amp which might be the best plug in the board sound I have ever gotten. In all a great bass, its my main ax but the standing situation has not been resolved yet.
So its like neack diving ?
Massive help! Bruised right forearm from a 4 hr gig... Definitely need to focus on not being in pain again.
THE FACE ITS EVERYTHING! KEEP ROCKING!
IttTheWorld at it's best! Frank, bester Mann!
Could you please provide the exact model and maybe an exact link to the manufacturers website? Thank you!
All info is in the video description
Definitely sounded like Darkglass Distortion 🤘 Doc actually has great hand technique
Awesome ❤❤❤❤
Super great innovation
lovely instrument, went for the d'roc for the subjectively nicer sound and passive design though..
Gregor and Frank are the best
Thank you for the review, commentary and playing... and medical advice. I'm curious. What is the space you record in? Do you have a store - or what is it you do outside of filming videos (I assume it's probably music related)? All the best!
This is our studio. BassTheWorld is a full-time job and that’s the place where it all happens
@@basstheworldofficial - Thanks! It's a beautiful space... and sounds like a wonderful lifestyle.
Does someone have this bass? I am seriously thinking about this one, but I dunno these Fishmans and pre sounds just not to my taste I think.
I like aggressive higher sounds and also melodic smooth like
Awesome.
Pfft. I didn't need the expense, guys! I love my Ibanez 1265ms for many of the same reasons, but the sculpted neck and cut outs on this are really selling me. I also like the Fishmans from my Dimension, although like that one, the split coil on this seems useless to me. The full settings all sound great, though. ty To the Doc! He basically just told you every injury I have.
Frank is the best thing in the video, without a doubt.
I want it!!
I'd love if these had a more budget option. They are pricey....but it sounded damn good.
When Frank plays a bass I want, I have to watch with the sound off first. He’s so good, *every* bass sounds like gold in his hands!
Instead, I follow a simple rule. Just watch the face! The Bassier the Face, the better the Bass! I saw Frank’s face when he beat on that bass, so I KNOW I need one! 😅
(What does a Tribe Shob do to Frank’s face, I wonder…? 🤔)
Build this bass is Sweden and get the payment :).
My ibanez about 3 times less expensive but made by the same people in the same factory in Indonesia 😂😂 and sounds great
If you talk about the EHB series, I can tell you this is absolutely day and night in term of finish and quality control
@@JonathanGarcia-iu3ln no, I am talking about btb 805ms
@@Infectedbyevil ah yes ok my bad! Love the BtB’s great value for money and well made (but not ergonomic). I have a EHB1505ms aside of my Strandberg… would say it sounds better, but the build quality is shameful
@@JonathanGarcia-iu3lnshameful build quality on which one?
@@garrettbaker3060 talking of the Ibanez EHB series, direct competitor of the Strandberg. Built quality on Strandberg is good 👍 I have both :)
1:24 "...freedom kilos". 😝
Cool👌🏻
Is that Frank on your T-shirt?🤔😁
Dammit Frank... dont break the bass! :) That did sound incredible though
Me want!
Still waiting for Strandberg to give us a 6 string Boden bass. Please Ola
I love strandbergs and would love to have one, but I just can't wrap my head around the stupid intonation-setting system...
I have a boden prog bass and I freaking LOVE it, my only complaint is that they dont make a 6 string and as far as i know have no plans to make one, I would buy it in a heartbeat!!!
Frank the Stank!
Sounds great, and looks a very high end bass at £3500... The million dollar question for me is, why does it only have a "gig bag"?, it needs a proper, quality hard case.., and I would expect that on something of this value... - Just saying..
I see your point, but personally I'm always happy when basses ship with gigbags instead. Too many cases taking up too much space... never know where to put them. Ok... I own too many basses ;)
@@basstheworldofficialIt certainly is a fantastic bass... Love your channel too..., always watch.., really good... 👍
Christian Bale's older, lesser known brother.
Everything is ergonomic but the price
Doctor has enough money to buy a Strandberg, not me 😅
Think doc would write a Rx for one? my insurance might cover it.
Until my doctor saw the price tag and said nope...there are other lightweight options for less than half of this bass.
mmm nice but at that price I would expect a case....
Wasn't going to buy another bass, but Drs orders.....
Damn, your dad gave this bass a beating.
String spacing too narrow?
👍👍👌
3 989 € for an Indonesia made bass ? Are you kidding me ?
THE MOST EXPENSIVE MADE IN INDONESIA BASS!!!
Freedom kilos
my doctor, maybe. My wallet...no
I have a book of that guy!!!!! Nice!!!!
But the strap pins are not placed very well, very good for the balance but having schaller strap locks, it just digs into my chest while playing, super annoying! (and the bridge / saddle design is atrocious). But overall, yes, it plays like a dream :)
Does it come w a purse? 😂😂😂
Who knew Christian Bale had a brother who is a doctor and a bass player?
fishmans are getting pretty common basses nowadays
Its price %!$@$#%! everything.
Frank looks like he's just as disgusted as we are at that tone.
#freedomkilos
Indonesian built at a reasonable pricepoint?
Stienberger basses and the Yamaha DX 7,
80%of the 1980s sound's...
They are so costly 😭
nice bass. €4K.
Greatè But my doctor and my wallet have different opinions on that one ;)
My wallet will hate me
Frank just went full on gorilla!!!
They just can't make a bass like this in the $500 range can they.. huge hole in the market
Did anyone here compare the Strandberg Boden basses with the Ibanez EHB series?
They are both made in Indonesia and I have to say my Ehb1000s was a good deal for less than €1000
And the Strandberg is 4000€, it’s crazy 🤯
Really good bass, it has all i want in just one instrument, but bass aside, Chiropractors aren't real doctors, are they? at least in my country they are seen as scammers
Good bass.
I would never trust a chiropractor as I have an orthopaedic surgeon in the family.
just get an ibanez ehb-1005sms and save yourself some money
2:30 for 4k you get THIS volume difference when switching between singles and humbs? That's ridiculous :) IMO Strandberg is overpriced
Strandberg? Whats next? Render? 😂
Anyone got a Dr who will prescribe them £3500?
