Common fallacy of mining is that they figure electricity is free. Going off the average price of electricity in the US, you'd be over $2600 in the hole when calculating electricity costs for a full year of mining along with the cost of the hardware. Even with 8 miners, that's no guarantee of hitting a block within a year, it's a 1 in 23 chance, the other 22 times you get nothing at all. Even pool mining, you will be forever unprofitable if factoring in electricity costs. The real money in any gold rush isn't digging for gold, it's selling shovels to the miners, and cryptocurrency mining is no different. The only people making steady money are the ones selling the hardware.

Yep. And the mining industry collapses by confiscation or something like that, your chances are way higher. However if mining bitcoin becomes against the law, it’s not a good world, imho.

I have 10 , $40 Nerd Miners at 72 kilo hash (720 KH/s total) Solo mining so that is $400, before the Nano miners came out, and I bought one of these Nano Miners for about $180, FedEx shipping is $79 but still the price compared to the hasharate of the Nerd Miners is Great!

You need to use umbrel public pool. A guy made a video doing that with BitAxe. Search for “BitAxe Public Pool Braiins”. There’s an excellent video.
My Nano 3 OEM PSU gets quite hot too, I put a 100mm x 70mm x 35mm Alu heatsink and a fan on it. Currently I'm just running medium in the Summer.

These don't truly solo mine, they just mine in a pool which can point to a solo mining pool. No node, not running your own pool submitting your own block headers is not truly solo mining. Need an apollo II full node miner to do that or deep tech skills.

Approx 0.00045 BCH per unit/daily pool mining at current difficultly = around 0.20c today

You ain't gonna hit nothing ...
They call these small miners lottery miners for a reason. You have about as chance of hitting a block as winning the lottery. You will use more power than you will mine so pool mining on these is pointless. Your only chance is trying to hit a lottery block solo mining and hope you make a profit.
Ive got 2 - one on stock PSU another on the aftermarket. Both get HOT. Stock 145F and aftermarket 127F. Longterm I agree with @redpanda Stock PSU looks like it will last long term.

KAS reward reductions are too aggressive, kso ultra won't profit for long and they wont produce much warmth unless ran without a external 120mm fan in which case the unit themselves run too hot

I’m having trouble connecting my to the Internet I try resetting it to factory settings the Avalon nano 3 I tried turn off, turn it back on. I do have high-speed Internet. I do not have that much equipment on it like TV and miners do you have any ideas please

i used NTB PSU - Lenovo Legion Slim 140W AC Adapter (USB-C) and on high mine 4.33TH but i add secondary external cooling and remove side grills (the miner needs to be disassembled - loss of warranty)

Because your phone won't stay connected to the canaan's WiFi... Force your phone to stay connected... Airplane mode works once connected.

When mining for a block, is it better to have more miners or one miner with high hashrate?
10 at 4 th is the exact same as 1 at 40th.

@@HristoChakarov-g6i the math says 10x4=40th and 1x40th= 40th so it is equally hard to hit the block. this assumes all gear works properly. one can argue 10 small units are less likely to all shut off. but my assumptions are based on the gear running.
