    Took delivery on a Gladiator Rubicon Diesel last Wednesday. It’s absolutely a TANK. I’ve managed to get about 150 miles on it in the past few days, and have taken it off road where it performs quite well. Not just a dirt road but full-on NEED the lockers off-road. The Diesel is a great motor in this truck. The torque is ridiculous.

    For everyone complaining about Price....Jeep is a Lifestyle Choice. You don't need to get a fully equipped Rubicon @ $67k, a base Rubicon will run you $48K with the Eco-diesel. But If you want the bells and the whistles you have to pay for it. But you can also get the Eco-Diesel in ANY Trim level so even the sport. This Video was good in it shows the VERY TOP OF THE LINE Gladiator And its capabilities. And I hate to say it, but Small trucks are making a big comeback with a Very Large Price tag! You can always buy the base models pretty cheap no matter who make the truck, but then start adding amenities and it climbs pretty quick!

    I would dare say that the reason this specced Gladiator has a lower tow rating than the gas is because its a Rubicon. The setup, suspension, gearing etc is meant for extreme off-roading....yes? Nice review! Also your jeans are awfully tight. Urban Cowboy?

  • @beyondfubar
    @beyondfubar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I ordered mine this week. I agree with everything but the value.
    On mine I grabbed everything except things I felt aftermarket did better for cheaper and were somewhat simple to do (bumper, fenders, etc) and every package except the smoker's group (which is a whopping 30 bucks) with one exception, leather seats. As much as I love burning my ass in summer and getting a icicle enema in the winter, I couldn't do that.
    It was 74k delivered and taxed, and I couldn't even test drive it properly because everyone is so scared of stocking the diesel. I'm not sure why the 3.6 gas motor is so loved, if you test drive it, that engine feels exactly like my 4-cylinder Tacoma after a lift and 33 inch tires. It struggles to spin that much mass and doesn't give me much confidence in it's off road capability. So I took the diesel.
    I'm sure I'll love it, but I also built a RAM 5500 with every single wish list item for about a thousand less. Would I do it again, yeah, probably. I can't exactly take the Ram to the back of my lot, but I probably could get a reasonable 2500 and a side by side for the same amount and do it all. At the end of the day a Jeep is a unique thing and I wanted to own one when I was a teenager, but I couldn't justify it until the gladiator. The price, though, 2 stars. 3 or 4 if Jeep pulls their head out and gives the gladiator that 392 from the wrangler. That should have happened already. 4 to 5 if they bring over the 4xe stuff because I might buy it again for that.

      @sroodtuo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take it from an actual owner that has driven in a snow storm at sub 20 degrees - the defroster works just fine. I think TFL forgot to turn on the defroster. On the other hand, the LED headlights are a problem in a snow storm. As the LED’s generate no heat they quickly pack up with snow and become un-useable. My fix is a pair of Halogen fog lights mounted on the bumper (Halogens create heat and don’t allow the snow build up).

    I was looking at buying one of these. I looked at the options I wanted and it was over $62,000. I started to compromise and got it down to around $53,000. I just couldn't see spending that much. I ended up buying a 2019 Challenger 392 T/A with almost $8000 off sticker. I have a truck and didn't really need a new one anyway.

      @@reaj2010 Honestly, I probably got the price of the Ram I looked at confused with the Gladiator I looked at. I was going from memory, which isn't that good at times. That said, the Gladiator and the Ram both were too much for my blood. I decided I would rather have a 6 gear 392 powered Challenger, especially for the price.

    As much as I complain about the cost of the options, I do wish they had the options for lockers and heavy duty axels on the other trims. While I'm at it, I also wouldn't complain about a 2door Gladiator, like the concept, but I think that would technically be a Jeep Comanche.

There is a lawsuit with RAM for engine fires because of the EcoDiesel. I am surprised there isn't one for the JGC yet. I personally owned the JGC w/EcoDiesel and it was great till a fire in the engine totalled the entire vehicle...If for some odd reason you still want to pay the hefty price tag for this rolling time bomb than you better make sure you get GAP cause you are gonna wish you had it!

The 4th gen rams and gc had the gen 2 motor, now the new rams, wranglers, and gladiators have the gen 3 which has 80% new parts with more power and torque. Hopefully they made they the proper adjustments otherwise be sure to dump it at 100k when the warranty is out!

      There is no evidence of that $70k price. The gladiator diesel is not even available to mock up yet on the build site. And if you take the top model Mohave it's 43k add a $4500 diesel option to that it would put you at $45,500. So that 70k number is way off the mark.

      And maybe $2000 for the automatic. So $49,500 +TTL

      It was right off our window sticker. As stated in the video, 23k in options on top of a 43k base.

    What is he wearing he needs to fire the one in charge of his outfits. But the review is okok. But what is he wearing that ain't the type of clothes you wear as a cowboy or in a ranch. I dont know what that is.

      Let's see. Levis, Carhart plaid shirt, Stetson hat, Dingo boots. What should a cowboy be wearing Fashionista?

    Stick to reviewing your Prius….. horrible review of the Gladiator and it’s capabilities! Driving on a level dirt road is not a review of the Rubicon in any configuration.
