- The NEW Gladiator EcoDiesel is ready to dominate the midsize truck category. Under the hood is Jeep's 3.0L turbo diesel V6 that produces 260HP & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the outside the Overland brings painted fenders, optional wheels, and hardtop roof. On the inside you will find leather seating, tons of connectivity and an 8.4in infotainment system. Diesel has a bad rap for being dirty. That is mainly due to people illegally modifying their Diesel engines to “roll coal” in protest or whatever. Diesel engines usually get way better MPGs, and modern technology has allowed manufacturers to produce much cleaner Diesel engines that can be better for the environment and cheaper on your wallet than traditional petroleum/gasoline.
well Ram has had it in their 1500 since 2014 i think.
@@E_Reich I got a few people in my area like that. 🙄 I wish more automakers make more Diesel engines ( like the 4RUNNER. please Toyota ) still the gladiator as good MPG’s

I like the boxy, rugged look of the exterior. Interior looks very nice too. I could definitely ride around all day while snackin on a box of zingers or twinkies lol. Best car reviews on TH-cam. Keep it up Joe! Florida rocks!

this is probably the best package for a Gladiator, a Rubicon trim vehicle is a waste on most consumers! I really dig it!

well i dont blame them. people are just gonna change them out to whatever tire that they prefer. if it came with ridge grapplers or duratracs on it i wouldve still taken them off bc i like mud tires

Great video, well at least jeep seems to understand there's a difference between overlanding and rock crawling/off-roading. So many youtubers are calling themselves overlanders today, traveling a few hours from home and going 4wd camping is not overlanding 😂

Seriously considering one of these in a few years but a Rubicon version. I will say they really missed the mark with calling this an Overland edition and then putting crappy street tires on it and not some A/T tires. I'm leaning towards this motor but not fully sure yet, plus with having a few years before I get it things might be different.

The Gladiator is already an excellent vehicle.
Yes, "ecoDiesel" is a marketing oxymoron, straight out of Ford's Ecoboost playbook.
However, this shows that they've been listening to consumers, before the Green New Deal demons take a chokehold on the auto industry.
The torque and practicality will satisfy the segment of buyers looking for exactly those criteria.
