The 2021 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel is a Powerful & Efficient Lifestyle Truck

  • When ‪@Jeep‬ introduced the #JeepGladiator two years ago, it become one of the most anticipated and sought after midsize trucks on the market. For 2021, Jeep is expanding the lineup with the #GladiatorEcoDiesel. With 442 lb-ft of torque and up to 28 MPG, the #JeepGladiatorEcodiesel should continue to be a very desirable truck for those who don't always need to do the most capable truck activities.

    Even after 2 years, the Jeep Gladiator is still a very enticing truck, even more so with the EcoDiesel! We should be driving the new Wrangler 4xe soon, do you guys think Jeep may eventually offer the PHEV and V8 powertrains from the Wrangler?

    In your opinion do you think that truck has a bed big enough for your everyday life? I live in the burbs like you do and I use my truck to move car parts for my project car, camping stuff, and the occasional piece of furniture here and there. I have come to learn my Ram 1500 crew short bed is TOO BIG. Annoying to park and maneuver despite being an amazing truck. I have thought to myself the best in that truck is too small at times. The price on the Gladiator is a bit of chest clincher. It's about 10-15k more then other truck I'd consider BUT it's a convertible... so not as easy to write off...

    Based on current diesel/regular gas prices average mileage driven by cars in the US, the improved mileage will cover the price premium for the diesel .....in about 10 years, unless you drive a lot. In the meantime you sacrifice pay load and towing capacity. As you said, it is a life style vehicle. Few people by what they need in a vehicle. They buy what they want/like. Just like me. 😎

    It will take you 30 years to recover costs in fuel efficiency compared to 3.6. I love diesel engines and they're the more practical option especially considering carbon footprint compared to electric and longevity. But man, they sure did gut the appeal

    • @user-cj7dv2kc6d
      @user-cj7dv2kc6d 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's not about recovering engine costs based on fuel mpg... its more about torque and overall driving range.

      I had a 2016 jeep jk wrangler 3.6 pentistar engine, I had a 2017 5.7 L hemi rebel, and now I have a 2018 ram 1500 ecodiesel. The fuel economy isn't even comparable. The ecodiesel has saved me so much fuel its ridiculous. The 3.6 L was a thirsty engine. The 5.7 L hemi was stupid on fuel. I get 24-26 mpg on my ecodiesel. 22 towing a 5x8 fully loaded utility trailer all the time.

Another example is Freightliner whom partners with Mercedes etc. They own share of each other but are not exclusive. Read and learn.
