You are absolutely a life enhancer. When I need a break from the stress of eldercare, I watch your videos. It's a calm, fun break for me and gets me motivated to maybe finish some of those UFOs, PIGs, WIPs, etc!
My husband and I have returned going to dinner and a movie. It is something we both enjoy. I love watching you and other cross stitch and quilting videos so much. Not finding a lot on TV anymore that I like.😁I might try your pillowcase a month idea. Right now, I am stitching the Prairie Schooler Santas in the years my grandchildren were born. I think that might have been you that shared the idea. Already have a start and finish!! I have several quilts ready to start. I, too, and glad to have my hobbies. Thanks for doing all your videos.
We are having lunch together on this cool, rainy day.😊 I haven’t been to a movie for many years, I much prefer watching at home. Hope you have a wonderful time at r2c. Empty-nesting was wonderful until hubby died. 😢 I enjoy buying a meal out and bringing it home to eat. I too have focus projects but have ditched them until I get some wips done and out.😅 doing it this way is making me happy for now. 😊 Love all your projects and accomplishments.❤❤❤❤and you ❤❤❤❤❤
I miss going to movies also. Covid ruined that, we got so used to staying home that we don't want to go to a movie anymore. Can't wait to see that cute tablerunner. Marilyn
Have a wonderful time at Toad to California!! I wanted to share that I live in Southern MN and just visited Buttermilk Basin for the first time. My mom and I took a class there and fell in love with the shop
My girlfriend and I saw Otto last week it was great! I too have not touched any of my projects -they are all yelling mommy mommy mommy lol Have a wonderful trip!
It’s totally ugly here today, as was yesterday. I’m putting binding on last year’s valentines table runner. The stupid covie cooties turned out to be the best thing ever for me. I got laid off for the first time from my job of 27 years and went to stay with my long distance boyfriend who had to shut down his practice for awhile due to the shutdown. 8 weeks of awesome it was. After 8 weeks I got called back to work and we realized all the traveling we were always doing to see each other was crazy. Put my house on the market, sold it in one day, put in my notice, packed up my house and drove out of town. I don’t regret it one bit.
I enjoy the time with you also, Retired handicap (some) quilting & you tube have been a life saver for me. It’s funny when you retire it’s like you are no longer in the real world . People stop coming or invite you to be apart of their world. Thank you your talks really help. Hello from North Carolina,!
Hi from sunny South Africa. We have nice cool days after a few hot humid days. Busy with log cabin blocks, just need to lay them out. You have lots of friend love fun and laughs. Safe travel and can't wait to hear all!
I love to listen to your visits. You express a lot of what most of us experience, especially the forgetting part. The last 3 years have been a long drawn out process that have altered my life and not so much in a good way. Keep us going please. I do worry a lot too!
Thank you, sweet Anna, for sharing all things stitching with your tribe. In soon as you suggest a good book, I put you on pause for just a minute and pop over to Libby to reserve the book lol
Enjoy your trip to RTC. I was able to go once in 09 when we had my mom fly down from Washington and we drove over from Texas. It was quite fun and she was able to get her picture taken with Eleanor Burns. A good time was had by all 3 of us.
Looking forward to Road to California! My life has changed dramatically as well. We used to go to movies once a week sometimes twice a week. We’d go to lunch almost every day with friends. Now I’m a hermit and it’s sad that the world will never be the same. Thank goodness for my hobbies or I would probably lose my mind. 😝. TFS 😊
We watched the original Swedish film “A Man Called Ove” on Amazon Prime the Otto movie is based on. We enjoyed it. However, it has subtitles so it wouldn’t be good for stitching. We rarely go to movies either. Having a 55” tv screen helps. Can you believe we can have such a huge screen for a relatively low price? It’s so nice to have fresh pop corn and a beverage that doesn’t feel like I’ve been price gouged. I make pillowcases for friends who go into the hospital because you mentioned that in the tutorial you did in your trailer on your featherweight. You were making coffee themed pillowcases. I make my cases according to the person’s interests so I don’t make them ahead of time. They have been well received. Looking forward to your Road to CA video.
Hello my beautiful friend. You always perk me up! The past few years so chaotic…not because of the world wide bug but because I became disabled, dammit! Not seeing the outside world, not seeing old friends, not going to a supermarket let alone a craft shop! It adds up. But you keep me sane..breathe is the word I’ve pinched from you! Love you, enjoy your trip. 🙏❤️🇦🇺
Here in the corner of South Dakota/Iowa border we finally got snow! 9 inches 🙂 I have gone in the opposite direction with stash as you. I cleared out my closet of quilt and cross stitch projects I lost interest in and donated them. I am now feeling great that I have an amount I can manage to do in my life time. In the past year I have buried the last two members of my family and was stuck with all their “stuff”. I vowed never to do that to my daughter. Having said all that I for the first time ever joined a cross stitch block of the month at the FQS. 🤫
Anna, my husband tells me that "worry" is a wasted emotion. He is the most laid back person I know; therefore, what does he really know about worry. Right? My quilting, any part of it, is my go to place. I can forget my worries and get lost in my project. Have a wonderful time and bring back some very special fabrics or???
Thanks for sharing your time and thoughts . Have a super time at "Road". Looking forward to hearing and seeing all about it. I went on a shop hop yesterday with some firends and boy did we put on the miles. It was a long, fun day. We only visited 5 shops but may pick up a few more before the weekend. Take care!
Can’t wait to see your road to California video. We have so much in common. I love your word of the year. I’m not a very blue fan however, I could get into Blue this year with you. Cannot wait to see the new Tom Hanks movie, I’ve read the book several times. I was supposed to go to the road to California as well but it doesn’t d now get planned in time me. Can you show us some of your pillowcases that you’ve made. I also love to do table runners. It satisfies that quick Quilt itch. I so enjoy listening to you. You’re very calming. Hope you enjoy your trip to California.
Anna have a blast 🎉I wish I could come along & join you but I will be happy to see your next video sharing you trip. Be safe in your travels. Can’t believe you are only taking a carry on. I’m such a bag lady I couldn’t make it with just one bag. Best to travel light. I probably wound never be able to drag a heavy suitcase across the airport. Can’t wait til you get back.
Love your visits! I couldn't have said it better, it's been a weird 3 years 😔. Anyhoo! Have a safe trip and ohhhhh I love love thar Valentine fabric. Now I want it🤗. I love making table runners too.
I’m so happy you enjoy the wood houses and trees Ethel made, I love my set. Have a lovely time at Road to California, maybe next year I’ll get down. It’s on my to visit list. It’s drizzly and greasy no sun expected until Thursday. Somehow TH-cam isn’t notifying me re videos. Maybe they are on strike?
I went to see A Man Named Otto and I loved it. I started the book a few years ago and didn’t finish it and I’m mad at myself for not finishing the book. I highly recommend the movie.
Love your outlook on life, it really gives me food for thought. After spending a couple of days cutting fabric I can start sewing a new quilt today, always get a fizz of excitement when starting a new quilt. I envy you your trips away to stich with friends. Here in the UK there's not that kind of interest in Quilting to have very many big quilt shows. Looking forward to seeing your post about your trip, have a great time.
Hi you are a God send when you have a video my husband took me to cracker barrel for my birthday it nice to get out. It has been raining here but today is sunny 50s I'm got the tree cut out going to sew it up to day from Indiana
Hope you get to see the movie "A Man Called Otto". It is a fantastic movie but bring some Kleenex with you. It is hilarious and heartwarming, but you already know that if you read the book. It also has Tom Hanks's son Truman playing Otto in his younger years. That was a nice surprise and Tom's wife Rita Wilson also produced it and wrote the song at the end. I missed going to the movies also the last few years but now that I am retired my friend and I always go to the earliest show as it is less crowded. I just love watching your videos. You just seem to bring calm when I'm watching you. Hope you enjoy Road to California your trip.
I used to work in a movie theater when I was 16 years old. We made popcorn a month ahead. Because we would never had time to pop enough popcorn to fill Al the orders during a movie. So we would pop some popcorn (so it smell good) and mixed the old and the new I can tell you that I never eat popcorn when I go see a movie .
I’ve watched your videos for the past couple of years, and they are not only good for you but also for me. I enjoy seeing your quilting and cross stitching projects. Thank you so much for the uplifting videos.
Hi again! Just wanted to say I went onto Martingale's site and bought Jen Kingwell's Quilt Recipes... 1/2 price... and 5 other books... I can miss a sale!
I am a “worrier” too. But I have found that if obsessively try NOT to worry it only adds to my anxiety. I let myself worry if I need to. It is how my brain is wired and I don’t fight it. My husband doesn’t fight it anymore either. Now that we both have accepted it and let it be, the anxiety usually works itself out and I get through it faster allowing myself to feel what I need to feel and then it passes and I can move on. That’s just what has worked for me.
Will you show us your book heart quilt? I would love to see your fabrics. It's on my list to make but haven't decided yet on my colors. Love your videos. Have fun at the road to CA!
Anna, your chatty visits are me favorites! It made me happy when you said how much they help you. They certainly help me, too. Covid has completely changed our lives. We have the same “worry” gene. I think part of it is, as moms, we become problem solvers. You were trying to help G, but driving him crazy. It’s exactly the same with us. I adore the Valentine fabric! Can’t wait to see your table runner.
Weather's been great in my part of SE LA. You hit the nail on the head about grocery (egg) prices. My goodness. What next huh? Loved your video. Enjoy Road to California.
Thanks for the reminder about making a pillowcase once a month. I watched you doing it last year and didn’t participate but this year I will! Thanks for the visit and the chat.
I do take out at a restaurant but will not eat in. My husband and I enjoy eating in our car. This way we can have a great conversation. The last time I ate at a restaurant was Feb 2020.
Enjoy your chatter. It’s so nice to listen to the stories I’m working on Over the river and through the woods by Crab-apple Hill. I’m on the third panel. Looking forward to your pictures from your Trip to California.
I saw A Man Called Otto last Sunday. I laughed outloud and cried silently at various points throughout. Also saw The Fablemans over the weekend and I recommend that one too.
Great visit Anna! I spent our time tracing around Lori Holt's Simple Shapes for Calico Garden. It's so easy to do tedious things listening to a quilting sister in the background and looking up occasionally to see what she's showing so, Thank You! Have fun at R2C. That's on my bucket list. Safe travels!
Thank 🙏you so much for sharing your projects and everyday stories. I am so grateful for you and your videos. Looking forward to "tagging along" to Road to California.
Hey Anna, I really love your videos. It's like listening to a friend. I'm sure your viewer's will relate. I really love the sewing machine block you have behind you. It's sew sew cute (see what I did there😉). Can you tell me which pattern you used? I would to make a similar one too. Thank you so much.
Much has changed since 2020. We do streaming and take outs. I embroider and quilt. I made 4 quilts in 2021 for family. Embroidery and quilting relieve my anxious mind as do your videos. Have a happy time at the conference.
Have you thought about making 6 pillowcases and then 6 more to match so you have a pail to gift. I think you would make someone very happy with a set of pillowcases.
i recently really got into quilting and my husband picked me up a couple of books on the topic from his volunteer place. I found a wrist pin cushion at dollar tree recently as well as a small roller cutter there . i love they have fabric bundles of fat quarters so i can give something a try before dishing out the big bucks on a print i really want to use.
Beautiful rain in our neck of the woods. We are still in an extreme draught, so every drop of moisture is a blessing for many. Hope you have an awesome time in your travels and look forward to seeing the video of the interesting things and people you have encountered!
Enjoy Road to California, and Fed Ex is always an option. Having had painting done last month, still going through and reevaluating all my spaces and how to organize all my sewing/quilting/crafting items. Just wish I had a magical suitcase that would hold everything. Sigh😂
Hi I live 15 minutes away from Ontario Mills and that’s where road to California is I also volunteer opening the boxes of the quilts so I get a free pass to get in I feel very fortunate. My friends and I have been volunteering for the last 6 to 8 years enjoy it very much ❣️🪡✂️🧵💗💓💖💕😮
You will love Tom Hanks latest movie. You will laugh, you will cry, the man is so talented! Have a wonderful time in California, we live vicariously through you, Anna. Take us with you! Carol 🇨🇦
Went with three girlfriends to see the movie, loved it, seating was limited as to finding four in a row and we ended up the second row from the front! A first for all of us!
The Boho Heart Quilt is also on my list; I recently finished the Daylesford quilt from Jen Kingwell’s Quilt Recipes book…I really enjoyed making it. Right now, it’s at the Longarm quilter and can’t wait to get it back.
We in Florida are enjoying the sun but it is chilly. Anna I love every minute of your chatter. So looking forward to hearing about your trip. Everything is different for us since Covid. In the midst of it all we sold our big house and moved into a park model in Florida. I love it but I so miss by grand babies. I like your idea of rotating your Stuff out of your sewing room my space is really small but I have about twice as much in there as I should have. Oops I used the should word. Love you
Have a good time in California Anna. I finished the quilt for a 4-year old's birthday last week (I ended up making my own simple design as I'd not enough fabrics for the design I meant to make!) and really enjoyed making it. Now I'm making a rail fence scrappy Lap quilt (3 1/2 × 1 1/2). I never throw fabric out if it's enough for a piece to recycle either applique or piece for hexie etc. In the evening I cross stitch or embroider. Keeps me happy 🙂
Thanks for your fun chatter this morning. Today is my birthday so it was nice staring the day with you, before hubs wakes up. There’s an ice cream cake in the freezer (might be breakfast 😇), we’re going to the theater to see Avatar, and dinner time will be at a rye whiskey distillery. I wanted to do something different, have never tried rye (don’t know why), so I’ll try it tonight. Can’t wait to hear about Road when you get back. The special exhibits sound great - enjoy!!!
Anna I always enjoy your stories, plans and babble (as you call it). Have fun on your trip, can't wait to hear about it. The valentine table runner sounds fun to make.
I will be thinking of you at Road to California. It would be fun to see Laudry Baskets booth. I understand it will be a large display of quilts. Enjoy! ❤️❤️❤️
Enjoyed visiting with you today. I live in Mesa, AZ but am currently visiting my daughter and her family north of Seattle. Your comment about the PNW and how the opportunity to see the sun is so good for the soul is spot on. It has been wonderful to see the sun peak in and out of the clouds here. Have a wonderful trip to Road to CA. Looking forward to hearing about it and seeing video.
Hubby is away skiing- yey I have a sewing week, good job as I have about 40 projects to do! Of course I do have to start new ones as well, BOM etc LBQ, Quilt show and catch up with last years. Interested to see the tree on the wall - yes still not finished mine but it’s on my agenda! Just filled the bird food containers exercised Monty the dog and fetched in logs as snow is predicted, now for the sewing…
Have fun on your road to CA trip. I’ve flown into Ontario, airport before. It’s lovely and easy to access. Be safe. Looking forward to your stories and pics.
I hope you have fun on the road to California. What size and type of needle do you use for hand stitching your hexies? Enzo looks quite behaved today. 😇 It's around -10 which is warm for January.
If you need an iron while you’re there - there’s always the hotel iron in your room? Do they still do that? Love watching your videos- you’ve made me feel so comfortable here & on your FB page! Eggs are a huge problem, right? I think there may be a glut of them by the fall - in the meantime- we use flax eggs a lot. I’m excited to see your progress this year on quilts - I haven’t done my January pillowcases yet, but am excusing myself because we moved into a tumbledown victorian & i need to “curate” the house ;) Have a safe trip!!
Hi Anna, I really enjoyed your video today. Glad to see you are feeling better. I on the other hand have the dreadful cold. Have a great time at Road to California. I really want to try the food carts you speak of. We always drive by but never stop. Stopping to "Breathe" is so important. It definitely helps with anxiety. Hopefully i'll make it to Sister's Quilt Show this year. It is a spectacular event for sure. The Valentine table runner you're planning on making will be adorable ❤️ Enjoy your week 🙂
Hi Anna, I will be at Road to California on Thursday, hope I run into you. I am so excited to go as I haven’t been since 2019 and it is only 35 minutes from my home. I love to see all of the quilts and the shopping is spectacular! Have a safe trip.
Hi Anna, Enjoyed your talk for the morning. Yes, it is so relaxing to have our "little" corner of the world when we are spending time in our quilting/cross-stitching space. I'm currently reading Michelle Obama newest book entitled: The Light We Carry. It is delightful so far and I am looking forward to getting more of it read. I'm also reading Beth Moore: Chasing Vines. It too is a great read so far. I'm currently doing my Winter stitching, especially anything snowman. Have a great time on your trip to CA. Have lots and lots of fun. Looking forward to hearing all about it next week. Alberta from Southern, MD....☃☃☃
You are absolutely a life enhancer. When I need a break from the stress of eldercare, I watch your videos. It's a calm, fun break for me and gets me motivated to maybe finish some of those UFOs, PIGs, WIPs, etc!
You are living the challenging life of our generation…keep on stitching…it is what keeps our sanity🙏❤️
You are a bright spot on any day that I get to listen to you while I hand quilt! or cut my fabric or any thing else I am doing! Thank you!
My husband and I have returned going to dinner and a movie. It is something we both enjoy. I love watching you and other cross stitch and quilting videos so much. Love the Valentine fabric! So old fashioned! Teacups will be perfect!
Love sitting here on this quiet foggy morning stitching while enjoying your video.
Your "broadcasts" mean the world to many of us! I always feel better after watching them - and energized!

I miss going to movies also.
Covid ruined that, we got so used to staying home that we don't want to go to a movie anymore.
Can't wait to see that cute tablerunner.
Marilyn
I hope you show a haul video!! I am the one that yelled "Quilt Roadies!!" to you as you were going out the door, it was so great to meet you!
Our paths will cross again!
Have a wonderful time at Toad to California!!
I wanted to share that I live in Southern MN and just visited Buttermilk Basin for the first time. My mom and I took a class there and fell in love with the shop

I am trying to interrupt my worrying by creating🙏❤️

Yes! It seems we are all self isolating and then our lives get quiet
Hi from sunny South Africa. We have nice cool days after a few hot humid days. Busy with log cabin blocks, just need to lay them out. You have lots of friend love fun and laughs. Safe travel and can't wait to hear all!

It seems the processes of life and living are a bit more challenging these days thank goodness we get to share and stitch❤️
Breathe is a great word. Whenever my husband is asked how he is, his response is, "Still breathing it's a good sign!"
😂😂
Thank you, sweet Anna, for sharing all things stitching with your tribe. In soon as you suggest a good book, I put you on pause for just a minute and pop over to Libby to reserve the book lol

Yes, I am looking fwd to see the latest Tom Hanks movie.
So glad Enzo is sitting up and alert today. Last video he was fallen down. I think he's great.
Thank you for the inspiring words. Hope the Road to California is as wonderful as it sounds. Stay safe & well.
Love to hear your plans and thoughts. In central IL we are having a warm January. 30°-40’s!
A Man Called Otto is excellent. But hey, anything Tom Hanks does is wonderful. Have plenty of tissues. ❤
Dear Anna, Have a great time at Road 2ca. The rain has stopped so it will be dry and sunny. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you get back!
I enjoy your chats. Sharing yourself with us. Thank you!
A bit at a time❤️
Beautiful rain in our neck of the woods.
My friends and I have been volunteering for the last 6 to 8 years enjoy it very much ❣️🪡✂️🧵💗💓💖💕😮
I was thinking how fun it would be to volunteer at a big show❤️
You will love Tom Hanks latest movie.
I just love listening to your stories! Have a great time in So Cal. Can’t wait to hear all about it 😊
We saw A Man Called Otto yesterday. Really enjoyed it.
Love you
I just love those heirloom blocks. And now with the stitching, they are coming to life!
Good morning Anna! Enjoyed our morning visit so much! Looking forward to hearing about your trip and hoping you have a wonderful time.
You are wound up in this one! Anticipation for the Ontario show and picking upcoming projects has you on a roll…you go girl! 😉
I really got used to not going places. I think of our patterns changing as our life has a change of seasons
Have a great time at the RTC!
Have a fun and safe trip Anna❤
Oh can't wait to see the table runner, materials are beautiful 😍
Have a fun trip! I love that Valentines fabric. Great idea for table runner.
I’m excited to see your progress this year on quilts - I haven’t done my January pillowcases yet, but am excusing myself because we moved into a tumbledown victorian & i need to “curate” the house ;)
Have a safe trip!!
I like making table runners too. Quick and easy and so satisfying.
Hi Anna,
Enjoyed your talk for the morning.
