How To Treat A Rotator Cuff Tear At Home For Less Than $100

  • Rotator cuff tears can nearly always heal naturally without surgery. In this video, we walk you through at home treatment to fix your rotator cuff injury.
There are 3 phases that span several weeks depending on your needs. You might even be able to skip phase 1 or 2 if your shoulder pain is not too bad and you can tolerate the phase 3 exercises.
We often get asked if therapy bands (rubber bands) are needed and the answer is NO! In fact, using rubber bands for rotator cuff problems is really only appropriate at the very end if needed.
The exercises and advice in this video are based on the latest medical research, expert experience, and past success with real patients that have escaped having a rotator cuff surgery.
Disclaimer! This treatment should not cause more shoulder pain. In fact, you should feel shoulder pain relief and possibly mild muscle soreness. If you get consistent increased pain when doing any part of this treatment program, you should seek individualized medical help. There may be more than a rotator cuff injury in your case and you need a customized plan to heal properly.

THIS GUY HEALED ME FREE ON YOU TUBE!! I had a bad rotator cuff tear and the doctor wanted to operate. I wanted to try non evasive therapy first however money is short and I can’t afford insurance. I found this guy and his exercises not only gave me immediate relief to get through my work day as a baggage handler but in a few short months I regained complete range of motion with little to no pain at all!

Did you happen to have shaking when you tried to use your arm? I have a partial tear but I have shaking with my fine motor skills, applying makeup, eating, putting earrings in, etc. I’m really hoping this can heal me with me having the shaking.

Yesss. This is why I feel like I trust him more than anyone I’ve actually met In person over my pain. He acts like he actually listens to his patients and has the knowledge to back up how to help them. Not just training, but like he’s listening, which I think is more important than the training at times!

Thank you for sharing, I injured my left arm from a rolling skating accident, x-rays was taken, I injured my rotary cuff in 4 places, This was 6 weeks ago, the doctor didn't give me a sling, said they wanted me to keep movement in my arm, what a bummer, the pain has gotten worst. I have an appointment with a sports doctor, hopefully they can give me a daily activity. I have a hard time sleeping, I wish I saw this video 6 weeks ago. 😔

I fell over a gazebo guy rope at an event - warning everyone out there of the extreme danger posed by 'insignificant' left me virtually crippled in both arms immediately - now one month of extreme pain with every upward and sideways motion. Physiotherapy helped slightly as soft tissue damage was diagnozed by a sloppy healthcare professional. Off to get new x-rays since thanks to the incredible detail of your presentation and recommendations has isolated the actual problem and effectively saved my life - without usable arms overall physical and deterioration is inevitable. Can't thank you enough.

Thank-you so much for your terrific videos on diagnosing and treating RCT, and differences between impingement, and tendinitis. You are a very good teacher, and explain it all so well. I am 56, and have had this condition for about 10 weeks. I have been doing stage one exercises for about 3 weeks, but the R.O.M in the affected shoulder is greatly reduced. When lying on my back that arm barely moves past 90 degrees when I am gently rotating it. The R.O.M is half what it should be. How can I improve and move on to cure this? I have not worn a sling, as I have to work, and can manage to compensate during the day, so I don’t aggravate it, while still functioning. Thankyou in advance from 🇦🇺Melbourne, Australia.

Is working great much thanks sir! Will continue and see how it goes. For exercise, what is okay to do in terms of gym, free weights, swimming, martial arts etc and at what phase would you recommend? As some people suggest still training weights but to be careful and change form to cater for the injury... any feedback welcome!

We have a rotator cuff tear playlist that could further aid in your recovery. You can access it here: "Rotator Cuff Tear Help"
      th-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbQ_-1YFfEePnrcxfwwf9_k.html
If you are interested we have a Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program. The program is similar to our in-person treatments minus the manual manipulation. The Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program is a comprehensive program designed to get your shoulder pain under control to allow the rotator cuff tendons to heal.
Then it guides you to correct the underlying root muscle imbalances so that you can fix the source of the problem (rather than just treat the symptoms) and get long-term relief from shoulder pain. This program works even if you've had rotator cuff surgery in the past but continue to have rotator cuff problems. To learn more please click this link: www.epmanualphysicaltherapy.com/rotator-cuff-tear-recovery-program/
Thank you again for your kind words. We wish you all the best on your road to recovery. We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

My pain is not directly in the shoulder, but in the deltoid muscle and sometimes hurts all the way down my arm. I have had that same pain in my other arm, in my neck, and shoulder and did have 5 tears in that arm which required surgery. My left arm is the one that now has pain and am wondering just what that arm pain is telling me. No real motion restrictions, just pain mainly while in bed and sometimes during the day. Is this the kind of pain that comes from shoulder tendinitis or tear?

I have to be honest, I was very sceptical in the beginning. Partly also because I was down psychologically as I could not understand why did this upper body injury happen to me. But then as I got into it, did the shrugs 🤯, got the pulley etc, I started to feel like I had my arm back again, I have been “staring” at you in the video and I cannot believe you’re sharing your advice for free. Once again, thank you very much kind Sir and I wish you nothing but blessings in your life🙏🏼😊

Hey brotha, thx for your videos buddy.
I fell into a hole the snow and it was three feet deep,
I had stepped backwards and fell to the side, but when I posted up to keep from hitting the ground and breaking a leg, my palm hit the ground and I heard a rip like the tearing of jeans and hit the ground holding my shoulder that hurt right away.
Well I dig your videos and I get the recovery info and excesizes.
Please elaborate for the guys that just hurt themselves.
    18:38 in the video..
How long should we wait and let chill? I been down two days and I tied to do the first excersize last night laying on your side and I couldn't get past 90° and up at all. Pain was excruciating and mobility zero.
    So to the question..
How long to let a fresh injury chill before we begin the part one excersizes?
    Thanks

Hi Dr! Does this treatment still apply and can I follow the same methods if I have suffered an acute rotator cuff injury from falling off my bike? I've watched all your other videos and it identifies as a rotator cuff tear, however I am already able to do all of the exercises reasonably well (I suspect just a small tear). I also do a lot of calisthenics so already have a lot of strength in this area and surrounding muscle groups. Should I still follow this routine?

    Thank you for these videos!!!
😃👍 I fell November 20, 2023. My doctor said it wasn't the rotator and sent me to 2 mos therapy. Didn't help. Did the MRI. My doc now says I need surgery saying it is the torn tendon underneath (tripped over hubbies weights in the gym while videoing my daughter ... fell on my elbow and tore my mis-named rotator). Dr., should I not feel ANY discomfort in my shoulder when I lift the weight over my head (phase 3)? Should I feel NOTHING like the other shoulder, or just discomfort or minimal pain? I feel it (light discomfort/the detached feeling). Should I just do the pully and wall shrugs until I feel ZERO discomfort with weights, or should I do the weights if I can? (Side note: I can do 15lbs pretty comfortably with bicep curls, hammers, and 10lbs for kick backs). THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!!💞💃

I am frustrated because my doctor sent me to therapy first that had me do exercise that made things worse and I finally realized I needed to stop that. Are these shrugs okay if you also have TOS on same side as rotator cuff injury?

Is there different exercises to do if your tear is in the infraspinatus as opposed to the supraspinatus? I can do phase 1 n 2, but it hurts when i drive my car. I believe my tear is in the infraspinatus.
