I get really anxious, and with recent American politics and war. I’ve just been really depressed and anxious. But I’ve seen a couple of your videos, and they calm me down and make me feel better. Your content is so soothing, and the advice is really helpful. This was a great video, helps a young teen feel just a little bit better about life and my future. Thank you man!
You're most welcome. Remember , the majority of what we worry about never happens. Concentrate on trying to make your corner of the world better. Here in the UK , our politics is crazy at the moment, but there's nothing I can do about it, so I'll let those that can get on with it, and I'll deal with what I can. I suggest you do the same. I'm humbled that you have find my videos are of use. Thank you.
I have tried and tried and tried to do something and failed. Oddly, hours later, doing something else, it suddenly pops into my head of trying a different angle. And BANG it works! Almost nothing in my life has worked the first time. If it wasn't for trying again, or listening to someone encourage me to try again, I'd never get anything done! My motto is 'try, try, try again and THEN quit because I can't actually do it.' And esp. food! I have tried eggplant, I gagged and spit it out. (Yes, I have a huge gag reflex.) But I feel proud when I say I have actually tried something and failed...I never have to waste my time trying it again!
Here's where we differ - to my way of thinking, you didn't try, you did. Just because you sometimes failed, you didn't give up, you did it again and again until you succeeded...or called it a day. To me, try is a nothing word. You Either do or you don't. My mum used to say, ' If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again', but I see that as, keep doing until you get there. As my dad proved to me as a boy, you can't try to pick a screwdriver up, you either do or don't. Hope you're well. I'd been wondering as I haven't seen you on here for a bit. Have a good weekend.
Thanks James.
You're welcome Jonathan

You’ve made a good point here. Now that I think about it, the word “try” has always given me permission to quit.

If at first you don't succeed, throw, in, the towel.
I've done that a few times when I was younger! Thanks for watching.
