You can also buy transparent sticker/labels and print directly onto it to avoid all of these steps. It ends up being a transparent sticker anyway. I used to make them all of the time for marketing. You can buy them at most office supply stores. I always purchased them from Staples. I also used an ink jet printer in case others don’t have access to a laser jet printer. Just be careful not to smear the ink and let it dry well before handling. I never had any issues but I’m sure clear spray paint or Mod Podge after they dry may help. I used clear spray paint for ink jet photos onto wood. I followed her steps but used several coats of the clear spray paint before Mod Podging it onto the wood. They turned out phenomenal. I’m all about working smarter not harder. I hope this helps someone else.
Does this mean you are printing on top of the labels? Could you cut down clear contact and print on that? I have an ink jet printer. Can you maybe upload a pic to show me what you use? Ty so much! 🤗
What kind of spray did u use? Im having problems finding exactly the right spray. Saw that Mod Podge has a spray now but don't know if it is a "fixative" spray that will keep the ink from smearing when painting on the top layer of Mod Podge. Ive heard people saw to use a clear varathane, artist paint fixative & even hair spray? I only have inkjet also & want to copy vintage greeting card image onto glass.
Wish credit had been given to the person from whom you stumbled across this fun technique. It's important to do so, even if it takes lots of effort. Thanks for sharing.
Hi❣️ I JUST discovered you and have already watched about 3 of your tutorials. 😍 Thank you for your enthusiastic, kind, caring and patient way of explaining your craft ideas. I wish you were my neighbor!😉🤗
This is just fabulous Deidre. Can’t wait to try this! I would love to be able to make my own IOD type rub on transfers. If there is anyone who can come up with an idea of how to make your own is YOU.. and I hope you can, I’d love to see what you come up with. You’ve been challenged 💚
That would be awesome! Deidre’s technique with the label backing ink transfer might work? It wouldn’t be a rub on exactly but you could probably print your image on that and then transfer it onto your project like she shows in that video. It may work until Deidre’s genius comes up with a rub on method.
I love that you don't lose anything if you forgot to mirror/reverse the image!!! That's one of the biggest worries especially if you are having to pay for the prints! Lol I also love that you're such a curious kitty and are always trying to find, better ways💗 to do things that actually makes a difference!!!💖 XOXOXO from Florida CUTIEPATOOTIE 🤗💗✌️
On glass or any non-porous items like a piggy bank, or ceramic tile.. I use transfer paper. It's a water decal paper that you can print directly on to from a laser printer. Then you just follow the directions, also it's really nice if you use a glossy clear coat over it, I recommend krylon, it dissolves the backing and makes it look seamless. Love your creativity! Thank you for sharing so much of your time and talent with all of us!
@@julzzz- I bought mine in bulk many years ago, but I just googled it and Amazon has it under, " water slide decal paper". I use a laser printer with the type of paper I have...But it looks like there's a variety of papers now that can be used with inkjet or laser printers. So much fun!😁
That is amazing, really satisfying watching that, like the bakery graphic. I print on printable acetate for frames, only have ink jet. The sticky stuff doesn't seem as reflective as glass which I like. Thank you, that is a wow.
Thank you so so much Deidre Just watched this with my coffee mug this morning just smiling and saying in my head "This Girl never stops to amaze me" You made my day! Its beautiful my next project I will be dancing all the way be very blessed x💃
Love your ideas. By the way if you flip the paper at back and pressure to plastic works ever better. And peal off back paper on top on plastic. Just like the Cricut with vinyl type procedure
Sheet protector you were saying you could use for transfers. Wondering about transparent mactac shelf liner if they have the clear stuff. Just wondering.

Just watched your video. Nice technique and good to know. I would likely stick the top edge of oversized printed transfer the work surface (table top) before contacting the clear shelf liner sheet to keep it steady while working the backing off.
Enfin j'ai trouve comment transferer des images, photos, etc facilement. J'aimerais savoir comment sit du gel mat utilise en technique acrylique peut replacer le binder ou powerprint? Merci, vous etes geniale!
hello Deirdre thank you for that tip love it!!!! I have a question for you...can you do the same thing with images from a coloring book? I don't have a printer. Thank you love your work!!!
Great video Deidre! I was wondering if I were to put it on a glass used for drinking, would the image still hold if exposed to cold/hot liquids or safe to microwave with a liquid? Most likely probably would need an adhesive on the back as well, but just wanted to make sure. I want to make something special for my mother’s birthday on Christmas Day and she is a big tea drinker. Excited to try this technique out regardless! 😊
Amazing I can’t wait to try it. I’m going to attempt it on my ink jet and spray it with clear coat like I do with waterslides. I will let you know if it works :)
I've never tried this as I don't have a laser jet (yet!), but.. As you peeled the clear paper and the image stuck to it, my mind immediately wondered, what if you put spray adhesive on the glass? Do you think the ink would adhere to the glass itself? Idk, just a thought. Thanks for the video, as always, you keep me "stuck" to my screen, wondering what you'll do next! Thanks again 👍🙏✝❤
Yeah, I would like to know how to transfer pics and script straight on the glass and be able to remove the transfer paper so that the pic/script adheres directly on the glass. God loves you. Jesus loves you and died for you. God bless you.
Couldn’t you reverse print directly onto the carrier paper(label backing paper) and apply directly to the surface of choice? It would probably need to be sealed afterwards if it’s going to be handled. But if placed on the inside of the glass it should be okay. Also could possibly try printing on a page protector or the old report covers with the slide on plastic spine. Worth a shot. My laser printer isn’t being cooperative lately to try it out. Maybe Deidre has already tried this and can let us know her results. Cheers from FL😺
This is absolutely amazing. I don't have a laser printer but I could certainly try with one printed out for me at a photo place. Darn, I just have to try this! Thank you so much.
Would it work on wax paper? Wow that does look easy I did take a piece of wax paper and ironed it on a piece of material and then ran it through my printer. It came out great.

Great idea! I would suggest to do reverse print for the framed design so the print is behind the glass, a bit glassier😀
