    In body shop in collage, we took photos and layered polyurethane over them and pealed it off when it dried. We would put them motorcycle gas tanks or car hoods helmets or whatever and sprayed a clear coat so the seam would melt in. Any high-quality print would work, even magazine pictures.

      So you sprayed polyurethane onto a photo or magazine, then when dried, you could just peel off the poly layer the image and throw it onto something with clear coat?

    You can do the same with magazine photos. That is how we made transparencies to show on overhead projectors when I first started teaching.

    I was going to say , once you stick the photo to your jar, maybe try a blow dryer or a heat gun to get the adhesive on the tape more sticky. Also, make sure you don’t touch the surface where you are going to stick the picture, because oil from your hands will make it not want to stick and it will start to bubble later on and peel off. Personally, I would use clear waterslide decal paper, print your image, spray a light coat of clear lacquer over it, let dry, cut out your image, soak it in water, slide the image onto your jar, smooth out and let it dry. Then mask it off and spray, so the lacquer covers the outside perimeter of your image by a 1/4”, to bury it in lacquer and make it permanent. Then you can wash the jar and the image is sealed onto your glass. It will never come off. Nice idea of yours though.

      May I ask, 1)where do you get waterslide paper at? 2) after you soak in water do you rub off anything and do you apply wet to the glass? Thank you so much

    I’m so delighted, l saw your video! I just purchased 49 Clear Glass Ornaments from Hobby Lobby (4” X 4” X 1” sort of like a flat cube shape) I was going to mod podge photos of my Grandkids onto them... This is so much better! Seriously, it’s serendipitous! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ♥️ Now, I just have to buy a laser printer but, I don’t care I needed a new printer anyway! ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    Love it must try for gifts to give for someone who likes to take photos. Also can use on sheet of glass for larger photos, I think. Looks like an easier way to make floating photo in those floating frames such as I once used for a beautiful tulip poplar silk moth-that photo sold🙂. It was a bear to get lined up in places and keep there. I don’t have a laser printer, but the library does😀. Thanks so much for sharing this video.

    I Love this and im so happy I found this method. I think it looks the most professional. I have a question that if a sealant after the picture is stuck on, would that help keep the picture longer? Especially if lets say the glass is used near a tub where it may get continuously wet? Figured also it may help maintain the picture after light hand washing.

    • @BFranklinCrafts
      @BFranklinCrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hi there Priscilla! A sealer can help with the pictures lifespan. If you want to add it you can use a brush-on sealer like Mod Podge or a spray (with sprays you would have to do a couple layers). You might see some streaking though on the glass, just a heads up! Maybe try practicing on another glass surface before applying. Thank you for asking!
