Great video, thanks! My 2 cents, I was able to do thia repair sitting on the driver's seat, with the unit still wired through (just disconnected for caution). Covered cup holder and open console with a cutting board and used that as a surface to work on.
So my threads(T8) didn't seem to match up with the command wheel & replacement axle. I heard you say that is was lucky that yours did...is this common?

@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos but people love German motors it makes the 1 inch penis look bigger with the branding, I remember an old work colleague of mine he worked for Volkswagen (7 years) & Toyota (for 5 years) in the main dealerships, he said "every Monday at least 2 Volkswagens would of got towed in unable to be repaired at the side of the road, and when he worked for Toyota, he got bored as it was just general servicing and maintenance from day to day, he always quoted" New Volkswagens are car's living on the back of 1980s reliability and even then in the 1980s they weren't perfect like the advertisement claimed "" if everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen"

@@Bolsam108 hi, it shouldn’t need reprogramming as this is just a mechanical repair. Maybe something isn’t lined up right or it isn’t plugged in properly?

Not so much invincible,.. just usually over engineered, over complicated and over expensive to fix.

You’re lucky. When it comes to putting it back together all you have to do is play the video backwards.
I don’t actually reassemble anything, I just edit the footage into reverse and narrate over it.
