Mercedes W204 COMAND joystick/mouse controller disassembly and repair

- Disassembly and repair of the comand joystick/mouse, which is a common issue on all mercedes vehicle equipped with the comand system. The point of failure is the plastic shaft that connects the knob to the PCB at the bottom of the unit.

Jungs, Ihr müsst das runde Plättchen mit einem Tropfen Sekundenkleber festkleben sonst ist es beim nächsten Autosaugen im Beutel vom Staubsauger.
The adhesive on it is good enough to hold it again if you keep it clean after removing it. I don’t advise to use superglue since that makes it impossible to open the unit again without breaking it.
@@andrewkamal1 Tut mir leid wenn ich Dir widersprechen muss. Es sind schon viele Plättchen eingesaugt worden und das hat mit sauber halten der Kontaktfläche nichts zu tun. Auch Deine zweite Aussage stimmt nicht. Auch ein neu geklebt es Plättchen lässt sich unproblematisch mit einem kleinen flachen Schraubenzieher abhebeln ohne es zu verkratzen. Liebe Grüße!
Superglue cannot be easily removed. If that’s your experience then must be a different glue type than the one we have in my country, which works by dissolving the two pieces together, welding the plastic. However, I agree with you that the safer option is removing the old adhesive and adding a new layer of thin double sided tape to prevent it from falling off. Thanks for the useful comment.
Seen this job on video before but thought I'd refresh my memory.
No bueno, switched it off after a couple of minutes because of the annoyingly pointless music and no explanations of the 'do's and don'ts' (of which there are many right from the start!).
