    Perfect tutorial and subscribed. Thanks very much but one thing, that dry click of the sticks is quitedistracting, almost annoying, when trying to hear the sounds. You might want to have a think about that

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot! I know about this… it works to cut it out when you’re not speaking, but if both happens at the same time it‘s tricky, also because the clip mic is sensitive to it. Also here I messed up a little with the sync in the end. But yeah- learning TH-cam and making videos on the go, and I think until now I managed already a bit better to deal with that issue 😊

    Great first introduction Jannis, thanks a lot! Just bought myself this Nord Drum 3P and so far I did not see such informative videos for the Nord Drum 3P. You did a great job! In case you want to play it with hands/fingers would you (after putting play mode on HA) put sensitivity at highest level and threshold at lowest? Any more tips to make finger playing even more easier and functional? Please continue with your informative videos. You sure make the difference on TH-cam.

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Leo, thanks for the comment- really glad you found it helpful! And for the hand mode: yes, I would make it as sensitive as possible. But apart from that I don’t really have any more specific advice on how to use it. All other settings apply like with sticks, depending on what type of sound and feel you’re going for.

    Thank you for information. It's very detailed here! But I came across to a little "problem" - do you know if it is possible to edit two or three channels at once? I know it's possible to edit one or all channels but it would come handy if there is a chance to edit two, three channels and leave other ones untouched :)

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks a lot for the warm words! Unfortunately it's not possible to edit combinations of channels. Either single pads or all pads. I agree, it would be a cool feature.

    Hi Jannis, thanks for the great video! I can’t find anywhere how to start the click to play along to, could explain how to do that?

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ash! Thanks for your comment. The Nord Drum doesn’t have an internal click, I’m using the click from Ableton Live.

    I’m sure this is a very stupid question but is the pad/base detachable from the control panel part?

  • @mr.apartment
    @mr.apartment ปีที่แล้ว

    great video, dunno if it’s possible, but if there’s a way to get rid of the sound of the stick hitting the pad, it would be easier to tell the smaller differences in tone etc. just good for thought, but unsure if it’s even possible unless you did a voice over recording. thanks for the content, very helpful

      @JannisLeWolff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for your comment! The video is already more than a year old, and I improved my Nord Drum videos since then- if you check the newer ones you'll see that the pad hitting sound is muted. But here, unfortunately there is still the pad sound and I can't remove it at this point.

    Could anyone explain to me how to clean the pads from the marks left by the sticks? I've only been playing it for an hour, with new sticks, and they're already very dirty...

    If i want to get the output on 1 jack is there some sort of 2 jack to 1 jack Y cable I should get? I have A & B inputs on my looper, but want to have the Nord on 1 and my Bass or Gui on the other.
    Your channel is going to be vital viewing as I’ve just unboxed my nice new Nord Drum 3P!

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! You can just use the L output for a mono signal. If you're using a kit that uses panning you just need to put everything back to center. A Y cable might work as well, but to me it sounds more complicated than it needs to be.

    Thank you for your video. I have a question: How to know what drum sound is stored in a channel? I cant find a way to know what is the number of the drum sound on each pad.

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment! I don't really understand what you mean by the number of the drum sound?

  • @tozow
    @tozow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks a lot for that video! It surely helps a lot - even with some knowledge on synthesis. I'd like to ask a question. In the video, the click of your stick on the pad is way earlier than the drum sound. Is that en editing issue oder does the device really hat such a delay?
    Thanx in advance ;)
    Cheers!

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tobi- thanks for your comment, I'm always happy to hear that it was helpful. Haha, don't worry about the latency, it's all on my side. It's some quite challenging recording process for my videos because I have multi-audio output devices, and the sound of the mic always gets to the screen recording a little earlier than the DAW sound. Still working on making this more flawless, but I'm already impressed how my computer is dealing with all those audio streams 😄

      @@JannisLeWolff - whew. good news :) Thanks again!
      And maybe I can help. In my (not public) video productions I avoid that like this: first thing is to put all the video and audio tracks in the timeline and then I sync it _once_ so that there is no delay.
      The rest of the production I cut and arrange, but the fragments stay where they are (time-wise), even when parts of it are cut out. Maybe it is a workflow you can adapt. If not, never mind! Please continue doing these videos!

    Hey thanks! Is it possible to send only the kick out in a differant channel then all 5 others tracks can go to distortion and kick stay clean. I see there's a jack with written kick but it feels like not working, I guesss it's just to use a pedal to trigger the kick?

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly- it's for connecting a kick trigger pedal. You can use panning for separating audio into 2 channels as long as you don't use the stereo effects, so in your case you can pan your kick hard left and record it on a mono track while the other stuff is hard panned right, sent through distortion and recorded on another mono track. But as soon as you use reverb or delay they will spill into the other channel. Hope it works :)

    Hey Jannis. Does it have a looper?

    • @JannisLeWolff

      Hey Theodore. No, you have to use something external to loop (DAW, pedals etc).

  • @Jeffreya348

    Can I find thunder, rain or air in the pad?

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn’t have any samples on it. You might find something resembling those sounds but not as samples. All sounds it can play are made with the internal synthesizer unless you use midi.
