  • We feature the Riverfront area and Heartland of America Park in this video of Omaha Nebraska. Heartland of America Park has an amazing Water Fountain, it had to shoot about atleast 250 feet in the air. I had to be careful when shooting over it that the water didn't reach my drone.

    Ah, so this is what "fly-over" America looks like. Honestly, it's impressive. I'll have to visit someday. I bet there are so many great places like Omaha in middle America that I don't know about or misunderstand.

    Each area of the city has it's own personality and they are all very interesting. North Omaha and South Omaha are rich in history and are worthy of a tour. Many delicious restaurants and beautiful historic homes and buildings. And I really wish people would stop referring to these areas as "slums" or "ghettos". Who says that anymore?

    Lived in Omaha for 4 years and loved it more often than not. It can definitely be comfortable, but like any city it has its issues. It's a bubble for many people who have lived their whole lives there. The brain drain problem everyone talks about is real, I can attest to that because I was a casualty of it. I took my skills and moved elsewhere to a place a little less regressive. I think about moving back every now and then, but I know I would just want to move elsewhere after a few years again. It was a time and place, I'll always be grateful for it!

As far as the view, I spent 6 months travelling around in (mostly wilder parts) of California, and I dearly missed being able to see the horizon.

      Out of all those places you mentioned, Omaha is the most walkable of them. It is a great city better than those that you mentioned that I've visited. Those southern cities, don't emphasize walking, have highways all over the place, that reduce value. Traffic congestion strip malls and giant parkinglots.

Plus, showing cornfields at the beginning is so inaccurate it's not even funny. We are a CITY, we don't have farmland in the city. You are literally stereotyping us just because that's what you think of when you hear Nebraska. Please do more homework before making these videos, or at least title them more accurately. Other than that, nice footage.

      Heart of America Park has not been torn down... the entire green space from Gene Leahy Mall to riverfront Lewis and Clark Landing is being renovated. Once completed in 2023, HOA Park and it's iconic fountain will return.

    Can anyone tell me hows the live music scene in Omaha?

    • @sinatrav3731
      @sinatrav3731 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I seen Lil Uzi Vert At Sokol Auditorium. That concert wasn’t comfortable, it was extremely hot in the venue, and it was kind of small. The energy from the crowd was amazing though. I also seen Logic at Baxter Arena, that one was way more comfortable, definitely louder and there was thousands of people. Definitely wasn’t as hot. I liked the area of both venues, I liked Sokol more due to it being closer to downtown. The skyline is always beautiful when I go.

      The live music scene is plentiful in a metro of 1 million in population like Omaha. Anyone who minimizes this is just hating on the city. There is much variety and live music in the Omaha metro 7 days a week. That is reality.

      @@tromo03 seems pretty dead downtown Omaha

    • @tromo03
      @tromo03 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaron Day um wrong. Straight wrong. Downtown is extremely “lively”. In a larger metro like Omaha, live music is common in venues all over the place. And there is variety 7 days a week. Unlike small metros like Lincoln where the variety and offerings are much less. I’m just stating reality here. If you love your small metro, Lincoln, that’s great, For it’s size, it probably punches above its weight.. But it does not compare, at all, to the multitude of offerings in Omaha- which is 2 and 1/2 times larger.

    Well I live right here in Omaha, Nebraska. I would have moved out long ago if it had not been for my wife just saying NO. Here's just a few reasons why I hate living here. 1. The weather here really sucks-from mid NOV to late MARCH its very cold/snowy/windy/and just plain miserable. As an example just this last FEB. there were many days in a row with below zero temps and if you add in the winds the "WIND CHILL INDEX" on many days was 20 to 35 below zero. Not exactly picnic weather!!! 2. In the summer there is very High Humidity and the damn MOSQUITOES come out about 6PM and drive you crazy. Iam somewhat allergic to them so cannot be outside after about 6PM. 3. Because of the Low Population base the property taxes here are much higher than many other cities and states. My mill levy here is 2.8% which is way higher than many other places. 4. We don't have any Pro Teams so you're either a Husker fan or you just aren't anything. 5. Probably the one thing I would say that is a good thing is Omaha is a relatively conservative and you don't really find too much of the Left Wing Radicals here---THANK GOD.
