The other day I saw a Waymo almost go into the scene of a crash . It was so confused did not know to go to the right lane, the police had to get in-front of it to stop it from going into the intersection were there was a crashed motorcycle and crashed car. Pretty scary.
As of today, they flee pretty immediately once they see emergency vehicles with their lights on. It rerouted me one time because it saw an ambulance pulled over with it's lights on.
I believe, the whippers react to the lidar from the other Waymo vehicle parked in front of it, we see it here in SF a lot with all the other autonomous vehicles interacting with the Waymo vehicles

Its a death machine robot. Autonomous cars are one of the biggest dangers to society. Singularity is a terrifying thought I'd be terrified with one in my neighborhood. In 2007 I told someone I could never trust a car to drive itself. Someone stated not now but if technology evolves maybe they could. I stated driving on public road with infinite variables is too much to trust. They stated I think such a thing is closer than you think. I took that to mean as maybe in my lifetime and I was only 23 at the time. How my fears became a reality in not even 10 years from that point in the early 2010s Just thankful they are no where near mainstream and only in test and taxi services. But that is frightening enough. Just say no before these overtake our freedom and threaten our safety and liberty.

Perhaps all those gizmos needs to stay cool or it overheats so the cars cooling system is providing cooling to all the Lidar systems or whatever other gadgets are on the car. Its not just sitting quietly.
I live in an older neighborhood where not everyone has driveways, and there are also a lot of apartments. People who live there need to park on the streets. Any car parked tehre that does not belong to a resident is taking up space a resident might need.

If an 18 wheel commercial vehicle can't park in a public residential street then a WAYMO commercial vehicle shouldn't be allowed either!
