Awesome bro, I caught a 13lb salmon and a 12lb sea run brown trout on 6lb braid and a 6lb mono leader with a cheap ultralight rod, the fight was unreal, both took over 30mins to get them in the net. Great way to test your knots lol

@@ifishcatfish Yeah man thats crazy to land such a big fish on such small diameter line congratulations!! My braid was daiwa evo+ at 0.08mm and the mono was daiwa triforce at 0.18mm. Good content. Could you help me? I ordered a Shimano Expride 2,08m 4-12g rod, and I´m considering pairing it with a Vanquish. Do you think size 2000 is too big or should I get the 1000? I mainly fish for perch and zander, but there´s a considerable risk of hooking a huge pike as well.
if anything size 2000 is too small. It has very small gears. If u cast 4 gram all day its OK. If u cast 8-10 gram all day i would go 2500 size. Also that is a BIG and HEAVY rod! This is NOT ultralight fishing! I think buying a Vanquish for that rod is a waste of money, as the feeling of the big rod will overwhelm the finesse of the reel. I would personally buy the Vanford 2500 or the brand new Tatula LT in 2500. They will feel just as good as Vanquish on that big and heavy rod
@@ifishcatfish Thanks for the advice. The average lure weight I use is about 10g so maybe I´ll give the Vanford a try (they don´t sell the Tatula here in Finland).
