I’m a new pond owner and your videos have helped me as a beginner. I am in the planning stage of doing diy bog filter. I have a 1,800 to 2,000 L/hr pump, how big should my pvc pipes be? Thank you
@@kcpe3939 yeah, size of pvc will matter.. and it’s always better to oversize. The reason being the water is being pumped into the filter under pressure, but will be leaving just through gravity. So if the output pipe is not big enough the water won’t be able to exit quick enough and the filter will over flow. I would go for at least 2 inch pvc for the outflow. You can also add a flow control if you need to, that way you can turn the flow down if the water isn’t exiting the filter quick enough.
I use the same filter on my ond but i left the pump in the pond, as it had a uv built in, and took the impellor out of the fluval and left it unplugged obyiously 🙂, this means there is no priming to do 👍
Awesome update man yeah for sure you gotta use that pond tubing it’s way better…. instead of drop it down in the 30s here in Cleveland already so we’re happy we have our pond inside because man we woulda had to bring em in if we didn’t
Thanks man, yeah, i feel happier about it going through the winter now I’ve got the proper pond tubing!! Still hoping we don’t get too harsher winter this year though.. 🥶
Hi , you have done a lot of work on this pond it really looks amazing. Mo looks very content with his two friends. 😊
Thank you! Yeah, good old Mo! He may not be the best looking goldfish ever, but he’s a little character! 😊
@@GingerFishyOfficial I think he is a little cutie pie 🥧

I’m glad the videos have helped! Do you mean the pvc pipe that you would use for the outlet/ outflow?
@@GingerFishyOfficial yes. will the size of the pvc matter?
