    Argos have got these amazing black metal industrial shelving units. I’ve got all my nanos and tarantula collection on them.

    Awesome jungle update in the fishroom! Those guppies have been busy over the winter lol….female betta princess aquarium would be fun for the 15 gallon!

    Hi ,great to see Mo and the gang looking so happy and healthy. Please would you remind me how you set your heaters up in the pond , was it using an inkbird?.
    Do you have a video of setting up the tank for your fancy goldfish please ,
    This make over is awesome ,you are pretty talented with DIY . Well done. 😊🐓🐔🐡🐠🐟🍀☘️🌿🌵🌴🌳🌲

      Hi Suzanne, thank you! Yeah, I use an inkbird thermostat to control my heaters.. it’s the ICT-308S model, which it the basic model and is the easiest to use. I just got mine on Amazon.
      How is your pond doing? Coming into Spring ok?
      I have indeed got a couple of videos of the goldfish tank setup, I think the key to a goldfish tank is keeping it simple, for ease of maintenance. I’ll link the setup videos below:

    I love the look of your fish room! Could I ask how you built the wood covers to your aquariums? I don't want to pay those high prices for a cover so I'd like to build my own and I love the look of yours!

    Thank you so much for the links . I will watch the videos now.
    My house move has been delayed so I have just finished painting my new pond whilst my goldfish are enjoying swimming in my sisters nature pond for the time being. I am hoping to make a feature bog filter using a wine barrel. I just need to decide on what size piping to use. Unfortunately, I don't get an A☆ for DIY.😢 😮😅

    • @GingerFishyOfficial
      @GingerFishyOfficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bog filter in a wine barrel sounds great! I’ve got an old Belfast sink I was thinking might make a nice little bog filter for a little pond at some point.
      When it comes to piping I tend to use what ever is the biggest that will fit the pump I’m using. That said, bog filters don’t require too much flow, so smaller diameter hosing/ piping is often fine, so long as it fits the pump.
      So setting up the pond and the new bog filter will be a nice summer project for you then! 😊 ☀️ 🌱🐟

      A Belfast sink will look really cool as a bog filter. Good thinking 🤔 👍
      I have a canister filter at the moment . But it is far too small and needs cleaning a lot. So a bog filter will look much better and be less work in the long run. Thanks for your help and advice.
      I'm already looking forward to seeing your next video. 😊

    Looking grand mate, really nice space! Those goldies are looking well, love a blackmoor!
    That tank would be great for some rainbow shiners, a bit spendy but look great and are OK to breed apparently. Think I'm going to have a crack at breeding them this summer.

      @GingerFishyOfficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you, mate! Yeah, I’m pleased with how the goldfish are doing! I hadn’t thought of rainbow shiners, I’ve never kept them before, but from just doing a quick search they do look cool, and I see they do well at lower temps, which would be good! How’s your pond doing now we’re coming into Spring? Did you say you turn your pumps off over the winter?

      @@GingerFishyOfficial thanks for the reply. I do yeah, just turned everything back on this week, everything's good so far. Started feeding wheatgerm with garlic. The bog filter still needs some repair, doing that while I'm off next week though.
      Recently bought myself a rack to breed some rice fish indoors, should be fun!

      Yeah, I’m thinking I might properly take my covers off this weekend. Just never know with the weather at the moment…
      Rice fish rack sound awesome, I was thinking about them as a possibility for the spare tank!

      @@GingerFishyOfficial it is crazy at the moment, forecast 18 degrees here tomorrow, my water temp was 12 this morning.
      I sold off my of my rice at the end of the summer last year, I'm down to a group of 10. First time keeping them in an aquarium, gotta say, for a small fish, bags of personality, really fun fish

      Thank you! Yeah, I’ve got a Spring opening video hopefully coming soon, so that will include any updates on the ponds. Also, I’m thinking of doing like a full garden tour including all the ponds and chickens.

    a beta fish would do well in tiny tanks just need a tiny heater water quality is not important just temp.

      @GingerFishyOfficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m actually really keen to get a beta fish, as I’ve never had one before.. so that’s a definite possibility! 🐟

      @@GingerFishyOfficial they are interesting you can only keep one male in a tank as they will fight i bred a pair and it is very interesting to watch the male squeezes female eggs pop out and he picks them up as they sink and builds a bubble nest by blowing air at surface they actually breath air from surface then you take female out and male raises fish hatchlings they are microscopic so its a pain to feed the fry.

    Being the 5th of April now, when will you be opening up your ponds?

    • @GingerFishyOfficial
      @GingerFishyOfficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have started doing a few things already, but I like to try spread it out over 2/3 weeks rather than doing everything in one go, so as not to shock the ecosystem type thing.. annoyingly the weather has been a bit all over the place, and I even heard other day we might be getting snow.. which I’m hoping is not true.. 😬 but yeah, the process has begun and plants have started growing, so hopefully not too long now. 👊

  • @ranger178
    @ranger178 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    you have not opened up your pond yet? ours is starting to grow plants and fish are getting active.

      I just finished the last few bits of my pond opening up process weekend just gone, so hoping to have the video out this Sunday coming! But yeah, plants have pretty much all started growing back, and fish defo get more active! 🌿
