When that kid called him on that day, he instant fangirled into a squee and proceeded to say that he loved all his videos n that he watches all of them all the time. His first review that he ever watched was his old Sonic 06 review years ago. After a guy somepeoplecalledjohnny said thank you and hung up, Johnny proceeded to delete his phone number off of his page and listed to email him in order to get into contact with him in order to reach him. Back to the kid tho, he saved Johnny into his house phone and didn't call it for months, maybe even a year. He then called him again on the exact day that Johnny Reviewed the original Super Mario Bros. Johnny said hello but that kid had gotten nervous and said nothing except, "HEY JOHNNY ITS BEEN AWHILE K THX BAI!" Kid hung up the phone and hasn't called him since he forgot his number years ago but decided not to be to impulsive on getting it because it was theguythatpeoplecalledjohns privacy and he didn't want him to hate said kid. The kid was 11 when he first called him, now he's 17 Damn it In case u didn't notice that kid was me. Happy 10th anniversary buddy!
I have to agree Johnny is relaxing. I think the reason why is because he is down to earth. Many youtubers are loud, shout all the time, and are just bouncing off the walls. Johnny just talks though. He sits with his Coffee and talks, not raising his voice unless a game gives him reason to. It's quality entertainment. Shouting and that bonkers stuff can be entertaining, but it wears thin quickly. This channel is the only one that I think I have watched all the videos for because I never get burned out watching them. Even though the old ones are cringy, it still shows what future videos would prosper with. Here is to the first 10 years, and all the years to come. I have been a subscriber for years, and as long as there are quality videos, I will be watching Johnny for years more. Congrats on 10 years Johnny... Elliot too.

For example, Datai recently also made a 10-year retrospective video where in just a few minutes told the story of his channel's beginnings, and it was amazing. Not sure how I missed this one. I've been with this channel for at least 7 years, and the video that brought me to it was the Batman Arkham city review. I really appreciate John's laid back style, but also, dude you are legit funny. Your humor is always with these incredible quick dead pan lines that always make me laugh. Every now and then you throw a more heated or energetic zinger that is good change of pace too. This made me respect John more, very humble beginnings, very down to earth style.
Holy shit. I think I found this channel in 2010, obviously through Month of Sonic 2 since I was on some sort of Sonic high in general then. And lord, am I glad I stuck around. Your work always struck one of the best balances on TH-cam between being funny/entertaining and informative, really getting across your views on games that's always held my attention. I always think of the Splatoon video as the video where you properly found your online personality. You mention in your Adventure 1 review that you didn't know if you'd found your style/persona yet, and I was already a big fan by that point, but the combination of the improved look and the development of the humour (I love your style of humour, the quiet, humble tone with the occasional snap zoom) was when I think you truly hit your stride and didn't look back - until now of course. But yeah, been a fan since the Mario Wii let's play, here's to another 10 years!

It's really unbelievable that there are channels that I've been following for a decade, before finally deciding to make some Let's Plays myself. For example, Datai recently also made a 10-year retrospective video where in just a few minutes told the story of his channel's beginnings, and it was amazing. Not sure how I missed this one. I've been with this channel for at least 7 years, and the video that brought me to it was the Batman Arkham city review. I really appreciate John's laid back style, but also, dude you are legit funny. Your humor is always with these incredible quick dead pan lines that always make me laugh. Every now and then you throw a more heated or energetic zinger that is good change of pace too. This made me respect John more, very humble beginnings, very down to earth style.

Holy shit. I think I found this channel in 2010, obviously through Month of Sonic 2 since I was on some sort of Sonic high in general then. And lord, am I glad I stuck around. Your work always struck one of the best balances on TH-cam between being funny/entertaining and informative, really getting across your views on games that's always held my attention. And I'm happy to say that's held up wonderfully. Seeing you grow throughout the years and thinking back on your early, SGB-era videos compared to where you are now is just insane and I wish nothing but the best for you, Elliott, Matt, Mark, Ryan, Lewis, Ted, Clement, Garrett, and all the rest of the folks. I always think of the Splatoon video as the video where you properly found your online personality. You mention in your Adventure 1 review that you didn't know if you'd found your style/persona yet, and I was already a big fan by that point, but the combination of the improved look and the development of the humour (I love your style of humour, the quiet, humble tone with the occasional snap zoom) was when I think you truly hit your stride and didn't look back - until now of course. But yeah, been a fan since the Mario Wii let's play, here's to another 10 years!
