The only reason why the characters are interrupting eachother is because they didn't bother to make the sequencing optimized for the English version. That's why the Japanese version does not have characters interrupt each other. That's also why nothing lip syncs in the English version.
A comment from one year ago rather than 3 months ago or 3 days ago... It's almost more sad seeing this because it makes me wish we could go back to those times instead of this nonsense happening in the internet today. When the biggest problems being addressed were bad games
Fun fact: to spite those that hated big the cat, they snuck him into every single level, theres a hidden big in every signal stage as joke, at the expense of those that hated him
@@perdixgeek807 yeah he's even on the final boss level if you zoom out the camera all the way I'm pretty sure you able to see him if you do some glitches
ThoseKokiriKids I'm not sure what it is I specifically like about them but I'd agree that Tails/Eggman stages aren't really very fun at all. Still one of my favourite games though, even if only for nostalgia's sake
It's like the old joke. "a penguin walks into a bar, and asks the bartender.. have you seen my father? did he come in here today? and the bartender says... hmm not sure, what does he look like?" get it?
I always played Tails/Eggman stages for chaos drives, that way I could tell from a distance what color drive was released before I accidentally grabbed the wrong color.
PKMNTrainerRED sonic heroes has mixed reviews, some don't like it a handfull hate it, and others like it. I've barely played it and I can call it "Its alrite"
PKMNTrainerRED You and my brother apparently. He rented it from our local video store using my account. I get a call six months later from them about late fees for the game. My brother never returned it, I ended up having to buy the game and pay the late fees. Bastard still owes me for that.
Fun fact: they never covered it in the game, but there was a mini-comic series that showed Maria rushing Shadow to one of the escape pods. Right as he was about to evacuate safely, a GUN soldier popped out and *shot a little girl in the fucking chest.* With her last bit of strength, she hits the eject button and tells him goodbye. Not the most groundbreaking writing, but it hit me in the feels when I was 11. And yeah, those Chao segments are incredibly fun. I spent so many hours getting a Dark Shadow Chao. MATERNAL NOSTALGIA POWERS ACTIVATE!
i think i'm the only person on the entire planet who likes all the level types in SA2. I like the speed stages, I like the emerald hunting stages, I *prepares flame shield* like the mech stages
You are not the only one. I remember hating the emerald stages but after beating the game on my second play through I spent more time on them and they were awesome!
Well actually I like the speed stages (like everybody) and the treasure hunting stages. But my opinion on the knuckles/rouge levels is that they require a lot more training to be enjoyable, and a lot of luck to A-rank them. For Tails/Eggman I don't agree with you but it's good to have sonic fans with different opinions. I would have prefer SA stages for tails, and maybe something like ghost in the shell on PS1 for eggman.
I liked the Mech stages, and some Sonic ones, but the Treasure hunting ones... UGH... I couldn't even beat Pumpkin Hill because the layout confused me so much. And that's the main reason I don't like Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic Adventure 1? The controls are too sensitive for me to like it. But Sonic Heroes? If you control Knuckles, it's a pretty fun game.
I agree with Jared in this. (Big The Cat aside,) I like Sonic Adventure 1 better. Knuckles stages were more suited to his abilities, and Tails WASN'T IN A MECH. Eggman makes SENSE to be in a mech, BUT That's NO excuse to why Tails has to be in one too!
ContraZombie4 You just pet them and give them animals/food, after a while you can name them, send them to classes to learn new things. Once their skills have increased you can put them into races and katate, Then they can evolve into adult stages, the way you raise them also changes how they evolve (for example, feeding them constant speed drives with sonic turns them into a sonic chao, or feeding them ghosts makes them float and takes their legs away). The mechanics are pretty deep in the chao garden
***** Pretty deep, minus the fact that you just told me you win the races and such by just feeding them and petting them. Maybe i'm just not looking at this right.... I'm PROBABLY not looking at this right...
ContraZombie4 It's not exactly deep, see Chao has stats like stamina, power, fly, speed, etc. You can raise the stats by giving them items or animals. You can buy items from a market using rings you collected, and you can get animals from defeating enemies. This give a PERFECT excuses for you to replay your favorite stages, as you can raise your chao alongside replaying stages. Besides that, there's really not much else, save for chaos just being cute as fuck. It's essentially a tamagotchi inside a sonic game, yes you don't take direct control of the chao, I mean, when's the last time you possess your dog?
Captain Truth I mean there's the potential of the chao's stats (Can range from E to S), meaning an S ranked flying chao with level 60 flying can do better than an E ranked flying chao with level 70-80. To get the best possible chao you need to breed those S ranked chao's together. There's also the Good/Bad Meter to see if it evolves into a good chao or bad chao. How the chao is raised also effects it's personality, and a happy/sad meter, which is determined by how it was treated, such as an abused chao will be sad and abuse others (even run away I believe). You also have the hidden stats "Luck" and "Intelligence" which helps in races, to point out the obvious, luck helps with the luck based mingames and intelligence raises the Chaos chance of understanding "Right, this square goes into the Square hole". Thus having an advantage in races. The chao's personality also effects how well it does, having "Crybaby, curious, or short tempered" Will effect how it does in races, for example a Crybaby chaos luck/intellegence is set to 5 with no way of raising them, a curious chao has double intellegence gain but 0 luck (with no way of raising luck, so it'll also be unlucky) and a short tempered chao has double luck gain but no intellegence (and no way to raise intellegence, it'll always be stupid). It's personality is determined by a TON of things, such as how many friends it has, how it was raised, what it learns in classes, what fruit it eats/how much it eats, Chao's also evolve 2 times before finally reincarnating or dying. to get the best possible chao, you need to raise the best possible chao then get it to reincarnate to an even better chao. Doing it takes a lot of effort and it's challenging. The type of chao you get is dependant on the drives/animals you give it. There are also special types of chao that are very hard to obtain, such as a Chaos Chao or a Sonic Chao which require strict rules to create. I wasn't lying when I said it's deep, it's well thought out, and I haven't even gone on to discuss how to breed chaos, how different colourd eggs change the chao, what kind of breeds there are, special breeds, bright chaos, recipies for really unique chaos (although recipies aren't a mechanic, just a really weird combonation that gives weird looking chaos), etc.
I actually liked the knuckles stages. But yeah you're right about the "raising chaos rewarded you for replaying the levels you liked over and over" thing. Tails and Eggman stages were awful. I forgot the car levels were even there.
Lyle McDouchebag The Eggman Stages were quite good, the tails one were just bad. Same goes to Knuckles, his was good, Rouge was bad. I actually think that the new Sonic games arent really that good, cause you dont have different play styles like in SA2. I dont like running the whole time, cause the stages get more worse the more Speed stages there are. And the real reason why SA2 is awsome is in the end the amazing soundtracks.
4:15 I will give credit to Sonic X on this one. In the show, the video they have of shadow stealing the Chaos Emerald is dark, and a bit blurry, so all they could make out was the shape of an anthropomorphic male hedgehog with a shit-eating grin. Considering the fact that the only anthropomorphic male hedgehog with a shit-eating grin they've seen so far is Sonic, since he's from another world, it would make sense.
Sonic X isn't the worst show to watch in the world; its just one of the worst DUBBED shows to watch. The original from what I saw is so much better...even if its weird hearing Sonic in Japanese...
Sonic X actually makes the plot of Sonic Adventure 2 (and at least one plot element used in Shadow the Hedgehog) much more coherent. Credit where it's due, they did a better job telling the stories of the games they're writing these episodes for than the games ever did.
Sonic X is a perfectly fine show, bearing Chris Thorndyke. Not that great, it's certainly no Dragonball Z or Avatar the Last Airbender, but it's just fine.
Just kidding. It's actually been quite a while since the last time I've seen anything Sonic X related... oh, God. The nostalgia makes me wanna rewatch the whole show now.
Blowing up half the moon would destroy the earth anyways. The asteroids left over from it would rain down destroying cities & impacts would end up covering most of the world in clouds & volcanic ash while the tides would get fucked up from the moons lesser gravitational pull. So he pretty much destroyed the Earth when he blew up the moon. His grandfather would be so proud.
Golden Age Gamer Forget the tides, the change in gravity, the wobble could cause the Earth to even crash into the Sun frankly. (Or go flying off into space... or settle into any number of strange new orbits...)
If you think this feels bad, imagine being bulled by hundreds of thousands of people all at the same time for months and months because a couple of kids Tweeted bad things about you with no proof. I IMAGINE THAT FEELS PRETTY BAD. But no, you're right, I should lay off. Wouldn't want anyone feeling guilty.
@nightmare Shadow So we're not supposed to make examples out of people who don't take "Innocent until proven guilty" as a mantra to prevent more of this shit from happening? Because that's ultimately what you are at this point. An example.
From what I understand the reason the voice actors act oddly like that in the cutscenes is that when they recorded their lines they were given no context for the scenes. No preview, no direction, not even the other actors involved in the scenes as well. They simply had to read their lines how they figured it should sound, pretty much just speaking out in a vacuum. Also the reason why they talk over each other was because the cutscenes are set to the Japanese lip movements. Some Japanese words are spoken faster than English. Sega rather than localizing and adjusting the cutscenes for English just left them the same and slapped the English audio on top and the rest is history.
Fractorification someone gets it ^_^ It would be to much work for them to create two scripts for the in engine cutscnes, nowadays the cutscenes are animated for English first then the other languages are just dubbed over it. 06 had some of the in cutscenes mocapped by japanese actors causing it to look like the mouths were barely moving, however the CG ones were animated for English first .
I just want a dedicated Chao Garden game. Seriously, I still absolutely ADORE the gardens. I'm a sucker for raising creatures. Pokemon, Monster Rancher, NiGHTS, you name it! Honestly, I feel like the main campaign of Sonic Adventure is just an elaborate minigame for the Chaos.
I agree with you that leveling up your Chaos was the best part of the game. But, SA2 is overrated to no end. (Well, I guess I could say that about any Sonic game.) This was not "the last great Sonic game" or "The greatest Sonic Game ever", and it's certainly not the best game on the Sega Dreamcast.
***** It should link to other Sega games like what the Game-Cube ports did, because I loved getting the exclusive stuff. I loved the ones in PSO and if they did it with PSO2 like they're doing with Sonic endless runner with Choa Garden, then that would add replay value!
MissedTitan That's all I want. That's all I've ever wanted since SA2B. Honestly I just wanted the Chao Garden to become it's own game completely separate from Sonic, it was solid enough to be a standalone franchise and it would have sold like gangbusters. Sonic, meanwhile, needs to be visually reverted to the cute Classic Sonic design that never talks and only moves on a 2D plain. That was the best part of Sonic Generations, he was so much more endearing than Modern Sonic and his "too cool for school" dialog that never fucking stops.
laprasking That's exaclty what I was about to write lol. But yeah, I mean Sega has clearly embraced the mobile market. I know a LOT of people would love to see a mobile Chao Garden game.
How about going on the internet and saying that Metroid Other M is the best Metroid? Or saying that Activision's Crash Bandicoot is better than Naughty Dog's?
Just to explain the "Wish" thing: Shadow didn't literally mean he would grant Eggman's wish like a genie. He meant he would help Eggman gather the Chaos Emeralds, which could be used to power the Arc's cannon. Eggman could then use the cannon to demand whatever he wanted (his "wish"). Eggman believed this was their plan. Shadow, however, was lying about this. He knew that activating the cannon would trigger Gerald Robotnik's failsafe to crash the colony and "avenge" Maria by destroying humanity, and that was his goal until the end of the game when Amy talked him out of it. In addition to it's other faults, this game really doesn't explain the plot very well.
Is it just me, or does ProJared have a way of saying certain ordinary lines that makes them sound absolutely hilarious? For just one example, the phrase "A truck that's the size of _every house_" would be a mildly humorous observation in another review, but is completely hilarious the way he says it. (Another example is the "Seriously. That is him. They stole this." line from the "Worst Console Ever" video.)
Now that I think about it, SA2 got rid of so many great things from the original Sonic Adventure game, like the hub worlds and the character specific stories. It actually feels like an adventure with everyone’s story being connected into one big plot line.
They removed the hub world because in the story, you are always in a rush and making a hub world would have slowed down the game (Not at all saying that Hub World sucks, All I wanna say is that it would wouldn't make sense with the story of Sonic Adventure 2)
@@okagron I do agree they could've added the radar to work on all emeralds at once, but that doesn't break the game either way. Also, gamma's controls were designed with his stages in mind, and vice versa for Eggman and Tails. I think their controls fit well for their stages as it keeps the difficulty in check so you cant take shortcuts not meant to be taken.
The game could've been a lot better if any of the stages besides Sonic made any sense for the character you play them with. Knuckles is hot headed, egotistical brute. Why not give him a beat em up stage? Tails is an 8 year old genius with an IQ of 300. Why not give him puzzle stages? The Sonic stages work so well because they go along with what makes Sonic who he is. Speed. And I don't know about you guys, but when I think of Knuckles and Tails, I don't really think of fetch quests and 3rd person shooters.
***** If knuckles was a GOOD guardian, he wouldn't let it break in the first place. And name one level where tails used his machines that was actually fun.
***** I just feel that the levels don't fit the characters. Yes, Knuckles guards the master emerald with his life, but centering his story around it is just unnecessary, and I feel they could've done much better with the presentation. If they want knuckles searching for the emerald shards, that's fine, but making his levels centered around a wild goose chase with occasional enemies is a poor way to present it. They just as easily could've just made a beat em up stage with a shard of the master emerald at the end or being held by bosses.
Aquatic Mine, Mad Space, and fuck that ending boss for Shadow on normal campaign. Took me FOREVER. But honestly, most levels aren't... that great. And I actually like breaking up types of game play in it, and making it clearly obvious who is doing what. Sonic/Shadow = fast, Tails/Eggman = shooty, Knuckles/Rouge = hide and seek, and nothing really changes, so we know what's going to happen. Which is a bonus that new games don't have. The skills required of you are very consistent and they don't throw new shit at you regularly, and they don't put you in crap overworlds. I don't know, something about the way the way this game was put together made it... more tolerable. Though he could be right, it could just be Chaos.
It's okay to like/love a flawed game. Heck, I love Skyward Sword even though people hate it, but I don't go out of my way to tell people why they're wrong when it gets criticized. Enjoy the games you play, but be willing to hear criticism.
Nathanthepoe I love the shit out of Bubsy 3d for some reason, but if people want to call it the worst game of all time I can see where they're coming from.
Only half of Unleashed featured speed gameplay, so it was considered a bad game. But speed gameplay makes up less than a third of SA2 and its somehow the best sonic game?
***** Jared, your analogy about Lucky Charms is apt, but the dye in the marshmallows makes my poop turn weird colours. What does that say about Sonic Adventure 2?
Orginally designs for shadow had him looking much closer to sonic. The main difference is shadow had a scar and darker blue fur. It is belviable with that design that people might confuse him and sonic with only quick looks and in darkness.
I'd still argue it WOULD make sense for people to confuse these two: both 3'3 hedgehogs that move fast, similar looks, Sonic has been seen by many people transforming into Super Sonic (in SA1) and who's quills are raised exactly like Shadow's, in fact show anyone irl who is vaguely familiar with Sonic a photo of him, they know him and all that but then show them a picture of Shadow, wouldn't their response be "Hey that kinda looks like Sonic"
Who gives a shit what the concept art looked like, it doesn't make any sense in the finished game. I swear, Sonic fans will say the dumbest shit to defend these games lmao
A lot of people are like "WHY HAVEN'T WE GOTTEN SONIC ADVENTURE 3 YET !?!?!" we did, it was called sonic '06, it had everything a both sonic adventure games had previously(minus the chao garden) multiple stories that had overlapping moments, all three stories making you play as 3 different characters(in some cases 4) all stories leading to one moment, and of course terrible multiplayer, along with dumb boss fights. if sega had more time to work on the game, it probably would be called "Sonic Adventure 3"
Adam Wolf I swear I'm the only one who absolutely detests SA2, I hate everything about it, SA1 is awesome tho! :D funny how every time an American company takes hold of Sonic they produce a bad or mediocre game...
A small part of my childhood came back listening to the instrumental on that intro song and nailing the timings despite not having heard the song in years. Good review btw.
"Make Knuckles about hitting things! But don't make him... you know. *shows picture of Sonic Boom's Knuckles*" Yeah! They should make him more like.... you know. *shows picture of Sonic The Werehog*
The personality changes and stereotypishment were the biggest problems with the characters in Sonic Boom. I actually don't have a problem with their visual designs. I don't really understand the purpose of all of the bandage things, though.
+DR_LaZer I've never played Unleashed, but I doubt that even the Werehog sessions are that bad. Unnecessary in a Sonic game, maybe, but for some people that enjoy mindless bashing in games like Golden Axe and Dynasty Warriors (like myself), I think I would have some fun with the Werehog.
As someone who's never played either of the Sonic Adventure games, I have no idea what to think about these games. The first Sonic game I ever played was my cousin's copy of Sonic Heroes, which I loved. And I enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog too (sue me). I just don't understand why people hate so many of these Sonic games. At least in the case of certain ones (Sonic '06 or Sonic Boom) I can see the problems. But why is it that some are generally loved and others are generally reviled?
I had no issues with the criticisms brought up in this video, but then he dropped that “Sonic’s stupid friends” bar at the very last second 😂😂 lost me there
One thing to keep in mind about people saying they should go back to the Sonic Adventure style of play is that not everyone really agrees on what they mean by that. One of the most common ideas is that the designers should go back to the way Sonic himself played, controlled, and structured levels during the FIRST Sonic Adventure, though, as a lot of people enjoy the more freeform speedy platforming design of that game, as well as the way Sonic's running controls handled on the ground (he seems to have the easiest time on the whole balancing speed with precise movement there). I'll freely admit I don't like the floaty jumps in either Adventure game, though. The other high point to Sonic Adventure 1 was of course that you could play Sonic's story all at once at the very start--the other five, whatever your feelings on them, didn't get between you and the next Sonic level. For that reason people tend to cut SA1 more slack than the other games on the subject of alternate gameplay styles, even though it includes arguably the worst one (Big the Cat's broken-ass fishing stuff).
That pretty much is the case. In my scenario, it's taking how the levels were designed, the smooth handling and sense of freedom from Sonic's gameplay from SA1, while adding Tails and Knuckles playable characters, similar to how they were in Sonic 3 & Knuckles (No gameplay styles, just get to the Goal Ring). But with that, they can bring to the table the huge scale to the stages that S3&K had, where all 3 of them could explore differently with all of their unique attributes and abilities (Sonic's extra abilities from the Elemental Shields, Tails' flight and Knuckles' wall climbing/strength to smash through walls with his face 😋).
Lewis Medeiros You know if SA handled Fishing like it did rasing chao, I think it would be about as loved if the game didn't force you to fish, but let you fish only when & if you wanted to.
@@ironox9462 I prefer Sonic Adventure 2: Battle to Sonic Adventure 2 :Battle. It's obviously better than Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. But I love Sonic Adventure though, I still prefer Sonic Adventure.
To each there own I say. I honestly still think both Adventure games hold up very well. Hell, I go back to Adventure 1&2 more than any other Sonic game I own. I even wipe my files (not the 100% completed files) and start the story all over again and it's a blast. But, nostalgia glasses off I do see the problems both games have, but they don't stop me from having a fun time, yes even the Knuckles and Rouge stages I find fun.
***** No argument there. Mad Space was needlessly huge and confusing. Only fun I got out of that stage was just flying around aimlessly and drill diving from the highest point.
fun fact Sonic IS the original Hedgehog not Shadow, Shadow was created by Gerald Robotnik based on a design from a mural the ancient Echidnas did based on Super Sonic's future battle with Chaos in Sonic Adventure 1(hence why his quills stick up) so even though Shadow was created before Sonic was born he is based on Sonic as the Doctor said, Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey or in other words the time paradox known as Retrocausality in which an effect precedes its cause in time
I honestly loved everything about this game. The argument that a sonic game needs to go fast 100% of the time is like saying every Spongebob episode needs to be funny, or that every Wii game needs to use motion controls. Yes, it's what we learned to associate with it, but I don't like to blind myself to the quality of everything outside of that. I loved the emerald and mech stages as much as the speed stages personally. As well as the Chao Garden.
Aidan Lappin I know. My point is, if spongebb wanted to tell a story, it could. It has failed at that in the past, but it has succeed as well.Yeah, of course the episodes will have jokes, but there can be episodes where story is the main focus and they can work. My point is, people should not bias something because it's not 10\0% what they signed up for.
Except that's the whole point! If Sonic is just trundling around at normal speed, he's not Sonic anymore, he's Crash Bandicoot. We already have a Crash Bandicoot. At its core, Sonic is about speed, forward momentum, and exceptional displays of running fast. In my opinion, anything made after the 2D games is weird fan fiction.
Nope! Sonic 'can go fast'. You know what Sonic does when you're bad at it? Move like a slug! Same applies to Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic Riders... all the good Sonic games. Sonic is playable with mediocrity, it feels best and is fast and looks the best... with skill at the game. Which comes over time. Which comes with replayability. Which is why the best Sonic games are the most replayable ones. Sonic is about precision.
This game, just like every other game in existence, can be nitpicked apart. I've enjoyed hundreds of hours in this game when I was younger and still not today, and I loved every second of it. Even now, having it on steam and picking it up a couple of weeks ago, with the nostalgia goggles off, I can say this game is still very enjoyable. Like this video, ProJared just straight up says that the Knuckle/Rogue stages and Tails/Eggman stages are garbage, but I think they're completely enjoyable. From a "sonic standpoint" everyone just thinks "gotta go fast" and to be honest, it was never all about the speed.
***** Just because there are worse things, the ones this game has don't stop being atrocities. I agree though, there are MUCH terrible stuff in the Sonic franchise.
I'm gonna be completely honest here... I think the only few reasons people "love" this game are because of the nostalgia factor, the Sonic and Shadow stages, which are pretty good, and the Chao Garden. I have to agree with ProJared, though, everything else just sucks about it. When I played this, three-fourths of the time I felt like I was playing Sonic 06. Yes, I said it. *Sonic The Fucking Hedgehog 2006.* Good thing I remembered my popcorn
InfinityV0rtex unfortunately sonic has the worst fanbase im surprised ur not getting threatned right now but this video opened up my eyes he is right the chao garden is what i liked most about this game
Shail With the fanbase and all, I'm surprised you're the only one who's responded in a matter of two days. Not to mention it was actually a casual response.
InfinityV0rtex SHUT UP!!! DIS IS DA BEST SANIC GAME EVAR YUR JUST JELOUS!!!!!! Yeah, I have no idea why people aren't doing this ^ right now. But yeah, this game was given too much praise. I don't get why people shit on Unleashed. At least the night-time stages were actually platformy. They weren't flawed, just not fast. But the Tails and Knuckles stages . . . yeah, they suck. Although, going back to the Adventure series would be a good idea, as the Sonic and Shadow stages were some of the best in the series. Make stages based on those, add a Chap Garden and BOOM! Success. But of course, SEGA is not smart enough.
UltraNinja45 Let me try something, and my honest opinion will probably get me crucified by the fanbase. I enjoyed Silver's stages more than the SA2 Mech & Treasure Stages. Come at me!
I wish Sega would understand the nuances. People actually didn't like the mech stages? "Let's remove them! But wait, weren't the Gamma stages alright and harmless? Yes, but SA2 dictates all". Same with the treasure hunting stages... which actually gave us something worse: Knuckles being forgotten. From that point onwards, all Sonic games that tried more than running where half-assed OR, if polished, were better designed as running stages... and these stages always featured some kind of hedgehogs. I hate that... It's not the variety that I liked in SA2, it's the fact I got to play as not-yet-dumbed-out Knuckles. I want to play as Knuckles again, even if all he does is run around, glide and climb walls to the fin---Oh Sonic Mania!
Overall, I think this game is FAR from perfect, but still enjoyable. I agree with most of your points here, save for the mech stages. I’m honestly surprised you didn’t mention more about the second Tails VS Eggman boss, given how horribly designed it was.
Totally imperfect, but what matters most is did I enjoy it? It’s a yes from me, I don’t play the game for the story or camera engine and running through the game on sonic and shadow levels is just really enjoyable. But I won’t disagree with someone who dislikes it because I can see the reason they do.
yup, that's actually how that cutscene plays out. Whoever did sound tech for this game needs shooting. I know Jun Senoue's work is amazing but I want to be able to hear the game over it, also if characters didn't talk over each other constantly that would be great too.
The reason why they're stepping over each other's lines is because the dialogue was originally in Japanese and I guess they forgot to extend the time of the cutscenes to make up for the translation.
@@PsychoDiesel48 to at least make sure he would not say too much shit, specially since he said the word "speedrunning", I mean, you can just search easily in less than a minute on TH-cam
I'm just going to tell it like it is. If you truly like a game, and your mentaly healthy, someone talking bad about it shouldn't bother you. You should be able to look past criticism and like the game for what YOU think it is, not what someone else thinks about it. If someone talking even slightly negatively about something you like gets you furious, you either somewhat agree with their opinion in you head and are trying to fight it, leading to anger, or you might have something wrong going on with your noggin that needs to be addressed. I''m not trying to put down people with mental health problems. Extreme tribalism is a objective sign of mental health issues.
I understand the game isn’t for everyone but let’s just remember Knuckles was always supposed to be a garden and a treasure hunter so his levels make sense
I think we loved this game so much because most of us were kids at the time the game came out and all of the flaws just flew over our heads leaving the game to just being fun. Now we just take this franchise seriously because of how much we loved SA2 (which is not a bad thing) because we want to feel that same fun as we did in SA2.
Thank you for making this video. I'm tired of people saying that Sonic going back to the Adventure formula would magically fix all of its problems. Sonic Team should just focus on making a game where ALL of it's fun to play. That's really what I want from a game at the end of the day.
***** I loved this game as a kid but playing it again is infuriating. I never liked the Tails levels even back then. They need to make a game that's like just the Sonic levels from this game. Oh and the Chao Garden. And of course they need to bring back Crush 40 for the soundtrack. I mean i used to have this soundtrack on my phone.
***** They wanted to do just that with Sonic 06. Unfortunately, they have SEGA to deal with that emulate poor decisions. I mean. They certainly have the knack for it. They did it with their other franchises anyway, so I see no reason why they can't with their mascot.
His still an idiot Ok maybe Im being to hard on him but if you want your opinion to be taken seriously then you need to get the facts right which he mostly did not.
@@preparefordededestruction2661 Ey i love Sonic games. High energy games like sonic heroes rules. Just because one guy doesnt like it doesnt mean we cant have different opinions :P But i like following Jareds stuff at time!
Man, i'm so happy ProJared did this review, when I first saw this I was laughing my ass off not only for the jokes but because I kept thinking "Man, can't wait to read the comments." I was not disappointed. This comment section is pure cancer. While I don't think the game is too bad, the praise it gets it's fucking ridicolous, it's making me HATE the game! Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations did a much better job delivering a good 3D Sonic game than SA2, that game is way overrated! A story that doesn't make any sense and that tries to be edgy and dark (The sad thing is that fanboys want these kind of shitty stories in a Sonic game, WHO PLAYS A DAMN SONIC GAME FOR THE STORY?!), 1 Great gameplay style 2 horrible gameplay styles, awful camera and a not-so memorable soundtrack (I'm sorry guys but SA1 had a more memorable soundtrack, the only good tracks here are Live and Learn, mission street, Pyramid cave, Metal Harbor, Chao Garden, City Escape and It doesn't matter) and Shadow, fuck him.
***** Man, i know you're trying to be "cool" and all but really, it's getting pretty annoying, want to end this? I would totally support a decision like that.
***** I already heard the same answer in another conversation where you acted the same way. Originality isn't quite your thing huh? It's okay, looks like using your brain isn't quite your thing too.
Matiasga98 I can name more. Not just levels but the hub worlds too. They're way too open and take forever to get around. The "guess who it is" mission was terrible. The Mach speed sections controll like shit, epically in mid air. How about kill all enimies in order to proceed with the level? That got old for everyone, especially since all you're doing is mashing the A button and that it's in almost every level. There's a lot more wrong with this game. This game is terribe, being rushed doesn't justify it in the slightest, it just makes the game worse then it already is.
I've always preferred Sonic Adventure 1 but that game hasn't aged well either though. I agree with a lot of your points but more importantly, we both like Pumpkin Hills music, which is clearly the most important thing to note.
Going back to this is a trip. I'm in grade 11 now, and I remember watching this and the completionist when Greg was with him. Good times. I'm sad they are over, but I'm glad I got to experience them.
According to the writers, the government was using Sonic as a scapegoat to keep Project Shadow in the dark. There was no mistake: they're just assholes.
heroes may continue the story, but it's not even close to SA3. the game structure is completely different. that's why people say that 06 is the real SA3. that's what a sequel to SA2 would look like. and imagine that, it's complete garbage, even without the glitches.
I don't think it's awful. I mean yeah, you summed up why people remember it fondly pretty well. There's awful parts but the good parts make up for it to me. And it's not like a lot of games around that time period hold up that great either. For the time, it was something completely new. I liked the grand scale of the story even if it's ridiculous and cheesy. It's cheesy as hell but that's part of the charm of it. The best 3D sonic game goes to Generations hands down. I have no idea why they decided to depart from that formula.
+Spoonybytes (dhlord64) "And it's not like a lot of games around that time period hold up that great either." Devil May Cry holds EONS better than this. So does ICO and Smash Bros Melee. This game is just....nostalgically protected. Influential? Absolutely, but it isn't good even for the standards of back then.
I'd argue it was better than most games at the time. There's exceptions but we don't remember most of the mediocre to crappy games back then. Most games are forgotten.
Another Sonic game. Adventure 3 is officially not recognized by SEGA as of last month. So if they know it doesn't exist yet, it doesn't. Adventure 3 is a sequel in name, nor big deal. I don't see what the point is in telling us that 06 plays ideally like the game, when Adventure 3 means two things. One, a sequel right after 2, and two, another adventure styled game done right. Why is that hard to comprehend?
You misunderstand me. The multiple storylines, the different characters, I mean, it's very clear that sonic 06 was trying to be the 3rd sonic adventure, and it failed spectacularly. And after sonic boom failed with ONE storyline, do you really want to see them try 3 again?
+Racecarlock why the he'll not? Just because one game failed from the formula, doesn't mean the style is fucked. Execution doesn't determine that. And let me tell you why 06 isn't special adventure 3. it's cause it doesn't identify it as so. Is Sonic 3 and Knuckles Sonic CD 2? What about Sonic Colors 2? You think those titles and think "I'd like to see a time travel 2d adventure again and another game where Eggman takes Planet Wisp again." When you think adventure 3, you want another adventure that is taking place after Adventure 2. And yes, the name matters a little. It really wouldn't make a difference to me if we get another adventure game with 3 in the name or not as long as the game is like those two games but better. SEGA OFFICIALLY recognizes Adventure 3 as a game that has yet to be made. Unleashed was supposed to be Adventure 3 when they were making it, but they decided to make it its own thing. That means no adventure 3. That's just the truth
I don’t get why people pronounce chao as chi-ow. A word that comes up frequently in the franchise is chaos, so I thought it would be pronounced like Kay-oh
Happy Mask Gamer Everyone looks at it though those rose tinted nostalgia glasses. It's fine for the time. But with today's standards it's aged so poorly
Happy Mask Gamer I've played Sonic Adventure for the first time last year (I'm 16) and I thought it was okay. Given, the stages I had the most fun with were Tails's, one of the faster characters, but it was still alright. Wish Tails had more stages, thought.
***** Ever notice how they got EXACTLY what they asked for? Well It's not SA2. They still got a game with:-Bad camera controls/placement -Bad voice acting..Sorta -Bad gameplay sections -Glitchy levels that can screw you over. -Bosses that are a mixed bag. Am I really missing anything else? It seems they got what they wanted but in the end it's like a rich kid saying "I want this car" only to get it and say "This is not the car I wanted, It's the wrong color, The wrong year and it's not even like the one in the picture! You suck!" This is directed to THOSE fans. The kind who are so ignorant and twisted that they make the rest of the community look bad.
Random Ron the problem with Sonic Heroes was not that everyone controlled the same, but was the controls themselves. Controlling everyone in that game is like trying to control a rampage cat.
Ok, I need to point out some things 1. Not everyone hates the treasure hunting stages. I actually love them 2. Not everyone hates the Tails stages. I actually love them 3. ALMOST all of the stages are fun 4. Why did you say "The only reasons people remember this game are the chao" I think I made my point
+Crais Daniel “dextremekid” 1.- Good for you, they still have design issues 2.- Same as above 3.- ...people are really mixed on that, which, again, overlaps with the points above 4.- It's one of the most popular features of the game.
Bean TheRuse 1.- What I clearly meant was "design flaws that are big enough on a significant part of the audience to detract from the experience". When I say it has design flaws, it should be no rocket science I clearly mean it in aw ay other than "everything has some flaws" 2.- Do I really need to say it? 3.- ... 4.- It makes it reasonable though(it's one of the, say, landmarks of the game).
+VladNorris. 1. jesus, it shouldn't be rocket science to figure out people can have a different opinion. 4. hardly, just because it was something people liked doesnt make it fair to say it's one of the only reasons.
Bean TheRuse 1.- True, but still. It's not like it's only about minorities when the problems lie in what you could find to be a concensus for BASIC necessities in that kind of game(camera anyone?) 4.- Probably it would be more appropriate to call it one of the MAIN reasons, but I guess it's called one of the main because there's a lot of non concensus when it comes to the rest of the game to the point most people agree on those three things above the others.
After this video, other YouYubers have jumped on the "Let's bash Sonic Adventure!" bandwagon. It's really annoying. Can't people just let others enjoy what they want? Sure, this game has flaws and a lot in fact. But if you are gonna insult someone for liking it, you need to rethink your life.
I think it's not that good, but I still love it subjectively because I had a lot of good memories with sonic heroes, it was one of the first games I literally begged my parents to get for me
i say it is the best "3d" sonic game because if you you can most always keep you're speed unless you are changing to a flying character something falls in you're was punch it and switch back or if you are going fast enough you can dodge it
@@nickkuhlmam1336 Ok, please tell me all those things that are objectively bad in SA2. I admit I have some complains, but they're all nitpicks. I want to hear what completely ruins the experience of this game for you.
The only reason why the characters are interrupting eachother is because they didn't bother to make the sequencing optimized for the English version. That's why the Japanese version does not have characters interrupt each other.
That's also why nothing lip syncs in the English version.
But you see, that takes effort.
So they were just lazy

I can't be the only one who liked sonic heroes? Right?.... Right?
PKMNTrainerRED sonic heroes has mixed reviews, some don't like it a handfull hate it, and others like it. I've barely played it and I can call it "Its alrite"
PKMNTrainerRED Heroes is actually my favorite game.
PKMNTrainerRED I liked it.
PKMNTrainerRED You and my brother apparently. He rented it from our local video store using my account. I get a call six months later from them about late fees for the game. My brother never returned it, I ended up having to buy the game and pay the late fees. Bastard still owes me for that.
I loved it! But it could just be because it was the first sonic game I ever played. I haven't played it in nearly a decade.

I like the speed stages, I like the emerald hunting stages, I *prepares flame shield* like the mech stages
no your not, well, the knuckles and Rouge stages were my least liked but I did love everything about the game because it was fun.
I enjoyed all stages, though knuckles/rouge stages were by far my least favorite. I also enjoyed the werehog stages in unleashed as well.
ContraZombie4 ...Also I can't figure out how to raise the Chao in those minigames though...
Captain Truth
I mean there's the potential of the chao's stats (Can range from E to S), meaning an S ranked flying chao with level 60 flying can do better than an E ranked flying chao with level 70-80.
It's personality is determined by a TON of things, such as how many friends it has, how it was raised, what it learns in classes, what fruit it eats/how much it eats,
Chao's also evolve 2 times before finally reincarnating or dying. to get the best possible chao, you need to raise the best possible chao then get it to reincarnate to an even better chao.

I actually think that the new Sonic games arent really that good, cause you dont have different play styles like in SA2. I dont like running the whole time, cause the stages get more worse the more Speed stages there are.

Robo Mike I can't believe someone watched Sonic X for the plot.
Just kidding. It's actually been quite a while since the last time I've seen anything Sonic X related... oh, God. The nostalgia makes me wanna rewatch the whole show now.
Never understood why Eggman's warning shot for the Earth was blowing up the moon.
Because that's not a warning shot.
Super Samicom He's not very good at his job.

The Chao garden is as overrated as the rest of this game
KidSnivy69 Sounds like someone is jelly they never raised a Chaos Chao.

***** Yup, i forced myself though most of the (mini)game, for the chaos.
So in short Sega needs to bring back Chao garden and people will be happy!
MissedTitan You'd think it would be perfect as a phone game which is what they mostly do these days, but nope.
laprasking That's exaclty what I was about to write lol. But yeah, I mean Sega has clearly embraced the mobile market. I know a LOT of people would love to see a mobile Chao Garden game.

Just to explain the "Wish" thing:
Shadow didn't literally mean he would grant Eggman's wish like a genie.

Now that I think about it, SA2 got rid of so many great things from the original Sonic Adventure game, like the hub worlds and the character specific stories. It actually feels like an adventure with everyone’s story being connected into one big plot line.
there is the hero and dark story and cutcenes show different characters at a time.
They also made the treasure hunting stages much worse and Tails and Eggman control far worse than Gamma.
They removed the hub world because in the story, you are always in a rush and making a hub world would have slowed down the game (Not at all saying that Hub World sucks, All I wanna say is that it would wouldn't make sense with the story of Sonic Adventure 2)
That's the point
That's actually a really good point.
I completely agree. Other characters should have THEIR CHARACTER TRAITS.
Nutty Dodo You want something like that? I believe SADX has Tails puzzle levels
I liked 99% of this game. the other 1% is mad space
Agreed
+xFortyseven Hidden Base is my least favorite. I hate Tails. But Eggman's missions were fun, and the music was phenomenal.
+andres meza so you basically disagreed with everything in this video
I liked 1% of the game(Chao Garden), the other 99% is awful story, mediocre voice acting, and terrible physics.
It's okay to like/love a flawed game. Heck, I love Skyward Sword even though people hate it, but I don't go out of my way to tell people why they're wrong when it gets criticized.
Enjoy the games you play, but be willing to hear criticism.

SA2 is the Final Fantasy X of the franchise. It's either "the last good game in the franchise", or "the first bad one."
ffx is amazing and i love 12 and 15 too
I’d say that more describes final fantasy 12, as the splitting point
except ffx is great and sa2 sucks some major ass
You kidding? FFX isn't flawless, but I revisited it just last year to check how it holds up, and it's a darn good game.

Only half of Unleashed featured speed gameplay, so it was considered a bad game. But speed gameplay makes up less than a third of SA2 and its somehow the best sonic game?
Sonic is bad wether it is around speed or not
The Sonic fandom (or any fandom in general) is full of contradictions to themselves.
Yep that's why the serie has been to sh*t for so many years, Classic is the best and only way to go
ikagura I like Sonic Adventure 2 and I played it this year. It's my opinion and there's nothing you can do about it.
ikagura that's an opinion, I myself do not enjoy sonic games generally but you gotta admit that it feels awesome to just go super fast.

PindleofKujata that playing this game gives u colon cancer
You should check out +SomecallmeJohnny , he does game reviews in really great depth like Jared did here. He provides excellent comedy, too.
PindleofKujata You ask the questions that matter.
Orginally designs for shadow had him looking much closer to sonic. The main difference is shadow had a scar and darker blue fur. It is belviable with that design that people might confuse him and sonic with only quick looks and in darkness.
Thanks for commenting about the video, even back then
God, that would've been so stupidly edgy.
@@Howitchewstofeel5gum Explain how it doesn’t make sense.
Brain Swift Based on the fanbase's logic, we've had multiple all the way from Heroes to The World Adventure.
Brain Swift Sonic Heroes did the same.
Sonic 06 is more of a Next Gen SA1. Its not SA3.
I think what we meant was a GOOD sonic adventure 3. XD I loved heroes, actually, but probably just cause it was the first sonic game I ever played.
TrueSkyblueClouds Right. And that's why I say Adventure 3 is fanfiction at this point because we've had multiple.

Adam Wolf agree the only feature that is totally shit is the kart racing imo.

But don't make him... you know. *shows picture of Sonic Boom's Knuckles*"
Yeah! They should make him more like.... you know. *shows picture of Sonic The Werehog*
The personality changes and stereotypishment were the biggest problems with the characters in Sonic Boom. I actually don't have a problem with their visual designs. I don't really understand the purpose of all of the bandage things, though.
+Zenmaster Jared more like dumbass than badass mate
+DR_LaZer I'd play a Sonic Unleashed esque game starring Knuckles
+DR_LaZer I've never played Unleashed, but I doubt that even the Werehog sessions are that bad.
Unnecessary in a Sonic game, maybe, but for some people that enjoy mindless bashing in games like Golden Axe and Dynasty Warriors (like myself), I think I would have some fun with the Werehog.
Ultimate Spoopynator HogWolf makes more sense, yeah. Noted!
But why is it that some are generally loved and others are generally reviled?
it's kinda too late to play it now. it was good back then. it didn't age well.

What the actual fuck?
I had no issues with the criticisms brought up in this video, but then he dropped that “Sonic’s stupid friends” bar at the very last second 😂😂 lost me there
I have. Especially that invisible wall he mentioned in the big foot fight.
Lewis Medeiros Oh hi Lewis.
Lewis Medeiros You know if SA handled Fishing like it did rasing chao, I think it would be about as loved if the game didn't force you to fish, but let you fish only when & if you wanted to.

sonic adventure 2, best sonic game ever
Sonic Adventure 2 *SUUUCKS!* Sonic Adventure 2 is much better.
At least you acknowledge the problems
***** I know your pain....20 minutes on Meteor Herd and 25 minutes on Mad Space.
Both of those levels can go die. So needlessly large!
Not to mention Mad Space makes the radar work in reverse!
***** No argument there. Mad Space was needlessly huge and confusing. Only fun I got out of that stage was just flying around aimlessly and drill diving from the highest point.
fun fact Sonic IS the original Hedgehog not Shadow, Shadow was created by Gerald Robotnik based on a design from a mural the ancient Echidnas did based on Super Sonic's future battle with Chaos in Sonic Adventure 1(hence why his quills stick up) so even though Shadow was created before Sonic was born he is based on Sonic
as the Doctor said, Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey or in other words the time paradox known as Retrocausality in which an effect precedes its cause in time
Who care
I honestly loved everything about this game. The argument that a sonic game needs to go fast 100% of the time is like saying every Spongebob episode needs to be funny, or that every Wii game needs to use motion controls. Yes, it's what we learned to associate with it, but I don't like to blind myself to the quality of everything outside of that. I loved the emerald and mech stages as much as the speed stages personally. As well as the Chao Garden.

The current seasons.

I know.
+Dick Grayson we used to have a crash bandicoot

It might be nostalgia, but I enjoyed every part of this game, and I still do.
Same
Same, got it from the steam summer sale and it's living up to my nostalgia standards
+Kylebassgs Well said. People need to realize that of it isn't about speed, it isn't a bad sonic game.
I enjoyed every part of it, that is, except the Knuckles and Rouge parts, those I had to use walkthroughs for.
i like playing as rouge and knuckles
Game definitely aged badly, still has some fun bits though.
Yes is does. But it still doesn't excuse the atrocities in the game
You Tube "Atrocities" is a bit of a stretch. There's MUCH worse than the things this game offers, in the same series in fact.
***** Just because there are worse things, the ones this game has don't stop being atrocities. I agree though, there are MUCH terrible stuff in the Sonic franchise.
Also, the soundtrack was amazing
I want a Pumpkin Hill remix with Jared doing the vocals.

yes this must happen
As long as he does it sounding like the Beastie Boys.
Not much of a sonic fan but city escape is definitely one of the best things ever
*Sonic The Fucking Hedgehog 2006.*

UltraNinja45 Hell, when I first played it, I hated it.
UltraNinja45 Let me try something, and my honest opinion will probably get me crucified by the fanbase. I enjoyed Silver's stages more than the SA2 Mech & Treasure Stages. Come at me!
I can't tell you the amount of times I've started up this game, gotten to the second level and stopped.
Grey Duovis I do the same thing with Shadow the Hedgehog about once a year, lol

Obot Prime I like how chill and responsible your comment is in comparison to what other people are saying
Totally imperfect, but what matters most is did I enjoy it? It’s a yes from me, I don’t play the game for the story or camera engine and running through the game on sonic and shadow levels is just really enjoyable. But I won’t disagree with someone who dislikes it because I can see the reason they do.
Once you got the hang of it, the boss fight is manageable. The problem is that it's stupid hard to get the hang of.
Not George Especially how so cheap the laser beam attack is.
I think it’s almost as bad as 06

I'm just going to tell it like it is. If you truly like a game, and your mentaly healthy, someone talking bad about it shouldn't bother you. You should be able to look past criticism and like the game for what YOU think it is, not what someone else thinks about it. If someone talking even slightly negatively about something you like gets you furious, you either somewhat agree with their opinion in you head and are trying to fight it, leading to anger, or you might have something wrong going on with your noggin that needs to be addressed. I''m not trying to put down people with mental health problems. Extreme tribalism is a objective sign of mental health issues.

I think we loved this game so much because most of us were kids at the time the game came out and all of the flaws just flew over our heads leaving the game to just being fun.
Now we just take this franchise seriously because of how much we loved SA2 (which is not a bad thing) because we want to feel that same fun as we did in SA2.
also because CHAO GARDEN!!
+Ebbi the Tigress And Keen the Koala he's not wrong
I think you have a point. Truth is, what adamant sonic fans want isn't another game like SA2, it's to be young again.
I agree with you, and my favorite thing to do was raising my chao, I thought you it was the best thing ever.
Or maybe it’s actually good.
Thank you for making this video. I'm tired of people saying that Sonic going back to the Adventure formula would magically fix all of its problems. Sonic Team should just focus on making a game where ALL of it's fun to play. That's really what I want from a game at the end of the day.

You wanna know what your precious sonic adventure 3 actually is?
Sonic 06
Faker you do know that 06 was bad because time restraints, not design, right?
Faker Outside of the awful plot, glitches, and oversized hubworld, 06 had pretty decent gameplay concepts.
Matiasga98 The ball puzzle in Silvers story isn't bad design, huh?
rainopaino unpolished levels due to time restraints. Also picking one level in the whole game does not make all of it bad

+Spoonybytes (dhlord64) "And it's not like a lot of games around that time period hold up that great either."
Devil May Cry holds EONS better than this.
It's okay to like those marshmallow bits, friend.
+Spoonybytes (dhlord64)
>And it's not like a lot of games around that time period hold up that great either.
But... Half-Life?
quietpickles I know, we all can list at least a dozen games that do.
So, everybody wants a new sonic adventure. My question is, what the hell do you people think sonic 06 was?
Sonic Heroes was the closest thing to Adventure 3
Joseph Franc But based on sonic 06 and sonic boom, how do you know they won't badly fuck up adventure 3 as well?
WE NEED CHAO GARDEN SIMULATOR
Pikaking Gaming just search for chao resort island
: )
It's called The Sims
If segaafe a game just about chaos it would probably Sonic's highest ranking game in a while besides Mania.
I don’t get why people pronounce chao as chi-ow. A word that comes up frequently in the franchise is chaos, so I thought it would be pronounced like Kay-oh
@@thetwistedtoast5175 And? It's pronounced like the word ciao, so what?
i actually really enjoy the Knuckles sections...
I mean yeah, but for a sonic game it's slow paced. It would've been better if they made a standalone game for knuckles
SketchyDood idk my dude, i do prefer the action stages, but i liked the break of pace. and the sweet tunes
True, true.
@@Hutch2Much yes the knuckles songs were most dope
Good for you ig, I really wanted to like this game I just can't it's not fun to me. Except for the opening sequence in city escape
Bad with bits of good sums up all of the Sonic series in my opinion.
Just like lucky charms.
+Cole Lipe I just eat the marshmallows.
+Jeck Mester you can buy pounds of that stuff on amazon!!
+Zeromus22 What about the apex of innocent-furry-themed awesomeness that was Sonic Riders?
+Zeromus22 except Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 for the Sega Genesis! :)
eggman wanted the power to threaten earth to conquer it, not actually destroy it.
MewShifter exactly
I really loved the Adventure games when I was a kid but wow.. they did not hold up well. I don't know how young HMG handled such a terrible camera
Happy Mask Gamer I have the same issue with Super Mario Sunshine. Like, fuck me right?
Darknebolian But damn, there are many marshmallow pieces in that game :D
Happy Mask Gamer Everyone looks at it though those rose tinted nostalgia glasses. It's fine for the time. But with today's standards it's aged so poorly
Happy Mask Gamer I've played Sonic Adventure for the first time last year (I'm 16) and I thought it was okay. Given, the stages I had the most fun with were Tails's, one of the faster characters, but it was still alright. Wish Tails had more stages, thought.
gkjzhgffjh Oh yeah, I still love the game to pieces and still play it all the way through in one sitting. But that camera...
"Make Knuckles about hitting things."
*Immediately shows footage of Knuckles hitting things

They're coming...
***** They seem to be taking their time. Probably sharpening the knives.
TheUltimateFanBoy forever and ever and ever and you get it. Plus first to reply to yu
TheUltimateFanBoy to paraphrase Egoraptor. "I'm harshly criticizing _____ on the internet....I'M GONNA GET CRUCIFIED!"
***** Ever notice how they got EXACTLY what they asked for? Well It's not SA2. They still got a game with:-Bad camera controls/placement
-Bad voice acting..Sorta
-Bad gameplay sections
-Glitchy levels that can screw you over.
Green Sanic Oh hey, Anime isn't bad, it's just the fans that are toxic shits.
nothing will ever be as good as sonic 06
Ikr sonic 06 should have been game of the year for 2006
and 2007
+David Quintero-Ochoa and 2008
+Tiger are these comments sarcastic?
+Ebbi the Tigress And Keen the Koala no we are 100% serious
Sonic Adventure 3 should be like Sonic 3 and Knuckles. All of the characters play the same way mostly, with a few differences.
So then we're talking Sonic Heroes then since they do that.
Random Ron the problem with Sonic Heroes was not that everyone controlled the same, but was the controls themselves. Controlling everyone in that game is like trying to control a rampage cat.
King Arthur But let's be real here. Sonic Adventure 3 is pretty much fanfiction at this point.
Random Ron yeh
King Arthur Sonic 06 was Sonic Adventure 3
Shadow singing "You've never had a friend like me". That is all.
This, and SSBM were my 2 most played GameCube games.
+Tyler Ross same
Flying Otaku Sonic Riders=LIFE
+Tyler Ross melee forever ^^
+xw〈3lfx play it again, you'll be sadily surprised
Nexx I enjoy Sonic Riders and SA2 just as much as used too. They definitely are not bad games at all.
Ok, I need to point out some things
1. Not everyone hates the treasure hunting stages. I actually love them
2. Not everyone hates the Tails stages. I actually love them
3. ALMOST all of the stages are fun
4. Why did you say "The only reasons people remember this game are the chao"
I think I made my point
+Crais Daniel “dextremekid” 1.- Good for you, they still have design issues
2.- Same as above
3.- ...people are really mixed on that, which, again, overlaps with the points above
4.- It's one of the most popular features of the game.
+VladNorris 1. Nothing has no design flaws
2.-Same as above
3.Agreed
4. Doesn't make it okay to make that claim.
Bean TheRuse 1.- What I clearly meant was "design flaws that are big enough on a significant part of the audience to detract from the experience". When I say it has design flaws, it should be no rocket science I clearly mean it in aw ay other than "everything has some flaws"
2.- Do I really need to say it?
It's not like it's only about minorities when the problems lie in what you could find to be a concensus for BASIC necessities in that kind of game(camera anyone?)
4.- Probably it would be more appropriate to call it one of the MAIN reasons, but I guess it's called one of the main because there's a lot of non concensus when it comes to the rest of the game to the point most people agree on those three things above the others.
+TopHatLucario I personally find this the worst review Projared has ever done.
tim5fl I played Adventure 2 today and I LOVE Sonic's gameplay! My favourite Sonic gameplay to date!
TopHatLucario Yeah fine. But I'm talking about Projared's review. not the game itself.
tim5fl Yeah I know. I just wanted to tell you that.
Chris Tzanis Anyone can if they want to. I know ClementJ64 thinks it's his favourite 3D Sonic game.
Personally I think Sonic Heroes is a VERY good 3D Sonic game that is massively overlooked.
You. Yes. Oh. My. God. I. Have. Found. ANOTHER YESSSSSSSSS
+MEW99999 me to!!!
I think it's not that good, but I still love it subjectively because I had a lot of good memories with sonic heroes, it was one of the first games I literally begged my parents to get for me
i say it is the best "3d" sonic game because if you you can most always keep you're speed unless you are changing to a flying character something falls in you're was punch it and switch back or if you are going fast enough you can dodge it
It's an OK game, but repetitive as hell.
The only thing more repetitive than that would be Shadow the Hedgehog
It will always be a 10/10 when it comes to my nostalgia.
You can like bad games, there's no problem with that.
@@ThelosVerlos dude its not that bad
