    It’s not just our leaders who are the problem. It’s the undisciplined Filipino people is the issue. Too much freedom! You want, progress then we all have to sacrifice for a little bit!

      @@DEDEDE454 No. Undiscipline and democracy comes at a cost. Colorful statements for democracy but in reality, your leaders' action did not equalized with their promises. This is the problem. You get sold off as slaves being promised that your democracy will be saved by they did not fulfill their promises. People just get easily triggerred by what they see on the media. They let fear control them.

    Prime Minister LKY is a special breed. His enduring lessons on governance and life must be made required learning for current and aspiring public servants in the Philippines. From congressmen who earn 250,000-300,000 per month, to the governors and mayors who earn 180,000 per month, and barangay chairmen in the farthest provinces - they need to be educated with the best lessons from one of the best governance examples in history.

    The Philippines operates as a "democracy" but is still heavily influenced by an oligarchy, a small number of families with spanish, chinese, and other foreign roots. These families run the food companies, the pharmaceuticals, telecommunication and electricity companies.
    These "filipino" elites also have strong connections in government that enforce self-serving politics. The reason why most native born filipinos who get into government get corrupted by lust, power, envy etc. is because they lack the back-bone and integrity that comes from a strong culture of ideals, which the Philippines currently lacking.
    There are many reasons why the Philippines is in a weakened state-of-mind making it vulnerable to corruption.

    “The difference lies in the culture of the Filipino people. It is a soft, forgiving culture. Only in the Philippines could a leader like Ferdinand Marcos, who pillaged his country for over 20 years, still be considered for a national burial. Insignificant amounts of the loot have been recovered, yet his wife and children were allowed to return and engage in politics."

Democracy only works amongst the highly educated and Phil is not. We changed our pol system then we create stringent legislation for graft and corruption.     Pres. Duterte has similar action to resolve the problems in the Philippines like;
    1. Corruption
    Firing employees both government and some private employees like laglag bala airport employees, police who have criminal or minor offense, employees in SSS, PAGIBIG, Philhealth, Barangay clearance,NBI, police clearance, BIR number should be finish within a day or three, firing Comelec staff and even his cabinet members involve in corruption.
    2. Law and order
    Crime is lower because drug addicts, drug dealer and druglord are dying, corrupt police are removes and monitored, and fast in providing justice for any criminal act that cause criminals to think twice.
    3. Building new infrastructure
    Build, Build, Build is providing a lot of jobs aside from that we have new trains that are takes few minute to arrive from the destination, larger roads to avoid traffics, bridges to connect islands to transport farm to market products and for people to move from one place to another.
    4. NATIONAL TASK FORCE TO END LOCAL COMMUNIST ARMED CONFLICT (NTF ELCAC)
    Our problem with rebellion and extremis for a long time has a solution and members of this groups are voluntarily surrending because the government is listening to their grievances and provide assistance.
    5. Oligarchy
    Pres. Duterte expose what Mr. Lew said the Monopoly, tax evasion and pang-gigipit of ABC-CBN, Maynilad, and many others. Our president also collected or if not, close the buinesses of these Oligarchies.
    6. And what is the most important is Pres. Duterte open our eyes and tell us how politicians, oligarchs, rich people took advantage of us, Filipinos. He expose the a lot of constitutions that only favors the rich and businessmen. Adding many tax laws to milk money from the citizen and how law makers created laws for oligarch businesses that would make Filipino pay more to necessity service like water, electricity, gas, and steel company that where supposed to be run by the government. He bring back our integrity and teach us how should the government work.
    7. Protection for OFW in Middle east countries.
    And with the new Marcos-Duterte administration. They promise to continue what Pres. Duterte has started and create other programs;
    1. Will bring back our capability to be self-sufficient with regard to food.
    2. Power sufficiency
    3. Quality education
    4. Unity
    5. Renewable power source
    6. Solution with regards to oil.
    7. Foreign Policy
    and more.
