Tribute to the recently-departed Queen Elizabeth II
มุมมอง 2412 ปีที่แล้ว
This is dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II. May she rest in peace. Thanks also to the UK for giving the world the Westminster-style Parliamentary System (which ought to replace all of those dysfunctional presidential systems all around the world, including the lousy one we have in the Philippines, the ones in Latin America and Africa, because the Presidential System really sucks). And yes, thanks ...

More importantly, LKY also unequivoca...

Communism, if implemented accordingly, will eradicate the social strata. But the drive for success dies in the process! Why the extra effort when the results remain the same? Communism, at its core, is the common ownership, but, consider it my humble request, to show a leader of communist nations, who exemplifies that manifesto? Maybe only ho chi minh, that to a certain extent. So, if that core tenet itself is not fulfilled..... rest my case

Philippines will always be a corrupt place
Thank you for this.
Grabe iba talaga si lee
1:47 and unfortunately Xi Jinping has the stupidity and lived long enough to change all back again 🤣
Lee Kuan Yew once said that the Philippines is flawed because it decided to copy the American system to which it lacked the geographical vastness and natural resources of the United States. Like on paper a presidential system with a separation of powers is good on paper but your risk more corruption and differing parts of the government will want to act in their own way according to what little authority they have. Hell why does the Philippines legislature today conduct investigations and hold those congressional hearings like they are an actual trial. The legislature has forgotten its role as the organ that makes laws...the executive's Department of Justice and the Judiciary system should be handing how those laws are being violated and being interpreted.
He was a mentor and advisor to many world leaders. Including the current Chinese president. A true genius.
Oligarchs and politician: sorry but we cannot do that or will never do that
If Filipinos learnt anything they wouldn’t of voted in the son of corrupt dictator that stole $10 billion from their country 😂🤣
End 60/40 investment restrictions and open Philippines economy to the world!
We just never learn… buti pa si Lee Kuan Yew alam ang mga problema ng Pilipinas. Sana lahat ng Pilipino mapanuod ito.
You’re the same. Just complaining. What are you doing?
@ if you don’t understand im sorry for you.
Sadly it hasn’t
Discipline over democracy ❤
Everything that LKY said was true. Its just that this youtube post. took it and used it again to push its politicking agenda, fake pretentious concern of the country, Its funny that his post never high light corruption, self serving politicians and society elites who control the political and economic direction of the country for their vested interests. Yun ang pinakaimportante sa lahat. CHINA is a republic, Singapore is a republic. This grabge youtube post took LKJY's wisdom and made a crapo out of it by using it as its platform to push federalism ( which would cause more democratic political stalemate on evry majoir issues), push the blame on the people for lacking discipline.. while it was very clear from LKY that the government thepresident must set the example and phase.
The Philippines operates as a "democracy" but is still heavily influenced by an oligarchy, a small number of families with spanish, chinese, and other foreign roots. These families run the food companies, the pharmaceuticals, telecommunication and electricity companies. These "filipino" elites also have strong connections in government that enforce self-serving politics. The reason why most native born filipinos who get into government get corrupted by lust, power, envy etc. is because they lack the back-bone and integrity that comes from a strong culture of ideals, which the Philippines currently lacking. There are many reasons why the Philippines is in a weakened state-of-mind making it vulnerable to corruption.
If only we have a thinking Fiipino. Too bad being stuoid is the norm in the country. Local medias are spreading stupidity. Look at the artistas they worship like vice ganda and the like.
Can i use video for my clip?
Solid recommendations, through and through. But the Philippines did not take him seriously.
We are under crime syndicate occupation.
Filipino elections only got stupider and stupider. The candidates aren't even eloquent in their speeches any more, and the low IQ fiesta bullshit only got cranked higher.
corruption is ingrane and synonymous to filipino culture. it is present in every level of our society. the simple "padrino" "mare pare" culture is in its essense, an example of preferential treatment aka a sample of corruption. our culture is very backward thinking
It’s not just our leaders who are the problem. It’s the undisciplined Filipino people is the issue. Too much freedom! You want, progress then we all have to sacrifice for a little bit!
panoorin mo paulit ulit baka tumanim sa isip mo
/undisciplined .. Too much freedom! / Those two are not mutually exclusive btw. Also paki-picture-an/streaming nga ng basurahan sa inyo , and how you guys dispose of it, for a year preferably?
@@DEDEDE454 No. Undiscipline and democracy comes at a cost. Colorful statements for democracy but in reality, your leaders' action did not equalized with their promises. This is the problem. You get sold off as slaves being promised that your democracy will be saved by they did not fulfill their promises. People just get easily triggerred by what they see on the media. They let fear control them.
It's over... It's so over...
Filipino leader today actually no Idea about this very Good advice.
Advise is sound however, we must check if it is suitable to our culture…I think NoT! Pinoys love their freedom and too undisciplined!!!! I see impeachment in the making
@@ottoman2533 Some of the advice are done already. To educate pinoy with the reality is hard, they don't know much about outside the country, they are dump to improve thier lives, what they know is to blame the goverment.
As someone from Singapore, I'd like to see Philippines industrialize on a rapid scale, to even surpass Japan economy if possible. Lets do it for the ASEAN flag.
seeing the gen z being exuberated and shouting out freedom for democracy, freedom for democracy, the leaders are misogynists! I don't think they'll be able to to choose the right leaders in the future. They will still be chained to false promises. They will let fear overtake them
People always want to seek or hear advise from a brilliant stateman 👍👌

1992 Korean GDP per capita USD 6,500 2024 Philippines GDP per capita USD 4,200. How pathetic.
Smart amd pragmatic leader of all times. He'll be forever respected and remembered. Singaporeans are very lucky to have him as one of their leaders.
Time for the Phillipines to wake up. The very first step is to grow a backbone and not be a puppet.
Lee is wrong. China socialism with Chinese characteristics is winning far better than Singapore; China olympic gold - 42 vs Singapore - 0. (Even PH with 2 golds) Lee is not so smart that he didn't know about about Zhou En Lai's 1/1963 "4 Modernizations".
The Philippines will never progress unless it emerges from the shadow of the US.
"Democracy is worthless on an empty stomach. It's just an empty word."
The late Mr LKY was a gift to Singapore and the country has turned into the sky scraper with modern facilities with world standards. Thank you Sir and we miss you dearly.
As Filipinos, if the only contribution we can make to our country is to share this video to everyone in your contact list then we can say with conviction, that we have done our part to bring about change we so desire and need. As the famous saying goes, "ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country. Do this for your family, your neighbor, your country.
Singapore is ruled by common sense and open mind as the man said. No bullshit, no far right, no far left, and just common sense. Can other countries like US and Canada learn from this man?
LKY invited Private banks to loan Sinkaporeans money for nation infrastructure building and education
27:11 this is the point
and they voted back another Marcos 🤦🏻♂️🤦♀️🤦

Politicians serve themselves but LEE KUAN YEW was in office to make life better for everyone.
first step stop voting for corrupt, stupid and under qualified politicians
bakit sila nagpapalakpakan sa palpak ng Pinas since Marcos era
simple: #damingTANGA sa Pinas
LKY knew Marcos and the next generation of politicians were bad
True visionary in 1980s. Malaysia PMX Anwar's guru. Malaysia Madani is just PAP Malaysian Malaysia 60 years late. Respect to the best Father of Malaysia, Lee Kuan Yew.
A great man with a clear vision….. this is the greatest skillset of LKY
I think LKY is careful not to reveal the secret ingredient that made Singapore successful in this speech. He revealed it in his book - From Third World To First in his meeting with China's Deng Xiao Ping.
