If you don't believe Adam and Eve were real people then you can throw out the doctrine of sin entering the world through Adam, the doctrine of Jesus being the second Adam, the doctrine that Jesus must not come from man but from God, since If he came from the seed of man he would be born with a corrupted nature. If Adam was not the first man than this literally makes no sense. Its because one man produced all children in history that's the reason Jesus must come from God.

Adam and Eve were made of dirt. Because of the sin, the consequence was the curse of the “fabric” we were formed from “dirt”. Meanwhile the promise to fix this was shown by God in the promise He made them, temporarily shown by the slaying of animals and covering them with skin, taking away their “natural fig leaf” with blood animal skins. God tells them all the days they would work that soil and it would only yield thorns. Cain and Abel would understand this from their parents. Abel brings the promise, blood from the innocent animals. Cain brings the cursed work of his own hands. Ironically we can also see Cain likely understood God’s word and his next sacrifice sure enough “innocent blood” his brothers. Almost as if he said, oh God wants blood here God now are you satisfied?
@Joleigh Avery huh? I am completely content in Christ. I am like Abel bringing the sacrifice which is acceptable to God, who we now know is Christ, I am clothed in His skin, was not Jacob also having to clothe himself like Esau to be “clothed” to receive a blessing? This teaching we see in Genesis is clear to me, I’m not sure why everyone is so focused on “who brought the best” it’s not about the best offering, it’s not about the heart, it’s about who brought what was the ONLY RIGHT sacrifice promised by God, as only He could give “contentment” that comes from satisfying the original sin that had broken us “the day you eat you shall die”. Jesus having no sin, cancels this original decree to the day you eat of my body you shall live. Not sure what I’m confused about because this is the gospel as it’s been fully revealed.

To the Cain and Abel question: it’s answered in Hebrews. “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” Hebrews 11:4
True, but if you notice what the text says: "Cain brought *some of the fruit of the soil* as an offering to the LORD, while Abel brought *the best portions of the firstborn of his flock*." This is what makes Abel's offering "by faith," for he offered to the Lord his "best portions," not the left-overs or something that didn't cost him. That is, Abel's sacrifice, was a sacrifice; Cain's sacrifice didn't cost him as much.

I think Adam and Eve are real people because in the genealogy mentioned in Gospel of Matthew, Adam is mentioned as the son of GOD, and the genealogy is connected from the Messiah to Adam, if Adam wasn’t a real person, an actual human than there’s no way the narrator put him in a genealogy, we can’t put metaphors or images in genealogies. Adan had to be a real human, and that makes a good chance that Eve was a real human too
As Jay Dyer so frequently points out in his TH-cam videos, if you dismiss Adam as mythical, you not only undermined Genesis--you undermine the Gospels as well because Jesus treats Adam as a literal person. It's not a chance that Eve was a real person--it's a certainty.
@@annchovey2089 Revelation 3:20 has been quoted that way, but "door" can actually be understood as the door of the church at Laodicea, which had fallen into spiritual decay and apathy--maybe so much so that they were leaving Jesus Himself out of their gatherings! About the Tabernacle and Temple pointing to the Garden of Eden, one striking thing is also that, as Jesus breathes his last and literally says "All is paid", in greek, refering to the literal wiping off of a debt, the huge, heavy, thick curtain that used to separate people from the Holy of holies (aka used to forbid people to enter God's presence) and on which cherubim were represented (to symbolize the Cherubim forbidding the way to the Garden of Eden) is torn. That is such a powerful picture of God undoing the first order that He gave to the cherubim at the entrance of the Garden, to keep the way so that no human could come back to His presence (otherwise they would be stricken because of sin and die because no sin can survive God's most holy presence). It is such a blazing picture of how our sin was literally purged with such certainty that God Himself tore the veil of the Holy of Holies in the Temple, from top to bottom, when Jesus died. As a way to say : Now humans can enter My presence again, and they will not die because I made them holy, by the blood of my Son, the true perfect Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. They belong again to the Garden of Delights of the union with me. 💛
Hey guys, the reason that GOD accepted Abel’s offering over Cain’s, was that Abel’s was an offering on love through and through. He raised his sheep with love and care. He tended to them with love and care. He got to know them as individuals and knew everything about them. He even had his favorite sheep, some of which he offere to his GOD whom he loved with all his heart. So Abel’s was a sacrifice of love. Cain offered fruits and vegetables from the ground. Can you truly show love to an ear of corn? Cain loved what he had done planted, not what he raised to be loved and offered to GOD in love.

Adam and Eve were fictional characters in a Hebrew fairy tale. Jesus was arrested, tried and executed for attacking the money changers in the Jewish Temple, criticizing the authorities, stirring up the people, and committing blasphemy in public. His death had nothing to do with the Adam and Eve myth.

Gen 4 : 7 (KJV) - If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, *sin lieth at the door.* And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. I have never heard the suggestion that this "door" could be a literal door to Eden or the garden. That is quite the profound statement. What does this mean about the nature of sin and the garden? I'm still trying to wrap my head around this.
@@JamesRichardWiley If you don't believe a word of the Bible, then why bother commenting on a video about in-depth study of the Scriptures? It's a bit like me going to some random anthropology discussion video that pertains to a very specific period of their timeline just to proclaim; 'I'm so glad I don't believe any of this.' While I'm glad I don't believe in macro evolution, why would I waste my time on it? What I really think is you're on the fence and you're looking for the Truth in God's Word. Well keep seeking and I promise you that you'll find the Truth.
_Sin crouching at the door_ *is* a metaphor. In half of the major English translations, the passage is rendered "sin is crouching at _your_ door." How can "your door" be the door to Eden? Besides, Job uses "tents" metaphorically: Job 11:14 "if you put away the iniquity in your hand, and allow no injustice to dwell in your tents" And Cain and Abel were born long after Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden. There's no way "door" refers to the entrance of Eden.
As you are talking about Moses on Sinai, it is a reminder that that too was a pattern of the Tabernacle. The people were at the base with the stone boundary set up, the 70 elders went up part way and Moses went up farther into the "cloud" or Holy Holies. Outer courts where all could come to-inner court where the priests served-and Holy of Holies
In three short cryptic verses (Exodus 4:24-26), God seeks to kill Moses - who is only saved when his wife Zipporah takes a flint, cuts off their son’s foreskin and touches Moses feet with it. Neither "God" nor "Moses" or what they do are real. Wake up to the natural world where these stories are not true - only man made fiction.

Hi John and Tim, I can give what may be a better answer to Nseven's question about God's preference for Abel's offering but not Cain's. In the Bible, especially the original manuscript, every detail is critical. In our NIV translation of Genesis, in 4:3 it says Cain offered "some" of his produce, contrasted to 4:4 in which Abel gave the first fruits and the best if his produce. We see later in the Bible that God accepts only our best offerings, and the story of Cain and Abel has that foreshadowed.
3:20 The door of the Tabernacle. 4:29 Genesis 4 4 / Leviticus 4 4 7:37 Genesis 12 6-7 9:01 Paradise in the New Testament. 10:38 Historical Adam and Eve.
With regard to the Tabernacle representing Eden, it should also be noted that the Tabernacle (whether a tent or a building) was always built with the doors facing East. This is because Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden to the east. As a result, when priests entered the Tabernacle, they would walk westward towards the presence of God in the Holy of Holies. And when they'd exit, they would walk eastward, away from His presence.
If tribulation of the heart comes your way seek peace in Jesus Christ. Depart from evil keep it far from you, arrive at righteousness dwell in it and the joy and peace will be without limits 🙏🏼
As to Cain, I might suggest that his offering was not brought with a pure heart which is why God "had no regard". As stated earlier, Cain brought an offering with no mention as to it being purposefully set apart. It's just "an offering". Shortly after, Cain becomes not just hurt or rejected, he becomes "very angry" and visibly so. He showed his anger with a "face [that] was gloomy". In almost all circumstances, joyful people don't just become "very angry" towards someone they love so quickly. Therefore, I might suggest that Cain's heart was already in a poor state, on the verge of anger... as he brought his offering. God, therefore, rejected his offering because it was not Cain's best and it was given in some sort of poor state of heart. I believe God's questions of Cain about this anger substantiate this theory. As an aside, thank you Tim and Jon for helping me to dig into the meanings behind the meanings of the Bible. Not only has my knowledge grown, but my faith as well. Lord, continue to bless these men and their team in all the work they do. Amen!
I always wondered how it all ends in Revelation, it speaks of the kingdom and priests in Rev 7 and Rev 14, the 144,000 kingdom and priests. How do we know who they are? and Where to find them? Does anyone know?
ABOUT THE DOOR… The Strong’s concordance says it’s figuratively, as a door to the heart of Cain. But let’s consider it is not. When God says “sin is crouching at the door”, and the only door around was the one of the Garden of Eden, and Cain is already outside of the Graden, that would mean sin is inside the garden, waiting for Cain to open the door so it can get him. I don’t believe that it makes sense, theologically, that on THAT VERSE God would be referring to an actual door.
Metaphorical doors in Scripture: Luk 13:24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able." Joh 10:2 "But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep." Specifically, 'door of the heart': Rev 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."

I can answer the question at 4:58. The idea behind a sacrifice means to take the life of something as replacement for another. So blood must be shed for a sacrifice to be accepted, that’s why animals are used. On the other hand, grains and fruits were not used as sacrifices, but as offerings. These offerings were used to feed the priests and cater for their needs. So God wouldn’t accept a plant offering, because its against the principles of a sacrifice.
Since Adam and Eve both sinned, why is it that women have to be “subject,“ and why aren’t women allowed in the temple, or the holy place? And even in the New Testament, Women are told to keep silent, and not hold positions of authority. Can you please dive deeply into these questions? Thanks very much; this was a great episode!
It's in 1 Timothy 2:13-14 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. First it says about the creation order. Man first then woman. Next it says about fallen order. Women first then man. it just says the order God wanted.
In addition to the commit by “Eben”, Eve was created to be a helper or help mate, women are subject also because of Genesis 3:16 “...and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”
Women are subjected only after the fall. It is a curse for their part in the turning from God. And it goes deeper than that, it’s an emotional thing which plays out day after day. Both had their part and both experienced the result of their actions. The women being silent was a response to some contentious women at that church, it’s in a letter to a specific church. It is debatable whether it was meant as a blanket rule for all churches., all female Christians shut up. I think that is how it’s been used but I doubt that is the intent of God considering other scripture where women were a large part in the church. Jesus never told women to leave him, he was supported by a large number of women.
@@dsatt57 women can have ministry . we are not talking about that. its about spiritual authority over men. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. its not talking about one particular church. it's churches . to timothy in another church 1 Timothy 2:11-12 11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
@bibleproject This was great to hear your interaction with the comments. Is this intended to be a regular thing with all of your videos moving forwards?
Okay so i hope someone in Bible Project reads this because ive had a question on my mind about a question someone asked in the video. I actually was studying Genesis one day and i was confused when reading Genesis 3:16 about the temptation and the fall. It specifically says that the labor pains of the woman will be intensified. Intensified would imply that they used to not be as painful. With the notion of no pain or tears in heaven, id assume in the garden as well, right? So was Eve giving birth in the garden without the pain? When thinking about how Cain went into a new area and built a city apart from his parents, could these people have been descendants of adam and eve who were also exiled from the garden? They were the first people on earth as God created Adam and Eve so no one before them. They are allowed to marry their siblings for now. I also point out that woman were not always mentioned in the Bible throughout many forms like genealogy so Cain could have been the first born son but not the first born.

I think it is absolutely true that God made humanity in His image and that the main purpose behind it is to reveal Himself through us. In Genesis, the very first observation Moses makes after recording the fact that humanity was made in God’s image was that God gave them dominion. The story strongly hints that the evil intent of the Serpent preceded our creation and that the first temptation had to do with insinuations regarding God’s motives in His dealings - that they were other than love and essentially tended toward slavery. By giving humanity dominion, He could show, in an object lesson, the true nature of His rule. As priests representing the earth before God, Adam and Eve represented earths interest before God. The destiny of earth depended upon the exercise of their freewill which represented the collective will of creation, so to speak. In sinning against God, they handed their dominion over to the Adversary (Luke 4:6). Had God taken this dominion back by force, He would have validated Satan’s indictment in Genesis. Instead, He, through Jesus, The Son of Man, won that dominion back for humanity not through force, but through the ultimate exercise of what God always intended to be the governing principle of the entire universe - Love.
The Bible tells us there's a river flowing from Eden to the garden meaning the garden cannot be on the top of the mountain or even up the mountain because water does not flow uphill. So there may be a hill or Mountain in Eden but the garden is not on that mountain due to it having to be downhill for the rivers to flow to it and water it.

The Genealogical Adam and Eve
71m • July 5, 2021
If you don't believe Adam and Eve were real people then you can throw out the doctrine of sin entering the world through Adam, the doctrine of Jesus being the second Adam, the doctrine that Jesus must not come from man but from God, since If he came from the seed of man he would be born with a corrupted nature. If Adam was not the first man than this literally makes no sense. Its because one man produced all children in history that's the reason Jesus must come from God.

Another clue about Cain's offering is that he doesn't even bring the firstfruits of his harvest. Abel brought the firstborn of his flock.
Thank you Cain didn’t provide an acceptable offering, that’s why it was rejected, very simple
Thanks for letting us know!
@@seanpalmer8758 that's deep, thank you.

To the Cain and Abel question: it’s answered in Hebrews. “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.”
Hebrews 11:4
God knew that Cain would kill his brother.

I think that if Adam and Eve were symbolic, Jesus's lineage wouldn't mean anything because he came from the line of Seth, Adam and Eves 3rd child.
Adam and Eve indeed existed, you can easily understand it from the Bible. Even Paul talks about it, in Romans 5.

_Sin crouching at the door_ *is* a metaphor.
In half of the major English translations, the passage is rendered "sin is crouching at _your_ door." How can "your door" be the door to Eden?
Besides, Job uses "tents" metaphorically:
Job 11:14
"if you put away the iniquity in your hand, and allow no injustice to dwell in your tents"
And Cain and Abel were born long after Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden.

Amen, Lord!

Amen!
God had no control over the situation.

I always wondered how it all ends in Revelation, it speaks of the kingdom and priests in Rev 7 and Rev 14, the 144,000 kingdom and priests. How do we know who they are? and Where to find them? Does anyone know?
ABOUT THE DOOR…
The Strong’s concordance says it’s figuratively, as a door to the heart of Cain.
Mind blowing🤯🤯🤯
Metaphorical doors in Scripture:
Luk 13:24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able."
Joh 10:2 "But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep."
Specifically, 'door of the heart': Rev 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."

Lilith is mentioned in the Talmud. She may come from Mesopotamian mythology originally.

Hi guys love your work blessings to you and your family's
I've recently been translating godly music vids with Spanish subtitles, so feel free to spread them to the Spanish speaking community
It's in 1 Timothy 2:13-14
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve;
14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
They shouldn't be a leader over men or teach at church .If you look at the church history we can't see it until 1960's.
1Co 14:34 the women should keep silent in the 'churches'. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says.
its not talking about one particular church. it's churches .

1 Timothy 2:11-12
11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
@bibleproject This was great to hear your interaction with the comments. Is this intended to be a regular thing with all of your videos moving forwards?
Can you please make a video about what's really happening or the relationship between Jesus and Maria Magdalene. Thankyou so much!

Your first analysis left me with a question. Is Eve also a Royal priest?
They are both to serve as priests on earth (serving in oneness, "the twain being one flesh"). Together they are singularly (by divine unity) "The Royal Priest of God"

Absolutely
The Bible tells us there's a river flowing from Eden to the garden meaning the garden cannot be on the top of the mountain or even up the mountain because water does not flow uphill. So there may be a hill or Mountain in Eden but the garden is not on that mountain due to it having to be downhill for the rivers to flow to it and water it.
