I was saved-out from a 7-generation legacy of Mormonism-while listening to a Gospel in Life podcast on Jan. 7, 2020. God placed truth in my way through the relational seed planting of friends (some of whom were part of Redeemer, San Diego:)) during the last decade of my 40+ year journey in a deep wilderness of religion. The Gospel changed everything for my family that day. Thank you Lord for your durable Kingdom on earth and your durable and powerful word preached so clearly and shared in love by so many of your children❤.

Praise God for rescuing you!! Would you mind sharing at what point in the Jan. 7, 2020 podcast the Holy Spirit opened your eyes to the Gospel or what was the truth that broke through to your heart? Your testimony is very encouraging, including the relational seed planting of friends that helped prepare your heart.

"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me," (quoting Jesus) John 5:39. I'm a teacher and curriculum writer, and I am so helped in my walk with Jesus and in what and how I teach by Tim's ability to point us to Jesus--and it NEVER gets old. Yes, God bless Tim and Kathy and all who work behind the scenes to get these solid messages out to the world.

I have seen many ministers speaking on video podcasts over the years, however I think Tim Keller is very much a favourite of mine as I have seen him as a man of great compassion and always spoke so well. He may very well have gone to spend eternity with our Lord now, but he has left so much for Earth's people to implement in their daily lives.

Tim Keller is best known for showing us Jesus.
In this video he did it again by showing us that every main character of Genesis points to Jesus.
These 3 ideas will change the way you read Genesis.
    Here’s a breakdown of each one: 👇
    ---
    #1: Abraham
Abraham leaves his comfort zone, goes to the wilderness where he was always a pilgrim without a settled home, so that God could turn his family into a source of blessing for all.
But Jesus is the true Abraham, who in order to save us, "went out, not knowing where he was going." (Genesis 12:4, Hebrews 11:8)
    ---
    #2: Isaac
Isaac is offered up, so that God could say to Abraham "Now I know that you love me because you did not withhold your son, your only son, whom you love from me." (Genesis 22:12)
Jesus is the true Isaac, who was not just offered up, but actually lost his life, so that...we can say to God, about the true Isaac, looking at the cross, "Now WE know that you love us, because you did not withhold your only son from us."
    ---
    #3: Joseph
Jesus is the true Joseph, because even though he was rejected, he rose up, so he could forgive his brethren and save them.
    ---
    The POINT:
The blessing of God is lost in the beginning of Genesis, and throughout the book, people try to get that blessing back. But the blessing we so desperately look for in work, having spouses, lots of children, making money, can only be found in the face of Jesus.

thanks, interesting - but we part at min 8 . Jacob is a Hebrew name, (in Hebrew arithmetic - gimatria = 182) he wrestled with Malac = 91 (angel). it means that Jacob struggled with-himself (malac 91 + malac 91 = Jacob 182) malac 91 ha - Elomim 91 = Jacob 182. so, as you see it's all in His mind, in his thought, in a dream. nothing to do with Jesus being Jacob (or any other person) it's between you and your conscience. Jacob certainly had to justify stealing the blessing he got by cheating Eisav being pushed by his mother. so, the Hebrew bible is written in Hebrew - surely you'll agree that the original book doesn't need translation or salvation in a different language, certainly not by someone (born 2500 years after Jacob) who never even spoke Hebrew or wrote. simple logic. the original Bible was written directly by first encounter- contact with the divine ... you can't "improve or change or add to it" not by "modern" mediators, certainty not by 4 people who again never wrote or read Hebrew. NT is hearsay after hearsay decades after ... it doesn't convey the main paradigm - if you wish to understand divinity you can extract the knowledge from the book, not through a person. no one saves you but yourself. no one forgives you but yourself - money won't buy you love, and Christians who wish to connect with their god face a line of "appointed people" standing before them a costume show from your local priest to the pope and maybe then ... conditions control promises

TIim, it is significant what you omit from your message, no righteous Able who is slan for his faith in the slain lambs, that He received by seeing his father and mothers sacrificial clothing supplied by God in His sovereign Grace, after they disobeyed God and forfeited the right to the tree of Life, provided for them in His sovereign Grace, and how amazing that Able saw this in His parents sacrifical skins, but Cain either did not see, or did not want to see, and the same is true of most of Christendom today, they see the guilt of Adam and Eve , but do not see God's sovereign Grace , and teach that their whole family have inherited their guilt, but not God's sovereign Grace , and because we know that says that Cain was wicked and of the wicked One, and Able was righteous and of God, meaning Cain was a child of the Devil and Able was a child of God, and therefore Adam's family were not all evil, and the third Son of Adam and Eve , Seth, began to call on the name of the Lord, so what we know of Adam's direct descendants, two out of three of his boys were believers .w all all know that this changes in the days of Noah, and only two men are said to walk with God, but even so all men were not classified as wicked

Genesis 1 is Lucifer and the fallen angels.
They made man in their image.
Man is an idol, a trap to hunt angels.
    Only one Gospel:
    The Gospel of Reconciliation.
Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom
to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself.
We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness.
If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever.
Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods).
    REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.
