How to Make the Most Incredible Chai

  • Learn to how to make Doodh Patti Chai, a variation of the Karak Chai. Recipe below! Chai/Tea is such a comfort drink, for many all around the world. This recipe elevates the masala chai by adding saffron. Just a pinch does wonders.
    You can find the teabags in any grocery store or asian-specialty grocery store. They are marked as Chai or Orange Pekoe. Popular brands are Lipton, Tetley & Red Rose.
    //Recipe
    Serves: 2
    Ingredients
    - 3 Cups of Milk
    - 2 cardamoms
    - 1 cinnamon stick
    - 2 cloves
    - 1 tbsp of sliced ginger
    - 4 teabags
    - Sugar to taste (I liked 2 tsp)
    - Saffron (4-5 twigs per cup/serving)
    - Optional: 1 tsp sonf
    Method
    1. Add milk to a cold pot and turn on medium heat
    2. Add tea bags, cinnamon stick & cloves
    3. Slice Ginger & add to pot
    4. Keep stirring to avoid milk burning at the bottom
    5. Add sugar once you start to see the chai change color
    6. Let the tea almost boil over. Remove from heat for 10 seconds.
    7. Return to heat and let almost boil over again. Remove from heat. Repeat once more.
    8. Strain the tea and enjoy!
