NONSURGICAL alternative to thyroidectomy: My experience with Thyroid RFA (July 2019)

- Here's the story of my trip to Charlottesville, Virginia where I had a nonsurgical alternative to thyroidectomy called thyroid radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to shrink my massive thyroid nodule.
Update: After a recent conversation with my doctor, I learned that my nodule was actually 65-75 mL in volume prior to treatment, rather than 42. This was discovered when looking at more recent imaging, taken after my allergic reaction to antibiotics in May 2019. The other volume was taken from imaging done in February 2019.

@@jadasblackownedbeautysuppl3675 I’m doing good. My nodules are constantly shrinking. I can tilt my head back in the shower and wash my hair without feeling like I’m being choked lol if you’re considering it go fo it!!
Can you pls share which hospital has this procedure and in which city. I think in Canada not available 😢😢
@@rbh2966 you will have to do a google search, the procedure is outpatient so you will have to go to a specialist. I’m sure the options have increased since I had mine done 2yrs ago, now we need to petition for our insurances to cover the cost
@@morganbarber5009 thank you for replying 🙏. I searched on google. Couldn’t find anything in Canada 🇨🇦. I am going to see surgeon on April 19. Don’t want to go for surgery. Now I changed my diet from last 2 months. 70 percent raw food included. It effects but very slowly. Hope for good. You are lucky and I wish you all the best in all way for future 🙏
I had PEI cause I got cyst. My doctor has RFA therapy too for the solid thyroid patients.

Do you suggest castor oil packs? Can you treat them without any procedures?? Im trying to get help but so far nothing was suggested to me on how to help it in the meantime. I have alot of congestion, feels like a lump in my throat alot of symptoms, when i move a certain way i cough, have anxiety that im trying to manage its been really stressful
I dont have experience with that. Definitely do your research and let me know if you try it!

My dr is Dr. Auh Whan Park. He has moved to UTSW in Dallas.
How big was your nodule? Mine is 4cm and i had a biopsy I'm scared to receive the results
It was about 4.5 by 6 or 7. I didn't have exact dimensions after my allergic reaction. It was somewhere between 65 and 75 ml.

@@squaredancemama I had an allergic reaction to Cipro. I talk about it in some of my videos.
Was your nodule malignant?
No
How do I get this procedure is it safe
Yes, it's very safe and there is lots of scientific data showing that. We maintain a list of drs on our community website, saveyourthyroid.org.
Obviously, size is no indication of whether cancerous or not. Also how old are you?
I had to have 2 benign biopsies to be a candidate for the procedure. At this time, I was 36.
Is it occurred recurrence?
Recurrence is rare. It is important for RFA/PEI patients to follow up regularly with their physician to monitor with ultrasound.
has the size of the nodule decreased ?
Yes, by almost 70 percent!

I had insurance coverage for most of mine. Costs vary, so you'll need to reach out directly to a provider for an accurate estimate.

Organic selenium shrinks nodules In thyroid
Can you tell me what brand and what mg you should start off with
@@Always.Rejoicemy dr told me that zinc and selenium will only shrink nodules if you have Graves disease or autoimmune reason for hyperthyroidism. It didn't shrink mine and I took them for 3 months.
