thank you for putting these videos up. I only just found you and I appreciate you detailing your journey. I'm newly diagnosed with both invasive ductal and lobular carcinomas for a breast side I wasn't even being seen for. Lot's to consider and I'm feeling my path will be a double mastectomy. I don't want radiation nor chemo either... I also don't want the hormonal treatment since I'm Estrogen and progesterone positive with some K1 something... HER2 neg, but still... only just learned all this a week ago and I'm trying to learn as much as I can before my 3-doc appointment this coming Monday (surgeon, oncologist and radiologist).... so I'm not doing in blind. I appreciate you sharing your story and I've watched several of your vids already and will be following you. Thank you again!
I'm not a doctor, so it's not my place to act as expert, but radiation gives a burn that damages skin long term, but it also can damage your heart and other tissues. Many women have long term side effects. That said, it is getting better. They have shorter and more targeted therapies these days. I have way too many trust issues with the medical community. I think the stress would have caused even more medical issues for me. Each of us has our own set of needs.
No, they didn’t offer it. Maybe I was too skinny? I’m interviewing my friend today about her DIEP experience for my new podcast though-comes out Sunday, called “A Breast Cancer Diary”

Thank you for your video. I am struggling to make the decision. Could you share the long-term side effects on the radiation? Thank you.

Did you consider a diet flap reconstruction?
