Sounds stupid, I know, but I LOVE the color choices on thes RPS Hawk: Honda Red, "Yomama" Blue, and Kawi Green! Wish the DLX came in those colors and white. I agree with you, MotoCheez, and many others that these bikes are a great value in many ways, especially since pioneers like you have demystified them and their idiosyncrasies for U.S. Bought a Honda XR150L last year for my daughter's b-day and paid more than double for what isva made in China, assembled in Mexico Honda that is likely a very close cousin of the Hawk. Thanks again for shining a light on this bike, for sharing it with U.S., and for your graciousness in sharing your spotlight with MotoCheez. You two have earned a prominent spot at the entrance to the China Bikes' Hall of Fame!
Thanks so much for the kind words, I like the colors too. I picked red because I didnt' see as many red ones at the time but now that it's seen some sun it's fading to more of a pink. HAHA - I'm trying to get settled to where I can make some new content so maybe I'll do one and see if I can refresh the plastic.
I’m curious how this gel would hold up in the southeast. 104 degrees high this week and leaving that black seat parked in the sun makes it brutally hot. I would worry about melting. Great video by the way. I think I am gonna trim my hump tonight, sick of it forcing me forward on the bike and I’m only 5’11.
Ya it really is a poor design. I'm not sure about the gel holding up, it's made of Polyurethane I believe which typically has a temp rating up to 200 degrees F so I don't think it would melt. I will say though after the bike sitting in the sun it felt like the section with the gel held more head in it than the seat foam. So that would be something to bare in mind.
hey, great vid! Maybe this bike is designed for a smaller person w/o the 1 size fits all mentality? I have looked for an aftermarket replacement seat but you show its easy enuff and the stock upholstery snugs right back in place. YES, that hump is bothersome for a full-sized adult rider. There is only 1 need for a "HUMP" but that would be a different kind of video.
I mean dirt bikes and motorcycles in general aren't usually 1 size fits all, or even most, right out of the gate, but they are highly customizable. However I will say a shorter rider might be totally comfortable with the stock seat and these are chinese made after all. I don't know the statistics but I feel like the average height of a chinese person is shorter than some other ethnicities such as the average american.
Question, does the Hawk have a storage compartment under the seat? I haven't seen anyone show under the seat at all. I know there's a box above the rear wheel under the fender.
It's partly due to the dissimilar materials where I put in the gel. If I was reshaping just the foam I would spend more time shaping it. Can't notice it with the gel - so far so good.
The fuel valve as in like the petcock at the bottom of the fuel tank? I'm not sure, the efi may not have one I know there's no reserve but I'm not sure if there's a fuel shut off valve to be honest. You might check out @motocheez he has a few videos on the Hawk DLX that might help you out
An electric knife is very easy and precise to use. Once you try it you won't use anything else.
Great channel!
I was looking forward to this.
Ya I have one and I was going to give it a whirl but it was going so well with the bread knife I didn't bother. Thanks for checking it out!!

No, sadly there's no storage compartment just that little plastic box.
good video but I got motion sickness from all the camera jumping around.
maybe some day I can afford a camera with better image stabilization
It doesn’t look smooth, the lines are distorted.
someone did this to mine and it’s a total nut buster in the trail.

Looks fine to me. @@skydcontrol
just found and now like your videos.. but the camera movements are way to much. put on tripod.. almost got seasick.
