  • In this video I get to actually tearing the head off and getting to the head gasket. I'll also show you a comparison of the new thinner TT250 gasket I'm using and then we put it all back together. This is good for a small increase in compression which in turn gives you a small increase in power. Cheap and easy to do, I think it's totally worth it.

You need to get a better cam shaft and port out the intake and exhaust with a dremel

a port and polish would help some, there isn't much available in the way of cams, but a 4 degree timing key is another thing that would help. But at what point are you wasting money and effort to squeeze a tiny bit more out of this engine. So far I'm happy with it, I still have the new exhaust to put on and that'll open her up some.

    Good content 👍
Was there a good difrence with the gasket replacement, as far as power?

I did the swap before ever starting the bike - It was part of my setup, in a way I wish I would have waited to see if there was a difference. In theory there has to be because you are increasing the compression, but we're talking about a machine with 16hp. I will say, it's been running great.

A before and after compression test would have been interesting to see . Wonder if You lapped the valves in before reassembly if that would help also , but then again it’s a 229cc Chinese motor depends on the person I guess

I've heard that a port and polish makes a big difference on these especially if you go up to a bigger intake and carb. Ya a compression test would have been interesting, I didn't even think of that, but then again I don't have a tester either. :-)

A compression tester is cheap. You can even get them as rental from pretty much any big chain parts store.

ya I wasn't interested in the actually compression, although a before and after would have been cool. I could calculate the ratio, but I know it's not a big enough bump to be dramatic
