Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel. In this video I list the main points you should be aware if you are planning to being pregnant in Germany or if you are already pregnant and living in Germany :)
I talk about midwives in germany, doctors, the german mutterpass, maternity leave in germany, the german health insurance and the need to learn new pregnancy german vocabulary. Check my next video to learn some of the word you will need to communicate with your german midwife and doctor.
I hope this information helped you! If yes don't forget to leave a comment down below.

Hello
After confirming to your employer about the pregnancy will the pregnant woman (employee) still get paid even after Seeing that she cant work for a certain period of time or will she be fired out of work and with no pay?
Hi Lilian. According to the "Mutterschaftsgesetz" a dismission by the employer is not permitted during pregnancy and until four months after birth. However there are a few exceptions. I have a video just about the Mutterschaftsgesetz, aka maternity law, check it for more info and also get to know where you can search for more detailed information: th-cam.com/video/2KPcf-a45jo/w-d-xo.html
Let me know if I can help you further ☺️ All the best, Marga
Thank you so much for this video! Really helpful. At which week should you start looking for a midwife/hebamme? Also its really difficult to communicate with doctors here if you dont speak German. Any tips?
Der Jesna, thank You so much for Your feedback! You can look for a midwife as soon as you know you are pregnant. In some cities midwives are swamped with work (like Heidelberg), so I would recommend to start searching from the very beginning of your pregnancy. I am thinking about doing a video with more midwife support details. If I can help you with more information let me know 😉
ABOE by Marga baby&family That would be amazing! Looking forward to the midwife video. Thank you for your reply!
Can you please tell me about the newborn impfung schedule in Germany
We need to plan eltern seit and vacation.
We want to go for 5 months but don’t no when the schedule have the gap for 5 months ☹️
Hi Nazneen! Thank you very much for your comment. That is a great topic to do a video about. But just so you get your answer right now: in Germany it is planned that babies get vaccinated at 6 weeks-old ,2 months-old, 3 months-old, 4 months-old and between 11 and 14 months-old. So I would say, concerning vaccination, the best time to go for 5 months would be between after the 4 months-old vaccination and the 11 months-old. However there are also scheduled examinations, thaw are: 4-5 weeks-old (U3), 3-4 months-old (U4), 6-7 months-old (U5), 10-12 months-old (U6), 21-24 months-old (U7)... honestly I am not sure if it is ok to miss one examination, in your case the U5. I would suggest you to talk to your pediatrician about it. I hope this information helped you. All the best for you and your family!
@@margaexpatmotheringermany Thank you somuch thanks a lot for your reply dear.
Its was a badly needed info for me.I wish all the best for all your journey in life and also love for baby.😍💚😇
Thank you ❤️❤️
You seem to mix up Kindergarten and Krippe. Kindergarten starts at tge age of 3 only and you don't have to apply before birth already.
Hi Peter! Thank tou for your comment 🙏🏼 You're right 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you for spotting it. I will make a note on the description of the video. I wanted to say day care (Kitta/Krippe/Tagesmutter). I actually have a video about the differences between those: th-cam.com/video/QJcHPkOWs9w/w-d-xo.html
Do midwives take care of C-section too
Yes 😊
@@margaexpatmotheringermany wow
what about organism scan of baby?? insurance will pay for it or not??
Hi Miraal. It is usually part of the normal ultrasound. Or are you asking about something else? Do you know the exact name of that examination?
@@margaexpatmotheringermany i got my anatomy scan and dr said its normal...but he suggested us to take baby water test for further examine ...but i am not willing for it...is it necessary or not
@@desimomlife you mean the amniotic fluid? He suggested because he saw something, or just because he suggests it to everyone? It is always your choice anyways.
@@margaexpatmotheringermany he suggested before my scan just for our satisfaction...now i am 24 week pregnant and i am afraid of this test ...that's why i dont want it...he said its up to you...
@@desimomlife Ok. Yes that is an extra test, not covered by the state health insurance. It is completely your choice.
Hi! I wanted to ask if I should go to the frauarzt before pregnancy to discuss with her? Right now I am planning to have a baby.
Hi F A! I guess you can do it if you would like. But I guess that is not common. Also, if you have a consultation just to discuss a possible future pregnancy with her, I don't believe that the health insurance (if you have a state one) will assume the costs. You can talk to your Frauenärztin next time you go for a routine appointment.
Wish you all the best 😊👶👣
my dr dont give me any Ultrasound profile pic or report about baby....
Really 😰 we just got once one picture. But I guess we could have ask for the other ultrasounds also.
Please help me my wife is pregnant
And I want to live in Germany
If the child is born in Germany, will we be allowed to stay?
Hi Jamil, the answer is not straight forward. I think this website might help you: handbookgermany.de/en/born-in-germany
Wish your coming baby all the best!
I am not sure about this
If you want help you simply have to ask for it and in 99% of cases you'll get it.
That is true. But that was not my point. For me is weird that we even need to ask, where I come from you don't need to.
@@margaexpatmotheringermany That´s just a cultural diference. Most Germans won´t just approach a stranger without being asked. That doesn´t mean they´re not prepared to help.
@@peterfischer7084 Exactly. Cultural differences are very relevant. Specially if you are a foreigner living on another country.
But in italy not like that..they r respect all time any where in pregnant lady..in supermarcate, street, bus, train...all the side they r help in pregnant woman..👮
That is great!! Also how I am used to in my home country (Portugal). It's a pity that it was not how I felt as a pregnant woman in Germany.
is it necessary to find a midwife here or only hospital enough?? i go for check up to OB dr ...23 week preg...kindly reply
Hi Miraal! Great point that you are raising. The answer would be: No, it is not necessary to find a midwife. But (there is always a but 😜) and specially if is your first child and you are far from your family (mother, ants, cousins...) a midwife will be a huge help, she will do constant check-ups on you and your baby, will answer all your questions (and trust me, you will have many!) and she will also identify any other healthy issue that needs support form other health specialists. A midwife would make you feel more supported and confident. I hope this answers your question 😊 wish you and your baby all the best!
@@margaexpatmotheringermany Thank You so much dear..
