  • In this video I show you how to set the sub image index when using a sub UV for your particle.

    Niagara SUB UV Slow Playback
Hi Gordon , congratulations for your tutorials, i hope you can help me
I have 2 questions about Niagara SUB UVI am using EU 5.2, with only one spawnRate:
I try to slow down the reading of the sub UVs for this, I try to modify the curve in the SubUVanimation module, but it is not very convincing,
also can we create a user parameter? At worst the module does not display all the images.
My images pile up, while I would like them to scroll one after the other
    Best regards
    Denis

I just found a first answer: The Sub UVanimation module is based on the "NormalizedAge" in SubUV Lookup Index therefore, the scrolling of the images will be done in relation to the Lifetime in Initialize particle, it is enough to increase or decrease to modify the scrolling speed of the SUB UV . On the other hand, I don't know why the images pile up without scrolling.

When you set these sub UV image index you could attach that to a user parameter that you pass in and control from within your blueprint. Then you could slowly increment the value that you pass in from zero to your max index, and it would scroll through the images one after the other.

f the previous method worked for Spawn Burst,
      this works with Spawn Rates.
The idea is to modify the Sub UVanimation module
And particularly the SubUV Lookup index line by modifying it with a multiply float.
In A we will look in the parameters for the Particle NormalizeAge
In B we enter either a constant, or a user parameter that we create.
      That works.
