Madden will continue to be bought because they have built a money machine around. Called tournaments!! So to CHANGE Madden is NOT the answer. The focus should be to CHANGE the NFL exclusive license agreement. We can do this by sharing bad videos with players and how poorly they are represented. Then ask them to demand an open license with the NEXT agreement!!! That WILL CHANGE Madden because competition will be right there and they will have no choice.

A free market and competition breeds greatness. The 2k series proves that. Still the best football game ever. I spent so many hours on that game, building my team, trading players, drafting players, etc. Hell, you could literally substitute any player for any player you wanted. They had the play package diagram and you could highlight any player and substitute him for anybody you wanted. I used to put my fastest QB, even if he was a backup, as the place kick holder on FGs and then run the fake. I could put a WR or RB at the TE position. You could substitute your entire kick off team and put all of your best defensive players in there and make your special teams insanely good. It was just amazing and I pray that the NFL realizes how bad Madden is making them look and finally let other developers make games as well.
That's never going to happen and it sucks. That's solely because Madden still has millions upon millions of fans who are oblivious and insanely happy with the game and the current state it's in. This means that the game still makes millions upon millions of dollars in profit every year, and a portion of that goes to the NFL. No other licensed game could compete with the amount of money Madden generates, so therefore no other licensed game would retain any appeal with the NFL. EA gets what they want and the NFL get what they want in this situation, and that's why no changes will occur.
In madden 19 Richard Sherman got an int literally right through Larry Fitzgerald's face/helmet. The football was literally Larry's face for a few frames!!!
I personally think the NHL games are solid and the team produces a far better game than the Madden team every year despite having half the budget and resources. And while I won't buy EA games new anymore I will pick up a used copy of the previous year's NHL every couple years. And the fact that the NHL team is far more capable of replicating their sport than the NFL team is an indictment. And if you took out the child gambling then you'd see the FIFA and NHL games are actually decent to be fair. Honestly this year's NHL totally revamped the skating, movement and locomotion and it's far more than all of what Madden added between 19 and 20. And that's only one thing NHL impoved or added this year. NHL has practically every single professional hockey league in the world in the game, Madden has 32 fucking teams. There's no viable excuse Madden should be so bad.
No joke, haven't played it purchased ANY football game since NFL 2K5... Which I played for 3 years after it's release, updating it by myself to keep it as fresh as possible. EA's Madden has ZERO chance to improve because there is no competition out there to push it since the contract agreement of the rights. I only pray that you make enough videos like this, that someday, GOD I HOPE, some day...we get a good football simulation game again.

EA really blew a horse with this game. I originally gave it the benefit of the doubt first playing it since I didnt play madden since 15. They took so many little things out, like pumping up the crowd, referees, crowd chanting defense (I havent heard it yet). Not to mention the gameplay is shit now

Madden is not simulation, competitive, or even arcade...it’s a RPG like final fantasy. Basically a movie and you press buttons every now in then to alter the outcome.
Madden is not simulation because nobody wants that anymore. Nobody cares about realism simulation games are a Dying Breed. Realistic games are too frustrating to people. People want to come home escape from their stressful lives and just relax and play a game. Realism in games are long gone. And I don't see it returning for a while because the rise in popularity with anime and superhero movies. So Ryan Moody continues to beat a dead horse here.

Essentially, my friend is tossing up a pass to an Offensive Lineman in double coverage in the back corner of the end zone... and the lineman not only catches it, but he catches it one-handed and manages to get both feet down. But it's not over there... because then my friend gets another touchdown. And he decides to do another fake. This time a rollout pass with his holder. He finds himself once again throwing it up to an Offensive Lineman. This time, with a backup Quarterback to an offensive lineman in tight coverage again in the back of the end zone. It is once again a one-handed catch and he gets both feet down. WTF!
You nailed it when you said "It's not competitive football", but in a different way. EA has no competition in the arena for football games. That's why we're seeing the slide in quality of Madden games. When you'e the only company making a product you can put out anything and people literally have to buy it or piss off.

This is a big bug and idky noones talking about it. All the goals and texts you get relate to QB, no matter what position you play. Makes anything except QB impossible to play unless you start off pro level.

Though I haven't been a regular gamer to Madden since it was on the PC the last time I can see SO many things going on here that remind me of the NHL series, which I am VERY familiar with since before the full-lockout season. It's all here!! The stuff-passing-though-other-stuff physics, the awkward movements (or non-movements), the list full of different animations that "lock you out" of your controller or make no sense, and all the things that reek of "scripted situations" are all here just like they are in the NHL series. I don't know if it's the same for Madden, but these things seem A LOT more common, normal, or front-and-center now than they were on the last-gen consoles (PS3/360). Don't get me started on the amount of "fat-man lag" we have in the NHL game. I seriously hope that's not a thing in Madden, though I wouldn't be surprised if it is. ANYWAYS, GREAT STUFF you are showing us, and only if EA would take notice.
I appreciate you continuing to make videos about Madden and EA like this. This game is dictated way to much by animations than it is by user control. Too many times have I been beat by ridiculous animations or a lack there of. To all of those that bash you on making videos on all of the negatives vice the positives about this game, to heck with them. Because the first step in fixing a problem is acknowledging the problem! Exactly why i returned Madden week 2. If we have to pay $60 for a game it should not have these type of issues if there able to be fixed with actually putting forth an effort.

as long as they keep the license to this and star wars, they will continue to be around...now is the time for a big AAA company to still EA's sports thunder. As well as sports games sell, its amazing you dont see it. i guess not having a NFL license keeps companies away. But it is possible to make good sports games. The Show is amazing for instance.
EA should really just give the graphics an overhaul. If they just go back to NES Tecmo Bowl graphics, then players will not take the game so seriously and then the complaints will stop. Players will have that constant reminder that they are playing a video game and that all the non-simulation aspects are supposed to be that way.
I'm a game programmer and these are hard problems to solve. The IK issues of limbs going through bodies are tough. The logical problems are easier to make work well in a game. The players acting dumb is something that should be better. However, I bet if you were to look at what's happening here under the hood the players are doing a whole lot of logical decisions the best that a bunch of smart dudes can come up with.

The only effective way to demand a better product is to not buy the game. Buying the game and complaining tells EA that you hate the game, but are still willing to buy it, so no improvements are necessary. Consumers have to communicate financially that EA can't toe the line of how low quality a game can get where people still buy it.
This is why I didn't buy a single copy of Madden since 08 when it left PC until it returned for M19. Being able to mod the game makes for a much more realistic simulation experience. Not perfect and still glitchy sometimes but much better than you'll ever get playing the console versions.
The fact that its 2019 and they still have players body parts going through each other like their invisible bothers me so much. Why can't they fix this already. Damn
QBs tucking the ball during their throwing motion is ridiculous this year, regardless of if they're also using their throwing hand to shove defenders off of them. I miss the strip sack, throw out of sack, and lame duck animations that were in pre-patch Madden 17.
It is the exact same problem that 2k basketball has EVERYTHING is based on animations. Except the intention shots that miss just because. Regardless of quality of shot
I used to think 2k should have a chance, but considering they’re basically doing gambling lite on their basketball franchise I think we’re all screwed when it comes to these greedy companies.
Until real competition to madden comes to compete, EA knows people will buy the same game with little improvement. This is why monopolies or things with little competition can do whatever. They know it's buy our products or go without it because you're not finding it anywhere else.
I have seen 2 weird bugs with touchdowns. 1 is where I score a touchdown, the announcers and players acknowledge it. But no points go on the board. Then when the game resumes, it is 1st and goal on the 1 yard line. The other one is I score a touch down, same thing happens and again no points go on the board, my team lines up for the extra point, and when I kick it I get 3 points, as if I was going for a field goal. Stupid. This game should be free.

I wonder how much of an opportunity is out there for a company to come along and usurp EA's monopoly over NFL video games? A big obstacle would be the rights issues for official uniforms/logos etc but even if they concentrated on good, bug free gameplay and an in depth franchise mode similar to Madden 08 it would surely be popular with consumers.

I appreciate you continuing to make videos about Madden and EA like this. This game is dictated way to much by animations than it is by user control. Too many times have I been beat by ridiculous animations or a lack there of. To all of those that bash you on making videos on all of the negatives vice the positives about this game, to heck with them. Because the first step in fixing a problem is acknowledging the problem! So please keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see the next video.

Exactly why i returned Madden week 2. If we have to pay $60 for a game it should not have these type of issues if there able to be fixed with actually putting forth an effort.
I actually think the riding the player like a pony animation was better than post patch bc before at least they respected physics and didn’t just have players clip through each other to avoid that

as long as they keep the license to this and star wars, they will continue to be around...now is the time for a big AAA company to still EA's sports thunder. As well as sports games sell, its amazing you dont see it. i guess not having a NFL license keeps companies away. But it is possible to make good sports games. The Show is amazing for instance.

EA should really just give the graphics an overhaul. If they just go back to NES Tecmo Bowl graphics, then players will not take the game so seriously and then the complaints will stop. Players will have that constant reminder that they are playing a video game and that all the non-simulation aspects are supposed to be that way.
I'm a game programmer and these are hard problems to solve. The IK issues of limbs going through bodies are tough. The logical problems are easier to make work well in a game. The players acting dumb is something that should be better. However, I bet if you were to look at what's happening here under the hood the players are doing a whole lot of logical decisions the best that a bunch of smart dudes can come up with.

The only effective way to demand a better product is to not buy the game. Buying the game and complaining tells EA that you hate the game, but are still willing to buy it, so no improvements are necessary. Consumers have to communicate financially that EA can't toe the line of how low quality a game can get where people still buy it.

This is why I didn't buy a single copy of Madden since 08 when it left PC until it returned for M19. Being able to mod the game makes for a much more realistic simulation experience. Not perfect and still glitchy sometimes but much better than you'll ever get playing the console versions.

QBs tucking the ball during their throwing motion is ridiculous this year, regardless of if they're also using their throwing hand to shove defenders off of them. I miss the strip sack, throw out of sack, and lame duck animations that were in pre-patch Madden 17.

Madden 15 had the best physics of any Madden in my opinion. It didn’t rely on the only 3 animations the game has

Until real competition to madden comes to compete, EA knows people will buy the same game with little improvement. This is why monopolies or things with little competition can do whatever. They know it's buy our products or go without it because you're not finding it anywhere else.
I have seen 2 weird bugs with touchdowns. 1 is where I score a touchdown, the announcers and players acknowledge it. But no points go on the board. Then when the game resumes, it is 1st and goal on the 1 yard line. The other one is I score a touch down, same thing happens and again no points go on the board, my team lines up for the extra point, and when I kick it I get 3 points, as if I was going for a field goal. Stupid. This game should be free.

I wonder how much of an opportunity is out there for a company to come along and usurp EA's monopoly over NFL video games?
A big obstacle would be the rights issues for official uniforms/logos etc but even if they concentrated on good, bug free gameplay and an in depth franchise mode similar to Madden 08 it would surely be popular with consumers.
