Ridden for 40 years and had many bikes, ZX14R....by far the best bike I have owned or ridden. I still own a 2014 and have no intentions of riding anything else.
I had a 2002 busa for 17 years and it is an incredible bike. I also love the 14, a toss up for me, would be happy with either one. Odd as it sounds I replaced the busa with a 2019 honda cb500x because 95% + of my riding time is urban commuting and the busa was honestly a chore to ride in the city due to the combination of massive hp, weight. long wheel base and tall gearing. The 500x is sooo good and comfy and easy as a commuter I love it!...and I still have a bandit 1250 when I need a torque fix ;)
I have owned 4 ZX 14's 2006, 2012, 2018 combined they had 82k on them and now the 2020. The upgrades in motor, cooling and suspension with the 2012 and after have been really been sweet. Obviously in love with the power.
@@emadahmed7145 well the h2 is supercharged which has a lot more power on tab then the zzz 1400 but the comfort, torque and top speed is something that the 1400 still rules in in my opinion
Zx14r is so much more refined bike! I own 2015 and before that 2010 and when I was in the process of buying my first zx14 i test rode new Hayabusa as well!!! Kawasaki is better on every level, from seat position to power, and the most important to me was how better and well balanced zx felt comparing to Hayabusa!!!
@@maza7334 I wish Kawasaki would do a refresh on the 14R. I've owned two of them and would buy another one the way it is but just an update like they did after the 1st gen would be great. And I still prefer the 14R to even the Ninja H2.
@@Topnikko even now this engine produces more hp and torque than hayabusa but super charged 1441 would shot down Suzuki and everyone else forever!!! Kawasaki already has it, their super charged jet skis have the same, little oversized super charged engines!
In 2012, I went to a dealer to buy a Busa. I told the guy I wanted the fastest bike. He told me to buy a zx14. I could not afford a 2012 zx14 so I bought a new 2011 zx14 with 2 miles on it. I still have this bike with 14k miles on it now. I have a few videos of it on my channel. I've hit 170 mph on it and I've never been pulled over.
Had my ZX14R for a couple of years and absolutely loved it. So easy to ride and very manoeuvrable considering it's size. I sold it earlier this year and got an H2 which I find is more aggressive in its power delivery. I miss the Big Zed, but I just had to get an H2 - you know how it is! I couldn't justify keeping both. As for the Hayabusa, I have never ridden one but it deserves respect. Never liked the looks of of it, but would like to have a blast on one.
My two current rides are 2012 Gen 2 Busa and 2013 Gen 2 ZX14R . I have modded both bikes to handle better for my enjoyment , and both are now effective carvers . Most know the latest 1000 's are basically the true sportbike racer choice , but because of my painful and plentiful old riding injuries , I chose the more roomy , comfortable and heavier choice bikes , for my two big cc mod platforms . Both machines are sporting BST wheels , full Ti exhausts and dialed in Ohlins forks and rear shock , and are the most fun I can have with me clothes on !! Stay sharp and safe mates !!
@@Kwackajack Both bikes are great machines , I love my Busa most because I have owned her longest and she has received the most attention , now well under 220kg fueled and runs short geared , ECU released to ride . A very reliable predictable , enjoyable , gutsy ride . The ZX14R , I have owned for just a year . I really like it and now have it handling very nicely . It sure is a monster and so much fun to ride with shorter gearing and ECU release , but tighter spaced design so more difficult to work on . The bike is savage on full throttle , it has serious urge in the low gears . I have shed a shit load of kg off it now , and has been thoroughly gone over , (been tracing some gremlins) , it will be back on the road shortly . The ZX14R carries its weight low , so you get on it and it responds with very good agility , the Busa feels heavier at the controls , and more planted solid feel , both are rock steady at all speeds , the Busa just feels like a an old school bike , which it is , the ZX14R feels more modern .
Nah! Honestly only place I liked the bike is over a 100mph on a endless interstate then yes it is amazing you can literally Cruze 120mph all day no problem! But they suck around town I like my liter bike far better it’s lighter and quicker yes I said quicker! I can usually get off the line and hold them off till around a 100-120mph then they go around me like I’m tied to a stump! And mine is built pretty good got all the go fast bits on it and new pirreli tires!
Hayabusa is my pick. Having owned the ZX14R and the Hayabusa. Just pick up another new Hayabusa recently. my ZX14R have a spun bearing after 28k miles. Now seating at home with the motor removed and taking apart. Waiting to have the crankshaft work done. Still waiting. No desire to fix it as I am enjoying the Hayabusa way too much. 😀
What would you prefer of the two bikes that zx1400 or the ZX10 I want the 14 but the 10 has cruise control and a speed shifter I want to trade my Hayabusa in for one of these bikes.
@@richardcerritelli9657the zx10 is a race bike. More nimble, lighter and more aggressive power output. The zx14 is more of a big cruise bike, more comfy with a lot of power. Just depends on what kind of riding you plan to do
@@Trey_Johnson11100 Percent - I also own both ZX14R + ZX10R. The 10 belongs on the race track, the 14 runs the streets (and highways). 14= Bentley 10= Porsche 911
I don't mind the look of the Hayabusa tbh, it grows on you. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, which bikes would you like to see compared next?
That’s actually the next Versus I’ve got on my list!! I’ve done the kings and next will be the babies 😂 Am also looking to rent a Grom and do a review 😅
I just love the Hayabusa and it's cult like following. The look of the Hayabusa is unmistakable. I give Suzuki a thumbs up for leaving the styling alone after all these years. I've wanted one since the early 2000s and was just finally able to get the guts to purchase one. What an incredible machine!!! Sure, there are quicker bikes available now days but this thing has way more than I'll ever need or be able to use as it was in stock form. Even so, I couldn't resist the temptation to make it faster and change a few things that I thought could be improved from original. I've added a Brock's Performance exhaust system and some other performance mods that I'm pretty sure will make it roost any stock ZX 14 on the street. The exhaust system is absolutely beautiful and also much lighter than the original. Other than the aftermarket chain and sprockets which are much lighter and stronger along with the exhaust, you would think it's completely factory original by walking up and looking at it. While it's winter and way too cold to ride anyway, I've decided to take it completely apart and give it some body mods and a new custom paint job. The paint was nice as original but I just want it to be personalized just for me. The cost of the paint job would be way out of my budget but thankfully I have a paint and body shop at my home equipped with everything I need to make it a showpiece. I recently retired from a forty + year career in painting cars and motorcycles, alot of it being in the crazy custom sector of the industry, so finally will have some time to take care of a few of my long awaited visions of way back. I really enjoy getting online and watching your videos and others like them for both enjoyment and motivation. Thank you for this great video between the Hayabusa and the ZX14, I really appreciate all that you do!!! Keep up the good work ok and I'll keep watching!
Really appreciate you taking the time to reply to the video. Love hearing stories like this from people and I'm fortunate enough to have a lot of passionate moto-lovers joining the channel! Have you ridden on much other than the Busa? I'm looking to do a custom paint job on my next (and most likely long term) bike. Once I upgrade to the full license here in Aus I'll be upgrading from my Ninja 400 and would really like to make the next one a 'one of a kind'. Thanks again for supporting the channel 🙏🏻
Hello Kwackajack, Thank you for your reply to my comment. The Hayabusa is actually my 4th bike taking a spot in my garage. Along with the Busa is a tricked out Harley Davidson V-rod 2006, a fully restored 1990 Yamaha Venture, and a just recently finished last winter, a completely restored 1989 Honda Goldwing. As you can see, I really enjoy taking an old bike, completely disassemble, suspension upgrades, engine and exhaust upgrades, brakes and electrical, follow all of this with a complete high quality Glasurit 3 stage urethane paint job. The V-rod has the most exotic paint job out of all of them, it is a wildly customized bike! Whenever it is parked at a restaurant or even just refueling, always draws a crowd. The Yamaha has a very unique custom paint job, from a distance it looks like a candy red paint job with the traditional two-tone panels. It's funny, when people get close to this bike they always have to touch it. Reason being, the two-toned panels are actually air brushed to look like real wood, and it really does look real. Inside the panels, over the top of the airbrushed wood
Sorry, didn't finish explaining the paint job. I'm old and not very computer wize so I wish I knew how to just send photos along with the comment but I don't so I'll continue where I left off. On the Venture paint scheme, over the top of the airbrushed wood is a double layer of ghost flames done in rustic looking colors with a dropped shadow airbrushed to make them appear to be standing a 1/4" above the wood. Then to finish off the two-toned panels there are tiny gold and orange pinstripes that separate the two colors, which also make the panels appear more dimensional. All of this is followed with multiple coats of clear, wet sanded between to produce glass like finish when completed. The before mentioned Goldwing I was lucky enough to find from the original owner. Only having just over 30k miles and excellent care and maintenance it's entire life, It was the closest thing to factory perfect original that you have ever seen, incredible score! At first, I wanted to change the color and make it more my style but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. So after completely dismantling it, I matched the color and painted only a few parts that had flaws that were too much to just polish out with the buffing machine. It's a perfect old guy bike, it has lots of chrome, original paint color and just all around mint condition, looks like it was taken out of a time capsule. It is my most favorite bike for all around riding. Every time I take it for a long ride and really get to use it for what it was made for, I wonder how something so old can perform so amazing. I've ridden my friend's 2016 model for a long ride and you know what, it really isn't that much different. Crazy huh? The V-rod paint that I was talking about earlier is way too complicated to explain without you actually seeing. It has panels of wavy airbrushed, black n white checkerboard outlined with broken granite, in some areas, the broken and missing chunks of granite reveal the checkerboard below which is shaded with the airbrush to appear to be very deep below. This is all going on over the top portion of all of the body parts and then below that on both sides is a double layer of multi colored pearl flames. Like I said, there is so much more but just too hard to explain. If I had to pay for these paint jobs on my bikes I could never afford to have such elaborate paint work so I am very thankful that God gave me that gift. Since I was a young kid, I would never leave my toys and then bicycles, then dirt bikes, I always had to change them so they were something no one else could copy. In 1975 I bought my first legal street bike, a brand new Yamaha RD 350. That little bike was a rocket for it's size back in those days and got me in alot of trouble because of it. It was beautiful to my eyes but I just couldn't leave it alone either. Within 6 months of buying it, I changed the color from the factory orange to a bright blue metallic with yes, you guessed it, more flames. I've always just loved a great flame job! While I was painting it, a friend took the engine and did a bunch of porting work, changed the Reed valves, and we ordered those cool low slung twin black expansion chambers, (exhaust system). That thing was so fast after that, I could beat pretty much anyone unless they were riding the Kawasaki 750 triple. Believe me, it would hang with and actually beat most of the Kawasaki 500s that ever tangled with it back then. Another friend went to Hinshaws Honda, bought a brand new 1976 Honda 750 4 cylinder. After he was all broken in and comfortable with the bike, he thought he was going show me how fast his pig of a bike was. That was a blast! That little Yamaha ran off and left that 750 so far in the dust, incredible lesson he learned that day! So funny! Someday I would really like to find one that hasn't been molested too bad, (probably impossible) and restore it to the exact clone of the one I had way back then. Maybe next project. Sorry, kind of got off track with my thoughts. In highschool I was fortunate enough to land a job in an auto body paint shop so for the rest of my career I could keep improving my craft. Now that I am retired I can finally build my long awaited Hayabusa project. Since the last time we talked, I have completely dismantled it and getting all the body parts ready for paint. Like I told you before, I have always been in love with the Hayabusa and knew what I want it to look like long before I ever purchased one. The main body color will be the super bright orange tangerine pearl with a few coats of tangerine candy to give it a deep vivid glow. I know what I think I want for the graphics colors but don't want to say until I do my spray out samples and make a decision. I really like the custom chrome wheels that are available but want to make sure that they won't affect the high speed stability and handling. I would love to get your input on this. If the wheels aren't as good as the stock wheels I can always paint the stock to look even better than chrome so having a hard time deciding. The extended swingarm fat tire kit is a really cool look but would completely trash the handling characteristics, (and the $7,000 price tag) so that idea is a no go. I've bought a ton of parts that I think will really help make it what I'm hoping for but also open to any suggestions. Anyway, this will keep me busy for a little while and I will keep you updated on the project. I'm really glad I found your channel, not much into forums or anything like that but having a pal in Australia who I can share with and bounce ideas sounds pretty cool so, I'll definitely stay in touch ok. If you ever decide to make the trip to Eatonville Washington USA, I will have a bike for you to ride while you're visiting. We have some beautiful places to ride starting just two minutes from my door ranging from sport bike, to touring, or even just all around cruising and checking out the scenery. Great chatting with ya! Happy holidays. I think it's actually your summer time so stay safe and keep the right side up when you're riding the bikes
Unfortunately for the busa a pipe and a flash brings it to around 185 hp still less than a stock 14r. A 14 with the same mods takes it to around 205hp 20 more than the busa
I had a 2006 ZX14 for 11 years it was a great bike. But now I have 2013 ZX14R picked it up used with low miles, after doing all the mods it is by far the best bike I've owned. It is vicious fast
Hayabusa for me, I own one and I think it looks different and better, although less equipped I think is the better/ cooler bike and I love the busa dashboard as well, it's like you are in a personal air ship.
Own both. a 2002 40th anniversary "pumpkin" Busa and a 2006 ZX14 lightning Blue. Now these are older mechanicals but the ZX14 is smoother and more comfortable at speed to ride farther. The Busa is a raw machine. Balance and heavier weight (IMHO) affect handling. Busa launches hard. ZX launches less so but speed builds faster. When I ride, I usually choose the ZX.
@@Zorro_ im not hating on the 14 by any means. ive never rode a zx. but my circumstances of owning a busa were limited. would have gone with a 14 but i was limited. i love my busa endlesly but, would be glad to own both aswell
Had 2 14’s and just went back to busa, I just couldn’t stand the difficulty of working on the 14 due to the frame design. Even accessing the battery sucks, the plugs are a 2 hour job, the side plastic tabs snap off very easy. Busa may lack power, but just a very well designed bike for ease to work on and quality just feels better.
Uh.. yeah, there’s not that much performance difference between the two besides the busa feeling more solid of a bike, and obvious small hp difference. I put on a set of pair block offs in 10 min :) and I also now have room under my rear seat for a lunch and a change of cloths. Life is good again.
I can also take my side fairings off in minutes and no small broken tabs to worry about up at the nose fairing. I loved my 14’s but just not as much as the busa.
I owned 2010 and 2015! I still think 14 is a better bike but working on that thing is tricky! If you need to access your battery and you never did it before most likely you'll end up with broken tab or something!!!
@@maza7334 yeah the battery was the easier job, it was taking the side fairings off to put on the new exhaust was the bitch. Those top tabs are just a joke and cheap. No matter how careful I was id here a “ting” and half of one would snap off, Irritating. Now the busa just slides on and off for me. But def still love the 14 and the power. Also more comfortable than the busa I think.
Picked up my ZX14r for $3000 from Melbourne. Absolute bargain. Put it against a mates busa on Dyno and road, zx made 10hp to the wheel more and showed that on the pavement. And I agree, they handle so good considering the weight and size. It's very comparable to my 600 in the ways of cornering and I'm an aggressive rider too. I don't think I could ever own anything other now that I have had this. 😊😍
Zx14 definitely. Sure it weighs a tiny bit more but it makes wayyyy more torque down low due to the cubes. MUCH more comfortable too. I rode 3 hours one way once, got off for an hour to look at a car in Killeen texas, then drove 3hr back to Dallas. I was hardly sore! I was lovely
it only makes 4ft-lbs more Torque at any point in the range..gotta remember the 2008+ hayabusa are only 10cc less up till 2012, and the 2013+ zx14s are only 100cc more
Had both, current one being zzr. The ZZR is the better one of the two, better handling far better brakes( it stops!!) busa brakes were very wooden and no ABS. They are the same weight and about the same length. Busa is a marmite bike. It’s styling isn’t for everyone but I loved it. I did 26,000 miles on mine and it never missed a beat. The ZZR is 5yrs old and has now cover 31,000 from new with me and not missed a beat either. Both had the SW Motech panniers and were never comprised by them hanging off either side of them. Both toured bloody well and it was a real wrench handing over the keys to the dealer when I purchased my ZZR! After a the Z was run in it was clearly the better bike and I fell in love with it. I’m waiting to see what the new one has to offer and may keep the Z and buy a new busa! Best of both worlds!
Bought a leftover 19 zx14 for 12 grand out the door. I was always on 1000s so this was a big change. I love this zx14 and won't be going back to the 1000s. Way more comfortable and easy to ride longer.
I own a 2012 ZX14R and your right, they corner much better than most people think. I like them both, to be honest and I would own both if I could. 1/4 mile times are very very close and it would rider that would determine the victory. The ZX does feel stronger when you ride it compared to the Busa, I think it has a stronger midrange. Interesting fact ZX14R is the only production motorcycle to ever have hand polished intake ports!
My wife has a 2018 hayabusa and I have a 2018 ZX-14R. I can tell you I love my ninja way more. More comfortable, easier to control. Just overall a better bike compared to the busa.
I’ve the Hayabusa and hated the look of it but have learnt it’s not all about looks! One of the best bikes I’ve ridden for its size handles very well power constant right through
In 2006, I was looking to buy a bike. I sat on the Busa, but oh no... not for my 6'2" frame. GSX1000 was ok. So was Duc 1198, Yam R1, BMW RR, but the ZX10, another "oh no way". I sat on the ZX14, not knowing anything about the bike. Oh yes!! Soft seat, leg room and no constant leaning reaching for the bars. I knew nothing about the bike, did some research and was hesitant on buying this speedy machine. But I bought it anyway. LOVED IT!! Living in NY, I put 45k on it in 3 years. I moved to Poland and sold it because the roads here at the time were not made for a bike like this. I never lost an "impromptu" race on the highways in NY. Oh, and notice the shape of the rear tail lights. Shaped in a "V" for Victory.
I tried it last year and I was globally impressed! I rode it cause it was one of the few available during that test ride so I tried it without any expectation or bias and I really was positively surprised. It is a very complete motorcycle! I am currently trying to convince my girlfriend that it is comfortable for travelling also as a pillion, would you say that I am lying? It looks so... only one doubt, the passenger grip (the one right behind the passenger saddle) look really small and uncomfortable not providing good grip nor stability...
@@carlodubois4102 the only bike I regret selling. I’ve owned between 20-25 bikes from sport to cruiser and by far the zx14r in my opinion was the best all around. My wife loved riding with me on it. She claimed it was comfortable but was scared of the power when passing cars. The only place the busa wins in my book is in the top rpms it feels like it never quits where the 14r loves red light to red light but starts losing its grunt at about 130mph.
I previously had in order : ZZR 1200, Suzuki hayabusa gen 2, Honda VFR 1200, BMW K1300S, ZZR 1400 gen1 , GTR 1400 gen 2. I own currently 2015 ZZR 1400 and it is the best of them. I also liked a lot my old ZZR 1200. I even have a short acceleration movie on my old zzr1200 here on YT. Stay safe and ride safe people.
We share some of same motorcycles. Now own 2017 ZX14R, 2010 VFR1200F, 2017 Aprilia Tuono Factory. I had 2008 K1200S last year, really liked the engine but not the handling. The VFR not up to comfort/ergo level of Ninja, and I don't need driveshaft. The Aprilia is just plain a blast to ride!
Glad you enjoy it! The support has been phenomenal and I'm trying to keep upping the production quality to bring you guys the best videos I can. Looking to invest in a new camera and bring some even better videos 🙌🏻 Appreciate you following along and sharing feedback 🙏🏻
I’m sure the Hayabusa is a blast to ride. The ZX14R is far better looking to me though. Mine is a green and black 2015. Kawasaki has also created a brand/image that appeals to me. Jonathan Rea has much to do with that. Evident in that I also own a ZX10RR and an H2 with full Brock’s Stage II @284 HP. I feel kinship with all riders, especially sport bike riders but just feel especially proud of Kawasaki’s achievements, designs, game-changing new products and best looks at every price point... at least to my eyeballs.
busa is easier to build imo bc you can separate the cylinders from the lower cases where the kawi is all cast as a single unit. have fun trying to replace the cylinders or increase its displacement. with the busa you can replace just the cylinders and leave the lower half alone making it easier to swap out top ends. busa is also easier to work on with engine in chassis bc the frame wraps around the engine where on the kawi it goes over it. both are great bikes and the kawi is faster out of the box but if you are planning to build a king, busa all the way.
Hayabusa all way 👍. You tell someone you're riding a ZX14R and they won't have a clue what bike that is. You tell someone you ride a Hayabusa or just say "a Busa" and they'll know exactly what you're talking about. The Busa has massive street cred and a styling that's timeless. The ZX14 is a faster bike but it's got no where near the street cred or following like the Busa. And now with the '22 Busa out with it's unreal amount of tech, it's easily one the best bikes on sale today anywhere.
I've been riding motorcycles for 70 years, and still own a 2000, non-speed limited, Suzuki Hayabusa I purchased new. It's the best bike I've ever owned. I have a collection of 7 motorcycles at the moment and ride 5 of them regularly.
I rode a Brock's tuned 205 rwhp 12 ZX14 and hit 180 MPH without even thinking about it. It's an amazing riding and performing machine without a doubt, but I opted to buy an 03 Busa because it is just downright gorgeous... :)
I used to own a ZX14 (not R) the way it smacked the speedometer needle into the last indicator,(300km.) I could have sworn without the speed limit it would willingly hit 360 km. just mind blowing the way the speedo needle moves up fast.
1st off I have owned two Zx14's. The Suzuki has its following because the motor allows for virtually unlimited modifications which..IS a good thing for drag racing. On the road, Kawasaki has vastly better brakes stock (feel, stopping power). Suzuki also has a very little throttle return spring so you need a good throttle hand since no traction control if your ham fisted. I have friends with Busa's but after riding the bike the lack of serious brakes for the speed potential and the awkward (for me riding position) were non-starters. Now on to my beloved ZX14R. Two things immediately jump out versus the Busa, tremendously smooth power that is deceptive (feels slower than it is actually going at less than WOT) and the fantastic handling (when setup properly) the key is to dial the suspension in to your actual weight and then its transformed for something near 600 lbs (stock) wet weight. Most importantly, TOSS THE FACTORY PIPES. A good aftermarket pipe is 20+ lb weight loss (and when you tune your suspension for that weight..loss its tremendous difference) Lastly, both bikes really require the very best road tires to use anything near their ability..safely. Each owner has a preference there. For me (I am in US) the bike is BEST enjoyed on extremely remote, rural roads with a mix of fast sweepers and appropriately long (4th gear @ 11k at least) straights. Here that's the western half of the country. California, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada top my list with California being "mythically" wonderful for its endless supply of canyons, desert and just plain "GOD made this for motorcycles" roads. I road my ZX14R (2012) cross country twice and THAT was the most epic motorcycle "experience" possible to imagine. Here on the east coast North Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and...Virginia have great roads relatively close to home in Florida. You can't REALLY use either one fully on public roads..safely (especially on the east coast) Out west you can. Living in Florida I a few hidden bits of good roads, but nothing like the mountains out west. In closing, Properly set up, NOTHING beats the effortless power and reliability of the ZX14R. 50k road miles on mine in all types of weather (except snow) and temps from 15F to 110F . Btw, you..REALLY don't want your gas cap to freeze shut on one. Riding in the mountains in 20F weather to pass thru..before a snowstorm will do that (Anybody been to William's, Arizona?) 👍
I owned a hayabus, an excellent engine with an enviable level of quality, a big drawback were the brakes on phase II, which in 2013 received the abs system, also the only reason for the sale, ....
@@Kwackajack now I ride a road motorcycle because my wife often rides it, so it suits us better, after the hayabuse and the lack of brakes and not having an abs system, the bmw k1600gt is a real revival, of course it's not as fast as it is but it doesn't matter to me anymore.
The ZX14-R is a beaut and a tempting option, but...... I own a 1st gen Hayabusa, it's a bit out dated, but will never trade it for any other. Looking forward to the 3rd Gen Hayabusa. Busa all the way.
I looked at buying both of these bikes and got to sit on them side by side etc. there really is no comparison. The Kawasaki felt much lighter but also felt less solid and poorly made. The Zx14R was actually $1,000. cheaper (both 2019 new). I bought the Hayabusa and am very happy.
You are correct on quality. Plus you wont have to maintenance it as much. The zx14 has a poor frame design. It takes 2 hrs to change out the plugs. The battery is a pain to replace. The plastic tabs get worn down and loose going down the road. Overheats but can be remedied with an extra fan. I had 3 zx14s and 2 Busas. I put helibars and the Buell peg mod on and it was just as comfy as the zx14. The Busa's manners are better for slow town riding and in parking lots. Both are great bikes to ride but i would only own the Busa out of the 2 for now on. I have a 09' StreetGlide and 15' Busa. Best of both worlds. Im hoping for the 2021 Busa if it ever comes out. Take care 👊
I have owned both. The early business was way more crazy and fun. You could not keep the front wheel on the ground. The zx1400 more comfortable by far and easier to deal with in to town and around cops. I own a rsv4 now. Super crazy. Uncomfortable is a understatement. And a nightmare around cops in town.
What is the difference in insurance rates? Also I have the 2015 zx-6r. Getting to the battery is a pain. How difficult is removal of fairings on the zx-14 compared to the Busa?
I had the same 2015 ZX6R. Sold it wish I could have kept it) and got a 2019 ZX14R, the best bike I’ve ever had. The power of the 14 is surreal! So much more comfortable than the 6r for street riding. Insurance through State Farm is not much more with the 14R. 324/year full coverage. I’m 51yo. Fairings: the 14R is more difficult than the Busa’s to remove. I know guys that are fortunate enough to have both. Gotta be patient: the 14R has so much engine, the designers used every last inch with fairings clearances. It’s all worth it for this crazy beautiful bike!
I have Suzuki Bandit 1200r still and now I ride kz14 , done 3 long distance trips , wow wee Batman what a ride , I am senior hahaha got my licence when I was 15 and rode to at the start of grade 11
i had zx1400. when they first came out was black color nice-looking. bike only one problem I had with the bike when corning kinda hard it had a swing arm flex was quite bad. then sold it. after that never owned Kawasaki again.
Ive had a zx14 then the zx14r for total of 15 years . Ive also always liked the Busa. I found the zx14 back in 2006 when i bought the first model, in red, brand new that I chose the Kawasaki over a Buss as I found the zx14 to be less to be less edgy. Despite that I prefer the Busas rear treatment. The zx14r is an all round bike. It even handles well on dirt roads. I believe its going up in value already so I will keep mine for sometime, though at 67 I feel that by 75 it be time to trade for something tamer....msybe a 1200 Thruxton. The Kawasaki are is deceotively hyper fast and after jumping off my truck like Roadliner ....which I got for retirement..theres a big adjustment to be made. They handle crap West Aussie back roads and I wish we had an autobahn.
Definitely the Busa - looks, looks, looks, and other stuff. I rode a ZX14 as a test ride and it was good but, don't know what it was, it just didn't have the character of the Busa.
Ahhh don't make me pick lol. Own a gen II busa but always go back and forth. I agree the balance is amazing on the zx14, feels like your riding a 600cc. Might have to add a zx14 to the garage and have the best of both lol. Both great bikes in their own legacies !
Started with 2007 ZX-14 then the upgraded to 2012 ZX-14 at 48k I traded it for a 2017 ZX-14 now I have a 2020 ZX-14. Loved them all but the best are 2012 and newer!
Both great bikes. I would choose any of them. A bit like Sophie's choice. And they are Japanese which puts them in a different league to any other bike.As for looks, well yes , but function over form rules a bit here. These 2 bikes are mile crushers with one major flaw. No centre stand. If one does long distance touring which is one of their forte's, lubing the drive chains is essential. Without a centrestand it is a pain in the butt. With a centrestand it is a breeze.
Had mine for over 2 years, still makes me giggle when opening it up on a windy road 😅. The torque is just amazing.... And knowing I can break every Australian speed limit(140km in NT) in 1st gear is just hilarious 😂
Had a ZZR1400 for a year or so. Awesome bike that was much better than my riding ability.Sold it before I lost my license or life. I ride nakids now to feel the speed and keep my speed down.
It's a common thing to compare two things which are more similar than they are different. They both seem amazing and dangerous. I would love to have one, but probably need more time on my first bike in about 25 years-KTM 790 Duke which only is capable of 100 hp or there abouts.
Completely unbiased opinion but I am partial to a Kawasaki. Lol It just looks more practical. I own a 2020 VMax and I’m quite happy sitting in the upright riding position, no more leaning over for me. But it is fun to look around, even at 60.🏍
99 busa's are the ones to go for if ya wanna drag some serious ponies out....but i'll stick with my zzr.hideous all day ability.and for power...i'd take a stage 2 turbo kit..not that it's really needed on either motor, both are beasts, but its a case of taste and brand loyalty.
I'm a ZX14 owner myself a well define bike that should stay in production it has its market. The H2 my be the fastest bike now in the Kawasaki line but not a option for me at 6"3 300 pounds long live the ZX14
Ridden for 40 years and had many bikes, ZX14R....by far the best bike I have owned or ridden. I still own a 2014 and have no intentions of riding anything else.
Been riding now for 57 years. I have owned numerous bikes over the years. I love my ZX-14R! It's a KEEPER!!!

Had both staying with Kawasaki on this one...the zzr is in a league of its own..
Why? And in terms of power and speed, how does it compare to the Ninja H2?
@@emadahmed7145 well the h2 is supercharged which has a lot more power on tab then the zzz 1400 but the comfort, torque and top speed is something that the 1400 still rules in in my opinion
Zx14r is so much more refined bike! I own 2015 and before that 2010 and when I was in the process of buying my first zx14 i test rode new Hayabusa as well!!! Kawasaki is better on every level, from seat position to power, and the most important to me was how better and well balanced zx felt comparing to Hayabusa!!!

Love it more than any other bike.
Befor I got a Suzuki but nothing over the zzr1400

Sounds like you've got a lot of horses in the stable! Which of the two do you prefer?
It is really nice to see a review between those two bikes. Thanks mate.
ZX14R all day. Great review!
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed

Have you ridden on much other than the Busa? I'm looking to do a custom paint job on my next (and most likely long term) bike. Once I upgrade to the full license here in Aus I'll be upgrading from my Ninja 400 and would really like to make the next one a 'one of a kind'.

Hello Kwackajack,
Thank you for your reply to my comment.

Both excellent. Just personal preferance matters. For me, the 14
Own both. a 2002 40th anniversary "pumpkin" Busa and a 2006 ZX14 lightning Blue.

You’re in the wrong place bud
Boosa all the way, every day !! ;)
Hayabusa is my choice between the two thou I'm a Beemer fan.
It doesn't matter how much the zx compares, visually that busa CAN NOT be beat!!!
For ugliness.
I was lovely
it only makes 4ft-lbs more Torque at any point in the range..gotta remember the 2008+ hayabusa are only 10cc less up till 2012, and the 2013+ zx14s are only 100cc more
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 oh I know. It's a (slightly) higher power but flatter torque curve throughout.

Love my 14 probably one of the best bikes I have ever owned

@@carlodubois4102 this bike would not be
Comfortable for a passenger during long rides. The Concourse would be better for that.
Damn, you're a lucky man! Any plans on getting any more?
We share some of same motorcycles. Now own 2017 ZX14R, 2010 VFR1200F, 2017 Aprilia Tuono Factory. I had 2008 K1200S last year, really liked the engine but not the handling. The VFR not up to comfort/ergo level of Ninja, and I don't need driveshaft. The Aprilia is just plain a blast to ride!
25 'th years of hayabusa bike celebrating🎉🎊🍾, one of the best bike forever, Suzuki ultimate 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
great vid and this channel is growing so fast I love it. keep up the good work!!!
Glad you enjoy it! The support has been phenomenal and I'm trying to keep upping the production quality to bring you guys the best videos I can. Looking to invest in a new camera and bring some even better videos 🙌🏻
Appreciate you following along and sharing feedback 🙏🏻
Got a Zzr 1400 a few weeks ago. Absolutely delighted with it..
Road a Busa then bought the ZX14R but respect to each
I’m sure the Hayabusa is a blast to ride.
We don't work on Kawi's they don't break 😆
They do when they race busa,s
I have a collection of 7 motorcycles at the moment and ride 5 of them regularly.
both are good, but i own & ride a b-king
previous bike was a... guess what... busa.!
I rode a Brock's tuned 205 rwhp 12 ZX14 and hit 180 MPH without even thinking about it. It's an amazing riding and performing machine without a doubt, but I opted to buy an 03 Busa because it is just downright gorgeous... :)
Ride both, love both, but 14 is far better all-round.
At this point it depends on what cha ate that day 😆! But I can still rip the paint off a 14 hands down. Busa all day everyday.
They didn’t hold up to the rest of the bike?
What are you on now?
@@Kwackajack now I ride a road motorcycle because my wife often rides it, so it suits us better, after the hayabuse and the lack of brakes and not having an abs system, the bmw k1600gt is a real revival, of course it's not as fast as it is but it doesn't matter to me anymore.
I imagine that bike would be a lot more comfortable to ride too right?
ZZR1400 no doubt, I have on, it’s so nice, love it 😍
Good to hear!
The ZX14-R is a beaut and a tempting option, but...... I own a 1st gen Hayabusa, it's a bit out dated, but will never trade it for any other. Looking forward to the 3rd Gen Hayabusa. Busa all the way.
Had a gen one busa currently on a gen one 14. The 14 seems like it pulls so much harder. Prefer the busa in the corners though
Zx14r Destroys it in EVERYWAY.

@@mikeanthony7940 Thank you for the reply. Thinking of keeping my zx6r, no need to sell it if I can't get much for it.
I have Suzuki Bandit 1200r still and now I ride kz14 , done 3 long distance trips , wow wee Batman what a ride , I am senior hahaha got my licence when I was 15 and rode to at the start of grade 11
Man I watched this when it had 25 views 😂😂 great job kwackajack
i had zx1400. when they first came out was black color nice-looking. bike only one problem I had with the bike when corning kinda hard it had a swing arm flex was quite bad. then sold it. after that never owned Kawasaki again.
Good comparison but out of date already with the new 2021 Kwaka.
GTR all day everyday ! Power of Godzilla challenger come they may !
JKJK I love Busa !
Get your freaking GTR out of this comment section... On the wrong video
Definitely the Busa - looks, looks, looks, and other stuff. I rode a ZX14 as a test ride and it was good but, don't know what it was, it just didn't have the character of the Busa.
Not to mention, new ZX14R models come with stainless braided brake lines as standard
They are both very good bikes but the zx14 for me is the better one
Ahhh don't make me pick lol. Own a gen II busa but always go back and forth. I agree the balance is amazing on the zx14, feels like your riding a 600cc. Might have to add a zx14 to the garage and have the best of both lol. Both great bikes in their own legacies !
Well said!
The 14R didn't arrive until 2012
The previous ZX14 had less power
The first gen was still more powerful than the gen 1 busa by a good bit. The 2gen busa came out in 08 and it was a dead heat.
Not king is zx14r king is Hayabusa 💖👌👑👑👑 king is Hayabusa 🥰
Busa is busa even h2r will struggle in front of a fully opened turbobusa
Started with 2007 ZX-14 then the upgraded to 2012 ZX-14 at 48k I traded it for a 2017 ZX-14 now I have a 2020 ZX-14. Loved them all but the best are 2012 and newer!
Kawasaki 👍. Still got my UNRESTRICTED ZX12R ive owned since new
I have The same zx 12 unrestricted. Red one
@@krzysztof1988 awesome 👍did you see me drag racing mine vidio?

@@Ninjahall-12R cool , maybe me too. Only not sure because in Australia i think they remove your motorcycle license upon turning 70 yrs old
Nice video man. Keep it up.
Greetings from Chile, Southamerica.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed! Much love 🙏🏻
Good to see Aussie video producers
Both great bikes. I would choose any of them. A bit like Sophie's choice. And they are Japanese which puts them in a different league to any other bike.As for looks, well yes , but function over form rules a bit here. These 2 bikes are mile crushers with one major flaw. No centre stand. If one does long distance touring which is one of their forte's, lubing the drive chains is essential. Without a centrestand it is a pain in the butt. With a centrestand it is a breeze.
I have 2018 KawasakiZZR1440, with a centre stand fitted, makes all the difference, best wishes, from England
Stock with an ecu flash,
bolt-on’s Zx14r is 👑
Purpose built for racing only, the Busa is a better platform
Love my Zx14r. Still scary fast after having it a awhile lol
Had mine for over 2 years, still makes me giggle when opening it up on a windy road 😅. The torque is just amazing.... And knowing I can break every Australian speed limit(140km in NT) in 1st gear is just hilarious 😂
ZX-14 (ZZR1400) I'm 6'3" ... The Busa isn't comfortable at all. ZX I can ride all day.
i love both bus Busa or so they are called hybusa would be my fav they go really fast
Still Ill go for kawi, Kawi fan here. by the way I got a new bike Honda ADV 150cc and I really love it, you need to check it out mate
Congrats dude! Would love to check it out, have you taken it for many rides yet?
Love it mate. Good video
Thanks my man 🙏🏻
I respect both. I rode a zzr 1200 as my daily transport for about two years before totaling it :(
Had a ZZR1400 for a year or so.
Respect to the ugly Busa but I have an intimate relationship with my ZZR1400 🔥
I'm a ZX14 owner myself a well define bike that should stay in production it has its market. The H2 my be the fastest bike now in the Kawasaki line but not a option for me at 6"3 300 pounds long live the ZX14
