      Most of the time they won't even bother, when you think you're far enough away just enter the first out you see and from there it's all about knowing where to go.

    I heard the ‘14 had the most insane throttle response. So I bought one. Moved up from a xz6r 636 and a triumph sprint st.
    There is nothing else like this bike. Comfortable. Fast. Incredible looking.

      That was my transition....600 Triumph, Triumph Sprint 955....traded the Sprint in for a brand new in the crate never test rode red 2006 zx14 and loved it and kept it for 12 years and 70000 kms and then bought another

      Maybe older models. I own a 2014 se model and it doesn't get more friendly than that. Even a new rider can manage the throttle on this bike.

      @@arturama8581 My zx14 got full system Yoshi and ecu flash. So it's fully unlocked.
      The throttle response is still very easy and smooth, just don't poke it with the stick.

      @@arturama8581 .....I bought mine new in 06, it was weak as water in the first 3 gears until I removed those pesky flies. I immediately got a pc3 and a Brocks gen3. I put zx10 wheels on it and a few years later put a Brocks alienhead on it and mapped it for e85. It made 195 hp and 113ftlbs .

    I have a 2019 ZX14R and absolutely LOVE IT!! She’s equipped with a Brocks Titanium exhaust system (single right side muffler), a Sprint air cleaner and an ECU flash from Don Guhl. Also put a GPR steering stabilizer on as well…for added safety. She’s a very gentle lady…or…a WITCH if you want to open her up…STUPID FAST/QUICK..HANG ON TO THE BROOMSTICK!!!! However, at 70-75 mph and a mellow wrist, I’ve been getting 39.8 mpg while cruising the highways or country roads!! I’m VERY HAPPY with that kind of mileage from this bike!! I truly believe she’d get 40 plus mpg if the ride was 100% highway with no stop signs and cruising at 75-80 mph. This is a wonderful bike but deserves THE UTMOST RESPECT and I WOULD NOT recommend it to anyone that has little experience on motorcycles!!! She WILL KILL YOU if you DON’T respect her!!! Safe travels and Peace n Smiles!! 🙏😃

      I keep reading where people are only getting 39-41 mpg. I get 44-46 mpg on mine but I’m running low power also. I see no need for high power unless I’m racing. You would leave 90% of cars in low power

      I took mine to the drag strip and talk about poor fuel mileage I happened to look down at my MPG meter and at 137 in 3rd gear I was getting 5.3 mpg. and had three gears left to go.

    I bought my 2020 because I had gotten bored from riding cruisers for more than 30 years. The ZX-14R will make you feel young again...but your age (wisdom) will keep you safe. I also recently purchased a YZ250 2-stroke for a little fun off-road.

      Maybe that's the answer for safely riding a bike like this then? Age? I was 45+ yrs when I bought the zx14. Wisdom comes with years, they say. On the other hand, I've got these 2 riding friends that are older than me. One (64yrs) kisses the tarmac at least once a year. Right now he's recovering from a (bad) runaway Zero (e-bike) accident. The other one is pushing 70 and goes absolutely berzerk on his HP4. So maybe it isn't age after all and some people just have more selfdisciplin? One thing I'm sure of: if I hadn't worn real good (Dainese) body protection when I crashed the ZX, I would have been off much worse. My right side knee, shoulder and elbow caps were all broken in half and I was only doing some 50mph when my flying lesson started. The flight was good btw. The landing was a bit less pleasant.

    Covered 156,000 miles on these bikes i own two,a gen1 with 140,000 and a gen 2 with 16,000 miles - toured USA,Alaska, Mexico and all over Europe - great bikes!!!

      Just a update , I sold the Old Girl
      And he right to much of a bike
      For Old Blokes , Bullshit, I brought
      The Limited Edition with OHLIN'S
      Suspension , it Maped 209HP at back
      This one with the Suspension ( took a couple
      Days to Dial it in for the roads ) had to soften
      It up was hard as a bullet . It one Quick bike
      I was rideing it in the wet , Full power range
      No problems , just short shift and nothing
      Changed if your to Heavy on the throttle
      It light back wheel up , traction control
      Kick in and this one has a better back
      Brake , had it lock up , no problem Anti-
      Lock kick in , you see the advantages
      Of a modern bike you don't have to be
      Scared , you forget we were rideing bikes
      With no Aids at one stage , but I like the
      Modern aids , they make it safer , and our
      Brains might be a bit tired 😫 , but we all
      Know one that comes with age is wisdom
      Don't Respect it , will bite you , I love this
      Style of bike , Busa are also a great bike

    ZX 14 owner here in the U.S . I totally agree with you on everything , I am 54 and have mine for 2 years .Best bike I have ever owned and it’s well worth, the weight , the expenses, the speeding tickets , because when you twist that throttle….men!!

    I love my ZX14R, yes all the points you mentioned can be an issue, but with some discipline, is a dream to ride literally all day.

      I agree. Name any performance bike or car that returns great MPG. That's not why you buy one. I loved my 2012. I lost it in a fire, and will buy the last 2022 year model. In the US, they are $17K out the door. Not an expensive bike for the pedigree. I just hope they don't announce a supercharged ZX15R for 2023 ; )

      @@tvdinner325 I think ZZR is in it's end of life era. I'm about 99% sure that it'll be replaced with the H-series. Which is of course isn't a bad thing.

    The best bike I’ve ever owned.. 2007 ZX14 now with 80,000 kms just came back from an 8 day road trip. GIVI side and top cases and your good to go. Love love this bike

    I agree with all your points ... but I've had my ZX14R since 2014 and it's the best bike I've ever owned 🙂 I'm always looking for something to replace it with, and while some do a couple things better / different, there's still just nothing better than the big ZX.

    Had zx14 for 12 years then upgraded to the zx14r 3 years ago. 110,000 kilometres....thats with other vehicles . I think thats a world record for length of ownership. They spoil you for other bikes. The motor pulls you up if you go too hard in a corner. Tyres are $A 650 a pair. Ive done over 10,000 kms on a rear.Iridium Plugs last 30,000 kms and are very awkward to replace. Drive chain lasts for years. Brakes last because of the strong engine braking.
    The handling is amazing but the adjustment is fiddly.
    They handle dirt and gravel and poor quality road surfacing.
    I fitted a higher screen and heli Bar risers. I can now sit upright at 140. The foot pegs are high. Though at high speed the pegs are good and the bars too high. As 200+ is not an average speed thats fine.
    They are reliable , well made, comfortable machines, one of the best motorcycles of all time.
    I get 38 mpg average. Thats open road use, nothing like Southern England , with a village every 5 miles, and congested towns. Average, 140 to 180. The zx14 i had would dip to 25 mpg if you push it to 250. The zx14r is more economical and also has eco mode.
    They are a Premium machine not a basic commuter so expect it to cost you a lot but not at a ridiculous level, like a v8 .
    Wait there's more.
    There is no tedious travelling, no winding down the road. Just dial the horizon towards you.
    Hang back behind a car or line of cars and accelerate....in 6th....as soon as theres a place to overtake. Restrain yourself from exploiting limited oppurtunities to overtake.
    The grunt takes a while to get used to, just make sure you are ready for rentry. The bike runs on auto pilot or minimum input. It never heads forvthe verge should you sightsee for half a minute.

      I agree, bought a 2016 PS model a couple of months ago - still getting use to it. However what a machine quick & comfortable - just have to control the right wrist!!!

      @@iantaylor2789 I got used to the acceleration in time...but not the full high speed....public roads are not safe and no Autobahn....lucky if the road is sealed.
      I found early on if I had gone in too fast on a corner that the engine pulled me up....so drama always composed...even on uneven secondary country roads in Australia, which are all chewed up by road trains

      Thanks for the good info. I own GTR 1400 and would like to trade to ZZR gen 2, Performance Sport 2016 (Brembo, Öhlins, Akrapovic). Insurance is much more expensive and riding position more sport, so maybe not good for my neck and hands. ZZR is about 50 kg lighter and more powerful (+60 hp) which is very good. ZZR is more expensive as well. Anyway, I probably go for it... :)

      @@herkko61 its not a full sports bike anyway, its not like a 600 that you can only ride for an hour. Higher screen and bar risers are cheap and increase the comfort. The stock seat is tilted forward. Modifying so its flatter this helps again.

      @@buddhastaxi666 Maxing out ZZR is pretty damn scary on normal roads. I've done it few times and I still remember the first time. Full on from 100. Next time I managed to glance speedo it showed about 260, which was my previous max speed ever and it felt almost no time at all from that "the sound, what happened?" glanced the clocks again and realized it's not going to go faster. After that I stopped and began to wonder the distance it all happened to braking back to 100 and I realized that it was something like maybe less than 3km's in total. After that the respect for the bike and the thought "This is definitely not good idea to try to do constantly or I'll be in coffin within very short time" 😀

    Have a 2012 with 13k miles,flashed with full Akrapovic,Ohlins rear,booster.
    Graphs, 215 rwhp,and 127ft/lb.
    So 225 rwhp with ram Air.
    Guess I'll keep this one.

    I started on a 2012 zx14r full bolt on, lowered and stretched, learned how to drag race to.. been riding for 8 years now. Anyone that is interested in a zx14r. GET ONE.

    I have the zzr1400 and I disagree with most of what is said. If you can afford this bike then you can run it.

      It's a good bike, I had the 2014 se model but no way near to be the best for me. it's a bit bland and lacks character I got bored riding it. I prefer the r1 or tuono 1100 over zx14.

      I once owned a stripped Mitsubishi Pajero. That car had character. Because of the lack of weight in the back, the back always tried to overtake the front cornering. But, if you timed it well, stepped on it just before the corner, it drifted perfectly and quite fast through the corner.
      What people call 'character', are most commonly design faults, quircks or even defects in a vehicle, that you turn into a quality.

      It is expensive my rear tire cost me over 230$ not installed and my insurance is pretty high worth it to ride such a beast! Mine is a 2007 has full brocks exhaust, power commander, knn air filter, and stainless steel brake lines. The brake lines are a must especially if you have the crossover to the second caliper makes braking much better!!! I’ve gone over 160 feels great!!!

    Been riding for 42 years and have owned 2 ZX14's. A 2007 and currently have a 2012 14R. You hit the nail on the head. Respect this bike and its power or you're dead. That simple. But, it is an absolute "E" ticket ride every time you throw your leg over. I don't find it to be that heavy, I guess it depends on what you do with it on a beautiful weekend ride. What I find more of a problem anymore is not with this bike or any other bike you ride, it's these cagers who want to play lane jockey or can't put the damn phone down and drive. Anyway, be safe out there rider.

      Spot on with the cager's my man. Riding in metro area's will get ya killed, even IF you ride safe. I ride Aggressive Defensive. I get to the lead of the pack and clean air, then relax.

    Just got mine , it was used 2019 , I have it on low power as a new rider , I Fear the bike and Respect! the power
    Had a V star 1300 , then a Gsxr 600 , then I saw a channel called the busa killer!
    It's Amazing! , the power! , yet you can just Cruise on it!
    My Gsxr demands power! Once you ride a ZX14 R
    you won't want Anything Else! Enjoy brothers , im 52 and if I can do it , so can you , my bike came with handle bar rizers , much more Comfortable 😊

      I've had a couple Blackbirds and really loved them, those needed bar risers as well but a great bike, I've just hit 50 and was recently looking at this ZZR1400 bike only to be told it's discontinued, I don't want full on sports but these are my inbetween before I'm too old for proper fun, time for some shopping.

    Been riding a ZZR1400 2009 for 10 yrs. Maintenance isn't really that expensive. It largely depends on how you ride it (and doing some things yourself helps). Pulling wheelies at every light will demolish your chain in no time, but that's a general. It's a heavy bike but it will lift it's front wheel even in 3rd with ease without using the clutch. I did about 50.000km with my first chain. Second was to be replaced soon. Tyre wear is more dependend on cruising speeds. High speeds eats tyres. Especially on heavy bikes. But I did over 12.000km with the rear and double for the front. Michelin Road Pilot GT (rear) set me back some €180 and the front plain Road Pilot was €130-€140.
    Totall loss end of 2019 :(

      @@jonasbaine3538 Long story short: I f*cked up.
      I was in traffic on the highway, watching a guy in a car behind me in my mirrors (he had tried to be my duo with his car several times) and when I looked in front of me, there was a car standing still some 4ft in front of me, while I was doing 45mph. I managed to get the bike to the left (closest) side and it more or less grazed the car, instead of hitting it full on. I got a free flying lesson and the bike somehow (debris?) got a 1/2"hole punched in the engine block gliding over the highway. A piece of metal from that hole broke off into the gears with the engine still running. Amazing how much damage a small piece of aluminium can cause. I only broke some ribs. But luckily my suit did what it was made for: right side shoulder-, elbow- and kneecaps all broke in half, but my shoulder, elbow and knee were 100% OK.

      ​@@jacobreqps4760I'm 6'3 260 no problems. Raise the handlebars up with some risers and you're good to go. Your back will thank you. You still getting aggressive stance if you want doesn't affect it at all.

    i actually started on this bike 😂 before you ask i had tried many other bikes after i got some experience and time on the ZX14R but still i would choose this bike over any other bikes. but that's just me.

      I started with ZX9R and then went for ZZR1400. Latter is kinda easier to ride to be honest. They're really tame unless you purposely feed it. I also taught my girlfriend to ride with ZX9R. She had only ridden moped like 15 years ago for few km's 😊

    I have a 13 zx14-r (states), bought new now having 23,700 miles on it. I am not the typical straight liner this bike has an unfortunate reputation as. I like the scrape the pegs. And I realize that in no way this bike can out handle a lightweight supersport in the hands of a experienced track rider, but on the street and even on the track, this bike is quite capable of strong and satisfying performance as far as taking turns. It's quite humorous when on occasion I run into a squid on their 600 only to find me passing them on the inside of a corner at 90mph. And I'm not saying this happens all the time, or I'm some magnificent rider, but the fact is, and we all know it, today's lightweight supersports are so far beyond what average street riders are capable of using, that the zx-14r is something more like the liter bikes of the 80s and 90s. Yes, it's heavier (you can drop quite a bit of weight just by replacing the exhaust) but it's not any heavier than the "supersports" of those eras which all were around the 550-600lb range.
    I run sport tires, such as M7RRs, Rosso IIs, Q3s, and S20s (S20 EVO 2s or other Bridgestone's NOT recommended based on my experience). I typically get around 3-5k miles out of a set of tires, and am most satisfied when the sides are as used up as the center tread.
    This is a super fun bike and easy to have fun with. And if one is inclined, and doesn't get it in their head that this is only a "drag bike" or good for a "200 mph cross country jaunt" this bike is quite capable of boogey woogeying through turns.
    As mentioned, if I could magically change anything about it would be of course lower weight, and perhaps thinner lowers. If you scrape the pegs you will find scuff marks on the lowers. But that's OK, that's what touch up paint is for.

      I had a yamaha VMAX, and it was heavy, and I would go through tires quick!
      One time I put a car tire in the back, and it lasted a very long time! (Like they used to do it in the 1960's)
      I'd take it to the dragstrip, and it had so much traction, that I would run 11's, popping wheelies on every gear!..lol..!!

      ZZR1400 is indeed fairly nimble bike. I had '98 ZX9R and after that I went for ZZR1400. When I first went to test ride it I was bit skeptical that would it be fun bike, but pretty much immediately, like within first km of riding I got that "holy shit, this is almost more nimble than my previous bike". Sure ZX had more so-to-say aggressive steering and it kinda almost wanted to throw itself leaning, but ZZR really isn't that far off. On the other I was almost bit scared to test ride it as I thought engine could be quite intimidating, but it's much more easier to ride than the ZX was. I had the ZZR for sale at one point and one guy called me that is it way too much for 600 rider with few years of experience and I was like "Absolutely not, unless you whip the thing on purpose". Thing on ZZR is that, albeit it's indeed quite heavy bike, it's center of gravity is really low. My friend who owns GS test rode my bike and he was astound how "low weighted" bike felt to him. He had owned ie. GSXR before, so not only GS.

      @@rimfire2642 You have a good sport touring bike with a lot more giddy up than turning ability , same with the Hayabusa. I have a ZX-10 w/180 @ the wheel but it turns though not nearly as comfortable as your bike. Ride with a quick group have qtr mil. miles some on the track. Anyone who passed on the inside of a corner would not ride with us again that's what a Squid does. No more comment from me.

    As a long time owner, this list is pretty well spot on. Though if you have the discipline to not over use the power, you can also avoid getting tickets. On a side note, Bridgestone makes a sport touring tire T30 that is available in a GT spec for the heavier bikes. They last nearly twice as long as stock tires and I found they do very well in the wet and handle great for normal street riding.

    2020 ZX-14R. When I first got it and barely hit the throttle and my head snapped back...I almost took it back to the dealership...(Insert Bill Cosby's 200mph joke here).
    My cousin who hadn't ridden a Bike in a very long time and nothing as powerful as mine, wanted to ride it. Our older cousin who is an experienced veteran rider said "No Cruz, you don't want to get on this one. Trust me, it'll kill you or hurt you, if you're not used to the throttle on this thing. It's a monster. Don't get on that bike". Lol...

    Love the video. Great advice for the big bikes. I have a 2011 BMW K1300s. It gets better mileage in that I have gone 220 miles (354km) on one tank keeping out of the throttle. 180 miles or 289km if it’s a spirited ride. I prefer shaft drive to chain. I would love to own the zzr1400 just for fun, for the long winding roads of Colorado. Have fun on that bike guys!

    Really good video, nice to get all the useful info without all the noise that's typical of so many bigger channels. I ride a Super Tenere with 38.5" bars and have very little trouble filtering anywhere, I can't imagine a zzr is that bad for beating congestion. If I thought I could afford an extra bike I wouldn't let the zzr's width put me off.

    I''ve owned two ZX14's, a 2007 and a 2012 and the bike never felt big to me. Even at low speeds around city. The ZX14R has been out for 11 yrs now and it's still a phenomenal bike.

    I transitioned from a zx11r to the 14r. I thought, 'how much difference can there be?' WHOAAAAA, the 14r makes the 1100 feel like a 400. Absolutely LOVE the 14r. What a beast.

    I have a fast gen 1 and it's the best I've ridden. It's comfortable as a lazyboy, it handles great, it has great brakes and its fast af . I can only imagine how a gen 2 would be, I'd love to have one

    Great video, as you say it all applies to the Hayabusa, i'm a fairly new rider at 50 y/o, passed my test in 2020, spent 18 months on a K4 GSXR 600 (which i still have), got the Busa last September, it's been brilliant, as you say if you are not a speed freak, need to pin the throttle every ride, thrill seeker or just daft then you will survive, on the subject of dropping the bike, unless you are in the middle of nowhere you'd be amazed the people who get out their cars/vans etc to rush to help (found this when i dropped my Gixxer at a junction in town) so wouldn't let weight put anyone off. Crash bungs are essential though (no damage at all on my Gixxer due to the crash bungs), met a guy a few weeks ago with a ZZR, he dropped it in his drive three days after he got it, damage was £1200.

    The single worst aspect of owning this bike is other bikers . Ive found that other people assume you love going super fast in straight lines and are obsessed with top speed , ive been out with people often seem to take it as a challenge to be faster then the guy on the big Kawasaki and how they pissed all over him and his big flash bike . Tbh im more interested in biking with people and enjoying the ride at whatever speed . Before i get roasted for buying a zzr1400 i done this purely because im bone idle and couldn't be bothered to keep working the gearbox and me and mrs needed something a bit more comfortable

    Toured all off Europe and averaged between 160miles to 180 to a tank if your only getting 120 either your doing alot off stop start,or pinning it everywhere 👍

      I ride mine back and forth to work (all highway) and I routinely get 180 per tank with still more than a gallon left. It's all about wrist control...something that isn't always easy on these beasts.

      @@imabeliever244 the only need for wrist control when riding a high power bike is to maintain a low speed that is far beneath the capabilities of the bike. Which is pointless and cumbersome during long rides or for daily commute. By buying a low cc bike like the Grom or the MT15, you can run the bike at optimal performance while not having to worry about going to fast, thus ensuring a relaxed and pleasurable commute for the rider.

    Even after that im STILL going to buy a 2016 ZZR 1400 I just LOVE the look and shear power (on tap if wanted) my only concern was the very good point about filtering a very valid point. I think i will just have to put up with that though.

    Another good video. They are big not much fun in heavy traffic. But they are a bike to get on and do a lot of comfortable milage on .I've got a jen 1 and get 200 miles on a tank the jen2 is fueled heavier to give more grunt at lower revs which you will not get 40 to the gallon. My jen 1 is an absolute dream to ride at low speed or at high speed if your brave enough. Twist that throttle and watch every thing behind disappear. That engine is the gift that just fills you with excitement every time you put a leg over it.

    I Absolutely Love my 2006 ZX14 Bought it as a left over in 2007 and never looked back. Power Commander mapped to a Muzzy exhaust. Unbelievably Scary at times! I've been riding like 40 years now and still maintain a certain level of Fear & Respect for that Beast. Always wear my gear. Looking forward to seeing how the 2012's and up feel.     Couldn't agree more with all the positive comments! It has the ability to behave and go slow, but it's mind-blowing when you open it up. It's a totally different bike with the full Brock's Pentacarbon exhaust! Dropped 42 pounds and sounds amazing, WAY better handling (it handled really well stock)! I also went up on the rear tire to a 55 (Michelin Road 6) and now the handling is quite sharp, not the razor blade of a 600, but VERY responsive. Love my bike!

    Had my 14 for ten years, as of today just 500 miles shy of 60000 miles, still going strong, not sure why he said clutch is heavy. Fells like others to me. Oh well.
    Yes tires wear out quickly, but need the best traction possible.

    I'm 50, have a Suzi 750 commuter tho have mostly ridden Katanas (81&83) which I love. Always thought I'd get a Busa but I'm picking up a 2014 today. The power is a concern but I'm sure looking forwards to some mod cons eg a new braking system. Katana brakes lol..... Thanks for your vid.

    I have one, and yes, it is the best in the world. So stable and powerful ! I live in Greece, and the insurance is only 110 € / year ! The expenses (gas, maintainance…) depend where you live. And it is true, it is not a bike for everybody, expensive but when you love, you make sacrifices. If you want a cheap, slow and agile in city, 2 wheels, buy a moped ! 😉

    Hello, I am the president of the ZZR 1400 Italia club. It is difficult to support the theses I saw in the video but everyone is free to think as they see fit. The ZZR 1400 is a fantastic project, born to counter the dominance of the Busa (after the zx12r) and gradually became the representation of a special driving model: very fast tourism. It is one of the motorbikes with which you can do quiet tourism in two with a very charged bike but also remove the paint on the steps of the supersports. Obviously it was not born for the track or for touring like a BMW GT. however, it is a motorcycle that manages to reconcile many of these aspects. Unfortunately it is condemned by Euro 4, Kawasaki's new compressed engine course does not appeal to me nor to the members of my group, in fact only two people have switched to the H2Sx. I can only say long live the ZZR, as long as there are some left.

      I was truly being picky about it in this one, echoing you're exact comment, none of the issues I listed were reasons I wouldn't buy another one in a heartbeat. But at the same time, I know some people may find the points I made to be valid concerns, especially around the whole city riding issue.     Reading comments and started to laugh, this is were i knew it, all one's of zx14 would make comments. Me too love her, with all upgrades, to a point that I'm not at the drag strip.
    There fantastic for any rides though long straights to windy mountain's. Found Diablo coursa 2 or the battlelax s22, are the best out of all for her. I had her since new 2013.

    Bought mine new 2014 ohlins suspension. Will be my last bike. 160ks to work and back, on one of the best motorcycle roads I have riden. Weather only allows a few dozen commutes per year. Great bike.

    Wednesday getting closer delivery day for my 2018 performance sport. Insurance isn't bad got quoted £230 but I've a 2010 so going multi bike which is £440 for both and keeping it at a garage which isn't my address so happy.

    Cop said he was doing 130 and I was pulling away from him. Prosecuted for 90 in a 60, not all cops are bad, and I was Guilty.
    But the 14,, yep, brilliant, does everything, even through winter. I use my bikes for 20mile trip to work.

    I’ve owned two. Lovely bikes. But eventually you realise that you just can’t use all the performance (or half of it for that matter) for the reasons you covered and because there are more comfortable and manageable ways to ride at ‘normal’ speeds, so you sell and move on. One thing you have to take into account on a bike such as the ZZR is the abundance of terrible drivers on the roads, they just don’t see you because they are not concentrating. Overtake a line of cars at your peril……

      Totally agree - sold my ZZR14 and got a Pan Euro. This seems like a bizarre choice but speed cameras are popping everywhere and removal of one's licence was inevitable even for minor throttle infringements (5,000 rpms and already just over 100mph). The Pan Euro gives a slightly different thrill in that you never quite know if it is going do a little 'Pan weave' and try to kill you :)

      ZZR is quite comfortable, but that power is deadly tempting thing on it. Like my friend who test rode my bike said after on "Nice, you can feel it wanting to be fed constantly" with grin. I'm likely going to buy ADV as next bike and been planning to sell my ZZR1400, but I've come into conclusion that it delivers that performance that I'd begin to mourn after immediately, so I'll likely keep it even after getting another bike ❤

      Your last point is relevant to all motorcyclists and drivers. My riding instructor told me "Always assume that everyone else on the road is trying to kill you". With over 10 years of riding and driving without having any accidents, that advice has saved my bacon countless times both on a motorcycle and in a car.

    I own ZZR1400 (2009), a Hayabusa and two Blackbirds. I think that the ZX14R is the most expensive one. But when it comes to valve level adjustment, for all bikes it will cost a lot. The ZX14R is a beautiful bike. Some maintenance activities, will take longer as for some other bikes.

    my 2014 zx14 ,if ridden at normal highway speeds, would get 50 mpg. with a 5.8 gallon tank i could easily go 200 miles before filling up.where do you get 130 miles from?

I'm not 1 as 4 bullshitting but after a life of bikes with a small break in the midst I'm now 68 and I'm looking 4wards 2 I hope many more years on the most amazing bike wether old or young this bikes exhilarating and intoxicatingly p4mance yet with a hell of a good range of those safety aspects that are designed 2 look after you ? It does and 2 ride it this will be what you find ! Me I'd say divvent hesitate if you're in the main experienced and wanting the sort of feeling you get from excitement 🤗🤔😜😉👍

    Considering one as an only bike but the width might kill it. Any experiences filtering in London on these?
    Used to have an FJR and difficulty filtering was why I sold it.

    I got the first model from 2006 and I haven't seen any bike in the market since which make me want to swap. Simply the best bike ever

    2015 performance sport, bought new; ex Kwak uk show bike; can’t imagine being without it; does anything I want from commuting to annihilating all comers four wheels and two - - - but you really do have to watch the speed - - - simply awesome bike.

    Just took delivery of my zx14. The bummer is it is just before Christmas and now I have to wait several months to get her out on the road. But hey I can visit with her every day at work as she is stored in an nice warm and safe place!

    Here is my review of the review XD.
    1... I love to pin the throttle and also turn 30 this year...Still kickin'.
    2... Got mine for $3k. Cheaper than most bikes you'll see. And they go at a pretty decent price now days anyway. It cost the same for maintanance as my missus zzr600... Same spark plugs, Filter and oil. Tyres get around the same kms too unless I'm powerskidding more than usual.
    3... 7.2l/100km and I thrash it. But when I ride nicely, I get about 350km to a tank. Its about the same as the misso on the 600. Bigger tank (24L)but still worth it. And still cheaper than a car.
    4... Yes... Its heavy on paper... But its also very well balanced and the weight is nice and low so it does not feel as heavy. It has suprised myself and anyone I get to sit on my 14 how light it feels compared to reviews that talk it up. I dropped mine in a friends driveway once when the ground under the stand was too high. It was noticibly heavy compared to say the 600 or definitly 250's but still easy enough to pickup by myself.
    5... Yes again... Its wide for sure. Though my brother has a ZZR1200 and that is far wider. I still filter and ride throughout the city quite often but if you're in a city with narrow traffic lanes, it might not be ideal for you.
    6... I would usually say the same... But I had a 125 cagiva for a few weeks and almost lost my license. I have had my zx14 for over 3 years and I don't think I have recieved 1 ticket for it yet... Best part yet, they can ticket what they cant catch XD

    Congrat for the 6 fair warnings. I am the owner one zzr 1400 since quite a number of years. I shall not sell it although many times people offer me nice prises. If one respects these characteristics you mentioned you might not get in trouble. I am to old and experienced to try out the limits of this machine on the public road since I can feel it widely outranges mine as a skilled (but realistic) driver and motor instructor.

    Stop the hate of this video. He has some valid points for those in the market for the beast. Insurance can be huge on this bike. Ever try changing the plugs yourself. Watch some videos. The gas reference is really not a reason. Yes to speed. Some guys want the fastest thing they can afford but have no idea how to control it and get into trouble.
    I wish he would have covered things like pillion comfort, rider comfort for older guys being bent over. Such as neck and back strain or elbow and wrist pain.
