first time fishing in new york! what a better first time experience than fishing inbetween two of the great lakes on the mighty niagara river! like sub share and comment!
I saw Eric, the boy who helped you, at this fishing pier once. Friendly person. By the way the water is never calm like this now. It's rough because the power authority turns on the pumps close to the fishing pier. Makes it really hard to fish.
10:30 please get that smallie back in the water man I’ve never left a fish out of water that long that’s how they die man but this vidoes got some nice fish so far. And congratulations on the baby
Nice video tell my boy Aaron the Buffalo Perch Killer said keep up the go work he's one of my River Rat's he' well known in are fishing community for his knowledge of fishing and just one great guy we love him in the fishing community Aaron's the man
We have Burt's Dam to some of the best salmon fishing in the country you catch the white bass with minnow's with a bobber right in front of the rail's about 3' out
Buffalo perch killer yea I'm definitely looking to hook into my first ever salmon next time and would love to get into some white bass there's so many species up there that we don't have here in Maryland there's just not enough time for me to fish for them all! Lol
DOUBLEO (obsession outdoors) check out my channel I fish every where in the region I love to fish all year round I'm a live bait fishermen best way to go check out some of my videos and tell me what you think and the next time you come up here we can fish together I'll even get Aaron we also can help each other with subscriber's
Went salmon fishing there one cold morning, didn’t catch anything personally but the guy next to us hooked up on a huge one. We were closer to the actual dam wall though
DOUBLEO (obsession outdoors) also, the fish in this water have been exposed to chemicals that aren’t good for human consumption. It’s ok to eat the fish, but take the filets/ steak they’re the healthiest part
@@716calvin so just free line the crayfish no weight or anything? And ok good to know I never would have guessed honestly it seems like some of the cleanest water I've ever seen
DOUBLEO (obsession outdoors) yeah the bait should weigh enough to get it down to the bottom. Then pull up a little and you should be good. The water has cleaned itself out, but the sediment at the bottom isn’t the same as before. Like I said, they’re ok to eat. It’s all just personal preference
crank baits would kill the smallies there ..and huge rubber white gobies catch the huge bass..softshell crayfish aswell..im not sure what your open season on bass is there,..but id rather eat some bass than silver/white bass..silver bass are fishy tasting and you need to soak the fillets in milk, the meat is not the same in the silver/white bass,, i live in Niagara Falls Ont by the way ...if you put a huge sinker on and a big worm harness with some glitter to it,..who knows maybe a 6-7ft 300-500lbs monsters sturgeon will take it or a 50-60lbs catfish..
That guy was such a nice dude!
I know! He saved our trip!
I love people like him.! 🐟😊
Someone needs to make that kid famous. I'm headed there and will be there tomorrow and I hope to meet this young man

Yeah it's an amazing place
Should've tossed Eric a $50 for helping you out. 👍
Believe me if I'd have had it i would have! He truly saved our trip! Thanks for watching!
It’s not always about money man some people actually do things for someone else’s well being not for money
Obviously every one down there at that rail should have a long handled net especially if you get a big one on.
Yeah for sure next time I definitely will
If you wanna catch the sheepshead/ drum you can also use live crayfish
Nice! How do u rig them??
DOUBLEO (obsession outdoors) a hook right through the tail should do the trick
DOUBLEO (obsession outdoors) also, the fish in this water have been exposed to chemicals that aren’t good for human consumption. It’s ok to eat the fish, but take the filets/ steak they’re the healthiest part

Nice! Thanks for the info! I'll definitely look into it! Thanks for watching
How weight do you use and what kind of rig are u using
Half ounce sinker number 8 hook about 12 inches above the weight with a live minnows/shiner
What rig?
@@Joe-fq2lm small hook about a foot above a small sinker with a small minnow
Looks like a Lews spinning reel )
Sure is!
Is that kid still around?
No idea lol
That old dude didn’t even have line strong enough to get that fish up and now that nice fish got a dam hook in it
Lol yeah unfortunately
Well I had to cut a lot of hooks off from fish. It sucks but they will either digest it and yes they can. Or they will work the hook out.
@@hankhill4556 I'm not sure they can digest it lol but they can definitely pass it
@@DOUBLEO_ObsessionOutdoors well I guess
@@DOUBLEO_ObsessionOutdoors I always crush the barbs on baits that don',t move much. saves headaches and fish
God how many times do u gotta ask if the bait is alive
Obviously as many times as it took to get an answer lol pretty simple to figure out
Can the platform be fished at night
I'm not sure tbh
No. It closes at sunset.
I never knew this even existed I wonder if there’s one on the Canadian side
Not that I know of lol thanks for watching!
If u want to catch salmon go to oak orchard dam 💯
Abdulazeez Alshaker where is that at? What time of year is best?
Abdulazeez Alshaker it was the hot spot this year my boys live up there they wouldn't come to Burt's Dam
Buffalo perch killer yeah I've heard people talk about that place do you ever catch any big browns?
September-oct
Yes man my brother caught 6 big browns
Where is this
U gotta be kidding right? Lol
DOUBLEO (obsession outdoors) oh I see it so dumb sorry
