I actually haven't tasted it yet... but the only reason I kept them was because I heard others say there are comparable to walleye and perch👍 I'll let you know how they are once I cook em up!
@@OutsidersOutdoorCo Awesome, thankyou for responding, much appreciated. I’ve seen some of your other videos also. It’s quite a drive to Niagara for me but I would love to check the lower river. I noticed you’re using about 5 split shots on your line. Are you able to bottom bounce,or is the current too strong?
You can bottom bounce at the river but the only place I would recommend bottom bouncing is at the platform because there are no rocks until 15ft out. If you were to fish from the shoreline I would not recommend bottom bouncing because there are to many snags. I mostly float fish in the river, I got a link to my float setup in the description if you want to check it out👍👍
The best time is probably the month of May but they're are in there all summer, just have to fish the deep spots early in the morning or late at nights. Pretty much every time I caught a walleye it came on a 3in white swimbait with 1/4oz jig head👍👍
Your videos has got me into float fishing. Just a rookie only tried it once. While your fishing the river approximately how much line is between your float and bait?
When fishing the river I usually float anywhere from 8ft-15ft deep👍 Heres the link to my setup hope this helps! th-cam.com/video/h-mhqokHrzc/w-d-xo.html
@@OutsidersOutdoorCo if you see a barge, you’re screwed. The upper Niagara is a rather popular spot to dive. You just need to pay attention to your time to hit your exit points. There’s lots of bass, Muskie, pickerel (walleye), sheepshead, and the occasional sturgeon.
State record for white/silver bass is around 3.5 lbs. I caught one out of Erie by boat in late May night fishing for Walleye (Buffalo harbor) that weighed in just over 3.2 lbs. Wasn't as fat as the fatty you caught, but somewhat larger overall. Tough to guess the weight but yours looked to be over 3 lbs no doubt.
I bet there a 4lber lurking out there somewhere just waiting to be caught, but in the meantime I should get a new scale lol. Idk the reason but the white bass around here get huge!
The smallies have been big this year out on Erie...I haven't caught many under 3 lbs lol. We were out yesterday on Erie in about 25-30 ft of water and the bite switch flipped on when the clouds rolled in. The river always produces some great catches, just an all-around awesome fishery to have nearby in WNY!

Thanks man, our of all things did not expect to catch a crappie!👍
That fisherman accent is really shining through… need to carry that over to the theater
Great video guys, and very ethical fishing, congratulations on a great day!
Thanks Rob appreciate it!😎
Man am I glad to see y'all again...epic fishing guys
Thanks Alberto 🙏😎🎣
Very nice! Love the coloration of that first smallie! May have to make a trip up prior to salmon season.
Thanks man, might have been the coolest smallie pattern I ever seen, good luck to ya!😎
Gonna make a Summer trip there this year I think. It's such an awesome area!
Good luck to you!! There's always a ton of bass around 👍👍
How are the white bass for eating? I'm used to smallies around here and not too far from there

Are there any good place to fish at Canada side?
Not to familiar with the CAD side👍
Beautiful place!!! Where is this located? Can't believe how clear the water is.
It the Lower Niagara River, beautiful scenery down there!
White and black crappie hybrid. I've caught many in eastern New York state.
Outstanding, that’s a beautiful spot, water is so clear too. Are you using live bait?
We were using minnows and crayfish 👍 but swim baits, tube jigs, and spinners work good for artificial!

That was a big white crappie never seen one caught out of the lower but not to long ago I saw someone pull out a rock bass
Crazy how many species are down there!
I see a lot of big bass while diving in the upper river.
That's one way to find the good fishing spots! The current doesn't suck to downstream?

The fishin is hot rn 🔥
Good eating Croppie
👍👍
That crappie you caught is a black crappie. That fish is better tasting than those white bass. Too bad that you let it go.
