Nice Bowfin. My wife and I went there last year to check it out. I saw a couple huge largemouth and some really nice big carp. There’s a small bridge at the end of where you are allowed to fish and that’s where I saw them.
Nice, unfortunately I didn’t have time to walk down that way. I’ll have to try that direction next time, Tift has a reputation for having big fish that are hard to catch haha
Some of the Indian folks in Buffalo will take home and eat fish from the most polluted water bodies ever. Personally I wouldn’t dare but all the power to ya (as long as it’s not my precious bass)
What are some of your best fishing spots in buffalo ny
Appreciate you cleaning up. I do the same thing when I’m in a spot that people left stuff behind at. It takes a couple seconds not to trash your home.
Is it open for fishing?
Last I knew yes
fished that spot a lot as a kid before it was Tift farm , never saw a bowfin just lots of crappie and big pike that would come in there to spawn
That’s cool. I’m sure that place has changed a lot over the years.
Try Fishing there no there is to much seaweed to even cast
Yrs ago when I was a kid. Use to stock the back ponds with trout and could catch nice crappie in the front pond.

Grew up fishing Tift farms and small boat harbor. Stopped there with my niece couple years ago, caught a 5 pound largemouth on whopper plopper
That’s awesome! Sounds like you got one of the big ones I was after haha
I'm pretty sure there are health warnings against eating fish from Tift. Something about being built on an old dump site. Either way cool video

Nice cool
I wish people would practice catch and release. Bass taste like shit anyway
