@Lexita “They think me Macbeth my ambition is my folly” and he doesn’t take a break for the summer because of his ambition, and because he didn’t take a break he ended up having an affair with Mariah Reynolds, his ambition makes political rivals Jefferson, Maddison, and Burr who then search for a way to discredit him, they find out about the affair, and Hamilton afraid they will tell others writes the Reynolds pamphlet to control the story which damaged his political career and meant that he would not be able to get enough votes to be president. Since he couldn’t get the votes it was between Burr and Jefferson, then publicly states he supports Jefferson, in part causing Jefferson to win and Burr to lose, and this offends Burr so they duel and Hamilton dies. The actor that plays James Reynolds also played Eliza's father. So he essentially gave Hamilton permission to have a relationship withtwo different women in the play.
@dianayoder1285 having this juxtaposed against his main action as Eliza’s father telling Hamilton to “be true” (even though Eliza sings it) makes it even more gut wrenching.

Fun fact about the comma bit in Take a Break: Although that specifically didn’t happen in real life, (if I’m not mistaken) there was something similar where the real _Angelica_ left a comma in the middle of the phrase “My dearest, Alexander”. Hamilton then proceeded to call her out on it in his next letter, writing something to the effect of “I see you placed a comma in the middle of the phrase there. I don’t know if you meant it, but I will know if you repeat the same mistake again.”
8:13 Ok because its a shitpost that doesnt seem spoilery to me and because you brought up the "Sons not done" thing: I remember there being a tumblr post about this song going "My name is poet, I am a Phillip and I look like your dead boyfriend, wtf Dad" and it STILL lives rent free in my head any time I hear this song.
I want to add some historical context to the “my dearest, Angelica” In real life, Hamilton and Angelica were good friends, but there was probably no romantic relationship. The “laughing at my sister cos she wants to form a harem” line from helpless references a 1794 letter where Angelica (now living in England) wrote “your Husband, for I love him very much and if you were as generous as the old Romans, you would lend him to me for a little while”. Given that Eliza remained loyal to Hamilton after this, it seems like playful teasing and therefore implies there was no romantic relationship there. Additionally, the letter that inspired Satisfied (through the quote “You are happy my dear friend to find consolation in “words and thoughts.” I cannot be so easily satisfied”) also doesn’t seem like there is a romantic relationship, as she says she loves Hamilton in the same way her father does- bear in mind Hamilton was very close with the Schuyler family as he was an orphan- suggesting a familial relationship. She also calls him “my dear brother. (Interestingly, there WAS a romantic relationship or at least one way attraction between Hamilton and Laurens, look it up) The “my dearest, Angelica” line is actually reversed. Angelica made the mistake and Hamilton teased her about it. She wrote "Indeed my dear, Sir if my path was strewed with as many roses." To which he responded "There was a most critical comma in your last letter. It is my interest that it should have been designed; but I presume it was accidental. Unriddle this if you can. The proof that you do it rightly may be given by the omission or repetition of the same mistake in your next." He teasingly ended that letter with, "Adieu ma chere, soeur," which translates to, "Goodbye my dear, sister." With a sarcastic comma after "dear,"
Are you sure? Because Lin said he added that line in there because Angelica really did write to Hamilton asking him about him placing a comma after "dearest" and asking what he intended. He said that was part of how he knew that Angelica did love Hamilton, and not just in a familial way, but she knew she could never have him since in real life, she was already married when they met.
I hope Casper gets to see all the cut songs, some add more context while others are basically just rewrites. I think all of them are amazing and deserve their own video once the musical reactions are finished.

@@whitenobeard I mean TBH Eliza did care because spoiler warning when Alex says to Phillip “your mother can’t take another heartbreak.” It’s because he’s talking about Peggy’s death, not the fact that he cheated.
@@LostTempest I always figured that was Alexander referencing his infidelity, not Peggy's passing. If it was a reference to Peggy though, it would be an equally vague reference as the count being off for the lyric "558 men who died under your command" referencing Elpenor's death in Epic.
Reynolds plays the Schuyler's father in act 1. If Casper remembers, they spoil the whole show for you in the opening song, when they get to "I loved him" notice it's all 3 sisters singing it but "Peggy" is Maria Reynolds in that moment.

"She's looking *helpless!"* CASPER! HOW DID I NEVER PICK UP ON THAT CONNECTION BEFORE. DAMN (I also somehow never caught the "look around, look around" bit in Take A Break before so thank you also Mortius!)
When I found out Hamilton was going to be on Disney+, I genuinely worried they'd end up cutting "Say No To This", because it's 75% melodic orgasming. 😂
Couple of things: 1. Hamilton's life takes a sharp downward spiral after he says Macbeth which is a reference to a theater superstition of saying Macbeth being bad luck. 2. At the end, y'all need to go back to Alexander Hamilton. 3. Y'all should check out the cut songs as well as the Hamilton mixtape. Jill Scott as a version of Say No to This from Maria's perspective called Say Yes to This and it is amazing.
The only fun fact I can give rn is this: Peggy's life was simply not exciting enough to show more of. Along with time, and the fact that the actress for Peggy (Jasmine) is the same actress for Maria. You will hear people say "Peggy died!" But that is not true. She died in 1801, way in the future for this point in the musical. I might add more fun facts later but my history nerd hasn't really been nudged that much yet- Edit: one more thing, there were actually way more siblings in the Schuyler family. They just focused angelica and eliza cause they're way more important in alexanders life Edit 2: I FOUND MORE STUFF TO TALK ABOUT Maria Reynolds WAS actually abused by her husband. I believe she was forced to marry him at 16, and had her child at 19?? She was forced to do fhe affair because James threatened to kill her child if she didnt. They show this with the "dont leave me with him, helpless~" and at the end of the song, if you pay attention you can see and hear james smacking the money against his leg to "signil" maria to follow him, probably why she keeps looking back as shes leaving The affair could have also been a whole lie to save the rumors going around about alexander embezzling money from the government (tell me if i said that wrong cuz i dont know lol) AND the guys Casper noticed before in the background that hes mentioned IS James Reynolds.
It was never proven Alexander ever embezzled a penny. And Jefferson tried for the rest of his life to prove that. Even after Hamilton died. But the Reynolds pamphlet was real, and really was written and published by Hamilton. . You can find a copy of it online. It actually reads more like he's bragging. At least that was my interpretation of it.
Two really cool things to note. In "helpless", Eliza is the one who says it but Hamilton never does. Meanwhile, in "say no to this", it is only Hamilton saying helpless. 👀 The second thing is just a bit of musical theater reference where the notes for "nobody needs to know" comes from a Jason Robert Brown musical called the "last 5 years" which is so musically satisfying.
Something I noticed 18:15 Angelica's line is 'screw your courage to the sticking place' which is another Macbeth reference. It's a lady macbeth line and considering the early symbolism it almost feels like Angelina is almost more of a reflection of Hamilton then Eliza is.
A few fun facts about things that you can see in this set of songs! The whole superstition with "the Scottish play" is that if you say the name of the play on stage, you invoke bad luck. And Hamilton's story begins a very awful spiral after he says the word while writing to Angelica. Speaking of, Angelica's line, "Screw your courage to the sticking place" is Lady Macbeth's line while telling her husband to kill Duncan. Ominous, given all that happens afterwards. Peggy was likely struggling with her health around this time, but she died a little later than the beginning of this act. In fact, she happened to die around the same time as someone ELSE... :))) Philip and Eliza's duet at the beginning of this is an invocation of "Ten Duel Commandments". :))) A lot of the story with Maria Reynolds is speculative (as is the supposed attraction with Angelica), and part of the affair was supposedly letters that she wrote him (as evidence of the infidelity), but this was at a time when women (especially poor women) weren't as well educated in writing. There are insinuations that the scandal was concocted to cover for OTHER misdeeds that Hamilton was being rightfully accused of, but we'll never know the full truth because Maria never got to tell her side. This song is why Peggy/Maria joins the other Schuyler Sisters in "Me, I Loved Him". The guy who played James Reynolds also played Philip Schuyler in act 1, that might be where you recognize him from, though Mortius is right about him stepping in for bit roles. Still, interesting casting choice. :) In "Helpless", Alexander never actually says "Helpless", just heavily implies he will. But in "Say No To This", he finally says it, with a woman who is touching on JUST enough familiarity with both Schuyler Sisters Alexander is implied to have feelings for. Anyway enjoy my essay lol XD I'm loving these thoughtful and analytical reactions you guys are doing! Keep it up, you guys are doing great!
Considering that she came to him as a victim of domestic violence, asking help from her political representative because she has no rights in their society, makes Hamilton's actions even more gross. Not saying she's blameless, but the fact that her being "helpless" is framed as enticing is horrible.
Agree 100%, we also have to consider that this is all what Hamilton wrote about the affair in which he tried to make himself look as best he could. So of course she’s portrayed as a seductress. As Burr says in the show this is how Hamilton tells it. I don’t know if have any records of Maria Reynolds writing or saying anything about it, we probably don’t. Hamilton definitely took advantage of her no matter what, but was she forced by her husband to “seduce” Hamilton, did she “seduce” him to have some form of security since her husband has left her, or did the real life Hamilton force himself on her.
Can I just say how much I love the line "I trust you'll understand the reference to another Scottish tragedy without me having to name the play" because people at this point actually believed that Macbeth was cursed, Shakespeare apparently name dropped incantations that actual witches would use, so it was very common at this point (and even somewhat today) to refer to Macbeth as the Scottish tragedy, rather than call it by its name
Hey boys! No musical spoiler here The "with a comma after dearest" was actually a mistake Angelica made and Hamilton ranted to the changed meaning to her in his next letter, at least what I've heard Also Jefferson was actually afraid of Angelica, if he thought she was going to be at an event he wouldn't go (I don't remember if he had a reason for it)
That is correct. The "My dearest, Angelica" line was actually reversed. It was Angelica who made the error and Hamilton who teased her about it. She wrote "indeed my dear, sir if my path was strewed with as many roses." He retorted "There was a most critical comma in your last letter. It is my interest that it should have been designed; but I presume it was accidental. Unriddle this if you can. The proof that you do it rightly may be given by the omission or repetition of the same mistake in your next." He further teased her when he ended the letter "Adieu ma chere, soeur." Which translates as "Goodbye my dear, sister." With the comma sarcastically placed after dear.

He wrote the following; To Elizabeth Hamilton, This letter, my very dear Eliza, will not be delivered to you, unless I shall first have terminated my earthly career; to begin, as I humbly hope from redeeming grace and divine mercy, a happy immortality. If it had been possible for me to have avoided the interview, my love for you and my precious children would have been alone a decisive motive. But it was not possible, without sacrifices which would have rendered me unworthy of your esteem. I need not tell you of the pangs I feel, from the idea of quitting you and exposing you to the anguish which I know you would feel. Nor could I dwell on the topic lest it should unman me. The consolations of religion, my beloved, can alone support you; and these you have a right to enjoy. Fly to the bosom of your God and be comforted. With my last idea; I shall cherish the sweet hope of meeting you in a better world. Adieu best of wives and best of women. Embrace all my darling children for me. Ever yours, A.H." @miss_eyem Hamilton is an interesting figure. He was a great man who was deeply flawed, as all great men are. In some ways, the musical makes him appear worse than he truly was, and in others, it has him appear better. I think if you get a real grasp on Hamilton, you generally come to the conclusion that he was a good father, a very intelligent man, a good husband, and generally did what he did with the best intentions. However, of course, he did have many faults that can't be ignored. Cheating on Elisa was despicable, and I don't think anyone could argue otherwise. He definitely didn't take perceived slights well, really held grudges, generally thought himself better than most others and was extremely conscious of his image, which he held in the highest esteem. I would highly recommend reading his letters. I would also recommend Ron Chernow's biography of Hamilton. It's by far the best biography anyone has written on him. You will learn so much.
10:23 "Eliza I've got so much on my plate" while they are about to eat dinner. I never really noticed that pun until I realized he says "safe my plate" earlier. Kind of funny to imagine he is just saying "how am I supposed to eat that much" here
Casper accidentally calling Peggy the name Elpenor when Peggy also died offstage without anyone mentioning it is some next level version of his nat 1 or nat 20 prophet record.
One historical detail from Hamilton’s life that LMM couldn’t fit into the first act was when he accompanied Washington to the fort at West Point to inspect it after Benedict Arnold took over as commander there. What they didn’t know was that Arnold had just met with his British contact John Andre to hand over the fort to the Brits. When he learned of Washington’s imminent arrival, he hightailed it to the British in NYC, leaving his young wife Peggy behind. Peggy greeted Washington and Hamilton literally topless, clutching their baby to her bare breast, crying hysterically that she expected to be murdered. They spent some time just calming her down, and they were both suckered in by the helpless woman act. Yes, it was an act-Peggy is thought to have been the actual liaison between Andre and Arnold, since her family were widely known to be Loyalists and she dated Andre when the Brits occupied Philadelphia. LMM wanted to include it to establish Hamilton’s susceptibility to a helpless woman in Act 1 setting up his relationship with Mariah Reynolds in Act 2, but just couldn’t squeeze it in.
Fun fact - The actress who plays Peggy/Mariah, Jasmine Cephas Jones, was engaged to Anthony Ramos, who plays Laurens/Philip for a few years before they split in 2021.

I don't think he was writing to Angelica in secret because everyone back then kind of described them as intellectual soul mates. Because Angelica's intelligence was the only one that matched Hamilton's. But Eliza knew they were close and knew her sister would never betray her.... Hamilton is another story
Hysterically accurate Angelica maybe. Show Angelica would jump Hamilton and betray Eliza in a second. Only a thirsty ho would say the shit to Ham that she does.
Also the Macabeth bit is a theatre supersition that if you mention the play in theatre it will wall go wrong, which is why alexander says that why he says the line, and says hes hes sure she knows what play its from without him having to name it. He then mentions the character of macbeth, which is not the same under the superstition but it is the point at which eveything starts to go wrong. Also morteus Angelica was herself in regular corresponsance with Thomas Jefferson at this time and were also friends so shes saying basicaly I know you both im sure you can come to a agreement.
9:33 Honestly, Lin has a habit of putting his friends in OBC roles or straight up writing roles for them. Chris Jackson (Washington) was one of Lin’s best friends and was Benny in OBC In the Heights. Anthony Ramos (Laurens/Phillip) took over the role of Usnavi after Lin stopped performing the role, leading to him working with Lin in “21 Chump Street”. Leslie Odom Jr. (Burr) performed in a production of “Tick, Tick…Boom!” alongside Lin in 2014. Daveed Diggs met Lin through Lin’s old freestyle rap group Freestyle Love Supreme, and was one of the first people to join the team for Hamilton.
The Farmer is played by Thayne Jasperson, who is still in the show on Broadway and often understudies for King George. Also, the last line of “Say No to This” (“nobody needs to know”) is a reference to the musical The Last Five Years. There’s a movie version with Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan that’s really good.
The farmer was a different person, however Mr Reynolds did also play one of the guys who comment on the constitutional convention, ‘who the eff is this’. :)

To anyone wondering: no, Peggy isn't dead. Peggy died in 1801, the same year as Philip. That's why Eliza is wearing black in Stay Alive Reprise - she just came back from Peggy's funeral. Peggy isn't present or mentioned in Take a Break, because historically she already lived in Albany near her parents at that time. It would've made no sense for her to go to NYC just to sing "and Peggy" and then go back with her sisters to the exact same place she left from a few days ago.
He has more than just a son. When his 9 year old rap he said I have a little sister but I want a little brother too. He has more than one child at this point.
In the Hamilton biography, they talk about the troubles Peggy went through. She was not well, so not a lot happened with her. She was loved by the Skylers, as well as by Hamilton.
Since you brought up colours with Jefferson And Burr I've been looking out, and I find it cool that Eliza and Hamilton are wearing similar Shades of Green for this section. They're on the same page, tho Hamilton's expression is darker, while Elizabeth has a bit of a lighter colour to her dress

They just don’t mention it here ALSO LIN CALLED THE COMMA THING COMMA FLIRTING AND I DIE EVERYTIME I THINK ABOHT IT God say no to this is such a bop despite the topic (ALSO the red and green colour contrast)
"Say No to This" is my favourite song in Hamilton, I *love love love* singing it. It's so satisfying as a singer managing to get that "Stay" note. And it impacts the plot and characters so heavily - it's fantastic. I just adore the song. Fantastic.
The painful irony is that while Casper is off about why (IIRC, the rapping vs singing symbolism was said by Lin to be about striving/drive/"a mind at work" toward progress versus being content with where you are and what you have (Eliza)/resisting change (Burr, Samuel Seabury, King George)), Philip's death is foreshadowed in this song, by way of the counting theme. (If you haven't seen it and want to know more about what I'm referencing with the counting theme, I highly recommend Howard Ho's video on the 10 Duel Commandments, though it could be his video on Stay Alive that I'm thinking of; I need to go check those out again myself after I finish watching this amazing reaction series of yours!)
Idk how else you wanted them to have someone play a 7-8 year old in a play without getting an actual 7-8 year old. Most of the time it is just an adult playing the child.
It might also be interesting for you guys to know that the actor who plays Philip/John Laurens, Anthony Ramos, was engaged to the actress who plays Peggy/Mariah Reynolds, Jasmine Cephas-Jones, in real life. But she called off the engagement when he was caught cheating on her.
Mortius really went “Why are you rolling perception checks? This is meant to be an interlude?” 😂 In the international run of Hamilton, they replace “John Addams doesn’t have a real job anyway” with “Vice President is not a real job anyway” for more context and it gets the same laugh, I can’t. #WheresElpenor2k24
Something I noticed is at the end when they're going "yes. yes. Yes! Yes! YEEEEeeeessss". It's essentially building and building before climaxing into falsetto. I think that was supposed to musically represent their sex in that moment which ensured he'd pay
Idk if this is common knowledge or not, but literally WHILE watching this video I realised that in Take A Break, Hamilton mentions Macbeth by name, and then things start to go wrong. Like Maria happens, and the rest of the play up to his death (which I was gonna explain then realised SPOILERS so I won’t). The Macbeth curse of theatre literally happens within this play. Hamilton says Macbeths name and gets HORRIBLE luck immediately after.
Casper’s theory about rappers being the ones that die cause they’re running out of time is one of the biggest revelations I’ve learned in this series. He’s so freakin smart for connecting that

Basic rundown for anyone interested, in the first album, a blind prophet - Ayreon, from the age of Merlin - receives visions sent back in time about the end of the world in 2084. In future albums, it delves into really fun topics like alien life and dependencies on technology, and one of the albums follows 8 people plucked from different moments in history into a futuristic castle, which many of them at first believe is the afterlife. It's got a very sci-fi kinda vibe to it, and I cannot recommend it enough - but it's not for everyone :D

@edisonlima4647 I mean yeah, but Casper's comment made me laugh. 😂
@@edisonlima4647 I think choosing to cheat on someone with their own sibling that they're close to would be more hurtful in my opinion. Especially if he was in love with her.
What, no! That would be even worse. Imagine your husband cheats on you with your SISTER and then, they also love each other! I'd rather have my husband cheat on me with a rando. I'd still divorce him, but it would hurt so much less and the betrayal wouldn't cut as deep.
The actor that plays James Reynolds also played Eliza's father. So he essentially gave Hamilton permission to have a relationship withtwo different women in the play.
And Peggy plays Maria Reynolds! So technically Hamilton has either slept with or been in love with all three Schuyler sisters!
@dianayoder1285 having this juxtaposed against his main action as Eliza’s father telling Hamilton to “be true” (even though Eliza sings it) makes it even more gut wrenching.
Wasn’t he also the dancer with the book in the skylar sisters?

The "John Adams doesn't have a real job anyway" line is because at this point in time he was the Vice President, which was basically the spare president until the 1930s.
It's worth mentioning that on the West End (and in the UK tour) the line was changed to "vice president isn't a real job anyway"
what changed in the 1930s? There were VPs who advanced to the presidency before and after that

Yes and no. Fun fact, there were 15 Schuyler siblings. Also, IRL Angelica was already married when she met Alexander Hamilton.
Also, they named another son Phillip, but that one lived a long time.
Fun Fact: The 30 bucks Hamilton casually gave to Mariah Reynolds is equal to about $1,000 USD in 2024.
Yeah he... kinda brought that mistake of hers a couple times on his letters to her, so it did sound... hopeful, maybe.

But you CANT save mine!
I want to add some historical context to the “my dearest, Angelica”
In real life, Hamilton and Angelica were good friends, but there was probably no romantic relationship. (Interestingly, there WAS a romantic relationship or at least one way attraction between Hamilton and Laurens, look it up)
The “my dearest, Angelica” line is actually reversed.

Couple of things:

Peggy's life was simply not exciting enough to show more of. Along with time, and the fact that the actress for Peggy (Jasmine) is the same actress for Maria.
You will hear people say "Peggy died!" But that is not true. She died in 1801, way in the future for this point in the musical.
I might add more fun facts later but my history nerd hasn't really been nudged that much yet-
Edit: one more thing, there were actually way more siblings in the Schuyler family. They just focused angelica and eliza cause they're way more important in alexanders life
Edit 2: I FOUND MORE STUFF TO TALK ABOUT
Maria Reynolds WAS actually abused by her husband. I believe she was forced to marry him at 16, and had her child at 19?? She was forced to do fhe affair because James threatened to kill her child if she didnt. They show this with the "dont leave me with him, helpless~" and at the end of the song, if you pay attention you can see and hear james smacking the money against his leg to "signil" maria to follow him, probably why she keeps looking back as shes leaving
The affair could have also been a whole lie to save the rumors going around about alexander embezzling money from the government (tell me if i said that wrong cuz i dont know lol)
AND the guys Casper noticed before in the background that hes mentioned IS James Reynolds.

The second thing is just a bit of musical theater reference where the notes for "nobody needs to know" comes from a Jason Robert Brown musical called the "last 5 years" which is so musically satisfying.
"The Gen 3 Pokémon Hoenn Region trumpets" Now that is a man with fine tuned ears
Philip and Eliza's duet at the beginning of this is an invocation of "Ten Duel Commandments". :)))
A lot of the story with Maria Reynolds is speculative (as is the supposed attraction with Angelica), and part of the affair was supposedly letters that she wrote him (as evidence of the infidelity), but this was at a time when women (especially poor women) weren't as well educated in writing.
In "Helpless", Alexander never actually says "Helpless", just heavily implies he will.
I love Mortius' frantic signing and gesturing at Caspar who is completely consumed is so funny haha!
So excited to see Casper''s reaction to 'Say No To This' xD
I know he's gonna be filled with alot emotions
I love just how happy Casper was to find out him and Mort both have two brothers
Casper being an Arrowverse fan warms my heart - all of those shows were filmed where I lived, and Smallville in particular was filmed down the street.
i love say no to this and our favorite bean, Phillip
Hey boys! No musical spoiler here
The "with a comma after dearest" was actually a mistake Angelica made and Hamilton ranted to the changed meaning to her in his next letter, at least what I've heard
Also Jefferson was actually afraid of Angelica, if he thought she was going to be at an event he wouldn't go (I don't remember if he had a reason for it)
That is correct. The "My dearest, Angelica" line was actually reversed. It was Angelica who made the error and Hamilton who teased her about it.
She wrote "indeed my dear, sir if my path was strewed with as many roses."
He retorted "There was a most critical comma in your last letter. It is my interest that it should have been designed; but I presume it was accidental. Unriddle this if you can. The proof that you do it rightly may be given by the omission or repetition of the same mistake in your next."
He further teased her when he ended the letter "Adieu ma chere, soeur." Which translates as "Goodbye my dear, sister." With the comma sarcastically placed after dear.

@miss_eyem I love reading his letters. My favourite has to be the one he wrote for Eliza in the event he didn't survive his duel with Burr. It was said letter that Hamilton is writing during the song "Best of Wives and Best of Women." He wrote the following;
To Elizabeth Hamilton,
This letter, my very dear Eliza, will not be delivered to you, unless I shall first have terminated my earthly career; to begin, as I humbly hope from redeeming grace and divine mercy, a happy immortality.

@miss_eyem Hamilton is an interesting figure.
This is gonna be second to helpless and satisfied!!! AHHHH I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS REACTION!!!

It really took my appreciation to the next level, and I think for someone who actually understands it (unlike me) it will probably add so much more!

James Reynolds isn't the farmer, he's Mr Schuyler when Alex is asking for Eliza's hand
"Where is Elpenor?"
Last I heard, he died and no one noticed. He died and nobody cared.
James Reynolds doesn't play samuel seabery in farmer refuted but he does play Philip Schuyler in helpless when Hamilton asks for his blessing
in the most platonic way possible, Mortius and Casper singing No To This would go hard
Reynolds is not from Farmer Refuted. The farmer is Thayne Jasperson, who is still in the show.
I never noticed if it was in secret or not. Because at the end of the day, writing to a sister-in-law is common especially for the time period.
The farmer was a different person, however Mr Reynolds did also play one of the guys who comment on the constitutional convention, ‘who the eff is this’. :)
I love how you can see the utter _betrayal_ on Casper's face at 'helpless'

Peggy: That’s a nice marriage you got there Alex. Sure would be a shame if someone were to (changes into red dress) ruin it completely.
John Adams's only "job" was to break a tie in the Senate, so Alex isn't entirely wrong.
I’ve been looking forward to this. That belt on the “stay” lift has always been my favourite note in the whole show.
John Adams was Vice President to George Washington, thus, "He didn't have a real job" in Hamilton's view.
I am so glad to be on rhis journey with you!
This is the first video of yours that i noticed, a few days ago, and since then I have watched them all and i am SO EXCITED to be here for the big finish 😁
They count to nine several times at the start of the song... That's a clue to remember Philip's age.
He’ll finally understand the Epic reference!
He has more than just a son. When his 9 year old rap he said I have a little sister but I want a little brother too. He has more than one child at this point.
Casper will finally get the reference ayy :D
In the Hamilton biography, they talk about the troubles Peggy went through. She was not well, so not a lot happened with her. She was loved by the Skylers, as well as by Hamilton.
34:42 I would argue this is one of the best notes in the entire show.
Peggy is the Elpenor of Hamilton :)
Pls profit Casper, tell about the future of this musical again...
Also a reason Maria looks familiar Casper. She was one of the girls in the first song that said ‘Me, I loved him’. It was Eliza, Angelica, and Maria
I love Casper and his rolls so much
Since you brought up colours with Jefferson And Burr I've been looking out, and I find it cool that Eliza and Hamilton are wearing similar Shades of Green for this section. They're on the same page, tho Hamilton's expression is darker, while Elizabeth has a bit of a lighter colour to her dress
Oh man, Casper is in for a ride with the next song! It's definitely my favorite in the whole show!
Angelica actually spent quite a good amount of time in Jefferson’s company, while he was in France. They just don’t mention it here
ALSO LIN CALLED THE COMMA THING COMMA FLIRTING AND I DIE EVERYTIME I THINK ABOHT IT
God say no to this is such a bop despite the topic (ALSO the red and green colour contrast)
I have been waiting patiently for this moment Ive had say no to this tiktok noises playing on loop ever since the last Hamilton reaction
Mortius really went “Why are you rolling perception checks? This is meant to be an interlude?” 😂
In the international run of Hamilton, they replace “John Addams doesn’t have a real job anyway” with “Vice President is not a real job anyway” for more context and it gets the same laugh, I can’t.
#WheresElpenor2k24
Something I noticed is at the end when they're going "yes. yes. Yes! Yes! YEEEEeeeessss". It's essentially building and building before climaxing into falsetto. I think that was supposed to musically represent their sex in that moment which ensured he'd pay
26:45 I’m just a Maaaan!
He’s so freakin smart for connecting that
There has to be some very specific kind of psychic ability, where you can perfectly predict the future, but only of plot lines in musicals. 😂
A friend of mine has started showing me a set of musical-esque albums called Ayreon that started releasing back in the 90's. I doubt it's something that would be covered here as it's very prog-rocky/metal-ish and heavy, but there's a good 7-ish 60-120min albums off the top of my head and I'm loving it so far.
Whee do I find these

I know I'm not the first person to say this, but Peggy does die early on in her life. Not at @16:14 this point, she would probably very well still be alive. But she did marry late and did pass away in her early 40s from an illness.
Fun History Fact: There was an actual reason Eliza and her kids and Angelica were going to stay their father, it was due to a yellow fever outbreak.
FTR Alexander and Angelica were not writing in secret, it would've been so normal for them to write regularly.
