@@ScootxSome other songs from hamilton that mainly the singer from burn (phillipa soo) sings are helpless, that would be enough, take a break, who lives who dies who tells your story
All the songs written by one person - Lin Manual Miranda! It is NOT a standard musical, which is why it won 11 Tony Awards and is still running on Broadway. It is well worth watching.
Hamilton was the first musical on Broadway to ever incorporate rap and hip hop the way it did, and it really revolutionized musicals. The rotating stage was also a new invention for Hamilton and there are so many aspects of this musical that are just pure genius but you’ve gotta see the whole thing to understand. At its peak, tickets for Hamilton with this original cast were going as high as $25K (resale) and many A list celebrities, as well as the Obamas and the British Royal family, saw the show and highly praised it. Some of the cast members even performed at the White House for Obama’s farewell, that may be a good video to react to.
It was the second actually. Lin Manuel Miranda’s first Broadway show “in the heights” is in this same style of rap, hip hop snc r&b and opened years before Hamilton did. Hamilton is Lin’s second Broadway show. The turntable is also lot a Hamilton invention it’s been around for decades. Lin’s favorite musical of all time is Les miz which used a turn table to great effect and became famous for it. Hamilton is Lin’s American version of Les miz. There are lots of Easter eggs and inspirations taken right from Les miz.
Nonstop is literally a combo of all the major songs in Act 1: Wait For It, Helpless, History Has It’s Eyes On You, Satisfied, My Shot, Alexander Hamilton (beginning song) That Would Be Enough. Also there’s 2 different actresses singing to Hamilton in Nonstop: Renee Elise Goldsberry “Angelica” was the first actress, and Phillipa Soo “Eliza Schuyler-Hamilton” the second actress who plays his wife. Also when they said their names “Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy” it was actually in order of who died first. If it wasn’t for this musical, not much would’ve been known about the sisters…..Angelica and Eliza were both very much involved in politics but Peggy (real name Margaret/Margarita) wasn’t….she actually married very young, had kids at a young age, and died young with Hamilton by her side when she passed. The sisters had several other siblings but only a few survived to adulthood and they did have brothers. You should definitely react to A Winters Ball, Helpless, and Satisfied but the live versions because all 3 are connected but you have to watch the love videos to see it all happen.
Dear Theodosia, Guns and Ships, and The Room Where It Happens are my top three recommendations. But the whole musical is amazing, honestly I recommend just watching it as a whole!👀
Hey man, you can't sleep on musicals, especially a lot of modern ones! Epic the Musical is another one that's still in production, but more than half of it has been released and it's really, really good. It's a musical adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey in Greek Mythology. There are animatics that can help with the visual context (which is something I'd recommend for any musical that's not filmed). I'd recommend The Horse and the Infant/Just a Man, Storm, and Warrior of the Mind.
The show is sung almost completely through with only a line or two of dialogue. All the action happens in song. And the bulk of the music references early 90s hip hop. It’s so good.
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s songwriting skills are top notch quality! His work has range, no matter which studio he works under. His work like Hamilton, In the Heights, Moana, Encanto. He’s got a phenomenal track record of hits!
The following are my suggestions: My Shot, Right Hand Man, The Room Where It Happens, Guns And Ships, Say No To This, Cabinet Battles......aw hell, just do them all.
These types of videos are so fascinating to me bc 1) I got into Hamilton in peak 2016 so seeing people get into now is crazy and 2) I am studying public history in school and think the reception to Hamilton as a "history lesson" is wild and such an eye opener. History is interesting as fuck but because of the way it's often presented people don't like to learn about it; the only downside to things like Hamilton is that people take it as gospel history rather than a story based on history. So for me as someone who loves history and loves to tell people about the important things that happen not only in the past but how they apply to the modern day, it's cool to use videos like these to find the line between portraying accurate history (which fewer people respond to) and fanciful retellings (which people are more receptive to)

You should totally watch it! I don't like musicals much at all, but Hamilton is like the one exception (and Tick Tick Boom is also decently good) but Hamilton is the one musical that even if they're not your thing, you won't regret checking it out
Scoot you gotta listen to the EPIC The Musical soundtrack, some new songs just dropped recently so its super relevant. I absolutely love that musical and there are some awesome animatics out there for some of the songs that you could watch!
Oh you're doing Musicals now ??? That's amazing!! Idk if you take recs, BUT I can recommend you the Epic Musical!! (Epic:The Musical) The songs are straight up bangers, the story is inspired by the Book "The Odyssey" and greek mythology/greek gods and so on. The people behind it are not a big production company. It was made by Jorge Rivera-Herrans and is still in the making!! Meaning Act 1 is already completed together with the first Saga of Act 2. (The musical is split up in 2 Acts and Act 2 just started a couple of days ago, the rest of the second act will come out) The Musical so far is also pretty short compared to other Musicals. (around an hour and maybe 20 minutes now) I can't stop advertising for this Musical, there is so much love and passion put into it. So i can really recommend it!!
hell yeah, can't sleep on hamilton, the songs go so hard 🙏‼ i'd just watch the whole musical bro, hearing the songs in context of the story just elevates them 🙌
I did Burn on my artistic diploma, hands down my favourite, but the whole musical is a masterpiece 🤩 I saw reactions to the whole thing, of course a lot of pausing and cuts, but also some people do animatics so that may be a way 🤗
YESSS ONE OF US ONE OF US!! So many people who aren't full lovers of theatre assume when they hear musicals they think it's sappy love songs and dances when most musicals are so well put together with amazing songs and dances and a beautiful story. Hamilton is my top favorite musical because its a historic musical. yes it has some flaws with some info taken out of it but Lin-Manuel Miranda did an amazing job when he wrote this musical. You are now officially a theatre kid! welcome to the fun group. and if you ever do watch Hamilton you will cry trust me. I had my friends who hate musicals watch hamilton and they cried.
I would 1000% watch you react to hamilton, i know the musical is long but they have an intermission section in Disney+ where you can pause and take a break or cut the reaction in half, either way i cant wait to see you react to more songs!! ❤
I watched a reaction for Hamilton where the guy split it up to one or two songs per video and had a series of it. If you pause frequently and add input it might help with the copyright as well. I hope you react, it’s what got me into theater and it’s one of the best musicals I’ve ever listened to.
So cool that you’re reacting to this, it genuinely deserves all the praise it’s been given! Definitely recommend watching it in order, luckily you can just listen through the entire album and understand everything since it’s a musical with no breaks of dialogue! Also if you’re wanting to react to other musicals I recommend giving a listen to EPIC!the musical! It’s currently an ongoing original musical that has a lotta similarities to Hamilton and it’s super good (also if you want to watch it in order start with the Troy saga as the musical is broken into multiple albums/sagas with a total of 6 sagas being out now!)
omg you actually need to react to these songs in order arghh 😭😭 some songs continue right after the other so they cut off weird as a single track. and then towards the end of the musical, several melodies+lyrics from previous songs are used as motifs (i.e recycled/referenced) to make them sound soo soo grand and beautiful 🥹
Oh I would definitely be down for a full musical reaction! The truth is many people listen to the music before they watch the show, so maybe a few more songs before you make up your mind? But you picked some great ones. A reminder that the musical may be long but that's why there's an intermission. You could potentially break it up into two parts if that makes it easier. Also, the singer you like who plays Eliza (sings Burn) is Philippa Soo. If you want more of her, she voices a character in the Netflix animated movie Over the Moon. Great movie, and her song Ultraluminary is a whole bop. ALSO ALSO there's a song called First Burn which is the old version of Burn before the final made it into the musical. Its performed by many of the OTHER actresses who have played Eliza in other productions. It's sooooooo good and it has a lot more bite in it than the final version.
If you react to these songs from Hamilton, you have to listen to them together & in this order: A Winter’s Ball, Helpless, & Satisfied. They go together & tell how Eliza & Angelica Schuyler (pronounced Sky-ler) meet Alexander Hamilton.
I needddd a full reaction to this musical! So many things hit different when you have the story presented in order and w the dialogue! I want him to watch more songs, but I also don’t because I’d rather some things be saves for if he does a full watch
For sure I’d watch a full musical reaction- would love to hear your thoughts across the board. There’s so much more greatness in addition to these few songs. Wait for it is my fav, so very happy to see it included here
If you enjoyed burn I highly recommend First Burn, it’s kinda like a remix of burn with multiple women playing Eliza it’s very good. It’d be a good reaction if you want to keep listening to Hamilton stuff (and first burn is not technically part of the og soundtrack)
Man my best friend is Hamilton obsessed. She got me to design her tattoo that’s centered around Burrs line ‘I am inimitable, I am an original’ I hadn’t seen Hamilton when I was drawing up but listening to wait for it is what convinced to watch it
Yes, you're going to want to watch this musical, it is magnificent. In the meantime I think I speak for a lot of people when I say we need a "Helpless" followed by "Satisfied" reaction, preferably with visuals so you can experience the full effect. It's Eliza and Angelica and I know if you love "Burn" you're going to love these too. Great reaction!!! 🤩
if you’re starting to get into broadway songs, i HIGHLY recommend songs from Falsettos! the 2016 tony’s performance of “A Day In Falsettoland” is a great place to start!
First time seeing one of your reactions and I highly recommend you watch the whole musical! Since there’s two acts and intermission in between, you can break into two parts. Watch the first act one day and the second act in another day. You won’t regret it.
The first song is definitely more appreciated after listening to all the songs of the first act as there are a lot of references and motifs from the entire first act, wrapping everything together.
if you like Phillipa Soo (the woman who sang Burn) so much, she also voiced a character in the animated musical "to the moon" and has a few good songs!
NOOOO OH GOD NOOO!! THIS WAS MY ENTIRE PERSONALITY IN HIGH SCHOOL, YOU’RE GONNA DRAG ME BACK INTO THIS SHIT SCOOT, FUCK. With that being said, I NEED you to react to the entire soundtrack. I’m not a fan of the stage performance but if sitting and just listening to the songs is too much, you could try that as a visual distraction from the length OR preferably you could watch the animatics of the songs from the fandom. There are playlists that have each animatic in song order or you could check out one of the full length compilation videos “Hamilton: the animated musical” or “Hamilton the musical animatic version”. In addition there’s a very infamous animatic creator who’s a huge staple in the Hamilton fandom named Szin, they did most if not all of Act 1 but they didn’t complete the musical, their animatics are quite amazing and you’ll see them quite often in the compilations, so you can go and watch each of them on their channel or any of the compilations that people have made of their animatics specifically, “All Szin’s Hamilton animatics” or “All of Szin’s Hamilton animatics”. There’s also an Animal Crossing version of the full musical with the songs by GK Animations. Edit: (Wait For It is literally my favourite song in the entire musical and I still have the song on my personal playlists to this day)
Love the reactions! The first one you listened to is the finale of the first half. Watch/listen to One Last Time by Christopher Jackson/George Washington. He sings it when he’s leaving office in the second half. Brilliant.
i just stumbled upon this reaction and i'm so happy i did! you now have a new subscriber and i really hope you react to the full musical. IT'S SO GOOD! in the meantime, i will be watching more of your videos :)

oh my goooooosh I NEED TO SEE YOUR REACTION TO THE WHOLE MUSICAL!
You should totally watch it! I don't like musicals much at all, but Hamilton is like the one exception (and Tick Tick Boom is also decently good) but Hamilton is the one musical that even if they're not your thing, you won't regret checking it out
go over to twitch to watch the full musical sometime!!
like the full thing is on there
@@Scootx wait you already watched it on twitch? I thought I caught every stream
@@pot8oking565 He totally didn't. I'm like 99.9% sure, but if he did and we missed it then... imma be sad😅
@@pot8oking565 I think he was asking if the musical was on twitch but i have no clue
Scoot you gotta listen to the EPIC The Musical soundtrack, some new songs just dropped recently so its super relevant. I absolutely love that musical and there are some awesome animatics out there for some of the songs that you could watch!
It'd be cool if Scoot did other musicals too like Heathers or Six
I just might because everyone keeps saying to do so!
Woo!!
@Scootx OK, but Six first 👍
you should check out My Shot, What'd I Miss, and Room Where it Happens. Those songs are absolute bangers
OMG WHAT'S EVERYONE'S FAVORITE SONG?? I love the Reynolds pamphlet or the room where it happens
the room where it happens or wait for it
satisfied 😊
WAIT FOR IT OR YOU'LL BE BACK :3‼‼
Non stop is my go to when I wanna listen to smth that contains most of the hamilton feel instead of the whole musical
Satisfied, Wait for it, and The room where it happens :)
one thing I love about hamilton is the call back to different songs throughout the musical!
Yesssss….they’re amazing!!!
The intensity of my obsessions usually decreases very quickly but ive been OBSESSED with hamilton forever now- never got sick of it
May suggest listening in order? All the songs build and intertwine. It's intricate.
hell yeah, can't sleep on hamilton, the songs go so hard 🙏‼ i'd just watch the whole musical bro, hearing the songs in context of the story just elevates them 🙌
We need a full reaction video to Hamilton! Every song is amazing and the drama is so good!
I did Burn on my artistic diploma, hands down my favourite, but the whole musical is a masterpiece 🤩 I saw reactions to the whole thing, of course a lot of pausing and cuts, but also some people do animatics so that may be a way 🤗
You can try First Burn. Which just gives a slight different perspective of Burn. A bit more intense, but makes sense for the context.
You gotta watch the animatics man, the visuals with the music is FIRE
You should react to Hamilton animatics! That way you could watch visuals while listening to the song!
Absolutely wild to start with the big climax mix-up-song that happens at the very end of the first act. 😂
Wait For It is my favorite song from the musical, any Burr songs tbh, he's my favorite character, and Leslie Odom Jr is just AMAZING.
you popped up on my reaction and i was like “no way it’s the mlp guy” 😂 nice to see you liked the songs! hamilton is amazing
please react to first burn, it sadly didnt make the musica BUT IS A FAN FAVOURITE
If you love Burn, you should listen to First Burn (it was the first draft of the song and recorded by five different Elizas).
I can’t believe I MISSED THIS 😭@Scoot how could you😔
lol don't blame me
omg you actually need to react to these songs in order arghh 😭😭 some songs continue right after the other so they cut off weird as a single track. and then towards the end of the musical, several melodies+lyrics from previous songs are used as motifs (i.e recycled/referenced) to make them sound soo soo grand and beautiful 🥹
omg omg
Time to karaoke
0:47 clearing my throat for my whisper concert
Yeahh the Schuyler lore is where some inaccuracies maks their way in
Yesssss sir💗Hamilton has been my fav broadway musical since it first came on Disney plus🫶🏽glad that you’re finally reacting to it
Oh I would definitely be down for a full musical reaction!
Wait for it is my fav, so very happy to see it included here
I LOVE HAMILTON
IVE BEEN LOVING IT SINCE 2017
It freaks me out every time I listen to these songs I was SO into this musical when it first came out I can just start singing along automatically
She got me to design her tattoo that’s centered around Burrs line ‘I am inimitable, I am an original’ I hadn’t seen Hamilton when I was drawing up but listening to wait for it is what convinced to watch it
Watched this on Patreon and I’m glad to see this out!
My Shot was the first I memorized, the cabinet battles and Washington on Your Side are two others I love rapping.
Me wondering if he’ll actually watch it so he can see how insane a lot of the layers are because of the references
I feel like you might like the Room Where it Happens
From the beginning is the best way to. It’s a beautiful story.
Such a better experience when you watch the performance… be sure to do that too. Amazing performance!!
MY FAVORITE MUSICAL + MY FAVORITE TH-camR= BEST VIDEO EVER
First time seeing one of your reactions and I highly recommend you watch the whole musical! Since there’s two acts and intermission in between, you can break into two parts. Watch the first act one day and the second act in another day. You won’t regret it.
The first song is definitely more appreciated after listening to all the songs of the first act as there are a lot of references and motifs from the entire first act, wrapping everything together.
Wait for it is by far my favourite song on this whole soundtrack, hits even more with the video tbh
Yay! Im so ready to subscribe to ur patreon to watch your whole Hamilton reaction! ☺️💖
There is a song that was CUT from the musical, it's called Congratulations and it goes HARD!
OMG I WAS WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO
if you like Phillipa Soo (the woman who sang Burn) so much, she also voiced a character in the animated musical "to the moon" and has a few good songs!
The best rap in the musical is "My Shot" and "Guns and Ships". Amazing.
Edit: (Wait For It is literally my favourite song in the entire musical and I still have the song on my personal playlists to this day)
Do them all. All the songs are worthy as reacting to. But if you want some suggestions, "Alexander Hamilton" "My Shot" "The Room where it happened."
Bro this is my favorite musical I love the sound track and the story it’s amazing ❤
I'd watch a 3 hour Hamilton reaction. 💯
yesss more plz, yuo react to the whole thing like a movie or in separate videos!!! hamilton is so good and hearing the story in order is emotional
