- I've owned my Glock 19x 9mm pistol for several months now and wanted to take a few minutes to talk about it and compare it to the regular Glock 19. There is one advantage the regular Glock 19 pistol has over the Glock 19x.

just picked mine up today used. after all the research the 19x was the one for me, not too small, not too big! i love the grip, very happy with my first glock
I have a 19 Gen 5 and a 19X, being a big guy I defiantly prefer the longer frame of the 19X but then again I bought it for a training gun. I did put a TLR 1, replaced the trigger connecter with a 3.5 Ghost connector, and replaced the guide rod with a tungsten guide rod on the 19X. I have 1100 rounds through it and never had a malfunction. The 19 has not seen much range time because 19X has impressed me so much and because I can conceal the 19X it was the gun that fit my needs. Because the 19X was a training gun I have 7 mags for it so although the compatibility would be nice it was not that important to me. Great video, very informational and helpful.
It's hard to go wrong with a Glock
I'll take the mag compatibility or lack of. the grip of the 19x is awesome. The sights are nice. Maritime spring cups. It shoots under water. I am putting an enhanced trigger in mine. Not that I have any issues with the stock trigger. I just want to try out Glocks new trigger. Oh, the 33 Rd Glock mags fit in theb19X
It's not really an issue unless you have no options but a gen 5 mag
I just change the base plates....
The incompatibility of mags is a major negative for me.

That is something to think about but if you have earlier mags you will be fine.
Yep. It’s only the gen 5 mags that won’t fit. All Others are good to go!
Glock 45 is also a good alternative option if that is an issue for you. Same format of 17 frame 19 slide but accepts all gen mags.

For some reason, the 19x consistently has a slightly better trigger feel than the regular gen 5 9mm triggers. This is mentioned in most TH-cam videos, and the samples I own are the same. The 19x trigger feels better than all the gen 5 glocks I have.
I think it is the maritime cups I ordered some, and I will change them first in the 19 gen5 I have and see if there's anything different about how the trigger feels because when I disassemble them I can't see any difference in the internals except the cups that the 19x came with

Gen 3 mag from a G17 will work perfectly in the 19x
Yep, it's just the gen 5 that seem to have the issue.
I chose the 19x. It doesn't bother me in the least if the magazines from gen 5 guns won't fit. I'll buy ones that do fit.
I don't have one but that notch on the grip is a no-go for me. I have a bunch of 17 round mags that won't fit in it. If cross compatibility isn't an issue for someone I'm sure it's great.

I have a Gen 5 G19 MOS and a G19X and I much prefer the G19X. It is my favorite pistol. Incredible shooter, reliability, comfort to hold, and even the looks are just top notch.
The 19x is a great gun. It's hard to go wrong with Glock.
The trigger on my G19X isn't great my 2004 Gen 3 9mm has such a better trigger, It's so much smother than the G19X IMO the the early Gen 2 or Gen 3 (1998 -2005) are perfection!

The sad truth is I haven't got to fire it yet.
I was heading to a friend's house to spend the night and had a car crash The intent was after I spent the night with her I would leave there and go to the shooting range.
No I'm having to rely on my parents and sister to take me everywhere until I have enough money for another car so I may not get to break my gun in for another year 😭

I have small hands ✋️, the 19x I could not get adequate grip, the only draw back.

I bought a brand new G19x. Took it to the range and with 3 different magazines I could not make it through a full magazine without it not going into battery or having stoppages. I had to clear it after every few shots. I wanted badly to have at least one Glock but getting rid of this crap asap. So much for reliability argument. Good thing my life was not in danger with it.
I've never had any issues with a Glock other than ammo
@@BoomStickTactical i thought the same that maybe it’s the ammo, but I had other pistols that I shot with no issues at all, nearly 800 rounds one being the Sig X Macro. Plus I also had a few different types of ammo and it was the same result with the 19x. Maybe I just got a bad apple… 🤷🏽♂️
I’m not saying I don’t believe you but it is rather surprising. There are rarely any issues of reliability with a Glock that isn’t ammo or user related. It’d be a shame to discount one of the most reliable firearms available for either reason. Hopefully you are able to try another one someday to see the way they really perform if no issues.

@@kenna.9368I have an old Gen 3, bought used and still works like a charm, failed to eject once in 400 shots fired, including the fact it has had 0 maintenance except the barrel cleaning with the issued thingie, and 2 disassemblies only up to removing the barrel and spring because i was bored and wanted to see what condition it was in.
Forgot to mention it's in 9x21 if it changes anything.

So get a baby Glock... because its mags won't work in a 19 but 29s will work in the baby.
I have several different Glocks. This was just showing people something they might want to consider before getting one.

Just proved this not long ago that compact/SCs for glocks best only full size for 10mm>45 can’t go 15rd/G19x mid fight last mag especially in class 😒🤭also just download to 10/12rd EDC🪶>SC/SS the SD9VE🪶👑/G19 are the lightest compacts out till this day😴not to mention the MP 2.0 3.6 compact/SC >G19/26
