Glock 19x vs Glock 45: Which is the Ultimate Compact Pistol?
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 2 ส.ค. 2024
- The Glock 19x and Glock 45 are both popular compact pistols designed by Glock, renowned for their reliability and performance. The Glock 19x, initially developed for military use, combines features of the Glock 17 and Glock 19, featuring a full-size frame with a compact slide. On the other hand, the Glock 45 is part of the Gen5 series, combining a compact slide with a full-size frame, providing an excellent balance of concealability and capacity. While the Glock 19x has a unique coyote tan color and ambidextrous slide stop levers, the Glock 45 offers front slide serrations and a versatile MOS system for optics. The choice between these two models often comes down to individual preferences, with the 19x excelling in military aesthetics, and the Glock 45 providing a modern, feature-rich option for both civilian and law enforcement use.

I like that little extension, it covers the pinch point and keeps the mag from biting you.
Glock added the piece to the 19x so that soldiers wearing gloves wouldn’t get the extra glove material in the well when reloading.
Triggers are hot garbage. But these are the 2 best Glocks they make. I have a 19X and it’s my favorite Glock.
19 is the best
Triggers aren’t that bad
@@slimee5549 19 is too small for my hands. 19X is a perfect fit.
@@peytoncole768 it’s like sticking your finger in a pudding cup.
Naw
Just buy a G-45 2 weeks ago , after 100 rounds feels like sig320 but without the Reliability issues. and trigger safety -best of the best.
should I say GLOCK PERFECTION 😂
What reliability issues? 😅 my 320s run better than most of my glocks
You had reliability issues with 320? Mine is two months old, over 800 rounds and not a single malfunction yet...
Great video
Thanks for watching and please subscribe for more.
Thanks for video 🇬🇪💪.
Thanks for watching.
From what I read, the flare out at the 19x handle has to do with wearing gloves. The flare keeps material of the glove from pinching into the mag as it's being inserted. Bear in mind that this was originally for Military use.
***Just to clarify: I'm not saying that's why: Only that I read it in a comment on another video.
Wherever you read that, was correct; according to the Armorer’s class I took last year.
I spent about five minutes with mine, and a Dremel. I relieved the inside of that lip just enough to allow a gen5 magazine to fit properly. The original look is retained, and all generations of magazines now work.
@@j5m1v8g That sounds like the best of both worlds.
I appreciate having the flare-out intact. I had always planned on just purchasing extra magazines, but I think you hit on the perfect solution.
Kudos
Love the 19x. The color really sells me on it but stock night sights are awesome and it’s an amazing shooter. The more rounds I put through it the better it feels. I don’t mind the mag issue as I like to keep the stock 19 rounders on hand anyway. I carry with the 17 rounder. It’s been my primary edc for almost a year now.
It's a great gun. I'm glad to have both of them.
I purchased my G45 Blue label and it is a contract overrun that has night sights, the same mag release as a 19X (another difference everyone seems to overlook) and the maritime spring cups
What’s does contract overrun mean? im looking for more Glocks with the same night sights the G19x has
Very cool.
I also have the Blue label 19x. It's only sold to Military, and first responders.
I had to show proof of being a Veteran.
I also got a discount on mine, not that it made it cheap....lol.
Good video I’ll take both ! I own 3 and want more Gen 3 23 , 1st Gen 43 , and Gen 4 19 all been reliable !
I'm glad to have mine
Nice one Boom, Since I live in California, we still live in the stone age. We can't get crap newer than a Gen 3. It's always nice to see how the modern society gets to live! Stay safe and healthy buddy!
You really need to try to get out of there and get to a free state. We once had neighbors from out there and it was a culture shock to see the freedom we have.
You're on my list buddy, I gotta get out to El Paso and Athens Georgia. Hopefully in early Oct. BTW are you still teaching classes?@@BoomStickTactical
When I first got my hands on a G19X I instantly fell in love with her. I upgraded the trigger because I personally like a 3-4 lbs pull. Next I put a nightstick light, say what you want but the G19X is my home defense rig so you need a way to PID. Honestly I hate WML on pistols I feel like they take away from the ergonomics of a pistol. Anyways, the more rounds I got through the G19X the more I wanted to start running a red dot. So I got the G45 MOS. And getting that in hand I fell in love all over again. Especially after mounting a red dot on her. My poor 19X just stays in my bed side dresser. In my humble opinion the G45 MOS is a better pistol than the 19X. But they are both awesome guns & you can’t go wrong with either. Also been thinking about getting me one of them G49’s. I like the idea of swapping out the slides and making a G19 or a G17.
The 19x is a great gun
Great video as always....I love both of them...I think the 19x is the best shooting Glock..well for me anyway...have a great weekend 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🚒
It'd a great gun. Thanks for watching
i read on a forum the grip extension was there for gloves, keeps the glove from being pinched when reloading
I've seen that also
You don’t have to cut the grip extension off to make Gen 5 mags work in it. Just hollow out the backside of it. I did that on mine, turning it into a lip like structure. Gen 5 mags fit just fine and unless you hold the gun upside down, you’d never know I altered it. Plus, even if you did hold it upside down, you might think that it was simply manufactured that way. Why Glock didn’t manufacture it that way is beyond me. 🤷🏻♂️
Does the Slides interchange?
The overbite on the 19X is there to increase surface on the front strap to help prevent fingers and gloves from being pinched when inserting magazines. Not the first time Glock has done that. Look at some of the sub-compacts.
The 19x is a bit unique in the Glock world
Yea the Glock 26 gen 4 has the overbite too!! It don’t really bother me.
Have both 19X and 45 and love both for slightly different colors . Both are sweet shooters .
Yes they are. I'm glad to have mine
Glock 45 has a double wall trigger that is difficult to get accustomed to. It was a rental at a range so it had a few rounds through it. From a reliability standpoint this is a significant issue for me. Trigger consistency is important. Nice video. Thanks!
Try a couple different ones. None of my Glocks have a double wall.
Tomorrow is the first day I will be carrying my new G45. Can’t wait for the morning to come. 😂😂
Good idea considering the millions of invaders that are going to eventually attack us
It’s comfortable to carry ?
@@AnarchyDemons very much so. I’ve carried guns this size before so I am used to it.
I was carrying mine today.
@@BoomStickTactical and ? Everything you dreamed about ?
I got some trijicon sights on my 45 and they keep coming out and I even put lock tight and waited a week to shoot and it still came out so I locked tight again now we’ll see if it comes out
How loose were they when you put them on? I use XS Sights and had to press them in place.
I read that G19X was designed for military and police. The lip on front of the grip is to prevent the base plate from getting knocked off of the mag when getting in and out of vehicles which was a request.
I can see these being a good option for people with larger hands that need a full grip. For me though, I'll just stick with the old tried and true G19. In a shtf scenario you can still throw in a 17 round mag if you want the extra 2 rounds. It's good to have options though.
I have both. I love both. Shoot both often and I carry both as well.
They are both great guns
I would never like/share/thumbs up a video without watching it first, just not make sense to commit to something I may not agree.
But please continue then I may give you kudos. . .Peace
I polish the internal trigger parts and I put an overwatch precision trigger shoe on them use all stock springs still 100% reliable I do use aftermarket sights and I don’t mind the triggers even stock I will not trust the guns of the week that these other manufacturers seem to come out with about every week and like they say if it ain’t broke don’t mess with it and as far as the flat face trigger well I like it and my trigger finger is messed up so it helps
Thanks for watching
When in combat you never know what position you will be in on the ground on your side , and you could damage your magazine .
Very true
They should just make the 45 a black 19x completely at this point😂
They're very close
Replace with a McNally trigger assembly. Flat face and adjustable. Easy on your finger and no spongy take up. Have it in all six of my Glocks and wouldn’t own a Glock without it.
They’re best model is the 23 gen5 with it’s thicker slide nicely beveled to the frame.
Glock is the best field gun out there with a McNally trigger and Ameriglo sights.
I'll probably end up leaving the trigger alone. These guns play a specific role
@@BoomStickTactical OK, whatever’s best for you. For me, the McNally trigger assembly makes a Glock the best field gun. It’s a trigger assembly that should be in these Glocks out of the box.
Question. Why you acting like the Trigger Take-Up is a Negitive thing??
I’m stuck man I got my 43x as my first gun,I love the gun and the kick but I feel like my hands are a lil to big for it but I feel like I’m getting the hang of it , I’m about to get my next gun. Stuck between the g19x ,g45, and the g20 I’ve been thinking of the g20 cuz I feel like I want that bigger bang just don’t know if it would be the right choice also to clarify I have shot a 19x have not shot a 20 or 45
👍🤔put a hogue hand grip sleeve on it , its makes a world of difference!!
There's a lot you can do. You might even try a different gun.
I’m having issues with my brand need g45 cycling and locking back. I shoot a little lighter reloads but have no issues with any other pistol shooting the same rounds. Glock gave me a run around
Try factory ammo. That's what these guns are tuned for.
@@BoomStickTacticalIt runs good with factory. I also just purchased a 15 pound spring. It should do the trick
Glock did that to grip and strip mags. No other reason. If you cut the lip off you can use the other mags . hope this helps 🙏🏽
The 19x is definitely designed for fighting
I was wondering if anyone would suggest just taking that lip off…
@@garytucholl7699 That is a mod some do. Once done all the mags sit fine and work as intended.
I own both, and it is hard to say which I like better. Being Retired Army I feel like the 19X is what the Military should have purchased, but that is a different argument to be had. G45, Dove Dot, your favorite Red Dot, what more could a person ask for.
I think the 19x is a better gun than Sig but I'm sure it came down to who got paid off.
Love my 19x
They're a good gun.
I like the Glock triggers I guess I have nothing to compare it to but I like them
I have both and one of the major differences is the 45 can be bought with the MOS if it’s 5th gen.
G45 only comes in Gen5.
@@michaelmiller5877 but it’s either with or without an MOS. Just because you see cocking serrations in the front doesn’t mean it has the MOS so be careful when buying one if you’re looking for that feature by the way the same price
I'm glad I've got both of them.
@@BoomStickTactical me too. I kinda like the G45 a little better. Might be the trigger. They are all so different. Great choice by you either way.
@@badkatrising3918 Understand. I have the G45 MOS...specifically purchased that one. I think I was merely commenting that the G45 is only Gen 5, regardless of whether or not is is MOS.
For me it’s the 45.
It's a great gun
I got my 45 and its a great gun the best of glocks
Definitely a great gun.
I winter carry my 19x but I have to dress around it. Summer you can almost forget it unless I figure out a different set up. As far as a shtf gun I’d choose this over my 17. I just consider it a simple battle ready pistol. I will say Glocks are outdated and over priced compared to a lot of the competition but the simplicity and ease of maintenance draws me to them for workhorse pistols. Also not to mention my bedside gun usually alternates between the 19x and a shadow systems mr920L
Is there a Glock to comes ready for a red dot and light from the factory?
Yes. The MOS series of Glocks have the cut.
@@BoomStickTactical Much appreciated my good Sir🫡 just subscribed.
Looking into buying a g45. What I’m taking from this is the only main difference is color.
They're great
I own both, the 19x is a better deal since the mags are higher capacity. Other than the mags, they are really the same gun. Both shoot great
It's hard to go wrong with a Glock. Thanks for watching John.
Cant wait to move to a Free State
Don't vote democrat if you do.
love that t-shirt
Thanks
Sig also kissed up to gov .on warranty,Glock said no deal on parts n scutch too bad ..
It was all about the money.
Do these weapons make the G19 obsolete?
Lol NO
No these are full size and 19 is compact
Some people like the configuration of the 19x more than the 19 but for me, even tho I love the 19x because of how it tracks a 19 fits my hands like a glove. Perfect size for most people
I’d say so, might as well get the two extra rounds 🤷🏻♂️
They are basically 19’s with a plus two mag extension.
Both 👍👍
Yep
ny gf has no questions! she loves watching ur videos
Thanks for watching to the both of you
The reason other mags don’t work in it is because that’s how it was designed. If adopted by the military they didn’t want the enemy to be able to use it against them.. only military was suppose to have 19X mags…
I think the 19x is a better choice than the sig that they got.
An official or military weapon is used to complete a task, and that often means life, so I think that part on the handle will help someone in the case of a quick tactical or combat magazine change, because it seems that our life depends on additional ammunition?
Practice makes perfect. That is why we train.
@@BoomStickTactical We agree 100 percent
There are two "different" 45 that come with night sights.
I replaced mine with XS DXT 2s
@@BoomStickTactical I finally got mine with Glock night sights.
And why is that 45 leaking oil…way too much lube
Personally I went with the 45
You didn't go wrong. Both are great guns.
Just put mugextension problem solved 😂
It's easy to get the 19x mags
Glock 47 is better and has MOS these are outdated, g47 has a Glock 17 grip just like the 19x and 45 but has a 17 length slide with a shorter dust cover so the frame is compatible with a 19.
So if you already have a 19 then buying a 47 means:
19 slide goes onto 47, makes Glock 45, 47 slide goes onto 19 makes Glock 48.
Now you essentially have a Glock 45, Glock 19, Glock 17 (g47) and a Glock 48
Actually the 19x is not a Gen 5 the Glock 45 is a Gen 5
19x is Moe Pebbles. The G45 makes it obsolete.
Rumor has it the “dangle” is to protect the magazine for getting part of a glove when there’s a magazine change. Since the military wear gloves.
That's certainly a possibility
For me I have one Glock and is the G19X steel sights out of the box takes all the glock mags from the previous version, trigger is better than old Generation and it shoots phenomenal out of all the Glock 19X is the way to go but that is just me
The 19x is a great gun
@@BoomStickTactical Yes it is 👍
I don't like the way the back sight looks on the G45 it looks like it would be on a toy gun. The lanyard piece on the bottom of the G19 at the back is absolute ugly, why would that be on a real firearm? I would definitely Dremal that down smoothly.
They're easily replaced
Ok they are not compact pistols the frame is full size
im so jelly 🥺
But why?
تو نجيك تبي خدمه يدويا ضروري منها
What are you talking about?
Time for a gen 6
I'm wondering what they do since Gaston is gone. Hope they don't go crazy
@@BoomStickTactical I honestly don’t think they will stray too far away in honor of him. And they have a very strong fan base so they’ll not send it in an uproar.
The 45 would be perfect if it didn’t have the front slide serrations. They’re not necessary, and just detract from the good looks…
The early Gen 5s didn't have them but people wanted them.
19x will get you more chics
They are great guns.
@@BoomStickTactical all around, the best..
Same gun different color
Very similar with just a few differences
@@BoomStickTacticalis there any internal differences?
@@RonnieTallud - yes. The Gen 5 guns like the G45 has the enhanced breach cut on the inside of the slide - hybrid guns like the 19X do not. The 19X has the maritime spring cups - the 45 has standard spring cups.
