Everyone nailed the level of cheese they were asked to provide. That takes talent in all honesty.
Schumacher didn't like batman, and he only knew of it from Adam West and later tim burton..... Which is why these films were piles of garbage. Studios just liked casting big names for anything high production because they thought it would draw in more people.
Funny how so many top tier actors of the 90s in this movie, yet the acting is so dam cheesy....

You can tell Uma Thurman was having the time of her life as Poison Ivy. She’s so campy and ridiculous, and she DEVOURS the scenery without hesitating. I want to play a role like that someday! :D
The funny thing is, with a serious and well written script, Arnold could've been a very intimidating Freeze. The ending of the movie proved that.
Absolutely. I forget the name of the animated batman movie with Batman & Robin and maybe even Batgirl but Mr. Freeze was the main villain. His cold psychopathic personality and intimidating presence in that animation is what this version of Mr. Freeze could have and should have been.

3:09 "You and Meatloaf..." The laundry service line is always a sure-fire laugh, but this part about Meatloaf is sooo under-rated. I'm not even sure most viewers caught it.
I've seen this one about a thousand times as a kid. 20 years later I'm just now noticing the Riddler and Two Face's outfits from the previous film are hanging up in the "criminal property locker" in this scene.

I actually love this movie. Aesthetically pleasing and inadvertently reminiscent of the campy tone of the older Batman TV shows while hinting at the more serious tone of the future ones. Love it for what it is not for what you want it to be....it is also hilarious 😂

@Sonic Hedgehog People dressing up in costumes and fighting crime is an inherently cool thing. Doesn't mean it's not a little silly, or that it can't be campy.
There is a certain historicity to it, where you have warriors of ancient times dressing as animals for war and ceremony. It's just something cool and humans have been dressing up in this kind of symbolism for millennia

I absolutely love this movie. Over the top acting, forced, corny, cheesy, whimsical, trying to be edgy and cool but just ends up looking ridiculous, it's so fun, fast paced and comedic, and it gives me so much serotonin I just love it so much.
Only time when Mr Freeze is more muscular than Bane.
I always liked the fact that in the criminal property locker room you see Two Face and Riddler's outfits from Batman Forever sitting there

This movie tried to connect to the silly, but very entertaining 60'ies Batman series.

Well, Batman Returns (1992) was great and Batman (1989) was even better. However, Batman Forever was bad and Batman and Robin was not just the worst Batman movie ever but also one of the worst movies ever made in general.

Tommy Lee Jones was ehhh as Two Face and Jim Carrey was ridiculous at times as the Riddler..but they were still better villains than this shit in Batman and Robin. 😂 And Val Kilmer was a much better Batman than George Clooney was. Even Robin was decent in Batman Forever..he was insufferable in this movie though..like the rest of the cast.

Bane's supposed to be smart and a master tactician too though. In the comics he was one of the few to figure out Batman's identity on his own. If you combined this one and Hardy's one, that would be a pretty accurate Bane. He's supposed to be both super smart and also super buff jacked up on Venom.
