What resources did you use to learn? I mean can you share the pages or apps or books you used? Thanks! Awesome job! I'm just starting and I feel so difficult to follow a music sheet and play at the same time. I see that you don't read a music sheet while you play, right? Thanks for your reply in advance! 😊
Unlike a lot of similar videos it was tellable that you were a real beginner, not because you were bad but because there were some minor issues in some pieces. But this is natural and how it should be! We learn by repetition and muscle memory. It was evident you worked hard on your pieces. It’s great that you record your progress like this to see how far you have come. I’ve always loved practising and learning new songs 😊. And yes sometimes you have to switch it off and walk away haha! I hope your progress is going well!
There's a love of music evident throughout this!! It's how we deal with the frustrating moments which potentially enables us to learn tough things like piano. I agree with the person who said you'll get better audio results if you record directly from your piano's "line out" outputs. You have both great perseverance and great tastes in music!!
Hey, quick suggestion. to clean up your arpeggios n such I highsly suggest taking a look at some of hanons excercises, they really help a lot with smoothening out things like arpeggios a dnd are a fantastic way to warm up. he also has some fun scale excercises that end with really fun cadences. They are hands together all the way, but you can take it at whatever speed you want. it also includes the fingering for each scale and before long those fingers will become intuitive! great work so far!
Thanks for sharing this. It’s extremely motivational! 😊 I’m just starting out on my self learning piano journey. A lot of the songs you play are ones that I was planning to learn, but I dismissed them because I thought they’d be too hard at my level. You’ve shown me that perhaps they’re not with a lot of practice and determination 🙂 Do you have a link to the version of Just The Two of Us that you used? I hope we get see more of your progress soon? 😊
So happy to hear that! Here’s the link to my 1 year of progress (it has polished versions of all the pieces that I learned), and Just the Two of Us starts at 9:44. th-cam.com/video/FsPmKMB1eG8/w-d-xo.html I do want to mention that I’m realizing now that learning harder pieces right away resulted in a very tight technique. Lots of piano teachers commented on my poor technique on that video, and sounds like starting to learn difficult pieces was likely the cause of that. When you think too much about what note to play at what time instead of doing it on autopilot , you get tense, and then you get used to playing with tension. I’m now learning easier pieces than I did last year in order to obtain a more relaxed technique.
I really wish i had the time to fully dedicate myself on learning to play the piano once its been my dream for soo long. But I'm in law school and it takes so much of my time 😢
Thank-you for sharing. I have been trying to learn Ave Maria (for-ever). Ever since 2016, although only well enough to play it with the music to read. Now I have someone else to compare their learning speed with mine. I think I might try Fur Else to see if I can master it like you in only 84 days. How many hours a day are you practicing?
@@rosee784 just from my normal practice. I started out identifying every single note and then after a few months I started seeing intervals between them and now I only need to know one note and I can figure out the rest by seeing how many spaces are in between.
I’m not sure if you are just asking her or if you would like to learn, but generally sight reading is learnt at the same speed as the piano in a usual piano lesson environment. Usually peoples hands come together slightly before the sight reading but the best way to learn piano and sight reading is start easy and gradually build up. Sight reading multiple octaves and semi demi quavers is too daunting for a beginner but by the time you are playing pieces that require them, it’s a natural extension to what you learnt already 🙂
The pieces that you are trying to learn, do not help you in my opinion. They only slow your learning down. There are so many easier and beautiful pieces for you to learn out there, yet you jump right on to the advanced ones... Once you can say with confidence that the begginer pieces are to easy for you, and that you can sight read them without problem, only then you should up the bar. p.s.- i am sorry if i was too blunt, i am only trying to help. You clearely have talent and the ear to learn piano, but you lack guidance. Oh and dont forget about the scales (as i told you in other comment). They do reaally help. (and i never see you practice them :p)
0:25 - Havana
1:24 - Fur Elise
3:27 - Toxic
5:54 - Sway
6:30 - Just the Two of Us
8:42 - Englishman in New York
10:27 - Pink Panther
Was this all the songs you learned in your first year?

Great job! I’d really recommend a pedal to help connect those left hand leaps
Very good! Can’t wait to see what pieces you’ll learn in 2023

Muchas felicidades! Are you using sustain pedal already?

@@lewis-op5ui Sorry, I don't speak English well
Te puedo recomendar algo ?
How long did it take you to learn to read the music?
Hey, it took me 6 months, but even now at 1,5 years I’m still kinda slow at reading.
@@Zhenyamarushko good to know! Did you do any special exercises or was it just from your normal practice?
