My own first piece
มุมมอง 7Kปีที่แล้ว
I told myself that in order to feel satisfied with my piano progress in 2023 I had to come up with my own piece, and I did it. I finished composing this on December 30th and was polishing my performance until today. I cannot express enough how many issues I have with this piece: the performance itself, same chord progression all throughout the song (which might seem kinda boring), I could have ...

С днем рождения, папуля! This is my first time recording with a pedal. To me, my pedaling sounds a little off, and I struggle to figure out whether it's the quality of the recording or if I am using the pedal incorrectly. Any feedback would be appreciated:)
How the pieces that I learned sounded before and after months of practicing

I recently posted a video of my one year of piano progress (th-cam.com/video/FsPmKMB1eG8/w-d-xo.html), and I thought that some of you might be interested in how the versions of the pieces that I posted developed over months of practice. So here is a detailed progress of most of the pieces that I learned in 2022. Hope some of you find this relatable :)
1 year of piano progress (400 hours, self-taught)
มุมมอง 854Kปีที่แล้ว
Here’s my one year of piano progress. When learning, I didn’t really use any books (but I definitely should have and I practice with Hanon now), but I watched lots of TH-cam videos. I studied a 3-hour music theory course by Marcs Piano where it taught all kinds of different chords, scales, and some arpeggios I believe, and I practiced them all. I also watched beginner practice videos by Pianote...
watching your progress made me realize I would be a master after 2 years, I catched on piano so fast by just ear no music theory, thank you for giving me motivation to play more, I always would laid it off because with small hands I never could reach higher octaves from thumb further it made me annoyed :D having adhd also makes u lose interest fast and procrastinate with other things :P now I go play
nice! start learning to use the pedals now!
Good worķkk
Niceeeeeeee
Nicèeeeee, different pieces than I chose but nice
Well done Girl! <3 And yes, you'll love the pedal :)
Just starting out my first year. Started in January 2nd 2025, with exercises, methods and Prelude No. 01 in C Major by Bach! Wish me luck !
You’ve got nice titties.
You're doing well... What an achievement in a very short span of time. You're gifted 👍💯 Don't ever stop... Move on 🤗❤️From Philippines 🥂
You definitely have a talent! Thank you for sharing your experience
I started self teaching myself piano 4 years ago and I’ve never looked back. Cool to see that other people are as well!
hiii! ive been playing piano for 6 years now (not self taught i go to music school) and my biggest tip is to pretend your holding an apple, or a ball the size of an apple, in your hand when playing. Another tip is to play with your fingertips not fingers. Also when youre playing nocturne op.9 No2 make sure your left hand is quieter than your right. In most songs the left hand is quieter as the right hand plays melody. I know im pretty late (a year 💀💀) but youre doing great, probably even better now as its been a year!
your progress is very impressive, congratulations!
I have a P45 too. I want to start learning by myself, what method you could recommend me, I am a man of 32, so Its more difficult to learn. Thanks
good work is inspiring
👏🏾
The main thing is whether you enjoyed yourself, but your sense of timing is a bit off.
I’m. It understanding how you just know chords ?? But no experience on the piano
I just discovered you through the 1 year of piano 400 hrs video! you are very good and more for self thought (pardon my English) keep going (you don't need to tell me) you will blow my mind even more. it's so cool to see the progress on a real person channel on TH-cam! Ciao!
You have really progressed ! If you had to keep only one rule in your learning, beyond the position of your hands and your body, the selection of your pieces, the listening work, the technical exercises, etc... Some passages still cause you difficulties and it is totally normal, it is the sign that the piece is still at too high a tempo. The most important thing in your learning, and even when you have been playing the piano for 20 years, is to master your pieces in a low tempo before increasing the speed of execution, otherwise you will drag difficulties and approximations of playing, or worse, develop bad habits. It is much better to master a piece well than to play 5 in an approximate way. Taking your time is gaining years of progress compared to someone who does not do that, many pros have gone too fast in their learning and this is felt in their listening. Play slowly, you will see that your level of play will explode, you will be more precise in the rhythm, in the interpretation and in the execution of your piece because you will gain in fluidity of movement... Good continuation
Very rewarding to watch you advance so quickly, and all by yourself. Intelligent people can learn an instrument differently by themselves that if taught by another. Sometimes this learning in solitude can yield innovative and creative results. I took about 2 years of lessons, then on my own for the last 55 years. We share the exploration but travel on our own trails.
Chopin in 12 months. Well done 👏 🎉
You’re playing would flow a lot better if you used the sustain pedal, well done for sticking with it.
I was singing The Phantom... for your playing! 400 hours in one year is quite a lot. I suppose you work or study, too, and have other things in your life. This video is about two years old now. How is the situation now? While your timing is not precise on this video, your progress is still remarkable.
I enjoyed watching your journey! Curious how you taught yourself the first few songs? Through an app or how do you memorise it? I am just starting off myself :) xx
I'm in my 30 and still in doubt if I should start to learn the piano and your videos it's exactly what I was looking for: demonstration of the progress through years. It's 2025 and I'm looking forward to the 3rd year results!
Which piano is it please
Love how you went from Bizen Habanera to Cartoon Spider Man :D
Congrats! I'm just starting to learn and document my journey now, so this was great to watch :)
Wow muy bien . A mi . mi año de progreso fue de tocar mi primera pieza fur elise hasta ahora 5 de enero teniendo 14 años, 4 horas de practica al dia, maple leaf rag
loved that pinkpanther melody that you played

you have become very good you have improved a lot. I watch a TH-camr named Ray Luna. I think his learning method is the best, I improved a lot with him. Good luck in the future and perseverance. God bless you
You are going great!! I have one recommendation for practice. Try to start playing without seeing the piano. (I am also self taught pianist, almost 13 years on it ;). With your determination I know you're going to master the piano, no matter what a studied pianist can tell you!
Great job!! I'm doing the same hopefully I progress well <3
all i do is watch youtube videos, ive been playing for a month and im just belowish were you were and i wanna know what you did to get as good as you got?
we need a gofund me to get this girl an acoustic upright thx for sharing
tchaikovsky had some underrated hits, nice performance
impressive really, as an adult our brains are wired differently than how we were as kids, i enjoyed watching you become more relaxed over time and more comfortable, overall posture improved at the keys (those wrist, lol, my teacher use to always harp on me about my limp wrist and now i thank her for that 25 some years ago). was very stiff and choppy at the beginning but that is to be expected, we didnt see it all on here but somewhere between the 4-6 month mark that magic began to happen, it started to click more, the phrasing starts to come together, more of a "oneness" to the pieces being performed, but what we got a sneak peak of a was a good representation of the time jumps between that happening. & it just goes to show a little discipline can get you where you need to be and then some. cheers & thanks for sharing.
How long did you study each day and also did you buy any books or anything or mainly just use stuff on the internet? Also the song is really good btw.
Bravaaaaaaa! Same boat here, may be picking up the piano I got for my daughter ^^'
I Just started 2 days ago.... So i will film it now... Thanks for Sharing
I have a piano arriving on Monday. I wonder if I can make progress as quickly as you seem to have done? Time to find out…
I think it sounds beautiful. I have just bought a piano and I am going to learn to play. I have never had any lessons, so it will be a journey, im sure! I watched your progress video and it is truly inspiring. May i ask if you were a complete beginner like me? If you were could you give me any tips on how you learned, practice obviously, but it's more along the lines of which sources did you find the most helpful. Happy New Year to you, and many more of them.
this vid made me wanna play the damn thing lol
got any budget recommendation for beginner keyboard
congratulations on 4k subs
I'm learning piano too and hope to get as good as you at some point. Keep up the good work!
My 2025 resolution is to (re)learn the piano. I've been playing Trumpet since 2016 so I know how to read sheet music and I took a "hobby" in High School and learned the Piano notes layout before March 2020
great job!!! I play the piano, and it's amazing how you can keep on through a whole year! Amazing job!
