@@jopvandermeer8887 lol tbf my parents didn't know that i'm actually great at playing the piano until like 4 months ago. even i didn't know i was actually quite good at it until my friends asked me to play in a museum lobby. it's because i usually only play for myself. that might be why eden's dad didn't know.
As a pianist for 12 years (I’m also 16), you’re ability to pick up piano so quickly is astonishing. You’re going to be great if you keep your passion growing. I recommend you experiment writing your own music and making your own style, that’s what got me from “ok” to “this is the world of music.” I believe you can do great things with piano. Keep it going!
12 years!! Damn! I can't wait to be able to say I've played piano for that long. Thank you so much! I have definitely wanted to start writing music for a long time but I honestly feel like I'm lacking the music theory knowledge to do so :/ not sure if you will see this reply but do you have any tips for getting into writing music? It would be so much appreciated!!
@@edenschannel101 writing music is something I’ve never been great at, and I haven’t been doing it for very long, but I don’t think music theory stands in the way of that very much. I know quite a bit of theory and it still can’t help me write good music, you kind of just figure that out. If you’re writing for piano, then pretty much any software works well, I recommend Musescore (it’s also free). Another thing I didn’t mention before is how important it is you play for people. How you’ve developed your channel to put things to show for your work is incredibly important and I can’t say I’ve done enough public performance. It’s really what I think drives a passion for music, otherwise you do a lot of work and there’s nothing to show for it. I don’t know if you’ll ever see this either, but I’m excited for the eventual self-written content. Good luck!
As a 29year old who just picked up the piano and learnt to play Fur Elise in a month, You've inspired me to keep going and keep learning more pieces! you're incredible. Well done! Looking forward to more videos of your progress!
Haha that is so awesome! I'm so excited to hear you've decided to continue learning piano ( the best instrument on the planet in my opinion🤣 ) good luck and thank you so much!
As a fellow self-taught piano player who’s been at it for just over a year as well, it’s really nice to see someone go through the same experiences as I had (from a janky old keyboard to getting used to a new digital piano and playing all of the same songs. Very well done!
Hahaha. Me and that janky old keyboard have some good memories🤣 it's finally going to good use and I'm giving it to my younger cousin who was inspired by my video! Happy belated 1 year of piano! Thanks so much for writing a comment that made me smile :)))
As a self taught pianist who started about 3 months ago (and unfortunately doesn't have the best setup to practice, I hope I can upgrade it soon), this is very inspiring ! I know the struggles of learning by yourself but at the end of the day, my love for the instrument always motivate me to strive for more :') You made amazing progress, I look forward to see more of your piano journey !
It's definitely not easy playing with a not so great set up. The first few months on that keyboard, it was so hard to stay motivated. Seeing other people with Yamahas and Kawaiis etc and me on an old janky keyboard. However, my love for piano was greater and so I powered through! I truly hope you continue to grow in piano. I'm rooting for you!!! I will definitely continue to post my progress!! I'm looking to start posting more often soon!!
@@Bearical That depends on the person tbf. I started to learn the piano on a keyboard like this that wobbled like there was an earthquake happening when I was playing. Didn't have any pedals either. After about a year I started to lose motivation and interest in playing piano because it was so unmotivating. Looking for music, and then finding an amazing sounding piece, only for it to sound horrible after you learnt to play it because of the equipment. I had the chance to play on an actual piano and I loved it. When we got a piano at home, I couldn't stop playing, and still can't after 10 years of doing so.
@@trapiz9356 i have a 5 octaves keyboard with pedal and its really enjoyable to play, but when i had no pedal it was horrible, i am looking foward to buy a keyboard with 7 octaves or a... Piano

Your sister did her part in your progression by training your ability to focus, you should thanks her for that :) And really good job, keep uploading your progress!
Hey I have some pieces you can practice for sight reading: -Minuet in G major -Minuet in G minor C.Petzold -Für Elise As for ones you can learn: -Little prelude no.2 in c minor BWV 934 -Minuet in b minor(French suite no.3 BWV 814) also a theme for tetris -prelude in c minor from the 1st WTC by Bach -the other two movements of Mozarts C major sonata Those are my recommendations, if you like them you can learn them.
Oh my gosh thank you so much! Minuet in B minor sounds great!! I'll try learn that for sure!! I don't practise my sight-reading nearly as much as i should.
@@edenschannel101 no problem! The B minor minuet is really fun, especially the second half. I recommend yoh listen to Glenn Goulds version to get the ultimate tetris experience !
Thank you!! And I've kind of got back into piano. I was playing for about 7 hours a week back in February before I went away on holiday. I think I've hit the intermediate stage stump and so I find it kind of hard to stay motivated to play for more than an hour every few days 😅
You have some innate talent for the instrument, but it's the hard work you put in that made the immense progress you've made possible. Well done! Keep going!
Thank you so much!! I appreciate this comment so much. People only see the final product but it definitely took hours and hours of struggle to get to this point.
As a 50-year-old who just finished her 1st year of piano lessons, you are doing well. I started right off with written music, having a teacher, and struggle with memorizing. I am beginning to read music much better. I was definitely encouraged to jump in to reading music and learning to read it well, because as you said, there is limited growth if you can't read music. You are doing VERY well and clearly have a gift for music. I have been told that as well, but still feel it is a struggle. I practice at least an hour a day too!
Thank you so much! Reading is definitely so important! Its such a shame i didn't prioritise it until recently. Good luck in your piano journey! I wish you every success!!
Thank you so much! This is the realest piano journey I've ever seen. Starting from playing the poor keyboard on the bed, having breaks, being bored, sis in the background etc. I love it.
I really love that you added personal notes in the right margin. As an adult contemplating taking up piano it's really encouraging to see how the mind of someone in their youth (the most neuroplastic stage of life) works in the learning process in regards to memory, boredom, etc. It helps me to feel like, hey ok, maybe my memory won't be so dusty to cause me great difficulty in learning this if this young person forgot the name of their favorite childhood movie. (Just so it's not misconstrued, I mean this as a compliment.) Thank you! :*)
As someone who's studying Psychology, this was such an awesome and interesting comment to read!! I've never quite thought about it in that way. It's so interesting that I can't remember the film as the song is incredibly close to my heart and I can almost see the movie in my mind's eye when I play or listen to it! I strongly encourage you to pick up piano! I've fallen in love with it. If i'm being transparent, I probably enjoy listening to it more than I do playing it🤣 I probably spend about 70% of my piano time just listening to videos of other people play. I genuinely love the instrument and deeply appreciate other musicians for the nuances they bring to pieces. Writing this reply made me smile a lot, so thanks! P.s thanks so much! I was worried the comments i was writing next to the videos were way too wordy and personal and borderline annoying😅
I'm a 33 year old and actually bought my first keyboard yesterday. Weeks and weeks I've been watching youtube clips and these clips pushed me over the edge to just start with learning to play keyboard
Thats awesome!!! Welcome to the world of piano! I truly hope you love it as much as I do( or more 😉 )!! I'd love to hear about how you're finding it :))
No waaaaaay. You have natural talent!!!! I've been playing piano for 10 years (probably 7 of them self taught) and I NEVER made as much progress as you!!!!! Nice!!
I recently began writing music everyday,,,and this inspires me cause it’s not always easy-but the results and the skill development makes it so worth it
I think it's serendipitous that you found something that you didn't expect to love, especially piano. I'm currently on my piano journey, heading to a 3rd month. Although I had started out self taught, my school offers a piano course, so naturally I had taken that. I think it's incredible and very honorable that you stuck with piano, and I wish you the utter best when it comes to musicality.
Thank you so much🥲 I'm so happy I stumbled upon the piano that one day and spontaneously decided to take it out despite my family's eye rolls🤣 Congrats on 3 months!! 90 days of commitment ain't easy. I remember month 2-4 specifically because would take me HOURS to learn tiny sections of songs😭 It's awesome your school offers a piano course! I'm not even allowed to use my schools piano during school hours :/ I got kicked out the last time🤣 I wish you every piano success in the years to come 💪
Your progress is actually impressive, most people are barely even able to play ode to joy properly in one month, and you did way better. Keep practicing!
I learnt completely using TH-cam and musescore tbh. I found songs on TH-cam and musescore and learnt them. I didn't really have a method. If I ever got stuck on anything I would just ask TH-cam :)
This is so inspiring. I’ve been playing guitar for years, but it’s never been me. I played it because of my dad and brother, and I knew I wanted to play music. I’ve only learn 1 full song on guitar. I recently got a keyboard from my dad, after we talked about how I just feel no motivation with guitar. Only this week have I actually begun to learn, and I’m quite bad, but I’m finding it so much more fun, easier, and far less painful than guitar
That's so awesome! I've tried guitar in the past and I remember my fingertips would hurt so much 😅😅 good luck in your piano journey! I truly hope you fall in love with piano.
Bro you cannot understand how much I appreciate this. I was looking for motivation to spark my love of piano from years ago and this has finally triggered it. ❤❤
Well this is definitely guilt tripping me into practicing more. I kind of half assed my self learning the first year and would only play about 2-3 times a week. Your progress is pretty impressive.
Thanks so much!! Honestly that has been me for the past year. Tomorrow marks the completion of my second year of piano and I've barely played this year. Mostly due to exams, moving, university etc. but I've definitely been lazy about it. Here's to a more productive piano year for the both of us🤣🥂🥂
Smart, very quick progress! So many people learn stuff they are told they should play rather than the stuff they enjoy. Just goes to show what you can achieve when you have a passion for it.
Thanks so much🥲🥲 honestly it's hard because only now I'm starting to lose motivation. I had a long break due to exams and now I'm finding it hard to get back into piano🥲
You made more progress in 4 months than I made in 3 years with a good teacher... I still struggle to learn a single piece in 6 months and still making mistakes
I noticed she always walks across my piano whenever I play Nocturne in E Flat Major or C Sharp Minor. I couldn't tell if it was because she loved or hated it😅 now she sits on my piano or on my lap and watches as I play!! I love her company. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!! It really helps with getting my channel out there!!
Hey these are literally all of the first songs I ever learned on the piano! It’s fascinating to see how as humans we learn very differently from one another and with different rhythms, and it’s also cool to see the inner talent that it’s clear that you have, keep up the great work!
Haha no way!! I feel like i selected an array of random and vastly different pieces. I definitely agree with the part about different learning styles! Although i would love to eventually get a teacher, I love the freedom and less rigid structure being self taught brings (don't get me wrong, I think having a teacher is super beneficial, too). Thank you so much!!
I've been binging all night on piano progression vids and yours absolutely wowed me! You're a natural! Such an inspiring journey and your song choices are some of my favourites too. I'm self taught too but left my piano back home 10 years ago and fear Ive probably forgotten everything now. I really suffer with memory so if I don't keep doing something, its gone. Your video has really encouraged me to get back in the saddle though, loved every minute watching. Thanks and I hope you're still loving it.
Thank you!! I'm glad we've both got great taste in music🤣🤣 I truly hope you do get back into piano. It's a beautiful instrument. I hate practising sometimes and it often feels like a chore. But every now and again I'm reminded of why it's just so worth it.
i am self taught pianist just like you. its been two years and i have improved a lot. i stopped playing because i had to focus on my studies but this is making me more inspired to start again and also learn new pieces.
I unfortunately am probably gonna have to stop playing very soon because I'm moving away and won't be able to take my piano. Hoping my new university has a piano they will allow me to play :/ I do hope you get back into piano again!
Insane progress for a total beginner. When I started piano my mom forced me to play a level 3 RCM piece, and I learned to read sheet music by her dictating the notes😢. Also, it’s total insanity to play those nocturnes! To play them well is impossible for 99% of beginners, but even hitting the notes is crazy. I’ve been playing for 4 years and am just at the level of those, and still sometimes miss notes even with huge experience in jumps already, and several months worth of learning op 9 no 2
It's really cool your mum was involved in teaching you to read sheet music🤣🤣 My mum did Grade 5 piano in high-school and has given me a lot of her exam pieces and repertoire. It will take me a looong time to perfect my favourite nocturnes. I've decided to give them a rest for a few months so I can return to them when I can hopefully play a bit better. Thank you for watching and commenting!!
@@edenschannel101 your progress will go leaps bounds with a great teacher, for most people it would take more then a year to touch that level 1 piece, the prodigies on TH-cam are a tiny minority! My mom forced me to learn and I hated it bc of that, until i became better then her(she was self taught from 16) and I finally began loving piano like you do now. Sometimes I wonder where I would be if I didn’t go weeks without practicing in the early stages😂(except for before the lesson ofc)
For sure. A teacher is pretty much imperative in my opinion. I hope to get one later this year after my exams when I'm not so busy. For now I've gotta go solo. I may be going away from home for university so I've probably got to wait till then to hunt for a good one. I think one of the reasons why I enjoy piano is also because I've become better than my mum🤣 she's better at reading I'll give her that but didn't have much freedom with the pieces she learnt ( this was back in the 90s ) as teachers were a lot more conservative and so she didn't practice much.
I actually love this video! As someone who saving up for my first electric piano and wanting to teach my self to play piano some day, this is incredibly inspiring and i also see it as a helpful guide.
Thank you so much, and I wich you so much good luck!! I hope you yet to learn to play piano very soon. If it helps, there are digital pianos on ebay for very cheap prices! I bought my piano from ebay from parents of a little girl who got bored of piano and never used it. It cost me ⅓ of retail price.
Even from the beginning you are so talented. This has inspired me even more to learn the piano. Growing up we didnt have the funds or time to invest in a piano but now that I am 25 nothing will stop me from learning.
This video is a real inspiration. I just started teaching myself piano this month, and this gives me hope that I will improve in the future. I'm looking forward to seeing your growth as well. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! These comments are honestly the best and make me fall in love with the piano community even more! Good luck with your piano journey! I believe in you. The first few months are hard as you are not quite sure if you are doing anything right, but soon you master your routine! I genuinely miss my early beginner days 🤣 I look back and miss the motivation I had back then🤣 thanks so much for commenting and it would mean a lot if you stuck around for my future progress! I would love to hear back from you in the near future about where you're at in piano!
@piano&eden I appreciate the words! I was actually thinking about filming my journey and making my own TH-cam channel, and I guess this confirms my choice, haha.
I'm glad this video started blowing up. It's amazing to see your progress over the months and now people can see and appreciate it too. I hope that you can continue your dream.
@piano&eden I only saw it yesterday when it had around 100k views but I went and checked your previous videos and saw how good this one did. Still glad that you're being recognised even though its been a year or so though lol
Ohhh haha. Yeah, I was super surprised when I woke up and saw that this video started to massively grow in views!! It's definitely weird considering most of my videos don't get a lot of views 😅 Thanks again!!!
I’m learning by myself almost two months ago . The struggle is real 😅 and I cry every time I finish a song . I love the piano music and I hope in a year be as good as you are 😊
Aww, you're so sweet! I remember when I was at 2 months. It feels like centuries ago now🤣 I miss the early days. I think its great you make it to the end of songs. I don't usually make it beyond halfway😅 Thanks so much and I wish you every piano success!
Hi, Im a 27 years old who dream to play piano since i was a kid. Only recently bought a keyboard but as beginner to learn alone is tough and easily got frustrated. I saw your video and got inspired. And spend some hours practicing everyday. I never able to play right and left hand together. Now I finally able to play Gymnopedia No.1 Erik Satie and Yesterday by beatles. So there is hope to improve to anyone who just started the journey 😊
That's so awesome!!I'm so happy my videos inspired you :)) Playing hands together is definitely tricky and I still struggle with this every now and again. You have a great taste in songs! Good luck!!!!
I have to say, I am impressed. I am almost at my one month point and I am not even close to your 1 month... I also have lessons once a week! But then I read that you had a least 1 year of lessons in the past, so you have a good amount of basics and core information. But, over all, hell of a good job!
Yess! I definitely remember my hands automatically knowing what to do ( for the most part ) in the first month of piano having already played before. It wasn't until month 2 where I actually had to start really putting in work😅 it's awesome you have lessons once a week! I hope to be able to have lessons again one day once I have more time. Thank you so much for your kind words and for commenting!
The Alessandra Celletti piece at the end with the Coraline dreamlike flair is mesmerizing! Very cool! I am thinking of starting to learn piano as I have always loved music, and to see you skip around and learn what you enjoy and make good progress is really encouraging.
I love it too! I haven't played it in a while; I might come back to it. Haha I'm definitely not good at sticking to one thing at a time so I love piano for the reason that I don't HAVE to follow a structure to have fun. Definitely do pick up piano (or any instrument). It gives you such a different outlook on life. My approach to and perception of music will never be the same again.
wow! I am very impressed with the way how you were disciplined with playing it. The way that you played it regularly brought wonderful results to you!! so good!!
i am just a beginner and i dont know how to read notes…i dont know where to put my hands and i dont know where to start. you are amazing and this is inspiring😊
Thanks so much! Welcome to the amazing instrument of piano! You've made a great choice! There are so many TH-cam videos out there which can help you learn the basics! That's how I learnt the basics! You've got this!!
Take it from someone who has been on this planet a while. It doesn’t matter what it is - it could be skateboarding or programming or an instrument - if you had the discipline to learn all on your own and stick with it, you have everything it takes to do and learn anything there is in life. Remind yourself how you proved that to yourself because people have a way of not reminding you. It’s awesome to see.
I've read a lot of comments and I think this is probably the most meaningful one I've ever read. I can't even describe how much of a genuine comment this is. Something about this comment really makes me smile. Thank you so much for leaving such kind words for a stranger🥲
I highly doubt thats true🤣 but thanks so much for the compliment and a huge thanks for watching and commenting!! It really does help get my channel out there!
I really enjoyed watching this clip of your journey! I just started playing a month ago. I look forward to where I will be in a year. At 50 years old I am enjoying the process of learning like never before. Well done.
You've done extremely well for one year. A tip I think you should know is that for a lot of pieces, especially Chopin and Satie, it's better to give your own "touch" to the piece, staying at the same tempo throughout with the same volume sounds mechanical rather than organic. Good luck on your journey :)
Thank you so much!!! I definitely struggle with playing Chopin😅 the dynamics and timing is quite tricky. I don't think I've got that musical maturity quite yet to interpret pieces and then convey nuance and emotion. Thank you for commenting !! I truly appreciate the advice I receive from commenters and they are most helpful!
Thank God you finally ended up with a proper piano console and equipment! If you had the pedal and proper seating position from the beginning, I can't imagine how much better you would have been by now. I'll see you in another year from now to see how much you've improved!
I never thought about that🤔 now that you mention it you're definitely right. My posture would have been so much better if I had those first 8 months on a proper piano. It's a shame but I look forward to the next year of piano where I hope to make more improvement!! Thank you so much for your kind words!!
I relate to the way you learn from memory and get bored of pieces so much, your experience feels so much like mine (also about a year in)! Your progress is incredible ! My cat also looks just like yours it’s crazy hahahah :) wishing you the best
Thank you so much! Feels like we're the same people in alternate universes hahaha. Yup I have still not gotten over the habit of getting bored of pieces half way through 😭😭😭 I'm working on it🤣
I have been familiar with the piano for about 5 years, but still sadly only know how to play half of one huge song. I love the piano as it makes me so happy to play, but I give up to easily when I am learning a new song. This is very encouraging to me.😄👍
I feel this🤣 I'm honestly surprised I stuck with piano because I typically go through interests super quickly and then get bored. I wish you good luck and am so happy to have encouraged you!! I'm curious to know what the huge song is?
Thank you so much! I can't wait to be able to play I've been playing for six years! I'm so excited to be able to play some of my favourite pieces such as Claire de Lune by then🥲
As the youngest of four who is the ONLY ONE who can't play the piano, I find comfort in this video. All my older siblings are GOOD at the instrument except me, and sometimes I look back and regret the days I told myself to stop taking those lessons. If I could go back in time, I'd slap my younger self for not practicing harder and actually liking piano. This time around, I'll definitely learn. This showed me it's not too late to try again
Kudos to your progression! Super nice video! I've alwways LOVED piano, but now you inspired to take my skills further! Thanks for sharing. Super beautiful!
This was very inspiring, I just started learning Piano about 3 months ago, so far I've learned 2 full easy songs from youtube. My goal is to just have fun while playing!
Hell yeah man, I started playing guitar a few months ago and I tried simply guitar which had songs on it that I would never think about playing on it. Once I started actually reading musical tabs for guitar for songs I enjoyed I loved it. Now I can play songs that I love and enjoy listening too, there’s no better feeling. 🤟🏻
You should be rightfully proud of your progress! I'm especially impressed with your renditions of Chopin - I've been playing casually for years, but never had the courage to try one of his pieces! Well done!
Watching your progress gives me hope and ambition and inspiration. I started a couple years ago as an adult learner of music with a ukulele and recently had a massive change in my life having now moved to the other side of the world from the UK to HK and find myself with a bunch of time. So I bought myself a starter keyboard and started a slow process of learning piano. I’m learning through synthesia but a few friends have advised not to and I would find it much more rewarding going through reading music sheets the traditional way. I’m on week one. Well done on your progress. Amazingly hard work
Omg that's amazing! And I hope your new life is treating you well. Synthesia is tempting although I would always recommend learning to read sheetmusic (if you want to continue learning piano in the long run). I feel like synthesia is OK for messing around on piano but I do honestly think learning sheet music is worthwhile. Particularly as you advance. Learning to play Fantasie Impromptu using synthesia, for example, sounds treacherous 😅 I wish you so much good luck! Learning piano is so rewarding and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Yea I’m sort of self taught too I started plaguing this past January and I’ve loved it ever since you’re doing a phenomenal job at it I hope you’ll continue to pursue this
Woaw, I'm really impressed. This is amazing! I learn piano by myself too, I've been playing for a long time now, but there's some pieces you learned in 1 year that i can't play myself! I was really amazed, you improved a lot in 1 year! And the songs you learned were also some of my favorite songs to play!
Thank you!! That's awesome! I remember that exact excitement of getting a new piano. Good luck!!! I hope you fall in love with piano as much ( or more😉 ) as I have.
Oh my god your experience is exactly like mine! Although I’m a bit further along it’s reassuring to see my difficulties reflected in someone else. My biggest problem is moving on to new pieces like everyday but I’m glad I read music from the start
Im Very impressed how on week 1 youre already playing this piece! It's harder for beginners, especially 1 week beginners, so youre really amazing! Also love how you managed to. get so far during 1 year! keep it up
Amazing !!!!!!!!!!! You should be so proud of yourself !!!!! That little boy in the yellow shirt is hysterical ha ha ha ! ❤you also need to give yourself more credit. You have a gift that came naturally and your learning your new abilities ! I’m stunned at how quickly you learned these songs!
Thank you so much!!! That genuinely means so much!! especially now since ive felt unmotivated to play piano. also, what boy in a yellow shirt🤣😅 unless you mean those dancing characters 😂😂
I'm 24 just started learning piano, although playing from last 4 years, but it was very irregular. Got inspiration from you hope I'll also play my favourite pieces someday.
I have been recently given a keyboard and my fav thing to play (learning a bit every day) is great balls of fire. I can’t wait to play it half as good as you. Thanks for showing what consistency will make
That's so awesome!! I definitely remember great balls of fire being SO fun to play! I couldn't play it well at all so I'm looking forward to you being able to play double as good as me🤣
this is very inspiring as an adult myself (25) i was on and off when it came to guitar and piano but recently wanted to really teach myself properly and seeing u do this gives me so much hope thank you
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear this inspired you to learn piano properly!! I love these type of comments! I hope to hear more of your piano progress!!
Very inspiring!! I'm also self taught and couldn't discipline myself to actually finish learning any piece of music but one. Also had my sister disturb me alot so I know your struggles. I eventually had to stop playing the piano for about 3 years due to life circumstances💀 But I will be getting a piano this year and really looking forward to practicing again from zero💦💦
Glad to hear I'm not the only one😩😩 I also may have to take a break from piano soon unfortunately. I'm going to university soon and don't know if I will be able to take it with me. Good luck on your piano journey! I know you will pick it up again quickly! Thank you so much for watching :))
Definitely keep your left hand more “rounded”. Your right looks great. A rounded left hand will allow you to control the bass of most pieces and it helps with the dynamics(especially Chopin pieces)
Thanks for the tip!! I definitely hear this a lot😅. I can see that my left hand is quite flat when I play a lot of pieces. But in pieces like Nocturne in C sharp minor i feel like my left hand has to be slightly flatter so I can reach the notes.. it's quite hard to keep my hands rounded then as I don't have the biggest hands. Idk if that makes sense??
@@edenschannel101 oh it does. When playing octaves you sort of don’t have a choice. A, either suck it up, or B do rolling octaves. Sometimes if you can’t reach a note, slightly changing the fingering will make a huge difference. Though, Nocturne in C… “Chopin’s furthest stretch was an 8th” so if you’re going over an 8th, definitely change the fingering.
i am now a fan of your work my mom had got just got me my very first keyboard piano this November for my bday so this just got me in high hopes that i can be as good as others if i keep trying
Happy (very belated🤣) birthday and i truly hope you fall in love with piano! This may sound irrelevant, but the rule of 100 states that if you spend 100 hours a year (18 minutes a day) in any discipline, you will be better than 95% of the world in that discipline. Play piano everyday for 18 minutes and I promise you will see immense progress in 1 years time :)
Most realistic piano progress video I've seen so far. (yes, I've seen people make videos of themselves playing Chopin Op 66 and say it was their second year of practicing)
I really love your video! And here's why - you made the comment several times that songs bored you after a while - and I feel it so hard.... I think I can cut myself a slice, just take a new song and do not get angry about it. Maybe you go back after some time and learn more... but maybe you learn 1000 beginnings and nothing to end - does not really matter, the main thing is to have fun in the time :) Thank you for sharing.
It's so nice to find people who also have this issue!! I typically learn about a minute of a song before getting sick of it 😅😅 I may go back to nocturne op 9 no 2. Not sure though. Definitely!! Having fun is the key!! I LOVE piano :) I dont feel the need to follow a structure if I don't want to :) Thank YOU for watching
Ive been playing for 13 years now(im turning 17)and you made alot of progress and I'm happy we can share the same passion for this wonferful instrument,Im only now learning walz in a minor by Chopin and have learnt it in 2 weeks perfectly, take your time, also work on your handposture,my teacher told me to pretend you're holding a tennis ball while your playing, but non the less well done, just don't rush into it too quickly otherwise you miss the fine details, especially with your trills you have the wrong fingering etc, also noticing you put your fingers flat on the keys, try and put your finger tips not flatten your finger on the key
That's awesome you've been playing for so long!! This is a great comment. I definitely agree with the take your time thing! I definitely needed more time for Waltz in A minor. 2 months after I tried learning it back in october/ November, I tried again and actually started to pick it up easily. I think the issue is that I'm too impatient and get easily discouraged if I don't see progress immediately. As for the curved fingers thing, I definitely agree!! I've been working on having curved fingers a lot more recently. Its kind of hard as sometimes I feel it's practically impossible to have super curved fingers in certain situations as I don't have the biggest hands and I often need to reach notes. As for trills, I've tried them with fingers 1 and 2 but I honestly find 2 and 4 easier, so I kind of just stuck to it. Sometimes I use 1 and 2. Perhaps I'll explore 1 and 2 again. Thank you so much for this great comment!
Don't worry Eden, it's ok. You can play the piano everydays for all months but good, keep trying ! I had to playing two with a little mistackes, sorry about that Eden but I did it. I'm so proud of you and no more mistackes, thanks.❤😊
This is actually so inspiring, I just bought a Thomann DP 26 digital piano for my birthday and I cant really afford anything else, so I'm learning off of nothing. I really hope I am at your level in 1 year.
You are very good, please keep going, it looks therapeutic! You stole my heart with “Coraline” 😩☺️, I read that book in the 5th grade (i’m 30 now) and I fell in love. The movie soundtrack is everything I hoped it would be.
Omg thank you!! Coraline is honestly my favourite 🥲 favourite book AND movie. Watched the movie at like 4 years old and read the book at 16. The movie soundtrack is too good 🥲🥲
That is such a lovely video, it was great to watch your progress and also very entertaining. We look forward to hearing the development of your talent. Well done and thank you 😊.
I recommend buying the most inexpensive digital camera that has a microphone input. And record via cable. Headphone output on the piano > microphone input on the camera. You won't hear any extraneous noise or banging on the keys. Just pure music.
Thanks for posting this! I've recently picked up piano again (I studied it when I was a kid) and it's so inspiring to watch someone else progress. I completely relate to the memorizing pieces and not being able to sight read. I did that ad a kid and regreted it, so this time I'm learning and let my teacher know I wanted to focus on sight reading! The most difficult part for me right now is trying to find pieces at my level I can start learning. All the ones I bring to my teacher she says are too hard for me right now 😅 I hope to be able to continue playing for a long time. Though my progress is slower than yours, I hope to be able to play beautiful songs in a year just like you did!
Sorry for the late response I've recently moved across the country😅 that's so awesome you've picked up piano after years! Once I get a teacher I really wanna focus on reading aswell because I honestly feel like my piano skills right now are limited because I can't read well. I need to look for piano teachers in this area 🤔 I also have that same issue of learning pieces where the reading is waaaay too hard🤣 but I have a habit of playing by ear and so I can just about manage. I believe in you and I'm certain you will be an amazing piano player in 1 year! Good luck! And I would love to hear from you in a years time :))
Your Progress was amazing! So much hard work and dedication was put into that and i can definitely tell! good luck with the rest of your piano journey :)
Such a great video and amazing progress. I don't remember what level I was at after my first year but I can safely say I wasn't as good as you. I just wish I had documented it like you. I will be expecting another one of these videos next year :)
Thank you so much for the kind words!!! I will definitely make sure to document my progress this year in order to post my 2nd year! I will possibly make a 500 days of piano progress video or 18 month progress video. As much hard work as it was, I really enjoyed editing this video and especially enjoy reading comments from people who say they love it too!!
AWESOME JOB! Seriously! You've tackled pieces way beyond your ability and managed to do a pretty good job with them! You clearly have some good talent and ability -- and motivation! I'd like to share a few thoughts -- - your technic changes through the recordings - at sometimes it's pretty good, at other times could be better. The main things I see are related to posture and hand position issues -- especially tension - focusing on posture and position would be a good thing -- most students don't realize how much it helps. Your earlier videos of course are just the beginning ( at 5:55 - playing sitting sideways ! .. ) Sitting at the DP6 things are better. In most cases it looks like you're a bit too low. When sitting -- back straight -- your elbows should be a little above the top of the keys -- you want to be able to drop weight from your arms into your hands, and it's hard to do that when your arms are too low. It looks like you're sitting far enough away -- not too close -- that's ok -- you should be leaning in slightly so your elbows don't hit your ribs. - wrists and hands -- you're playing some pretty advanced stuff, so some of the beginner technics are hard to apply. In general you want your wrist to be level with your forearm, and you want to have an arch in your hands from your knuckles through your fingers; at 7:19 -- you can see the left hand wrist is bent upward and the arch in the first knuckles is broken. This is partly due to the stretch for the notes, but would be better if the wrist was more level and the arch in the hand was more present. - fingers - most of the time you have an ok curve in the last knuckle, but sometimes the last joints of the fingers are bent backwards (at 0:51 - 0:57 - RH last joint of 2nd and 3rd finger caves in after playing) - a few technical studies may help strengthen your hands to keep them more consistent. - sometimes you seem to have a lot of tension in your hands, other times not so much. Tension is when you're holding your fingers up off the keys in the air -- using the upper muscles in your forearm which conflicts with the lower muscles used for playing. At 3:38 - 3:45 - your forearms and wrists are high (sitting on bed) -- you're getting a nice transfer of weight down into the keys, but notice the tension in your LH thumb. You do have a nice wrist motion for transferring weight into the keys. Things look a bit more relaxed at 3:49 - 4:00 - perhaps the pedal is helping you to relax a bit -- plus you know the piece better. Some tension can come from trying to play a piece too fast before it's really learned, so slow practice is always good - you need to intentionally practice playing relaxed -- if you're experiencing tension it may be because you're playing beyond how well you've learned the piece at the moment. Also playing continually with tension may lead to pain and injury -- try to avoid at all costs! - you've kinda skipped a few steps technically and it will be good to fill in what you've missed -- scales and chords (I know .. "boring") - but helpful. Think of it this way -- scales and chords are easier than pieces in a way (repetitive -- I know - boring) so you use them to focus on developing your technic -- then you take that technic and use it in your pieces. It's not like you need to play hundreds of hours of technic (please don't do all the Hanon exercises - maybe one or two). But 10 - 20 minutes of technic a few times a week will make playing everything else easier (and will help with reading). The main thing I see you need technically is to quiet your hands -- get rid of a lot of tension, and technic helps do that because you're not struggling to "get the right notes" the same as in a piece. Playing on the first keyboard probably didn't help because you really have to hold your fingers off the keys. But the weighted keyboard -- like a piano -- should help since you can rest your fingers on the keys without them playing. As far as learning to use the metronome (there may be one built in to the D6), working with scales and chords with a metronome is a good way to learn both. Also -- to add more interest, try playing scales in different rhythms, and in 10ths (like C major - LH 5th finger starts on C, RH starts w/3rd finger on E - use correct fingers). Then try using the metronome with a piece you're learnnig. It's definitely not the most fun, but it helps a lot with precision and confidence (although you're doing really well as it is). I'd recommend learning the triads -- broken and blocked -- in all three inversions (root position, first inversion, and second inversion), and then learn cadences - in most major and minor keys. - your memorizing is great, and you have good ability. Memorizing is a part of learning to play, and the best performances come from pieces that have been memorized. Yes, it does sometimes take place of reading -- but the reading can be learned -- I'm sure you will get there. Learning scales and chords will greatly help with your reading.
you might try these to help strengthen your hands and work away some of the tension -- play in all three inversions, different keys as a warm-up -- only takes a minute or so to get through one. th-cam.com/video/vxpKkJmUfec/w-d-xo.html
You seriously don't understand how helpful this is. There are little bad habits that I've naturally acquired due to not having a teacher and so I am so grateful when people point out where I can improve my technique. I had no idea I was doing half these things. Thank you so much for taking the time to include timestamps!!!! Right now, the only scales I know off by heart and can comfortably play is D major, C major, G major and F major. However, I very rarely practice scales and can very barely play them with both hands. I will definitely start practising them and hopefully add more scales as I progress! Not too sure which ones are most important for me to learn next though. You're definitely right about tension. I think I am definitely sitting too low. I also play things waaay too fast before I'm ready. I actually had to stop practising Sonata in C major because the scales in my right hand started to make my wrists hurt as I couldn't quite work out how to play them fast without tension. Every now and again get slight pain in my left wrists and fingers when I play. The pain is gone after a day or two but I know I should not be getting any pain when playing🤔🤔 I think I will definitely start learning chords as I was reading the Fantasie Impromptu scores last night and it really reminded me of Nocturne in C sharp minor!! Thank you so much for your kind words and the advice!! This is probably the most thoughtful and helpful comment I have gotten.
@@edenschannel101 OOHH! you definitely do NOT want to go the pain route! I'm so glad to be of help -- you obviously have talent and dedication, and I'm concerned that you are having issues which may turn into injuries. Good posture and position will definitely help, but you need to go a bit further. You'll be fine if you back off a bit and address the issues -- remember that the slow-down is for both your health and making real progress. Your goal is to be able to play any finger or combination of fingers with NONE of the other fingers involved (independence). You may find some of the other "close touch" (CT-) and triad (TR_) exercises on my YT channel helpful - if done *correctly* !!! Maybe even start with the first one (CT-1 A) and work your way through - NEVER more than 3 or 4 at a time, never more than 5 minutes (these are strong medicine!). These have to be done very slowly -- they are not velocity exercises -- they're meant to help train for relaxation and independence of fingers. They should never be played fast, and you should only do about 3 or 4 at a time; each hand alone so you can focus on tension and relaxation, alternate hands so that one hand is resting while the other one is playing -- totally relax each hand before starting over. The exercises holding all keys down are to train your fingers for independence (they're harder than they look at first), but the final form of the close touch you're trying to get to is more like what you see in TR-F -- all fingers resting relaxed on the keys - no fingers lifted up (no tension); the wrist motion is exaggerated for learning purposes to assure the transfer of weight into the fingers (eliminating finger-only action) - in actual playing it's still there but almost imperceptible. For scales -- the ones you have now are fine -- learn to play them *well* , then start picking up others -- A major and Emajor use the same fingering as C, D, and G: in those, both 3rd fingers always play at the same time. To get both hands playing together try playing the scale and repeat each note twice or 3 times -- with an accent on the 1st time. Try to vary the scales by playing in different rhythms (like long - short long ), with and without accents (accent the long notes) etc. You should be playing at least 2 octaves -- 4 is better. Also learn a few minor scales - A minor is the relative minor of C major (same notes); C minor is the parallel minor of C major (but the relative minor of Eb major - so it has 3 flats) There are three forms of minor scales -- the natural, melodic, and harmonic - you can Google / look those up; try learning the relative minors of C major (A minor) and G major (E minor) -- they use the same fingering as the major scales; other relative minors will use different fingering. Focus on getting one or two scales going really well - prefereably at least one with sharps (I like D major). The skill you learn from getting a couple down will transfer more easily into the other keys. It would probably be good if you set aside a couple of technic-only sessions each week to play a mix of scales and chords - no more than 30 minutes at a time, since your focus will start to wander after about 30 mins. The point of scales is to be able to play them well and fully relaxed -- then the same technic that you play the scales with gets into the pieces you're playing. So you're not just playing scales because you're "supposed to" -- you have a goal -- knowing that the better you play scales, the better you'll play everything else -- make sense? Keep up the good work - and TAKE GOOD CARE of yourself -- do NOT mistreat those talented hands :-)
Playing the exercises staccato is a trick that will massively improve any technique except bigger arpeggios(2 octave+) especially scales, and it works for pieces too
Well done!!! Now venture into jazz concepts and playing fully chord structures and melodies, I'd recommend mastering major and minor scales of all 12 key centres then train both hands to play major and minor 7th chords all 12, then dominant and diminished 7ths, then practice the circle of 5ths, it is very useful, it helped me allot
First off- thanks so much!! Secondly- Jazz is something I really want to get into! But all the theory stuff honestly kinda scares me. I know it will be so beneficial but I feel like I'm in tye deep end of the ocean😅 How long do you think it will take for me to learnt all those scales? I really want to try playing with jazz and boogie woogie but i just don't know how because i lack the theory knowledge.
Major scales are essential because if u know the scale of a key centre u have whats necessary to be able to play in that key and the formula to follow to play a major scale for any key is play a note skip a note the only time you don't skip is between the 3 and 4 and the 7 and 8 You know what is the anywhere else I can contact you from? I'll send a 3 page pdf I made for someone a while ago that would help get past a beginner stage
@@edenschannel101 I don't really use reddit but if I'm not mistaken would I he able to post images on your reddit that ud be able to see, I'm not sure how reddit works I think I could do that no?

I'm looking to start posting more often soon!!
if you quit doing something because of poor equipment, you didn't actually love it. don't worry about it, just do your thing.

Hey I have some pieces you can practice for sight reading:
-Minuet in G major
-Minuet in G minor C.Petzold
-Für Elise
As for ones you can learn:
-Little prelude no.2 in c minor BWV 934
-Minuet in b minor(French suite no.3 BWV 814) also a theme for tetris
-prelude in c minor from the 1st WTC by Bach
-the other two movements of Mozarts C major sonata
Those are my recommendations, if you like them you can learn them.
Haha, thanks so much! This is super helpful!!!
Fur Elise* not Für
I do believe it is in fact Für elise :)
As someone who also picks stuff to learn then gets bored and move on to the next thing I find this inspiring :)
Hahaha thanks 🤝🤝 I'm currently in the "bored phase" of piano and so i dont play as much sadly. But, I hope to pick it up again when I have more time.
@@edenschannel101I hope you've gotten back into the swing of things. Your progress was very inspiring!
Dudo bastante que tenga talento, creo que solo fue esfuerzo
I think technique is no at point as your fingers are lifting very less, and in mozzart its staccato where you have to leave notes crisps
I love it.
Thank you so much for your kind words!! The nice comments you guys leave make the hours of editing so worth it🥲
I really love that you added personal notes in the right margin.
(Just so it's not misconstrued, I mean this as a compliment.)
Thank you!

Nice!!
Thank you so much! This means a lot!!! I can't wait to be able to say I've played as long as 10 years!!
I recently began writing music everyday,,,and this inspires me cause it’s not always easy-but the results and the skill development makes it so worth it
Writing music is definitely not easy! I applaud ( and envy 😉 ) you. The results are definitely so worth it!
Thank you for your kind words and thanks a bunch for watching!!! Also, I love the profile pic😉😉
how did you teach yourself to learn? I want to start but dont know how to
I learnt completely using TH-cam and musescore tbh. I found songs on TH-cam and musescore and learnt them. I didn't really have a method. If I ever got stuck on anything I would just ask TH-cam :)
That's sad then

So happy to hear that!! Here's to a new year of playing the best instrument in the world 🥂🥂
Your sister singing along was very cute. Its nice to hear your family was interested/encouraging. Nice video!
Haha thanks🤣
The part where your sister started singing..so cute!! Congratulations for all the effort you put into this, you are really talented!❤
Haha thanks so much🤣
Well this is definitely guilt tripping me into practicing more. I kind of half assed my self learning the first year and would only play about 2-3 times a week. Your progress is pretty impressive.
I’m starting my piano journey 🎉❤
Good luck!!!
Thanks so much!! Honestly that has been me for the past year. Tomorrow marks the completion of my second year of piano and I've barely played this year. Mostly due to exams, moving, university etc. but I've definitely been lazy about it. Here's to a more productive piano year for the both of us🤣🥂🥂
That was fun to watch, especially because of your descriptions and the gifs :D
Haha thanks so much! I love when people notice those🤣🤣
Smart, very quick progress! So many people learn stuff they are told they should play rather than the stuff they enjoy. Just goes to show what you can achieve when you have a passion for it.
Thanks so much! Totally agree :))
Even tho I play instruments, I could NEVER self teach myself for this long and this consistent as I would get tired of it after a while. Props to u 👏

Thank you so much! If it makes you feel any better, it took me 4/5 months to learn Bohemian Rhapsody and its STILL not perfect 🤣

I am sure you are going to grow more. It takes time
It's fake progress that's why.
The fact that your cat loves Chopin is so heartwarming and cute. It's really made my day :D
It cost me ⅓ of retail price.
ok ive been playing for 6 years and holy shot your month one was freakin unbelievable and it only got crazier!!
Thank you so much!!!
hahaha There is so much humor in this video, and it makes your story telling even more enjoyable.
Thank you!! I was so afraid this was gonna be a boring video so I tried to add as much personality as possible without it taking away from the video🤣
Even from the beginning you are so talented. This has inspired me even more to learn the piano. Growing up we didnt have the funds or time to invest in a piano but now that I am 25 nothing will stop me from learning.
That is so genuinely awesome and I'm so glad you held into your dream of playing piano! I wish you so much luck and thank you for your kind words:))
For sure! Definitely do! When you make your first upload I will make sure to be your first fan!!
OMG, you learned so fast, have a such talent for that.
Thanks so much!!
You began your journey at my birthday! Congrats for all your progress, impressive!!!1
That's awesome haha! Thank you!!
I'm glad this video started blowing up. It's amazing to see your progress over the months and now people can see and appreciate it too. I hope that you can continue your dream.
Thanks so much!! This comment is much appreciated🥲 Did you first see this video when it didn't have a lot of views?
The way that you played it regularly brought wonderful results to you!! so good!!
Thank you so much!!! I wish I still had that same discipline. I barely play now 😭🤣
I am 15 and i am gonna start learning to play this week , I hope I can learn a lot , this video made me have Inspiration to play !
We started around the same age!! Good luck!!! Have you started?
@@edenschannel101 yes I started yesterday!
Congrats!! How are you finding it??
WHAT!!! I’ve been playing 5 years almost dude and ur crazy good the progress is amazing!
This is so kind thank you so much!! I can't wait to get to 5 years!!
i am just a beginner and i dont know how to read notes…i dont know where to put my hands and i dont know where to start. you are amazing and this is inspiring😊
Thanks so much! Welcome to the amazing instrument of piano! You've made a great choice! There are so many TH-cam videos out there which can help you learn the basics! That's how I learnt the basics! You've got this!!
Congratulations for your efforts!!!
You are really an inspiration for everybody ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! This really does mean a lot :)))
@@edenschannel101 ❤
Well done what a talented young lady. Super impressive 😊
Thank you!! :)
I’ve been playing on and off piano for 2 years now and your 1 month was better then what I can do 😭
I highly doubt thats true🤣 but thanks so much for the compliment and a huge thanks for watching and commenting!! It really does help get my channel out there!
I really enjoyed watching this clip of your journey! I just started playing a month ago. I look forward to where I will be in a year. At 50 years old I am enjoying the process of learning like never before. Well done.
Thanks so much! That is so awesome!!! I'm so happy to hear that. I would be so glad to hear back from you in 10-11 months time :))
Yup I have still not gotten over the habit of getting bored of pieces half way through 😭😭😭 I'm working on it🤣
This motivates so much, just started self-teaching myself the piano. I fell in love with it months ago
That makes me so happy to hear! Good luck! I miss that feeling of being in love with piano tbh. Over time I've kind of drifted from piano.
@@edenschannel101 Thank you!
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!! YOU ARE AMAZING! YOUR PROGRESS IS SO IMPRESSIVE.....BEAUTIFUL EXECUTION ON THE KEYBOARD!
Thank you so much🥲🥲
I have been familiar with the piano for about 5 years, but still sadly only know how to play half of one huge song.
Wow that's some major progress in 1 year, I love the piece you did for Coraline too
Thanks so much!!! I love it too :)
That was good :) as someone playing for 6 years keep up the great work hoping you enjoy your piano journey :)
This is genuinely such a cool story. I truly hope you excel in piano and give your siblings a huge shock🤣 good luck! I'm rooting for you!!
@@edenschannel101 thank you :) I’ll definitely try to shock em
Kudos to your progression! Super nice video! I've alwways LOVED piano, but now you inspired to take my skills further! Thanks for sharing. Super beautiful!
Omg thank you so much 🥲🥲 always nice to hear I've inspired a stranger 🥲
This was very inspiring, I just started learning Piano about 3 months ago, so far I've learned 2 full easy songs from youtube. My goal is to just have fun while playing!
Thank you!!! We have the same goal haha. Good luck with the rest of your piano journey!
Hey! How's your journey going?
Hell yeah man, I started playing guitar a few months ago and I tried simply guitar which had songs on it that I would never think about playing on it. Once I started actually reading musical tabs for guitar for songs I enjoyed I loved it. Now I can play songs that I love and enjoy listening too, there’s no better feeling. 🤟🏻
Idky but this comment feels sponsored or something 😭
You should be rightfully proud of your progress! I'm especially impressed with your renditions of Chopin - I've been playing casually for years, but never had the courage to try one of his pieces! Well done!
Thank you!!! Try some chopin!! He's so great!
Yea I’m sort of self taught too I started plaguing this past January and I’ve loved it ever since you’re doing a phenomenal job at it I hope you’ll continue to pursue this
Thats awesome and thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!! I'm glad there are other people who appreciate the songs I like aswell!!
This is inspiring 🙂 Thank you for sharing your journey 🎹
Thanks so much🥲🥲
Great job man! I’m planning to buy a digital piano sometime in the next week. Wish me luck!
Also love how you managed to. get so far during 1 year! keep it up
Thank you so much!!
This is really really impressive! It's also beautiful to listen to♥
Thank you so much!!!
I'm 24 just started learning piano, although playing from last 4 years, but it was very irregular. Got inspiration from you hope I'll also play my favourite pieces someday.
Good luck and thank you so much!!!!!!
Glad to see genuine progress videos
Haha yeah there's definitely a few sketchy ones out there. Thanks for commenting!!
I eventually had to stop playing the piano for about 3 years due to life circumstances💀
But I will be getting a piano this year and really looking forward to practicing again from zero💦💦
Glad to hear I'm not the only one😩😩 I also may have to take a break from piano soon unfortunately. I'm going to university soon and don't know if I will be able to take it with me. Good luck on your piano journey! I know you will pick it up again quickly! Thank you so much for watching :))
@@edenschannel101 You should get another small one to take!
@@AbideinChristSealed 😫😫
@@AbideinChristSealed maybe ill get one of those foldable ones 🤔🤔
Hey how did it go? :)
@@quangvu4405 I see!! I've never heard of rolling octaves so I'll look into them. As always I'm so grateful for the tips I recieve so thanks a bunch!!
i am now a fan of your work my mom had got just got me my very first keyboard piano this November for my bday so this just got me in high hopes that i can be as good as others if i keep trying
Haha thanks. Yh I must admit, some are harder to believe than others😅
I really love your video! And here's why - you made the comment several times that songs bored you after a while - and I feel it so hard.... I think I can cut myself a slice, just take a new song and do not get angry about it. Maybe you go back after some time and learn more... but maybe you learn 1000 beginnings and nothing to end - does not really matter, the main thing is to have fun in the time :)
Thank you for sharing.
It's so nice to find people who also have this issue!! I typically learn about a minute of a song before getting sick of it 😅😅 I may go back to nocturne op 9 no 2. Not sure though. Definitely!! Having fun is the key!! I LOVE piano :) I dont feel the need to follow a structure if I don't want to :)
Thank YOU for watching
Felicitaciones ❤🎉
Muchas gracias amigo!!
Don't worry Eden, it's ok.
You can play the piano everydays for all months but good, keep trying ! I had to playing two with a little mistackes, sorry about that Eden but I did it.
I'm so proud of you and no more mistackes, thanks.❤😊
Thank you so much 🤧❤️❤️
This is actually so inspiring, I just bought a Thomann DP 26 digital piano for my birthday and I cant really afford anything else, so I'm learning off of nothing. I really hope I am at your level in 1 year.
Omg that's so awesome!! I wish you so much good luck!
Thank you so much!! I look forward to continuing to post on youtube!!
I'm very inspired by your progress. Thank you for sharing all your hard work. Congratulations on your successes!
This is such a nice comment!! Thanks so much!!!
I recommend buying the most inexpensive digital camera that has a microphone input. And record via cable. Headphone output on the piano > microphone input on the camera. You won't hear any extraneous noise or banging on the keys. Just pure music.
Thanks for the advice!! I definitely hope to upgrade my set up if I continue to post. Gotta get a job 😭
All the ones I bring to my teacher she says are too hard for me right now 😅
I hope to be able to continue playing for a long time.
I need to look for piano teachers in this area 🤔
I also have that same issue of learning pieces where the reading is waaaay too hard🤣 but I have a habit of playing by ear and so I can just about manage.
I believe in you and I'm certain you will be an amazing piano player in 1 year! Good luck! And I would love to hear from you in a years time :))
Your Progress was amazing! So much hard work and dedication was put into that and i can definitely tell! good luck with the rest of your piano journey :)
Thank you so much!! It definitely is hard work 😩 thank you for such an encouraging comment!
I'd like to share a few thoughts --
- your technic changes through the recordings - at sometimes it's pretty good, at other times could be better. The main things I see are related to posture and hand position issues -- especially tension
- focusing on posture and position would be a good thing -- most students don't realize how much it helps.

Playing the exercises staccato is a trick that will massively improve any technique except bigger arpeggios(2 octave+) especially scales, and it works for pieces too
@@aBachwardsfellow definitely!! More slpw practise it is. Thanks again so much!!
ive been playing piano for 2 months now and i dont even know how to play the first clip of your video... great work bro!!
Thank you so much and good luck with piano!
guess what kind of ad I got before watching....
very nice video, as a self taught I'm amazed at how fast you progressed. good job!
Lemme guess. Simply Piano? Cos that's the ad I always get before I watch the video😭 thank you so much! This means so much!!
Major scales are essential because if u know the scale of a key centre u have whats necessary to be able to play in that key and the formula to follow to play a major scale for any key is play a note skip a note the only time you don't skip is between the 3 and 4 and the 7 and 8
You know what is the anywhere else I can contact you from? I'll send a 3 page pdf I made for someone a while ago that would help get past a beginner stage
Or instead of pdf just send the 3 images, I'm not sure u can do that in the comment section 😂
Omg that would be great! I mean i have discord and reddit?
@@edenschannel101 I don't really use reddit but if I'm not mistaken would I he able to post images on your reddit that ud be able to see, I'm not sure how reddit works I think I could do that no?
Bro my 1 Year progression was just last week congrats man we both came a long way 🔥🤟🏽
Congrats bro!! I've watched your videos!! Youve learnt so much!!
@@edenschannel101 Thanks bro same for u!!🔥🔥
