not sure this is selfish, but I actually really enjoy seeing the messes behind the camera. It's very much my situation too and it actually makes me feel really calm and a relief that this is all part of being a plant parent with a million things on the go figuring life out in our 30s! Thanks for another video Charmaine. Much appreciated.
Thank you for showing the “not so good” or “Easy” parts of this hobby. I have so many plants thriving.. but sometimes one just takes a 💩. I used to get so discouraged… I’d throw them away if they even started yellowing. Now I take a page from your book and we go full rehab mode until every node is spent. Lol. You’re amazing and your micans will be amazing again, soon. Sending much love! 😊
I love how casual and chill you are whenever you found the spider mites😂 helps me to remember that spider mites aren't as gross as they feel in my mind, and it's actually just a natural part of plant parenthood. So thank youuuu ❤
Love your "That's what she said"😂(quietly)! I am going to try no drainage and a darker area of my bright Eastern room on my micans. I love this plant, but it doesn't like my conditions. Evrey other plant grows like a weed, this one's stagnant. Pudge looking for them dollars for his appearance 😂😂Go Pudge! 🐾 🐾 ❤
I was cringing through to my core at the tangled bundle and then you said you were going to untangle it and I breathed a sigh of relief 😅 thanks for being awesomely you ❤
I admire your fearlessness in tackling nightmare repots. You just wade right in. Eventually my admiration will inspire me to tackle the two nightmares I've been putting off for a year. I hope.
I feel you. I recently just lost my 4 year old, 6ft long Golden Pothos to leaf spot disease. Devastating. Hopefully your beautiful Micans bounces back quickly.
This really a fun video to watch. Your confidence while you’re working on the plant is a draw for me to have the confidence to do things with my plants. I now know I can repot my big bop. It’s tipping the pot over and the soil is heaving up on the uphill side. It time to clean off my table and “just do it”. Thank you.
I’m so sorry for what’s been going on with your extended family. But family comes first and he’s needed there. I’m hoping things work itself out soon so Vince can come home to you.
I never knew you could wash plants in hot water! I thought they’d end up like wilted spinach! I totally expected them to melt but they were so perky after their spa treatment 😮. Great video btw thanks
A few months ago I was sick and so tired. I felt like I was dying. I was about to get in bed and a picture fell and knocked downs 6 inch vessel with pon and the glass broke all over. I love your advice at the beginning. My first thought was "don't freak out. don't freak out."
I use the same exact concoction in a big spray bottle as a preventative for all of my plants. Except I add a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide as well but, knock on wood because I spray my plants when they first come into my house and whenever I’m just doing a typical leaf cleaning project. I think that this is the best “serum”. Another amazing video as usual :-) thank you so much.! I have a great feeling about this! That mixture works great in my opinion
The castile soap is a good option then. I hadn't heard that, but I might go get some so I have a few bug fighting options..I have alocasias which are my spider mite magnets.
Love that you are you and dont change for the camera. I get frustrated at times with my plants when an infestation breaks out. You are so calm about the spider mites. Do you have any suggestions for eradicating fugus gnats? Im currently battling these for over a month after repotting 8 plants, and then it just infested my whole collection. Is there anything i can do? I've added hydrogen peroxide to my water but still have the problem. My plants are in soil with perlite, and some of them are in tropical soil like my mini fiddle leaf figs. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. 😢
Hi, fyi, Provanto and Bug Clear Ultra are supposed to be systemics that kill spider mites (not like Bonide), so far I've only seen good opinions about them. There is also a targeted spider mites systemics developed by Bayer (in US sold as Kontos) but it's like $300 :) so I'm waiting for it to get a teeny tiny bit cheaper. I might save and get it though, spider mites are getting on my nerves slowly. Predators seem to control them in my collection but any time the humidity drops and predators hide in the soil the buggers are back. They never get to the point of killing the plants but the damage they leave is ugly and thus annoying :) Thanks for another video and all the best to you and yours!
I’m here, perfect distraction for what I should be doing ! I love how Pudge comes and as soon as he hears the intro line, he’s like I’m out, ✌🏻 out lol. I always wet my substrate when I can’t get plant out, is it easier if it’s dry ? 🤔 have I been doing it wrong All this time.
I’ve been informed that pudge is demanding a raise before he’ll make a full appearance again. Working out details with his agent this week! Also I do find wet pon is much easier to loosen up but I HATE working with it wet because it sticks everywhere and gets messy 🤦🏻♀️
I saw another youtuber wash her plant, but she washed roots and all. She then put it in a bottle of water and let it grow and it was beautiful. I know you explained it, but I am still confused as to why you didn't wash the rest of the plant instead of throwing it away?
Hi Charmaine 🫶🏻 sending you lots and lots of positive vibes. Don’t know if things are going better for yours and Vince’s family but I’m praying for them. Thanks again for sharing your time with us!
Idk if you’d care but i dont think thats just any regular schmegular micans. Its not the OG one. I think youve got a micans var. kirkbridei… i got mine under “costa rican micans” from a friend and eventually found the proper name, and i can see the differences and yours is especially saturated and beautiful/shaped like it. So… its special-er 🥺 lol
Just did a HUUUGE chop to our 40yo Euphorbia Trigonas at work that got really horrible frostbite during Covid and then root rot. I also have had such success with big chops from mites and aphids at home. 2/3 plants recovered from being chopped to just the stem or one single leaf and are now growing back pestless and healthy. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MICANS!
The builders had a bright idea of making everything unnecessarily fancy and source parts from very small overseas suppliers that don’t make replacement parts for anything now 😊😊😊 it’s a massive headache a giant pain in my ass
Great video. I saw another video that warned not to use alcohol that is package at a percentage higher than 70%. The explanation as to why didn’t all the way make sense to me 😂 but I only use 70% in my treatment with the same soaps. I also add hydrogen peroxide that comes to me at 3%. It was also recommended in the same video. My treatment seems to make a big difference. Hope yours does too.
19:12 might as well just threw the whole thing into a washing machine😂 On a serious note - not to doubt on your level of expertise but does alcohol even bother mites? Because spider mites in my area are resilient to a military-grade acaricydes so that amount of alcohol is just gonna get them tipsy for free. Or am I just illiterate and should give it a try? My poor micans is under attack rn too so this is a real question
I fucking hate spidermites. I would rather get scale, mealy bugs and thrips all at once but those tiny tiny fuckers. Maybe thats because we have acsess to systemics but anyway. Your micans always was a token lush trailing plant and here we are, starting fresh. Keeping my fingers crossed its gonna be better than ever in no time❤

Daaaaaaamn that Lecca ball flew right in🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for appreciating that moment 😆 #sportgirly
“I’m a hoot, if you will“
♥️🦉♥️
yes, I will.
For you, I will.
I was cringing through to my core at the tangled bundle and then you said you were going to untangle it and I breathed a sigh of relief 😅 thanks for being awesomely you ❤

This was a very interesting video. I learned a great deal and appreciated that you created it for us.
I was cringing through to my core at the tangled bundle and then you said you were going to untangle it and I breathed a sigh of relief 😅
So sorry this happened to you. Like you said, you’ve been here before and you realize it’s benefit. It just sucks at first.
Good job cleaning her up!
The beginning of this video is just brilliant 😂
I’m so sorry for what’s been going on with your extended family. But family comes first and he’s needed there. I’m hoping things work itself out soon so Vince can come home to you.
Ofc i gotta try this soak for spidermites. Awesome content as usual💯
Oh my lord that was painful, you have the patience of a saint. Give it a year it will look fab ❤🌿❤

Good grief, girl! That view you have!! 😲
Thanks for showing the correct amount of Great White to use. I have been using too much!! 😀

Thank you and look forward to seeing Pudge in future
Yes I needed a video of yours to pick me up 🥺 Thank you❤

Okay KOBE!!
Will you be treating your micans in a few days again for the mites? What is the plan to keep the mites at bay? Always love your videos Sherman 😍
Hi Charmaine 🫶🏻 sending you lots and lots of positive vibes. Don’t know if things are going better for yours and Vince’s family but I’m praying for them. Thanks again for sharing your time with us!
Your kindness makes my heart melt!! Thank you so much 🥺🩵🩵 you’re so appreciated!!
At least the mess wasn't on carpet!! You should hear me when that happens 😉
I’m guessing it goes something like:
MotherBLEEP why the BLEEP does this always happen you BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP I’m gonna BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP

New fan here but your chopping style matches mine and I feel so seen haha

Is it foggy there or wildfire smoke off your balcony?
I always assume burying the stem would rot but it would make a great alternative to chopping if not.
I find that it’s not an issue unless the stems are at the very bottom of the pot! Otherwise, it’s really no different than propagating it :)
It’s still so long, when you were trimming it but it looks longer on the ladder. Angle of the camera make the difference.
tell your armpit to stop looking at me!
I didn’t know you could treat spider mites with alcohol.
that’s what i did for a calathea that had thrips. wiped down the entire thing with alcohol on a paper towel for three days and they were gone
Oh noooooo😢
That doors been broken for a while now. What’s up with building maintenance?
The builders had a bright idea of making everything unnecessarily fancy and source parts from very small overseas suppliers that don’t make replacement parts for anything now 😊😊😊 it’s a massive headache a giant pain in my ass
