Greg, when you’re out and about, look for an individual cake shop that bakes their own. Buy a Lamington with fresh cream, an apple turnover with cream, and a sausage roll, then take them home to enjoy them! Way nicer than anything the supermarkets sell!
We have Ovaltine, and Akta-Vite which leans more towards a health drink than Nestles Quik and Ovaltine.
Old Gold chocolate company was taken over by corporate, like so many other confectioners around when I was growing up.

@@gregjameson327 Yeah, you guys are young so you’ve never known a life without corporate business. My memories go back to the corner store owned by the Levi family. Arnott’s Biscuits were sold loose, taken from a large Arnott’s tin with a colourful parrot on the lid. The shopkeeper weighed out the biscuits you wanted and placed them into a brown paper bag. Fresh Milk was delivered to your door each morning, in glass bottles. The washed empties were left out next morning for the milkman to collect. Life was much simpler then. 😍🇦🇺

Good range of snacks, there are different qualities/types of pies, sausage rolls and lamingtons (my favourite is the raspberry jelly covered lamington)! Vegemite is spread to taste. Bit less on the toast is better. I've never had it on toast just on bread. Spoon full is ok too it is an acquired taste. And yea vegemite is an industrial leftover from brewer's yeast extract a byproduct of beer manufacturing.

That must be the saddest looking meat pie ever. We have a saying for a really ugly beef pie; Someone's got a face like a dropped meat pie. wtf with the bit about a heated up frozen meat pie better than one from a bakery? Looks like it was microwaved too. Never! Milo too. Add a tiny bit of hot water and stir to partially dissolve the Milo before adding the milk to get both the flavoured milk and the crunchy floaters. Yes, like Ovaltine,,, a malted chocolate flavour. Vegemite, less is more, especially for beginners. Add more butter to the toast too. Classic fresh lamingtons from a bakery are way better than that prepackaged industrial preservative-laden thing from Coles that looked dried out and months old. CherryRipes are my opium. More calories in one than a whole day's allocation in day1 of WW diet. Someone forgot the Twisties though ,
