Trying to wrap my head around how having the barrel SHROUD banded to the reservoir dampens the harmonics of the barrel that's pretty much just floating around inside the shroud. Or is its purpose to solely isolate compression/ tension forces from the forearm?
Thanks for doing this video. I bought this kit and directions suck. All they talk about is the plastic stock version. I also have the wood stock model.
Can my Air Venturi Avenger 25 cal synthetic stock be changed over to the wood stock? My black stock is so shaky and it drives me crazy. I love the gun so much and I probably would of bought the wood stock version, but it wasnt available back when I bought my Avenger...
Thats still not going to help with POI shift when you tap your barrel on something or after filling the avenger. It's a major issue with this air rifle. Even just letting it sit for an hour or 2 without moving it the stupid thing has POI shift and you have to zero in the scope again which sucks. It's not a free-floating barrel so I don't see how this works. The Bonacci band is the only one I have seen help with POI shift because it keeps the barrel from shifting. So I'm confused about how this is going to help.
Maybe I'm not understanding the video right or how this is supposed to work, Can you please explain what it does for dummies like me in layman's terms?
@@FarmerFpv It is a 2 part system. A forend bracket and a barrel band. The first component, the forend bracket, isolates the barrel from the stock forend. With the factory barrel band if you push on the stock you in turn are pushing on the barrel. They are linked directly together. The second component is a barrel band. It secures only the upper air tube and the barrel together freeing the barrel from the stock forend. The barrel band does what all barrel bands do, resist movement by securing it with a second fixed and stable point. The factory barrel band marries too many components directly together, all leading right up to the barrel. So, this system does 2 things. The barrel band component eliminates POI shifts caused by bumping the barrel (like all barrel bands are designed to do) and eliminates force transfer from the stock forend up to the barrel.Without eliminating the factory barrel band simple physics will still be at play between the stock forend and the barrel causing issues.
I looked for your follow up test video, couldn't find it.. Does this actually work and does it improve accuracy, and improve POI shift etc.. My Avenger has issues with POI and barrel droop, and I am trying to debug it.. I got some 25 MOA scope shims and that helped some, have ordered some adjustable scope rings.. But it still suffers from POI, frustrating because it even occurs between magazines (load a magazine, site it in, reload the same magazine and the POI has shifted - making me crazy).. Tried a couple different 1" tube scopes - same results, so I also ordered a new scope (30mm tube) to match the Hawke adjustable rings.. If it doesn't straighten out soon, it is going to find a new home..
@@abitoutside I believe I may have fixed my POI problem.. I got out my torque wrench and torqued the scope clamps to 18 inch pounds. I torqued the barrel band screws to 12 inch pounds. Took the stock off and sanded the inside so that it would have the thickness of a piece of paper between the stock and the air tube.. Not sure which one actually helped (maybe they all helped).. Went out and tested it and shot 4 (10 shot) groups at 35 yards that measured 3/8 of an inch and under.. The rifle is set for around 31-32 fpe.. (18.13 grains at 885-890 fps).. 70+ shots on regulator with extreme spread of 17 fps.. It might end up being a keeper after all.. It still lags behind my Benjamin Cayden which is same FPE but will shoot 50+ with extreme spread of 20 fps or less (with no regulator), and will do 1/4 in and less (12 shot) groups at 35 yards all day long.. My friends Cayden can do 1/4 in (5 shot) groups at 50 yards (he is a better shot than I am).. lol..
Pull the shroud off and you'll see that there is a barrel support at the original band location. The guns are super accurate when tuned for the pellet. The one Nate reviewed shot the same hole consistently at 50 yds. Thanks for sharing.
Sure I can do that too. But soon as the Avenger is put away or refilled it has major POI shifts of 3 MOA at 30 yards. Sure it will shoot groups through and through but not the same place after putting the gun away. This barrel band system is not going to help as it's not a real free gloating barrel. There also is no crown so you will get clipped pellets. The Avenger needs lots of work that the Fanboys won't admit to because they're already invested in it. the only band that keeps the POI shift at bay is the Bonacci Barrel band. It prevents the barrel from shifting when filling or transporting. Without it, you will always be zeroing in your scope.
I bought this it works .Groups tighter at 50yd+
Did you have to do a lot of trial and error to tighten the groups?
Looks very interesting. Looking forward to seeing how it works out. If it’s a hit I will order these for my Advenger. Thanks Moose
You bet
@1:18 when the barrel pops up after the band is removed. That’s part of the problem. My scope could barely adjust that low.
Many airgun scopes have this issue due to not enough adjustability in them. Try adjustable scope rings to add some moa
Nice I'm hoping to buy one soon thanks moose👍👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Very nice 👌👍
Thanks a lot
I love there stuff they make great products
Mahalo Braddah 🤙that was easy love ur beard🤙
Really cool!

Yes, Pyramid Air had some in stock last week.
Will there be a follow up video?
At this point I'm not sure when I will have the time. I'll do my best.
I looked for the barrel band link no link would the fx balancer be better for the avenger or the barrel band thank you for the time

Amazing, all they did was return to the Nova Liberty Design. ( 1st Gen Avenger)
