    Now try to reduce hammerspring tension untill velocity drops, it will cock lighter and possibly give you even more shots. Thank you for your informative video's.

    My Avenger in 22cal had a problem with the scope rail, I don't know if it is just my airgun or if it's all of them, but I put a level on the rail, and the front section of the rail was not level with the rear section, so if I put my scope on the gun, it was not lined up with the barrel very good, I took of the front clam shells exposing the air tube, and I leveled the gun by putting my level on the side of the regulator housing where the air tubes and barrel are attached, with the gun level I checked the rails again and I found that the rear section of the rail was leaning one way and the front was leaning the opposite way, both were not level with the regulator, it seems like some people are having trouble zeroing their scopes or they have to use shims, I'm not advising anyone to do this, I'm just telling you what I did, I took of both the rear and front rail and used a file to take of material from the bottom of the rail on one side little by little and putting it back on the gun and checking if it was level, until it was level, my problem was solved, I hope this helps guys, have a good one.

      I got a tuxing twin cylinder and two molecular sieve filters so I can fill my SCBA tanks in 40 minutes!
      Not only that but I fill them to 4,650. That gives me a thousand PSI under the burst disc limit but I know that tank will take way over 11,000 PSI so it's not going to do anything crazy now I can always fill my gun to Maximum. Of course I do this in my air conditioned house so when I go out here in Florida it's always over 80 degrees and the pressure will continue to rise :-)

    Once you have the regulator set, shouldn't you tune the hammer to the new regulator setting? From what I have heard, shouldn't you set the hammer so you get a few feet slower than the max velocity.. This would assure best efficiency and not waste any unnecessary air..

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can tweak forever chasing that extra shot or extra FPS. I’ve found that it’s more than close enough to just tune the REG, but for those that want to go the extra mile, sure. Go for it.
      Cheers
      AGW

    • @vansantsam
      @vansantsam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AirGunWeb If you have too much hammer then not only are you wasting air (hammer bounce) but also allowing air from the main tube to influence the velocity, as the air will rush past the regulator before it has time to close, because the output valve is open for too long.. I think it would be better to not use all the air in the regulator, I think this would help with efficiency and also extreme spread and consistency.. I think I would start with a low hammer and bring it up until I reach max velocity and then back it of some.. If you are going to do some tuning then doing all of it makes more sense than just doing part of it, it doesn't take that much more time..

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vansantsam - Richard.. in my work with the avenger.. I have not seen it make much of a difference. There are guns where it really matters. I have not found this to be one of them which is why I didn't spend any time on it other than to mention that you can adjust the hammer spring if you like. Of course, what "doesn't matter" to me may be all the world of difference to someone else.
      Cheers

    • @vansantsam
      @vansantsam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AirGunWeb No matter if a rifle is regulated or not or if it is an Avenger or Daystate or FX.. all are influenced by the hammer, this is so critical that many have easily adjustable hammers and some have anti-bounce features built in.. Proper hammer adjustment is more critical on a regulated rifle than a non-regulated one.. I would suggest to watch all of Robert Lanes videos on regulators and hammer adjustments.. You can do as you wish but if I go to the extent of adjusting a regulator then I will spend an extra few minutes to adjust the hammer to the proper setting to match the regulator, it only takes a few minutes.. You can decrease extreme spread on a regulated rifle with proper hammer adjustment, you can also eliminate (tune out) incline and decline in power from a regulator with proper hammer adjustment.. Steve, from AEAC did a video on exactly what I have mentioned.. (how to flatten extreme spread between shots and how to tune out a steady increase or decrease in FPS from your regulator.. Robert Lane also addresses these issues.. Adjusting the regulator is only half the job.. If you are going to this extent then finishing the job is part of the process.. Whenever you make a change with your regulator you also have to adjust the hammer, that is almost a cardinal rule.. To down play this important part leave me wondering..

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vansantsam - you are missing the point. I don’t disagree with you that there are differences to be seen and advantages to be had. But, they are sometimes not significant enough to mess with (for most shooters). I represent “most shooters” where 95% of the way is close enough and the time and energy to get the last 5% simply isn’t worth “my” time. It may be worth your time and energy and that’s great! I did not find tinkering with the hammer spring, with the the reg at max usable pressure, worth any time on the avenger. Now, drop the reg way down, you would probably do well to back off the hammer spring a bit. That was not what this video was about.
