My family swears they hate liver, but frying it like that, chicken fried steak style, just might make them change their minds. I love that you are cooking in a cast iron skillet too, just like my great grandma used to do. Everyone loved her cooking. She put a little bacon grease and a lot of love into it all her finger-licking southern dishes. 💕 🥰 Thank you for sharing your recipe and explaining everything so well. I am your new subscriber. 🙂 👍🏽 😎
i'm cooking for my 80+ year old father today. your recipe looks like my mothers recipe. thank you for helping me make a memorable and delicious sunday dinner.
Grew up on liver and onions and Momma forced me to eat it lol now here I am watching how to make again so i can start forcing my family it eat. So healthly!! And delicious if you make it right!
Looks moist, tender, and delicious. Only thing I would add is sliced mushrooms to round out the flavor... well, maybe bacon too. :) I like the idea of rolling liver in flour first.
I love chicken livers dude Popeyes used to have them and gizzards some yrs back. Yeah give the beef liver a try I like to cook a few jarred in brine pepperoncini peppers slices and cooked in the last few min.
I’m gonna make me some. But take twice the onion and remove all but half and make my gravy using beef broth. Once it gets to the consistency I want pour into blender and purée the gravy with the onions make a richer gravy. Then set the liver and the rest of the onions back in to thicken even more. That’s me though. Never liked liver before but gonna try one more time.
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and I went into the cafeteria. The sign said liver & onions and when I asked if they had them the answer was no! I really wish they did. Your recipe looks great..that's how I would make mine!
I don't let it thaw all the way out because I can't handle that loose blood. I love liver n onions making it today; calf liver. Your picture looked great came to check out your recipe
I grew up in New York and when I was a young kid my mom always cooked liver with onions it was always good but I've never had it with gravy that's an interesting part so I will give that a try

Thank you appreciate it!
If you pour the water slowly, you can better control the consistency of the gravy.I prefer my gravy thicker.
Quick tip.....plastic bag, size to suit. Seasoned flour ,place liver nto bag then shake. ..remove liver roll up bag and bin. Little or no mess!
My name is Ray, thanks brother.
Keeping the public informed.

Looks delish, but I would use less oil while frying.
yes I agree
No need for less oil. Just switch to a healthy oil. Avocado, coconut or olive oil.
Agree
Your recipe took me back to my childhood in Florida. I always eat it but never tried to cook it. Maybe today

Good job. My recipe is similar to yours but I use beef broth and I add bacon.

Extremely healthy!! Remove the membrane (keeps it tender) & sautéed w/no oils (keeps it healthy) & choice of onions peppers veggies etc . Quick delicious and healthy!!!
